The carpenter who installed shelving and built shoe organizer in my master closet did not perform painting as agreed upon. I had just moved into my new home when I called Warren, the owner of Lease a Husband, desperate to find a painter who could complete the job that week. Other painters I had contacted either did not return my call or stated they were booked until January. Although it was a small job, Warren came out 2 days later, gave me a quote and he and his painters took care of the job that morning. Warren and I went to Lowe's where he selected the paint and I paid at the register for materials. Warren was very professional and took pride in his work. The prior carpenter left pencil marks and drawings on the closet walls which Warren removed with my daughter's eraser and the painters re-painted wall behind shoe shelves to cover pencil drawings. Ricardo, the painter, even stained 2 of my new closet poles to match the other 2. I hadn't even requested this and was not charged extra. Although the painting (prime plus 2 coats) took much longer than initially quoted, Warren and his team refused to charge me extra, even after I told them to bill me for their extra time. My husband and I were both very impressed with the job Warren and his painters did. I would highly recommend him and plan to call Lease a Husband for future projects!

I called to make an appointment for an estimate. He came to look at what I needed done. After assessing the job he asked if I had time because he thinks that he can do everything right now. I took the day off so he finished the job in about two hours. Then he left.
Description of Work: Warren hung some mirrors, assembled a bed, chairs and fixed a coffee table. He also installed two shower heads.

Warren was very friendly and did a great job. He was here for just under 3 hours and I'm very happy with the service and price. It's so great to finally hire someone that didn't hose me with extras and fees. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone needing a handyman.
Description of Work: Repaired a damaged fence gate that my dog chewed through. Replaced the wood pickets, reinforced the bottom and readjusted the door latch on both gates. He also adjusted my garage door lock so it would close properly.
I had a list of items that had been needing repair for a long time but had been caring for my mother and hadn't been able to get to them. I found Lease A Husband and called Warren Hearne. He answered and we set a date for an estimate which I later had to change. Then he had to delay a starting date but finally the work got underway. His method of separating the supplies billing from his own was different but if it works for him, it was fine with me. He got his equipment set up, then went to pick up the materials (he had emailed me the list he had prepared before as to what he would need). Home Depot called with the bill and I gave them my credit card #. Once he returned the work got underway. The old soffit material was removed and new put up with venting. All was painted to match the original paint. He had to jack up the overhang to remove and replace the column in front. He added a second beam to correct a sag and put shelves between them. They turned out well and I have put fall decorations on the shelves for the time being. He replaced the faucet and then had a hard time separating the old drains in the sink from the pipe - the need for a p-trap and the other corroded pipe were unexpected and took up a lot of time. The rest of the items were done well and each night he left everything very clean and neat. He and the helper that came with him 2 days were very pleasant to have around and did a great job on everything. Being able to have these odds and ends taken care of really gave me a lift. I told him to have them done made my heart sing - they had been hanging over my head so long, as I didn't know anyone who could and would do them and to have them finished with everything cleaned up afterwards was terrific. I am already starting on a second list of things needing repair. Also, I have a very sociable, energetic puppy and Warren and his helper took him in stride - not really related to the work but it helped that they weren't bothered by him.
Description of Work: 1. Replaced panes of glass in 2 different windows. 2. Replaced front soffits & vents in the front of the house. 3. Replaced a rotting support beam with 2 beams having shelves between them in front of the house. 4. Removed, rebuilt and painted 2 sections which had been eaten through by carpenter ants next to the sliding glass door. 5. Replaced a faucet fixture in the kitchen then discovered the need for replacing badly rusted drains and a p-trap. While redoing that, another pipe was discovered that was rusted through which he then replaced. 6. Removed paint that had been on 3 windows for years. 7. Caulked around the bathtub. 8. Hung a large mirror over a bedroom dresser. 9. Attached weather stripping to one door.

Warren was extremely professional as soon as he arrived. Once he surveyed the work, the confirmed the estimated price we discussed on the phone. He was able to quickly remove a garbage disposal that other plumbers had said would be impossible to remove without a saw because of the amount of rust around the connections. With a little bit of WD-40 and some clever ingenuity, he was able to remove the old garbage disposal. During the install, Warren provided me with tips and tricks so I could tackle the same type of work in the future if need... but I'll probably just call him. When Warren removed the old vanity lights in the master bathroom, he discovered several holes that were covered up by the lights. He patched the holes before replacing the lights and did not charge any additional money for the extra work. He actually decreased the cost of hanging the vanity lights because we were unable to paint the wall while the puddy was drying. He offered to come back and finish, but since it was an easy fix I decided I would handle it myself. I will definitely be hiring him again.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a extremely rusty garbage disposal. Replaced seal around the other kitchen sink that was leaking. Replaced vanity lights in the master bathroom and patched holes in sheetrock.

