In late April of 2014, I saw that Angie's list had a special deal for a garage door tune up for $39 from Welborn Garage Doors INC. I purchased the deal as the garage door sounded louder than usual going up and down. Before I could call them for the tune up, one of the coil springs (there are 2 of them) broke on May 7 and the garage door would not work. I called the company and explained my situation. I had one broken spring on a 2 car garage door and that I had an Angie's List deal for a tune up. I wondered what it would cost for replacing both springs, and would any of the money for the Angie's List deal apply, or should I return the deal. Basically, what would I expect if they were to do the work. The woman on the phone stated that all garage doors were different and that she couldn't give me that information, but that they did free estimates and that they could come out and give me an estimate. I asked what impact the Angie's List deal would have on the estimate, and she said that the estimator could answer that when he gave the estimate. I further explained that it was a metal garage door and was just a standard 2-car door, but she stuck to her story that every garage door was different and that blah, blah, blah. I have done business with companies who would not communicate about what they charge for a specific task unless they were on the premises to estimate exactly what needed to be done. Typically this happens when something is broken that you absolutely need to have fixed. I did not enjoy those past results. I will never know if Welborn Garage Doors, INC would have given me a fair quote and would have considered my Angie's List deal or not as I thanked the lady and ended the call and got a refund from Angie's List for the deal. My experience says that I should not do business with a company that would not provide basic information like this. I would assume the Welborn Garage Doors INC has probably replaced the coil springs on garage doors about as many times as I use my garage door and that they know the costs. So I called the company that replaced my garage door about 10 years earlier and asked them how much it would cost to replace 2 coil springs on a double garage door, and the lady on the other end said $219.22. I asked if that included a tune up, and she said yes. They fixed it the next day and it has been working great ever since.

I had the $65 tuneup coupon that included a wireless keypad. The technician called 20 min before arriving and completed the work within 30 minutes. He installed the wireless keypad and helped us program our door to open the garage.

He did not replace rollers or tune-up door because he said we needed a new one (door opener). He did not think our payment would apply since it went to Angie's List. He called his office and gave a ridiculous quote for a new one. We were later told the opener was fine...it was the electrical connection. There was no follow up from the company. Someone received my $79 and I received no service. It amazes me how "the company" can recite what their technician said to me and the condition of my home when it was not present. Part of my home flooded September 4, 2013. The water was no longer there when the technician came the following March. He did not give me a "worst case scenario." He said I needed a new opener and that the money I paid Angie's List would not apply. I told him I intended to have an electrician inspect all my home wiring since it had flooded six months before and we were just then back in the house. I do not appreciate your suggesting things I said were not what happened. You got your money, I lost mine, so leave it be, please.

Everything you'd expect from a well-reviewed Angie's List company. - Honored the quoted price. - Showed up as scheduled. - Quick service and professional. Will use these guys when I need a need a new opener. A+

My experience was good. They showed up on time and got the opener installed quickly. The technician was helpful and good to work with. After they left, there were some issues with the door and it would not open smoothly. I wanted them to adjust that.

We are very pleased with how our 15-year-old garage doors are now nearly whisper quiet. Emmett came in response to a Big Deal that we purchased with Welborn. He replaced all the parts that wear with use and showed how the insulation that the previous owner had installed was causing the doors to be unbalanced and now too heavy for the original single spring. We had him replace the single spring with a double spring along with various pulleys and cables. He also installed and programmed an exterior door opener and a vehicle's HomeLink. I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did to have him perform this work. He was very knowledgeable, professional, ,and willing to explain all the details to me.

They tightened the rollers and chain and informed of the potential issues with spring and what to look for. They lubricated the rollers and tightened the sensors.

There was confusion over the rate - and the service man was not clear what the difference was between what I purchased and what he was prepared to do. Apparently, this company is located in another city and contracts with individuals to provide services. He did what was necessary and recommended that it was time for a new door installation (original door on a 1985 built house). I asked for a price and never heard back. If you need minimal maintenance, this company will be fine. If you need more expertise, you probably need someone else.

They did a good job. They came on time. They corrected the thing I called about and I told them I need to replace some of the bearings, the rollers, for all of them and I went ahead and had them do that too.

It went great. We knew that we had an issue with the door not opening/closing all the way, so that is why we took advantage of the Big Deal. This company contacted us back within less than 24 hours and came out the next day. The garage door just needed a new tune up and there was no additional charge. We will absolutely use them again for all of our garage door needs.
