Bruce Douglas Brick Care

Bruce and a partner did the entire home in 2 days. I had large sections of wall up to the roof line on a two-story residence where the mortar was pockmarked with holes from the original poor sand-mortar mix, and that was showing up on all four sides of the house. A rainstorm from the North was especially aggravating as the rain blew past the brick and began dripping down the windows inside. This job included remounting sections of corner bricks that were starting to break away or sag, and he even re-did the bricks around an outside faucet that I had previously removed to replace the faucet. His reconstruction looked natural, not like my mortar-from-a- tube job! I would recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again.

I called them, they came out to look at it and gave me an estimate. They came right on time the day of repair, I paid them.. Excellent work and very timely. So impressed and will use them again.

Came when he said he would. Worked quickly and appeared very interested in the details. The wall looks great and I appreciate his professionalism, as well as the price and work. He actually came on a Sunday morning to fix the wall because of anticipated rain in the days to come. Would definitely recommend.

A much more solid foundation was provided. The same vintage of matching brick was available that perfectly matched our 51 year old house. The finished job is a perfect match and looks like the original (before they began falling apart). This was the most satisfying construction contract I have ever entered into.

t was a small job by just having to replace a brick damage during foundation repair. I was able to get a quick quote and repair done in a timely manner. I did not have a replacement brick and repair done is barely noticeable. Good communication and friendly service. Will use again.

Bruce was actually the 1st contractor to call me immediately to survey the work. If we had made a decision sooner, it would have been done on time. However, I am very pleased with the work and the price. Most other contractors charged more (double even!) what he charged. And the work was completed very quickly in just a few hours. Bruce was fantastic. My job was approximately a 2-ft by 2-ft hold in the side of my house that had been left a year earlier by my plumber, who had had to dig under the concrete slab to repair a broken water pipe. I had filled the hole in the interim with expanding foam to prevent critters and pests from entering the house. I had contacted Bruce 3 weeks ago to submit a bid. When I was ready to have the work done, Bruce was able to fit me into his schedule on the same day for repairs. He patiently scraped out all of the old foam. He matched the bricks and mortar perfectly to my extisting bricks. Looks like there had never been a hole in the first place. He picked up every last bit of foam, broken bricks pieces, and mortar from around the worksite. I have several other pieces of work that I plan on having Bruce do for me. He was a pleasure to business with.

Bruce built a brick-enclosed mailbox for us 3 yrs ago. We've been very pleased with it. The workmanship is top-notch, and he was totally professional. I will be needing mortar repair on my house, and I will definitely be calling Bruce.

The job was a small job, but very pleased! If you did not know that the brick had been replaced from a previous faucet problem, you would not know they had been replaced.

They were here on time, and finished the project in a professional manner. They offered the cheapest alternative to reinforcing the wobbly wall. Other est1mates included removing all the bricks and redoing the entire wall which didn't make sense to me. Apparently cheaply made and weak brick ties were used when the house was built. We ere very satisfied with the work and the outcome satisfied our needs. They even re-mortared other cracks in other areas of the home because they had additional mortar. They cleaned up all messes. After my neighbors made numerous failed attempts to get an estimate from other vendors for the purpose of repairing our stone mailbox, I took over and found Bruce on Angie's List. I was extremely pleased with his response time and workmanship. My call was returned on the same day. Bruce came out the next morning and provided an estimate. Once the check was in hand from the insurance company he and his partner got right to work. In my view he went above and beyond what was required. Actually, I think he should have charged a little more. Bruce was very professional and friendly. I most definitely will use his service again if the need arises..

I called for an estimate and Steve came out the next day to assess the job. The next day I was provided a written estimate describing the work I'd requested and what they recommended. Additionally, I got a couple other bids and theirs was neither the high nor the low but seemed the most consistent with what was truly needed and the scope of the work. I asked about the timeline upon accepting their bid and was told they were about two weeks out on scheduling. This didn't surprise me as I would have been worried if they were just waiting around for my call. About a week and a half later the work was started on a Wednesday morning and completed on Thursday afternoon. The quality appears to be excellent. As an added benefit, they also pointed out a couple of issues they noticed with some flashing on my roofing that should also be addressed, which I appreciated. I'd highly recommend them and would certainly use them again as the entire project was completed in a very predictable, timely, and competent manner.

He does a phenomenal job. He has very good attention to detail and good customer services. His prices were very reasonable.

I called Bruce for and estimate and he shared his expertise about stone, moisture, and sealers. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I felt very comfortable with his recommendation and estimate. Bruce put a commercial grade sealer on my flagstone and did a great job. He was very pleasant to work with and I am very pleased with the sealer that he applied . I enjoyed doing business with him and would recommend him to anyone.

Bruce arrived at my home to give an estimate the same day I called them. Although their quote was not the "cheapest", after meeting with them and observing Bruce's professionalism and knowledge of the requested project I had no reservation choosing Bruce Scott for the job. Bruce called me Thursday and we set an appointment for the following Saturday at 8:15 am. At promptly 8:10 am they arrived and went immediately to work. The repairs were finished in a timely manner, the cleanup was immaculate and all I can say about the mailbox was WOW! The brick and mortar were an exact match, the lines were straight and level and the crown was perfect and symmetrical. The finished product was better than new. Needless to say, Bruce Scott proved I made the right choice! I have already had compliments from my neighbors. Sideline: My wife's only request was for them to try and not damage her beautiful flowers in the side planters. Bruce Scott went the extra mile and carefully covered up the flowers taking extra care when working around them. When they were finished, not a stem was broken and I had a very happy wife!

It was a great experience; he was very informative as to the cause and solution for the problem. He came out to see us the same day we called and was able to do the work a week later. He and his helper spent parts of 2 days performaing the tasks; they cleaned up the site immaculately and the job done looks great. He also restored a neighbor's ugly DIY repair in a front facing brick wall; cut out and replaced mismatching colored mortar between about 20 bricks for $100; the "fix' is now totally invisible because it blends so well.

My roofer recommended Bruce Douglas masonry to make repairs to our chimney. Our home was built in 1981 and over the years the top several layers of brick on the chimney have deteriorated. The original cement cap on top of the brick chimney was cracked, causing some water to leak into the fireplace when it rained. Steve returned my call to Bruce Douglas masonry and set up an appointment. When Steve came by, I also showed him two sides of our house where the foundation had settled and opened cracks in the mortar between bricks. Steve explained how they could repair the chimney and the wall cracks. He provided a quote of $1200. When I accepted the company's quote, Bruce and Steve did an excellent job on the repairs. The chimney looks beautiful. The mortar used to make the repairs to the cracks on the walls matched the existing surrounding mortar. Steve even made some other minor repairs to other areas on the brick veneer that he noticed.

Bruce completed the work in less time than he had estimated. Bruce is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything well.

We noticed that the outer most layer of brick on our portico had separated from the rest by more than inch and that there were significant cracks developing in the field of brick above our garage door. We called Bruce Douglas. He stopped by the house a few days later to take a look. He called us back with a quote right away. We chose to proceed. Bruce and his co-worker do all the work themselves. They cleaned the work site each evening. They finished the whole job in two days. OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP!

I never heard from him so no project occurred.
