Did online research to see if this was still available Found a few but Model Numbers didn't match. Called company and asked that they come but first research if they could even obtain the proper part. Receptionist said no tech was (ever?) available by phone to determine if they could fix this! Called him out anyway, took a look and stated he couldn't fix but did give me a local source to explore it myself and charged me $99. and left. Local plumbing supply did locate, charged to my credit card and shipped to me. Called tech back out to install, nice and polite, did job quickly and charged me another $200.

The technician arrived and called Samsung to diagnose two issues. Samsung identified the part needed and the order was placed. A deposit was paid for the part. The same technician returned the following week to install the part. He confirmed that if the part did not alleviate the issue, I could return it for a full refund (it was a quite expensive part). I followed up the same afternoon to let them know that the same issues were still occurring. We set a time for the technician to return. I received a call prior to the next appointment to let me know that the original technician who was helping me had been injured and that I would need to reschedule with a different tech later in the week. We scheduled another time and a new tech arrived for that appointment to return the part. He asked if the original tech had removed and reinstalled the water filter, as that was a common issue. I told him that he did not. He removed the filter and put it back in and the water seemed to work fine at the time. He took the Samsung part and assured me that a full refund would be granted and the only charge would be the original diagnosis fee that was originally paid to Angie's List (which was a misdiagnosis) . I think he also felt bad that I was charged $600+ for a part that was not needed. He even wrote it on the receipt to grant a full refund. I followed up either that evening or the following morning to let Mr. Appliance know that we were still experiencing both issues with the refrigerator. That removing and reinstalling the filter did not fix the issue, either. I never heard back from them. I emailed Mr. Appliance asking to confirm the full refund of $612.36, as promised by the technician-- and was written on the receipt. When I checked my credit card statement, I noticed that the full amount had not been refunded. I called MR. Appliance and the lady on the phone told me that she checked with the supervisor and a full refund would not be granted-- that technicians are told to never promise a full refund. Not my problem. I asked to speak with the supervisor/owner and she said that he was out of town, but that I could leave a message. My call was never returned. I called again several days later and left another message, asking for the full refund and a returned phone call. My call was never returned and I never received the remainder of my refund. Ultimately, two technicians misdiagnosed the issue with my refrigerator. We are still left with the same issues (water spout doesn't work and the computer reboots randomly). After repeated calls to Mr. Appliance, they have neither granted a full refund, nor returned my phone call to address the issues. I had issues with arrival and appointment times, as well (not showing up on scheduled date, calling at the last minute of a half-day window to let me know he was on his way)-- but those are the least of my worries and not my chief complaint.
Description of Work: Misdiagnosed issue with refrigerator. Ordered incorrect part which did not solve the issues. Did not fully refund payment. Same issues still exist.

There was nothing I disliked. They were on time. It was okay. The guy came out, and was friendly and helpful. It was what I expected. There is not much they could improve on to get a better grade. It was a real quick fix. I'll call them back out. I'm fine with what the did. They were on time.

Not well. I have found a different appliance repair company.
Description of Work: Ice maker in fridge wasn't dispersing ice. Tech misdiagnosed problem. I'm the one that figured it out. They couldn't get part. I found part & they wouldn't put it in. After neighbor helped me fix it, Mr Appliance said they'd come out. Did refund money for part from original misdiagnosis.

I didn't feel the technician was capable of performing any task beyond a simple diagnostic, but didn't want to pre-judge. I had this opinion because he didn't present himself as a "knowledgeable" professional, but more like someone who had just graduated from a vocational school w/a year of experience; or a family member, friend favor. What has prompted this documentation is that once I spent my money they more or less flipped me the bird and they knowingly sent someone to assess an appliance they didn't have the capability to repair. What would have been appropriate (if they repaired what they diagnose) is to credit the customer the $42 fee charged toward the actual repair. I understand the issue requires a specialist but I don't understand a business diagnosing something they don't repair. They have commercials that depict this very thing. But, this is exactly why I don't like to support the small Mom/Pop local business because they don't have the ability (or interest) to right a wrong. And,it is wrong to diagnose what you don't repair - I already knew what was wrong!
Description of Work: Washer was leaking - replaced a part Kitchen stove hood vent light wasnt working but when the techician flipped the switch the light came on after he switched a light bulb. He was also going to replace the grease screen. He left and was gone for a bit returned and the grease screen was the wrong size. I would think a professional would have measured the item before making the purchase. Since he had to go back and had priced a full hood replacement I said I'll replace the whole thing. Everything was working he left. I was still perplexed because I couldn't imagine I had the light repaired and not remembered. Light quits working they send Travis back.(nice guy/kid but incapable of figuring out anything more than a simple light bulb, meter test). He didn't have the ability or common sense to communicate that Mr. Appliance doesn't have employees experience with electrical so I would have to contact someone else. In fact, I think the person who scheduled the service call (she later told me they don't do electrical) shouldn't have sent someone on a service call for a service they are unable to repair. I didnt need to pay them $42 for a service call on something they couldn't fix anyway.

