Steam It

He did a great job and I plan to use him for cleaning my tile floors. He was a professional, nice person and reasonable price-wise.

I was a little disappointed that they couldn't get a few of the stains out that were of the same severity that the outfit I had come do the cleaning last year could get out. However, the carpet is a very light color and once I put all the furniture back in, everything looked fine. My only other complaint is the cleaner walked on the freshly cleaned carpet (that was still damp) in his shoes after walking outside and coming back into the house. The company should instruct all their cleaners to remove their shoes or use shoe covers

Cleaned the floor nicely, I was looking for a little more from the sealant. It was more like putting wax down vice a clear coat of sealant.

While this is the first time to use a steam cleaner, we were impressed with how clean our carpets were and that they were able to remove two stained areas. The only downside is that the carpet takes almost 24 hours to completely dry. Not soaking wet, but definitely damp to the touch.

We were very disappointed. We had to do a lot of clean up after they were here. It was not good. They left caulking all over the stainless steel shower and around the ceramic tile that I now have to clean up. The caulking done around the bath tub was done well. The BD was for three hours, but they only worked for two. They could have used that last hour to clean up.

I contacted Steam It to get and estimate for cleaning my carpets and tile flooring because they had mostly good reviews on Angies' List. They arrived to do the work a little early (after confirming an earlier start time with me) but after the representative arrived, he informed me that he couldn't clean the tile for the price quoted over the phone and there would be an extra charge. After several minutes of back and forth, I reluctantly agreed to pay the extra amount to get part of the tile cleaned as well. The workman proceeded to set up and start cleaning the carpet. After watching for a few minutes, I commented that it did not appear to be cleaning very well and the technician explained that it only looked that way because the carpet was wet and that it would look better after it dried (3 to 4 hours later). He proceeded to go on with the rest of the carpet and he did go over some of the spots that didn't look clean after I commented again about them not looking very clean. He didn't get very far before the first equipment problem occurred (the steam generator shut down and he had to clear a filter..OK, that can happen I think) and he starts to continue the cleaning operation. I did notice after a while that it looked more like "Water" than "Steam" coming out of the cleaning tool but I figure OK, he knows what he is doing(??) maybe it's just me. After moping up a good deal of water where he had cleaned carpet next to the tile part of my floor I asked again about the time needed to dry and he assured me that it would only take 3 to 4 hours. After 2 more shutdowns of the equipment on his truck that he had to go fix, he finished the carpet and came back with another tool to clean the tile, he found that he didn't have the correct adapter because the truck he usually used had to go in for automotive repairs and he was using a different (spare) truck.. (I am assuming that may be why he had to go out and fix something several times). He then said that he wouldn't be able to clean the tile because the fitting for the tool didn't completely seal.. at that point I offered him the use of some duct tape if he thought it might help seal the tool well enough to finish the job and he accepted. and tried again he he said that the toll wasn't functioning correctly and again apologized for not having the right equipment.. but by that time the kitchen are of the house was covered by a layer of soapy water and the tile looked just as dirty as it did before he started. We finally agreed that there wasn't much to be gained by continuing and he only charged me for cleaning the carpet. He left, offering to come back when he had the correct equipment and clean the tile (for a charge of course) and I told him that I would consider it. He left and I was stuck with mopping up the mess in the kitchen and trying not to step on the very wet carpet. after 4 hours I checked the carpet and it was still wet (I ran the ac and opened windows to help dry things out). When my wife arrived home many hours later the carpet was still very damp (it took overnight for it to get reasonably dry to walk on).. The next day I was hoping that some of the areas that looked dirty after the cleaning would look better, but they do not. The "Cleaning" tool only succeeded in spreading the dirty spots out so they were bigger and slightly lighter in color than they were before. I got the vacuum cleaner out hoping that at least the the dirt might have been loosened enough so it could be cleaned better, but no luck.. So now I am out $96.00 and my carpets are no cleaner than they were before. I don't blame the technician so much as I blame the company letting him come to a job with inferior equipment.. It would have been far better if they had told me they wouldn't be able to make the original schedule and re-schedule for a time when a truck with properly working equipment was available. My mother used to have Stanley Steemer do her carpets and I remember that they came out looking like new.. I don't know what to make of the poor performance of Steam It and I don't think I want to hire them in the future. Even though it seems that others have had good luck with this company, I wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends. (update: 5/1/2014) To the credit of the Steam-It company, they did make good on an offer to come back and attempt to clean a couple of the spots that they didn't get clean previously . They sent someone that they claimed was one of their best techs and he tried to clean the areas that were still dingy looking, but he was unable to improve the way the carpet looked. He explained that they can never get the high traffic areas to look clean and left after we decided that there was not much use in him continuing to clean what he couldn't clean. I appreciate the fact that they DID try to make it right and they should be commended for that.. However, it would probably have been better it they had explained that they could clean the carpet before they even started and we could have all saved a lot of time (and in my case money). So if you want to have your carpets cleaned (as good as they are able) Steam-It is probably no worse than anyone else.. at lest they will TRY to get your carpets clean.. but if you have areas that are dirty from high traffic, they probably wont be able to help you. The owner's response to my original review is less than satisfactory since it only focused on the tile fiasco and nothing about not being able to clean my carpet.. I guess he didn't read the part about HIS tech "telling me" that there was a problem with the equipment. Also, I pointed out in my review that they didn't charge for the mess they made trying to clean the tile. I guess I can't blame them for trying to put the best face on it though. I have raised a few of the scores for this company since they made a second attempt but, I still can't say that I would hire them again.