This was the second time I used Warren. Again he did not disappoint. What should have been an easy job again turned to be a bit more challenging. My old window shades were removed without any difficulty. Unfortunately my new shades were just a bit to wide for the windows. But as usual Warren was determined to make me happy and was able to find a solution. Not sure what he did but he installed them beautifully. They look great and I was very pleased. He also helped me put together a shelving unit I purchased unassembled. Warren takes a lot of pride in his work. He is a perfectionist and this is refreshing to see!!

This is the THIRD time I have used Warren and he continues to do a great job. My jobs for Warren so far have not been big money makers for him but he continues to help me. This time he again replaced two window shades. He also fixed an old florescent kitchen light fixture that had not been working for years. In fact over the years I have had many contractors tell me the hold box had to be replaced. Warren was able to fix original fixture by installing a new housing etc... he ended up saving me a great deal of money and headache. An additional man with him also repaired some sheetrock as well as a faucet in a bath tub. Warren also added additional custom shelves for me in my master closet. I will continue to use Warren - he will be my go to guy for anything I need done at my house. He will be providing me a quote for landscaping, pressure washing and painting the exterior of my house.
I called Warren during the week and he was to able do the work on the following Saturday.I purchased 3 toilets from Lowe's and Warren offered to go pick up them up. When he got to Lowes they were unable to find the toilets which had already been paid for - he waited for an hour while they located. After having a bad experience with a previuos plumber I was pleasantly surprised with how smoothly things went with Warren. He was very detailed and took his time in doing the job right. It took him longer than expected as the toilets I purchased were more difficult to install. Nonetheless, he honored his original quote for the work. He was also very neat as he was working.

On August 2 at 8:05, Warren and his three-man showed up to do the work. I had 11 fans that needed cleaning, five of which were ceiling fans, and the other 6, which were portables. I also needed my shed room cleaned out and swept. I had rats that kept scattering eating my bird seed, so I bought some rat traps that Warren's crew set out. Warren also told me to buy an aluminum garbage can that had a lid a lid at a hardware store to store the bird seed in rather than an open bucket. That way, the rats could not steal my ducks' food as they had been doing. Warren and his crew caulked several areas in both bathrooms, moved a TV onto the floor for a pickup by the Salvation Army, and put a newer flat screen TV in its place by my computer. This new TV had been in my closet since october 2011, but I could not lift the old one since it was too heavy. The guys cleaned up after themselves when they left, which impressed me. I have had many contractors who have worked in my home over the years, but many of them were in such a hurry to leave after they completed the work that they failed to clean up their work areas. Warren's men have a strong work ethic and are used to hard work; they are also quite eager to please the customers they serve. They are polite and considerate of others' property and want to be sure everything is put back in its proper place as well. Therefore, I would certainly recommend Warren Hearne at Lease a Husband to anyone who needs odd jobs performed in his/her home but has not had enough time or manpower to get the jobs done. Warren's company may be qualified to do more extensive work such as building decks, painting, installing tile or laminate loors, and other tasks. However, I can only attest to what he did in my home, which was a series of odd jobs that had accumulated over time. Thank goodness for companies like his that take on small ,jobs. Not everyone has a large, costly job that needs to be completed in his/her home. Jeannine HornHouston, Texas
Description of Work: I contacted Warren about a week ago and he came out to give me an estimate., which he later emailed me. He was very thorough, walking through my house and taking photos. I pointed out specifically what needed to be done. When I asked him how many would be working on the job, he assured me at least three other workers would show up at the designated time. Warren is a professional with a sense of humor, but is very detail oriented. i appreciated his thoroughness.

