Alan took time to discuss the process and options, including product options. He answered all questions i had. He also was the primary contact with the insurance adjustor once the adjustor prepared the bid. They were in and out in two days. Any calls to Alan were returned very timely and overall communication was very good. There was some landscaping damage, but Alan more than adequately compensated for the damage. I would and have highly recommended Helsley roofing.

Mark provided a competitive quote and they were able to start work immediately. Their closest competitor had a 6 week wait. The crew did a very good job and finished the job in 2 days. They cleaned up the the job site very well. I am completely satisfied with Helsley and recommend them highly.

I was put in contact with Helsley via USAA, which uses them as a certified vendor for roof repairs. David, the Helsley rep, was very responsive and showed up at my house quickly to perform a loss estimate. He worked very well with USAA in processing my claim, and was quick to return phone calls. The work itself was performed over two days, and the crew did a good job. I wish they had been a little more thorough in cleaning out the debris left in my lawn, but they got most of it. I highly recommend Helsley for any roofing job.

After 2 storms in 2 weeks, one hail and the other wind, roofers suddenly appeared knocking on the door and wanting to either repair or replace roofs in the neighborhoood. Since ours was the original roof and 16 years old, I called USAA, our insurer, and asked that they send an adjuster to examine the roof and make recommendations. I asked for Helsey Roofing as we had used them in the past for repairs with good results. They agreed since Helsey is on their approved listing of roofing contractors. Alan Helsey came a few days later and did a complete inspection. He recommended replacement due to the age of the roof and accumulated damage. He notified the insurance company and they agreed to replace the roof less my 2% decuctable. It worked out to my share being approximately 1/3 of the total cost. This included adding a 3rd vent and replacing some window screens. Helsey presented his proposal in writing on Monday evening, we agreed, and all the work was completed on Wed the same week. They used a crew of about 10 that worked very efficiently. They moved the roof and put the new one on in about 10 hours. They did a very good job of cleanup. As a result I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone needing roof repair/replacement

I had contacted Helsley Roofing to start getting estimates on our hail damaged roof based on a recommendation from a co-worker. Alan Helsley was one of the most punctual, professional, and honest contractors I have ever met. He called when he said he would. He showed up on time when he said he would. He dropped off the estimate a day later. That is more than I could say for the other people I called. He has been doing roofing his whole life and knows what needs to be done to do it right. We ended up not using him because I needed a general contractor to handle all the damage we had and they had their own roofing guys. I would not hesitate to contact Alan in the future for any roofing needs.

I have had good experience with Helsey in the past. So, when a leak spot appeared in the ceiling recently I called and spoke to Allen Helsey. He said someone would contact me. After a week no one had come so I called him back. He said he had been out of town and thought it has been taken care of. He had a repairman come a few days later and he replaced the dryer vent and reshingled the area around it. There was a squirel's nest in the vent and it was replaced with a better quality one with a flap that opens and closes. The repair seems well done.

A few roof shingles came loose. Called the company and the owner himself came to have a look. Stated that the work required was minimal and that the minimum charge would be too high. Instead, he suggested that one of his workers comes by one day and that we will pay him directly ($50). He did not try to upsell a roof inspection to justify their minimal charge. The next day, one of his workers came by and replaced the few shingles and we paid him directly the $50. Very satisfied.

Overall the process went very well. After a couple of calls I was finally able to get someone to come out and take a look at the roof. They told me the metal flashing around the chimney needed to be replaced. I had Helsley Roofng perform this same work about 5 years ago. David from Helsey said that with the crazy Texas weather that the metal flashing should be replaced that often. The work has been completed and the roof doesn't leak anymore. Even though I haven't been able to fully test it since it hasn't rained here in the Dallas area in over a month. Hopefully it will rain soon.

They made the entire process of replacing my hail-damaged roof very straightforward and painless. I knew what to expect at each step of the process and they met every timeline and quality expectation. During the 3 days it took to complete the replacement they kept the worksite clean and reasonably free of nails. Their final cleanup was immaculate. Highly recommended.

The insurance covered most of it. It was $20,000.00 for the whole deal. They were prompt and showed up when they said they would. They gave me a number to contact so I could call somebody if I had questions. The crew was very good. I never interacted with them much at all. They just came out and did the work. They weren't the lowest priced, but they were recommended by the insurance company.