I had to hire another provider.

It is only one individual and he was the owner. He worked continuously with no extended corrections...he got with it. He did a good job. We were hoping to get some errands on traffic areas to clean up better than he did; that was a disappointment but it could be that he can't clean it up. So he retaliated that; did some additional work on and put some additional product to make it less noticeable. Our expectation was he can make those traffic areas disappear but he improved it. He certainly clean our carpets in the entire house and there was an improvement.

Fast and efficient! Better price than anyone else I shopped.

The service was great! The guy was very personable, quick, and efficient.

Jerry was the technician that came. He was great! He arrived on time, was professional, friendly, and very efficient. I walked him through the whole house showing him spots that needed treating and areas that needed extra attention. Jerry was patient and listened to everything I said and assured me he'd take care of it. I was a little disappointed that our high traffic areas didn't come out cleaner so I asked Jerry to go over it one more time. He did willingly but told me that it probably wouldn't help due to the age of the carpet. Our carpet is pretty old so he may be right, or it may be what they use to clean the carpets. At any rate, I was happy that he went over it again and tried to make it better. He even cleaned our entry area rug when I asked. And he put the stain guard on in the areas that I asked him too. We had a $99 groupon for all of this so I feel that we definitely got our money's worth and am pretty happy. I would use Steam It again and would request Jerry come out to do the work.

Outside counters were in bad shape. Sealing may help hold them for a few years. Good job. Prompt, professional. Paid additional fee to have one of the large kitchen counters sealed.

Was a very nice man and did a very good job.

I am disappointed in this provider and the work performed. When I read grout restoration, I assumed they would repair the grout where it was cracked. The gentleman and a helper arrived about ten of nine in the morning. I thanked him for being early, but he said he was afraid he was late. The company told him 8:30, although I have an email from them that says 9. He started working, and then after a bit, a second person showed up. I observed the two of them in the same room when I was up there. After the job was done(one hour) the gentleman asked me to come check it. There were several spots that had to be redone--gaps and uneven. He was nice enough to fix them. In one spot where the caulk got on the mortar in the floor, he advised me to let it dry and then come back with a knife and peel it off later. After they left, I realized that the entire job was caulked, no new grout at all. For $99 for three hours, I called the company to see if they would consider a reduction since it was not grouted, only caulked. I was told no, that since I purchased it through Angie's list they would not negotiate. As far as the caulking job, he told me I should have told them what I wanted. Personally, I think the question should have been asked before they proceeded. My fault, I guess, for not being more focused on this job..I have several going on at once, but I do think this was a pretty bad deal financially. They stayed one hour, I paid for three. The man at the company said that there were two people there and they count both, so they consider it two hours. Based on my many experiences using Angie's List companies, I was very surprised to run into something like this.

They were awesome. These will be my go-to guys from now on.

