Owens Custom Stucco

I had several cosmetic cracks in my home's stucco finish as well as a small bit of dry rot on one wall. Owen came out and estimated the the work and gave me a much lower price that two other firms had quoted me. Owen showed up on time and worked very efficiently over the course of a few days making the repairs and applying the various layers of stucco. His color match was almost 100 percent and his texture match was perfect. He is very knowledgeable and skilled. I had previous repairs done by another stucco contractor, and I believe Owen's work is far superior. I will gladly use him for future repairs.

Owen did a great job fixing several stucco repairs on our house. ONe was pretty major, and the rest were relatively minor. I called him in the morning, and he came out right away and had the repairs done by 3pm that day! I have no comparison for price, but I guess it was a reasonable amount for the type of service he provided. We would highly recommend him and will use him again in the future!

To accommodate my schedule, Owens did the repairs Labor Day. They were on time and did the job in a thorough and timely manner. Considering the dust and debris created by the job, they cleaned up satisfactorily after completion. I would definitely use Owens again.

Stucco repair to me is like taking your car to a mechanic; you know little to nothing about what's actually wrong or what is required to fix the problem so you're mostly at the professional's mercy. We bought a house knowing that stucco repair was needed. The seller had commissioned a stucco inspection which detailed a number of problem areas, this having been accomplished without actually doing any penetrations (we were low on the learning curve at this point). We diligently got three repair estimates (this all before Owen), which ended up being all over the map price-wise, and chose one to further discuss what they would do. They sent out two guys with hammers to knock holes in my stucco walls to 'determine' what really needed fixing (other than numerous large holes!). Frustrated, we joined Angie's list and found Owen. He had a number of solid reviews so we contacted him. He came out the next day and, after getting over the damage the other ' stucco professionals' had done to my home, drilled a number of very small holes to put a wire camera through so we could both actually see what was and wasn't damaged. Several places previously reported as damaged were actually fine and didn't need repair. We agreed on the work and price, which I thought was very fair, particularly for the amount of work we needeed. Owen always called to confirm his work times, always showed up on time, and reviewed his findings and progress with us each day. Owen truly knows stucco and takes extreme pride in his work. When he was finished you couldn't find his repair areas, some of which were extensive,. We were so impressed with his work we had him completely remake our ragged old stone mailbox into a beautiful, fancy stucco one with panels and a domed top. We also had him make rectangular and oval top stucco paneled shutters for several fake windows. You can't tell they aren't high-end custom wood shutters (and they wont rot!)had If you have stucco work or damage you need to call this man. He's honest, forthright, an artist with stucco, and a pleasure to work with. We plan to use him for some fancy decorative work - something I wouldn't even consider with most others.

He seemed pretty high for what he did. The quality was fine and he cleaned up after himself. For the work, he did and the time it took the price seemed high. I probably would not use him again because of the price. The way he explained it was very thorough. The amount of time he put into it compared to the price it was quite high. It did not seem that difficult or time consuming. I talked to him about it when it came time to write the second half of the settlement.

Owen Lassiter responded quickly, noticed things that other contractors had missed, performed quality work, and charged a reasonable price.

I was very pleased with the work and Owen's customer service attitude. He was very willing to explain the process to me and work within my budget to address the issues. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Owen reviewed the inspection report and walked me through what actually needed to be done vs. all the identified defects. Turns out, all that was required was sealant in a few places. He does not offer this service but I greatly appreciate him taking the time to review the report, educate me, and walk me through the important points. As no work was required, I compensated him for his time and mileage. He was on time and very professional which is hard to find amongst contractors these days. Would definitely recommend him again and if I have stucco work in the future will certainly utilize his services.

Just look at the ratings on Angie's List - Owen is the best stucco guy in town. He gave me what I considered to be a really fair price for a bunch of touch ups at our place. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Owen Does Stucco! It's all he does, he does it well and he does it professionally! I'm accustomed to contractors, even the best, not being here on time. Owen shows up 10 minutes early, even after driving 40 miles to be there at 7:00 am. I'm accustomed to contractors trying to sell me the worst case of what is needed. Owen tells you what you need to have done. I'm accustomed to contractors that are hard to get in touch with. From first contact, Owen responded within hours and when he knew I was expecting something, it was minutes. Initially, I received a quote from a contractor for over $52,000 to tear down and replace the stucco because the he said that I had rotted wood underneath. Absurdly bloated quote for the tear down and replacement, aside. He never measured anything. He never investigated what was going on behind the stucco. He was insistent that the wood was rotting and causing collapse underneath. The house is only four years old! I don't think untreated wood would rot in four years if it were buried in the ground! Owen came in, and with my permission, drilled a couple of holes to put a camera into. He immediately identified it as rusting lathe and expansion joints underneath the stucco. No wood rot. He identified the areas that needed REPAIR - not replacement. We scheduled it and five days later he made the repairs so that it would last. The cost, let's just say that it was less than 2% of what the contractor quoted me. Owen is licensed in Florida for stucco. He knows his business. He takes a great deal of pride in his work. His customer service is outstanding. Most importantly, he does high quality work at a reasonable price.

We are very satisfied with the way thework was completed and with the quality of the completed project. Owen came promptly upon our initial call. Once the job started, which was only a couple of days later due to the weather, Owen was personally present to supervise and conduct the work. He kepts us well informed of steps and problems with the construction and installation of the beams done by the builder ten years earlier. He worked continuously and steadily until the work was completed. We took digital pictures of the repairs as they progressed and provided us with them for insurance purposes. One particular strength was his coordination with the carpentry company who did the framing. The work was seamless so that there was no wait between steps in the process.

