Bruce Douglas Brick Care

Outstanding!! Our 40 year old, 39' brick wall blew down in high winds. Bruce Douglas was extremely patient and concise in explaining what and how the wall would be rebuilt. He met and talked to our insurance adjuster and explained the process needed to do the repairs. He was the only mason we talked to who was willing to clean and use our existing brick so that the rebuilt wall will continue to match our house. We were greatly impressed as the wall went up to see the care used in mixing a strong mortar and use of wire tracks to stabilize the wall. Once finished, the team cleaned up and removed the remaining debris. He and his team could not have been nicer or easier to work with. We are extremely happy with the work that was done and would use them again. If you need a mason, please contact Bruce Douglas. You will be glad you did.

Bruce and his partner were fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. They even did more work than originally quoted for and didn’t increase their fee. Bruce also was extremely knowledgeable about the interaction of brick work and cement work which was very helpful. Really glad we hired him and will do again without thinking twice.

Everything went great. Originally Bruce was going to tuckpoint the loose bricks in the wing wall but the mortar was completely disintegrating. He said we could either remove the wall or rebuild it with the existing brick. We agreed on a price and he rebuilt it coming close with the original mortar color. The wall looks great. The chimney looks great.

Several of the bricks had started to fall around both sides of the chimney and water was leaking around the fireplace. Bruce was wonderful in looking over the work and letting me know the extent of the repair. He moved some jobs around to be able to repair the brick before we got a rain so there would not be any more water damage. The repair to the bricks is very good and the chimney very solid now. I would definitely recommend Bruce!

On time, as promised, very professional and significantly lower in price than insurer recommendation

We had two bricks that had fallen off of the outside of our fireplace decades ago. Bruce and his associate replaced the broken brick with a whole brick and reattached it and the old brick that was still intact. They were on time, friendly, professional, and courteous. They did an excellent job.

Bruce and an associate arrived promptly Thursday morning and immediately jumped in, each doing their portion of the job. They showed me where the rain had been getting in, causing the rust. The finished project looked really professional. A lot of old, porous mortar had been ground out and replaced. And with that crispy black new mailbox snugly secured by fresh grouting, it looked like original. I am very glad I decided not to tackle the replacement myself, and it certainly would not have looked a great as when Bruce and associate completed the upgrade. We're very pleased! Many thanks.

Bruce Douglas showed up the next day, gave us an estimate and was flexible when we had to change our schedules. And the work they did was top notch...you can't even tell it was there!

Bruce was very responsive when I called. He showed up the next day and replaced several bricks around a water faucet. The house is 40 years and he matched the brick perfectly. The job was very professional and I could not tell any work had even been done. I was very happy and will use him again if I need any brick repair.

We got a referral for Steve and Bruce from a friend. I contacted them on Monday and sent them pictures of the job. They gave me a quote and then they came out Tuesday to complete the job. They were very friendly and even pointed out that there is a lot of water buildup around the mailbox that may be causing the problem and suggested that I contact the city to have them check for leaks. The work was done fast and well.

Only problem was he was booked up for 2 weeks ahead of time. But I understand why he is so popular.

Great team of two.. they surgically removed the broken bricks and fixed cracked areas. Very friendly and courteous. I really appreciate the high quality of their work, the brick was hard to match, but they've matched and repaired it beautifully and you won't be able to tell that there was ever any damage there.

Brought all equipment and labor needed. Bruce estimates and does the work himself. He repaired brick and mortar on two chimneys (top to bottom). Very pleased with the results.

Bruce's response time was fast, and he showed up to assess the wall exactly when he said he would. He was very thorough in explaining to me the source of the problem, the process he would use to repair it, and the cost. The wall was broken down and the bricks cleaned and neatly stacked on day 1. On day 2, the wall was rebuilt with matching colored mortar. They even replaced a piece of wooden trim with a new piece of wood, and reset the gutter downspout and re-mounted a garden hose hanger. Their cleanup was thorough and they were completely done halfway through day 2. I have "before" and "after" pictures if any member would like them. Hopefully my house won't have this issue again but if it does I know who I will be calling.

Bruce was friendly and very professional. He arrived on time, did an excellent job and cleaned up after the job was done. The cost was on budget and looked better than I envisioned.. He was very personable and friendly. Attention to detail. It's was very nice working with a true professional and a master at his trade. I have booked them for another job of replacing brick in 2 weeks and will use his company for all my brink work in.

I have used Bruce Douglas before in 1999 and was satisfied with his work, so I wanted to get an estimate from him to rebuild a 40 foot long screen wall. I left three messages, two on one of his numbers and one on the other number and also a message on his web site with a brief description of the work I wanted done. I did not receive a response to any of my messages - no phone call, no e-mail, nothing! Maybe he wasn't interested in the job, but a true professional would at least have the courtesy to contact me to tell me that he didn't want to bid the job. UPDATE - after I posted the above review, he called me and explained that he had sent me several text messages. Unfortunately, the number I left for him to call was a land-line, so I never got the text messages, so I have changed the original rating.

We had two damaged bricks due to a winstorm breaking our flagpole. Bruce was quick in responses. He came out and finished quickly. He did not leave a mess. He was able to find bricks that matched our house and replaced both of the damaged ones. You cannot even tell there was a problem. It looks perfect. We will definitely use him again and have already recommended him. Thanks Bruce!

Bruce was prompt and courteous. I needed a brick replaced after it fell inside after foundation repair. He came a day earlier than he quoted and replaced the brick quickly and cleanly (He even found the fallen brick between the house frame and the brick veneer). Great guy, great job, great honest price.

Bruce was extremely responsive, professional and worked around my shifting schedule. Given his extensive experience he already had a good idea of what needed to be done when he arrived and got it done quickly -the quality was also top notch. This is one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor.
