Description of Work: Had Elite do work on 2 very large bur oaks - the guys had trouble getting to the uppermost branches (which were brushing the roof). 2 of them were pretty portly so that seemed to limit their ability to climb. The trimmers didn't seem to know how "to control the fall of the larger branches" which resulted in the loss of 6 decorative tops from our ornamental fence. After I realized the big branches were falling onto the fence - I stood in the yard for the rest of the trim. Don't think the trimmers liked that - they became fairly surly. Called Brent (I had already paid) to complain about the loss of the decorative tops from the fence. He never returned my phone calls. And of course, he did not come by to "inspect" the job his guys had done or ask if we were satisfied. He continues to send me letters at least once a year asking for repeat business from us..... We had used Arborilogical SErvices out of Wylie for years. THey cost more, but the service is light years ahead of any other tree service we have used.

Gave me two follow-up calls regarding when the work would be done. Adam accompanied the crew for instructions. The crew performed the best job I've ever contracted for on my trees. Great work for a great price. Just what you'd want as a customer and a tree lover!
Description of Work: Trimmed two live oaks. One in front yard, one in back. We had a limb on the backyard tree that was rubbing on the fence when conditions were windy.

Description of Work: Called once and talked to the lady who fielded calls. Everything seemed fine and they seemed well-organized. She said a tree guy would call me back. I waited three days and called again, talking to the same lady (I believe) and she jotted down that I had already called once and said that the tree guy would call me back. They never did, so I gave up and am now getting quotes from two other companies recommended here. This happened back in December, which should be low season for tree service so that made me even more perplexed that they never called back.

+ -1 moreBrent was easy to contact, and prompt for all appointments. His tree men arrived on time when specified, cut down and removed all tree material without incident. Good clean-up of leaves, etc. when done. Stump work done by subcontractor for Brent (John's Stump Removal). Machine used to grind stumps and many surface roots. During the work, two sprinkler lines were cut, which they promptly pointed out. (Contract warns this is possible, and that they are not responsible). Both lines that were cut were very close to tree stumps and only buried about 4-5 inches - so not that surprising that they were cut. In another case, I knew where a Willow surface root had grown into one of my sprinkler heads. I pointed this out and they were able to grind the root away from the embedded sprinkler head without damaging the sprinkler. Note that when stumps and roots are ground up, they typically do NOT remove the stump and root material. I knew this so was not surprised. Pleased with all work done
Description of Work: Removal of 2 large trees (Cottonwood and Willow) with extensive ground roots, 3 medium trees (Peach, Bradford Pear, and Bald Cypress), and 10 large bushes. Service also included stump and root grinding for all. Price was right in line with other quotes.

He was prompt to return my calls and spent 30 minutes or more on his initial visit talking about the work to be done (two other highly recommended arborists did not wait for me to be at my house, as I requested, but simply left me quotes on the door). The workers spent over 4 hours completing the work, and cleaned up behind themselves very well. Most importantly Adam did not try to sell me tree fertilization (which comprised over 50% of the competitors quotes). As we discussed the specific needs of my trees and property he confirmed that we don't even need this expensive add on!
Description of Work: Pruned 2 major (very large) trees, pruned 4 smaller trees, and removed a small tree growing on a fence.

+ -1 moreCame on time to give estimate and then to do the work. Trimming was excellent, with accurately cut collars and good shaping of the tree. The man doing the work was meticulous in performing safety preparations for himself. Did thorough clean-up. This was the second time Elite, which I found on Angie's List, has done work for us, and both times they have been punctual, professional, and good to work with.