There is nothing like talking to a person who is extremely knowledgeable in his field. Owen is definitely a master with stucco. I am a contractor and on several occasions I have needed stucco work. Owen came in easily as the lowest of the bids and had great reviews here, so I felt very comforatble using him for my project. I also shared the information I found with each of my neighbors in our six home development - since they had the same problems I did or much worse leaks requiring the replacement of entire hardwood floors in rooms. Scheduling was easy for me - I knew I needed something done but it wasn't an I need it today job, so I got on the calendar for the next open date, estimated at 3 weeks out. In the meantime, a job had cancelled and so I was ready to go within about a week. Owen completed the job on time and was even able to perfectly match the existing color on the house. The job looks like the way the windows should have been done correctly from the very begining. He even patched a small hole he found near an expansion joint on the way up to the fourth floor - for no additional charge. The height of this house made getting to the windows difficult and there were some additional expenses incurred - he needed to rent a lift to be able to get to the upper windows - but he still kept to the original estimate. I was very happy with the price and the quality of the work, I would definitely recommend Owen for your next stucco job. A couple of my neighbors have indicated they're also planning to use Owen to have the same repairs done...

Owen was out front and honest. He was on time, gave us an honest opinion of what needed to be done. Told us he would come out at a certain time and date (a couple of days after estimate), performed a great job and even pitched in a couple of extra details. We highly recommend him.

We just bought a home in Meyerland. Stucco exterior exclusively. We called over 7 companies to talk about the stucco and got repairs estimates.We called Owen and he was by the far the most reasonable and most well-informed.He gave us an estimate, came out exactly when he said he would and finished quickly. I found one crack he did not repair. He actually was the one to call me and ask me how it was, and it was then that I told him about he unrepaired (very small) crack. He went out and repaired it within 30 minutes of that phone call, and found a couple other places to care for. I was impressed with his level of caring for my home. The only reason I gave a B on price was because he did about an hour of work and I paid him $500. I think his skill is what makes him so fast, but I just thought it was a bit high for an hour. That being said, I would definitely use him again.

Owen does a great job from start to finish. He arrives when he says he will and finishes on time. You won't have to guess whether he will show up or not......if he says he'll be there, he will!!!! And when he's finished your stucco will look better than ever.

Owen repaired and painted several areas of damaged stucco on my home. He did a beautiful job and it was a perfect match! He is very knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely use him again in the future.

I called Mr. Lassiter to repair cracks in the outside stucco wall panels on the front of my residence. He came out promptly to look at the situation, and gave me his quote for repair. His quote seemed very fair to me. On the day scheduled for the repair work to be done, he called to say he was on the way and arrived at the appointed time. Owen mentioned that he would have a hard time matching the stucco pattern exactly as the original, but he would come as close as possible. He mentioned he did not do painting after the stucco dried, so I contracted with a painter to come paint the new stucco. After the stucco was painted and dried, it was very evident that the stucco pattern did not match the other stucco on the house. I called Mr. Lassiter and he came out to look at my concern. He was very professional and agreed to do additional work on the stucco to make it match closer the existing pattern (at no additional cost to me). After this second stucco application, it was painted and the panels look great. It was a very pleasant experience working with Mr. Lassiter. I would certainly use him again for any stucco problems that might arise.

I called Owen because he came highly recommended on Angie's List. There are few choices for stucco repair and he had the most reviews numbering 6. I had already received a very high quote for the repair that needs to be done on my place. The quote that I received was not based on a visual inspection but rather on a thorough report performed by a stucco inspection company. My neighbor had the identical repair performed by this very same company and this cost him about $3500. The quote I was given over the internet was no less than $5800 and possibly as high as $11800. Apparently my repair was going to be more extensive than my neighbors. Owen came out several days ago to inspect the house and told me he could do the repair for anywhere between $500 and $1500. I found the price disparity hard to believe and asked Owen if he was sure he had considered the enormity of the project. He said he had and that he had been doing stucco work for 26 years and that he is very good at it. Well he came out on a Sunday morning to start the work. His plan was to drill a hole through the largest crack to see if rotten wood would be encountered. I assured him that it would because my neighbor had the identical problem. When rotten wood was encountered, he used a claw hammer to open a larger hole. This in fact revealed terribly rotten wood. It was at this time that I think he realized that the project was too big for him He has a full time job elsewhere and works alone doing stucco repair on the side. I think he can handle crack repair. In fact, he probably has the capability to do bigger projects having been around stucco for as long as he has but this is a side job for him and he works alone. (I did explain to him that the team that repaired my neighbors place assembled and disassembled scaffolding every day for 5 days straight.) Further, while he does repair cracks, he does not paint nor caulk windows so one is left to find a painter that can do both after his job is complete. In short, if you have a small cosmetic stucco project, Owen can handle it. He is very pleasant and punctual. He seems very honest. And I think he knows his limitations, perhaps even more so now than before.

In the corner of the house the stucco started to crack and fall off. I called him and he came over on a Sunday and completely fixed it. It was no charge of course. I will use him again.

Owen is a nice guy, mostly professional, does the job well, but $800 for an hour's work is just too much. Ok, the stucco cost $100 for a 5 gallon pail, but still, even $700 for the labor is just over the top. I do home repairs often, and have built two houses, but I am new to stucco, so I wanted to see what my money was going to get me. I won't make that mistake again.

Very prompt in coming to give estimate and also to do the actual work. Explained what he did and showed how we can do touch up work ourselves. Owen also gave us his leftover supplies for future touch ups. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and would certainly use him again.