I contacted Lease a Husband after leaving calls, emails and online questionnaires with six other businesses (who ultimately didn't respond, were unavailable or were way too expensive). Warren, the owner, answered my call and offered to come by and give a quote later that same day. When he arrived that day, Warren was professional, polite and personable and was able to offer some 'do it yourself' solutions to save money, as well as options that I hadn't considered. (First visit...he made one repair on the spot and never charged me.) His initial grasp of what I wanted and solutions for my issues impressed me; so it was really just a matter of price that would decide if I was going to use the company. My quote was delayed due to some new software they were using but it was worth the wait -- the quote included materials and labor and was extremely reasonable. Warren worked with my schedule to determine his next visit. When he came by, he brought his master carpenter and they spent a good hour with me listening to my ideas, discussing options and the layout of the cabinet and shelving in the nook. Then, to my surprise, they casually strolled the rest of my house giving advice on other items they noticed. I was then totally convinced that I'd made the right decision hiring Lease A Husband when they fixed a ceiling fan that hadn't worked in two years (and again...didn't charge me for it!) Once the work on the cabinet and shelving on the nook began, I decided I wanted to use a tv wall mount arm. He took the wall mount, tested out the logistics of how it would work at his shop and brought it to my home to demonstrate. Despite knowing full well that the mount would be restrictive and not provide me with the options I wanted, he still put everything in place to make sure I understood why we'd have to go another route. They were very nice and patient with me throughout the job. And I can't say enough about the owner, Warren -- he kept me informed and was extremely dedicated to getting everything done (did I mention he worked on the 4th of July?), to my specifications and with a definite eye to quality. All in all, it took about 3 days to complete -- the cabinet and shelving came out beautifully! Anyone seeing the nook would think that it was a part of the original build of the house. I'd suggest you Lease A Husband if you want someone to provide reasonable, high quality solutions to your home improvements needs.
Description of Work: Constructed a built in cabinet and shelving for a 20 foot nook; sealed leaky door frame. Fixed a leaky toilet and fan (even though it wasn't part of my quote)

This guy is great! He made the appointment to come out, showed up on time and did a wonderful job repairing our three doors. We had called others who thought the job was to small, but Warren came anyway. While he was there my husband hired him to finish a fence around his small garden to help keep the rabbits out. Very professional, prices reasonable and great work. I have used him twice more since this appointment and I have been thrilled with his work. Excellent!

I called Mr. Hearne and set up a day and time when we could meet to see everything I needed to be done. He took pictures, emailed me the estimate and I in turn set up a date which was convenient for both of us. He specified the time he would start. We picked up the materiials needed and the work began. My neighbor has many dogs and unfortunately the area by the outside of the door that needed to be replaced was infested with fleas. We did all we could to keep them at bay. Even though there was not too much we could do at this point, they were real troopers and finished the work anyway. As stated previously I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: the job was done very professionally and very well. Mr. Herane installed a garage entry door and did some reparirs to my chimney and roof. While doing the work he discovered that I needed something extra done to the roof. He completed the extra work but, did not charge extra. I was very impressed and would definitely use Mr. Hearne again.

Description of Work: I have a rental home that the couple has over loaded the master closet rails. The rail supports had pull away from the walls and already been repaired once for this issue. I called Warren and he went to the home the same day. His repair was quick and the couple said he was very kind and neat in his work. The workmanship was excellent. Beautifully built shelves and painting was excellent. They cut all the boards in my garage and installed them. Totally cleaned up everything. The caulking and painting was also excellent. Cannot say anything against their work. Very talented guys who took pride in their work. The only problem I had was they were not punctual at all. Was suppose to arrive at a certain time and was 2 hours late. Needed more materials, left 2 of the men at my house and was gone almost 2 hours before returning. The men had completed what they could, so sat around until the other came back with materials. A complete waste of time because the other men could not do anything at that point. It should have taken 45 minutes at the max to get materials and return. To me it showed lack of respect for his workers and also his client. The same thing happened the second day. I would highly recommend them as far as their work is concerned, but if time is an issue you might want to look elsewhere.

Response from Lease A Husband - We Do Home Improvements
Its unfortunate that we would have a customer that felt this way, but we can only and always provide excellent customer service. We would never abandon our crew, but there are times when you have to wait on merchandise (especially paint to be mixed or others ahead of you) when visiting the home improvement centers. We are not an excuses company, but I will say that me and my crew have been together for over 10 years and they know. Let me just publically apologize to Ms. Anderson and hope that she enjoyed our finished work. We will continue to move forward in working towards better customer service and hopefully she will contact us again, repeat calls are even better referrals.

He did a very professional job, had a great attitude and did not try to charge more than he quoted even though he ended up having to basically do a custom job due to the type of door size we were dealing with. Great work and attitude. Would definitely hire him again.