+ -1 moreFour days after the initial visit, the tree branch fell and did $650.00 worth of damage to the electrical wires. I had to find someone instantly (and pay them $100. cash ''under the table'') to get the broken limb off of my electrical wires and hauled away. I left a message for Elite Trees and hoped they would decrease the amount they charged by at least $100 to $150, but nope. So, what should have cost $300.00 will (when all the work is complete) have cost me $1050.00. This was a bad experience. Also, I was home when the workers were pruning the tree and the branches were allowed to fall on the roof of my patio. They did clean up after themselves.
Description of Work: I set the appointment because a tree branch was cracked and I thought it looked like it would fall on to electrical wires (from my house to my detatched garage) in my back yard. Adam said his minimum charge was $150.00 but recommended pruning the entire tree for $300. He stated that he could not perform the work that week,but would complete it the following week. He stated there was no danger of the limb falling.

+ -1 moreThey were on time, professional and the price was very fair. They're insured, which is a must for the dangerous work they do. Adam was very professional and responsive to our concerns. The only problem I have is that they didn't prune some parts that I had expected to be cut. When I asked about it, I was told that I should have reminded them, which I did at the start of the job. No offer to come back to fix the problem though. Overall, though, I'd recommend.
Description of Work: Pruned trees, and removed a large tree that was leaning over the neighbors house. One part of the tree broke off while removing it, and broke 2 fence boards. The foreman went to Home Depot and got replacement boards and dropped them off. We had go find stain that would match though and nailed them up. Initially I wasn't happy with the cleanup, but Adam was back here first thing the next morning to clean up a little better and to make sure we were happy. They use a subcontractor to do stump grinding and removal, and that worked out well also.

+ -1 moreThey did a good job, all in all. The crew had a miscommunication amongst themselves and didn't fertilize the magnolia on the first trip. I had to call back about 3 times over the course of the next week and a half or so to get someone out to do the fertilizing job, but they finally got it done as well.
Description of Work: Trimmed 3 trees, removing dead wood & generally raising the canopy a little bit. Also fertilized a magnolia tree by boring a number of holes & inserting fertilizer pellets. They brought their own chipper & ground up all the debris, so we didn't have to deal with it.

THEIR ESTIMATE INCLUDED STUMP GRINDING BELOW GROUND LEVEL, WHICH THEY DID NOT DO, AND IT TOOK MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO GET THEM TO FINISH THE JOB. THEY DID NOT TRIM SOME OF THE TREES THAT WERE INCLUDED IN THE ESTIMATE, AND THE CHARGES. IT TOOK MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO GET THE TRIMMING FINISHED.

HOWEVER AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ESTIMATED BECAUSE ADAM HAD MISCOUNTED THE AMOUNT OF STUMPS TO BE GROUND ( THERE WAS NO NUMBER ITEMIZED ON THE ESTIMATE). I ALSO HAD BEEN LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE STUMP GRINDING WOULD BE DONE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE TREE SERVICE. A WEEK LATER THE SUBCONTRACTOR GROUND 20 STUMPS. I PAID TWICE THE PRICE($300.)I HAD BEEN GIVEN BY ADAM($150). I ALSO WAS NOT TOLD THAT THERE WOULD BE PILES OF GROUND UP WOOD AND DIRT LEFT BEHIND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DISPOSE OF. THE GRINDING SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE TREE SERVICE SO IT COULD BE CLEANED UP ALONG WITH THE OTHER DEBRIS. SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST.
Description of Work: ELITE TREE SERVICE REMOVED SEVERAL LARGE CEDAR TREES. THEY PRUNED NUMEROUS LARGE OAK AND CEDAR TREES NEAR THE HOUSE ROOF LINE. TWO LARGE PILES OF TREES AND BRUSH THAT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY CUT DOWN AND WERE IN A DIFFICULT AREA TO ACCESS WERE REMOVED. THE CREW DID A GOOD JOB ON THE TREES, DISPOSING OF THE BRUSH PILES AND THEY CLEANED UP THE YARD NICELY. ADAM ALSO MADE A PHONE CALL TO HAVE THE STUMP GRINDING SUBCONTRACTOR CONTACT ME ABOUT HIS SERVICE. I WOUND UP HAVING TO SCHEDULE AND PAY THEM $300.00 SEPARATELY.