They were efficient and did a great job. The roof looks.

The beginning of this transaction was the best part about this interaction. The salesman Caleb came out and took a look at the job and left a contract on the front door detailing the cost and the job. It sounded like a good deal because everyone else wanted a minimum of $350 or so. I told him the day i got home and read the proposal to start working on this and please schedule ASAP. He called me back and said I have you on the schedule and we will get out there as early as possible and by early not until next Thursday. That was fine with me. Thursday came and went and no gutters were installed. I called Caleb and he said I never said Thursday and I quoted him back exactly what he said and then said, "sorry about that." He said because it's such a small job and because they are feasting right now on full jobs due to the rain and hail we got here in the DFW area, my job has been pushed back indefinately. I called more repair men but they either said the job was too small or they wanted a minimum fee. I waited another 2 weeks and called Caleb again. I prefaced it with I know this job means nothing to you but I'm still waiting and have yet to be contacted by your installer. Finally, he called the installer and I was told they would be out by the end of the week no matter. Needless to say, they never made it out by the end of that week but the did complete it the Tuesday after. When I got home on Tuesday, the caulking from the last gutters were still on the wood where the new gutters hung. I thought they would at least scrape it off or make it look a little nicer but then I realized I was a small job and not worth completing correctly. I am very irritated by this company and would never use them again.

Excellent job. They did not tear-up anything and left the work site very clean. I had a couple warranty issues(flashing) during the first 5 years that were fixed immediately. 8 years later the roof is still in great shape. Recently(2010) Mr Helsley answered some questions relating to some other home improvement work I was having done. He replied in a very professional and timely manner. Thank you sir...you are one of the finest!

That is not a typo. Yes it cost me $45. I had another estimate for $800+. I have a flat roof over a patio with some sort of mystery foam covering the roof. It was leaking like crazy in one place. The other company wanted to fix the hole and lay some sort of roofing felt (never got a real good reason why). Alan Helsey himself answered the phone number I called, swung by and looked at the leak and got back with me immediately. All it needed was some roofing cement to fill the hole. Repair was done in just a day or two (he handled it while he was in the area on another call so no extra expense there). This is the second time I have used them (they put ridge vents in for me). I find this company to be honest and ethical. They have been around a while so not a fly by night group. I will use them again.

He does very good work. He has always offered us a very good deal.

I submitted a request for quote to have a roof replaced on their website. I received a call back asking for additional information, which I provided to them. They said that they would be out over the next couple of days to generate an estimate on the roof replacement. I have not received any information to this day nor are they returning phone calls. Extremely poor customer service.

The person who came out was nice enough and went up to look at the skylight, but said he didn't see anything "obvious" and applied some caulk for which I gave him $20 (for gas) and he told me to call them back if it continued to leak, which it did, the next night. I decided not to call them back and I ended up calling another roofer instead who was able to actually fix the leak on his first visit.

They are professional, responsive and punctual. They will come over as many times as required until a particular problem is resolved. The quality of their work is very good and I have been satisfied with their service.

The project went very well. They have been a very good company to work with. We have suggested them to other friends and family members of ours.

The project went well overall. Everyone was very prompt and professional. They were able to provide me with some very good information.

I called the office and gave them my information. The woman at the desk told me that things were fairly busy, but that someone would call me in 24-48 hours to set up an appointment to come look at the roof. No one ever called. If they could not handle any more work, the professional thing to do would have been to tell me sorry, but that they could not accommodate any more work now. Instead, they just blew me off.

The roof was finished in one day with one additional trip back to repair some damaged siding. The result looks good. One caution that I think would apply to any company: if you have an insurance settlement DO NOT let your contractor see it. If you do the price will magically change to the amount of your settlement. This used up some money that had been allotted for sheetrock repairs. I got quotes from 4 companies and Helsley was the most knowledgeable about what they are doing. One other company tried to tell me turbine ventilators could both supply and remove air from my attic. They do quality work. Just don't let them see your insurance paperwork.

Would I hire someone that didn't show up to the job interview? No.

Caleb Moore, the Helsley representative, was very responsive and professional. Provided any information needed. Willing to answer multiple questions on multiple occasions. Helsley's bid was significantly lower than well-known competition, due in part to recommending a more modest product. Took awhile for work to begin, but it was done well. I'm very pleased.