My neighbor and I were receiving quotes in the $1200-1800 range. I wanted to try one last place. I called "Lease a Husband" and was immediately speaking with Warren Hearne. I didn't have to wait for a salesman to call me back and set something up, he set up a time to meet later that day! No other company has come out on the same day to give a quote. Mr. Hearne said that the fence was still salvagable and that he could replace the posts for a fraction of the cost of replacing the whole fence. He placed the order with Home Depot, I called and paid, and he then picked up the materials and dropped them off at my house. This project was completed before some companies even called back for an estimate! The level of professionalism remained high throughout the entire project. The work was done exceptionally well and there was no mess left for me to clean up, they took care of it all. He even cut down a tree for me! My neighbor and I are so very pleased with the work done. I am already planning other projects that need to be done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

great. However, by 6:00 p.m., I was so exhausted and beat from all the activities of the day with the installation of 5 doors that had taken all day, I called Warren and asked if he could perhaps come by Tuesday. My neighbor called me at 7:00 a.m, the next morning (Tuesday, May 1), and told me that a home improvement guy was at the back of my townhome! I had just awakened, so I quickly put on some shoes and went out back--and there he was--J.C.--one of the Lease a Husband workers. He said Warren had told him I needed some painting done! I showed him what I needed, as well as a few other little tasks (other than painting), and he gave me prices. So we went to Home Depot and bought the supplies, and that afternoon he was painting the OUTSIDE of the front door and the OUTSIDE hardy plank trim around the two new doors on the back of my townhouse--my new French doors and my new back kitchen door! J.C. is a wonderful painter, as well as he likes to paint--he's extremely neat and never dropped one drop of paint! I was amazed! Had I painted those doors and walls, I would have had paint all over me and everything else! J.C. was very courteous, nice, considerate and pleasant while he was working in my home doing the painting and other tasks. He paints very well. He 'cuts' around areas with tape to stay within the correct space. His goal is to make his customer very happy with the results of his work, and it shows. Because of an incorrect match of 'old paint,' we were given a color that just didn't match or work on my inside walls and the inside of the new doors, but we did finally get the correct color, and J.C. re-painted over that mismatched color on the inside doors and 2 walls, and made everything perfect!!! It just took a little more time, and cost me more money, but that was because of the crazy color that Home Depot 'matched' from the old door frame of the old back door!?? That first color they 'matched' for my inside color was just way off! But J.C. wanted me to be happy and pleased, and agreed to paint over all that had been painted inside with the correct color. Now the inside work he did looks perfect!!! The OUTSIDE colors are also perfect and the doors look GREAT!! J.C. also carefully cleans up his paint pans, rollers and brushes very nicely after each day's painting. J.C. also reinstalled a bi-fold closet door that had fallen about 9 months ago. He also replaced two toilet seats for me, and he put a sealer on my 'new' porcelain tile floor even though the owner of the company where I purchased the tile last year, and who installed it said it didn't need to be sealed; but, I disagreed. I discussed this with J.C. and he said it can be sealed, and he put one coat on the porcelain tile--and it looks 100% better!!! Thanks for all your hard work, J. C.!!!! When I need more handyman tasks done, I will be calling you back! I am pleased with ALL the work J. C. did for me!!! :)
Description of Work: I contacted Warren on the morning of April 30, 2012 and explained that I needed a handyman to do work in my home, which work would primarily consist of painting the outside and inside of five new doors I was having installed in my townhome on April 30, 2012. I stressed to him I needed someone to at least paint the OUTSIDES of these doors for now, as the 'piranahs' of the HOA, Board of Directors AND the management company were on my back--and they are all very difficult, overbearing, and unrealistic to deal with, as usual--so I at least needed the OUTSIDES of my new doors painted quickly. I also told Warren that, of course, I needed the insides of these doors painted, and also that I wanted to have the complete inside wall painted where the door was installed, but the outside painting at this time were most important. He mentioned that he could probably be out after 5:00 that afternoon (April 30, the day the doors were being installed), and I said that was

I was looking for someone to replace an entry door leading to my garage. I didn't know anyone personally who did this type of work so I joined Angie's List. I called several contractors who were in my search criteria. I found Lease A Husband and tried them out too. They were by far the cheapest quote that I received and they responded quickly too. Warren was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing. From the time I called to the time the service was performed was just a 3 day window. The first day I called the next day Warren came to take measurements and the third day I had a new door. EI was very please with this entire experience and I will definitely Lease A Husband again.
Description of Work: Replaced and entire door and frame.
I met the owner at a mixer that his company host every other month. I shared with him my previous experiences with other contractors and he assured me a new and better experience...he simply said, "Lease A Husband", and I did. Now, I'm very glad that I did.
Description of Work: The Lease A Husband crew installed a three level custom deck approximately 12' by 19' in the back yard. Then they removed three-fourths of my homes carpet out and replaced it with Burmese Walnut hardwood flooring. Finally, the owner, Warren Hearne, personally installed the hardwood on my stairs, really he did the complete install himself...I was amazed and he was amazing.