Purchased the $99.00 caulk and tile special. This was a small job in scope but one that would have otherwise required us to purchase a bag of grout that the majority would have been a waste. The same goes for the caulking. From a time and supply purchase the $99 bucks was well spent. Raul arrived in accordance with the requested on line appointment. Raul was efficient, did nice work and was a truly nice guy. Would not hesitate to use service again.

I purchased a "big deal" for the whole house as we had just bought our house a couple weeks ago and wanted clean carpets before we actually moved in. I was contacted very quickly to confirm the appointment time. The service tech (sorry, don't remember his name) arrived at exactly 9 am - as was scheduled. He was very nice, courteous, and professional. Low traffic areas looked good, but there were some heavy traffic areas (entrance to kitchen) that didn't look much better after the carpet dried. There was a spot in one of the bedrooms (from the previous homeowner's daughters) that became more pronounced after the cleaning. In another bedroom there was a small area with what appeared to be dried food (from previous homeowner) that was still present after the carpet dried. Unfortunately we did not see these areas as the tech advised us to wait to walk on the carpets until they were dried. After the cleaning was done (only took about 45 minutes from arrival to finish), the service tech asked if I had already paid for the carpet cleaning, which I again showed him the certificate from Angie's List and said that I had to pay for the special deal ahead of time. He then said I needed to pay taxes for the paid amount, saying that it wasn't included in the price. I replied that the price included the taxes like in the other AL's deals, but he insisted this wasn't so. My husband reluctantly paid the taxes (by check).

Technician Raul arrived on time and went right to work. He measured off just under 60 sq feet of granite counter, sprayed it, cleaned and buffed. Looks great! Raul did a great job and provided a few tips to help care for the granite. Will definitely use Steam It again.

They did a great job cleaning the carpets. Service technician was very nice. But he left the hose unfurled in the yard and did not disconnect the hose and put the hose bib back on. In other words, he did not leave it as he found it. Real problem, though, was that he had a "buddy" show up to check in on him, and I believe this person drove through my yard leaving ruts. When I called the company the next day to have them either confirm or deny, they never even BOTHERED to call me back!! Needless to say, I shall be taking my business elsewhere. Pity, carpets were nice and clean. Professionalism was horrible.

First thing serviceman did was inform me that I would have to pay sales tax on the service and presented a bill which I paid with check and signed. I explained to him that I only had carpet in stairs and 2 small walk-in closets and a small area rug under coffee table in living room. He worked very fast (about 15 minutes ) and did a fair job...but was unable to remove stains on stairs which was my main purpose in hiring a professional service. I can do better with a Rug Doctor machine.

Very good. Steam it tech was courteous, professional, and thorough. One room had a stain that came through the carpet after he left. I called and he returned the next day and got it out.

Short story: I would call them again. Did a good job. Rug returned clean, dry and looked great. Ended up having to take my rug in to clean but did not charge me the extra. Professional staff. Long story: I called 10-14 days in advance. I just had new wood floors put down so I spent significant time on the phone discussing my concerns over what equipment would be brought in my home, cleaning the rug on the new floors and leaving a damp rug left on the floor to dry over 1-2 or 3 days. I was given a price of $44 plus $10 for scotch guard if cleaning was done in my house but $89 if they picked up. The man came as scheduled but had mistakenly planned to lay out and clean the rug in my garage not knowing my garage is 110% full. He then suggested he could clean it in the driveway but there was nowhere to put it while it dried. I told him I would have to reschedule as I did not want it cleaned on my new floors. He called his office and said they would take the rug in and clean, bring it back and would not charge me. They brought the rug back Saturday morning and brought it in and laid it out exactly where I wanted. The rug was about 2-3 shades lighter, was dry and looked great.

They were great. They got the job done in about 30 minutes.

It worked out ok and I was happy with the service.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. The manager of the business was wonderful and said I could do extra rooms for $10 each, but the employee that came out did the extra rooms and wanted me to pay him cash so he could pocket the money and not tell his manager. I did not go along with it, but they did a good job. I just think the employee has a scam going on and is trying to make a little extra cash on the side. Their responsiveness was spot on. As soon as I called them and wanted to schedule they scheduled and showed up in an ice storm. I told them they did not have to come that day.