It was awful. They came out, they brought a trainee and they worked on my refrigerator, which was basically not cooling. They said that it was due to the fact that it was dusty. They basically blew out the dust out of the refrigerator and coated my laundry room with a fine layer of dust and then left. It of course, didn't fix the problem. So they had to come out a second time, to actually fix it. It worked after that. But, just mainly having dust blown around, was horrible. There were no additional fees, it magically ended up being $171.50.

He was timely but what he suggested to do was not very good. I did it myself and it cost me $10. He wanted over $400 to repair. That one was very bad. I did it on my own. I bought the part for 10 bucks and it took 10 minutes to install. He charged me around $500 so I told him no. I would not use them again. This guy was just trying to make a quick dollar. I think he was looking to get an easy job on us. I thought it was pretty pricey for what he ended up doing. The quality was fine and I had nothing to complain about. It was just the quote. Punctuality was fine. I don't think he was professional.

Walter, the technician, gave us a call 15-minute before arriving. He was professional, courteous, and very customer oriented. He was very careful in repair the dryer. He ensured nothing is missing as well as cleaned up after the repair was done. In addition, he helped me putting the dryer into the original place. There is no doubt that the technicians are a plus and the face of the company. On the other hand, I personally think the labor cost and the part price were way too high (overcharge or overprice). The heating element for my dryer cost me about $159 while I can find the part within Amazon with the range from $20 (the lowest) to $60 (the highest). The total repair for heating element cost me about $368.93. The labor was about +- 30 min. Unfortunately, I really need the dryer to be fixed as soon as possible. If I have no urgency, I will try to compare the price with other vendors. One of the vendors within AngiesList that has awards and high rating quoted me around $180 as final price for repair cost and part. Unfortunately, the other vendor returned my call and quoted me after my dryer has already fixed by Mr Appliance of Austin. All in all, if I really have an urgency like today, I may use the service of Mr Appliance of Austin again since their schedule and response is fast and prompt. If I don't have any urgency, I will shop for other vendor due to very high cost of labor and parts.

He was gracious, clean and did a good job. He ordered the part and came back 2 days later and replaced it. Total time in my home was less than one hour spread over 2 visits. The charge was $50 for the part and $250 for the labor and $89 for the service call. Completely insane. I will never use them again!

This was an $89 big deal purchase and it went fine. The people showed up on time, they were communicative and the service provided by the technician was excellent. My service was far beyond the $89 price of the big deal. The $89 essentially waived or covered their diagnostic call cost. I have never used other appliance services so I don't have anything to compare them against. They were pretty expensive. They showed up on time, but there was a reschedule. I was not incredibly thrilled with their office staff and their willingness to work with me and give me information. The technician was excellent.

Online scheduling of the service call was great, picked a day and time that worked for me. They arrived during the window I selected, diagnosed the problem pretty quickly, and informed me on what repair was needed and the cost. I chose to move forward with the repair, they had the part with them, and they quickly replaced the fan motor and demonstrated to me that all was working properly. They were extremely professional in all aspects, especially in their skill, communication, and appearance so it was great working with them. The checkout process was easy, i paid with credit card but would have preferred to use PayPal as an option.

When I set the appointment, I was told that they would honor the 10% discount given to Angie's List members. My appliance issues were that one of the burner's on my stove wouldn't light and the inside of the dryer smelled like gas. After the burner repair, the repairman checked the dryer and said he had fixed it, which he had failed to do. When I asked him to honor the 10% discount for Angie's List members he said he didn't know anything about that but he had fixed my dryer for free. Extremely unprofessional bunch.
