 + 0 moreWarren was able to squeeze me into his schedule the day after calling him (came by in the evening after working all day on large flooring job). I was a few minutes late getting home & he was kind enough to wait. I had a minor issue with my garbage disposal that he fixed in a couple of minutes. He also taught me a neat trick in case it happens in the future! He didn't charge me for the trip, although I felt the need to at least tip him for his great response, help, & winning attitude. We will definitely be using Lease a Husband for all of our future home improvement needs!

 + 0 moreNow I understand why Warren has such high ratings on Angie's List. I called him yesterday afternoon asking him to help me with some general repairs and even though he was very busy, he knew I was expecting company and squeezed me into his schedule the following morning. Warren is professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. I've had several handymen come out to my home, who didn't seem to know what they were doing or suggested costly solutions to very minor problems. Warren explained what needed to be done and discussed options. And it was very clear to me that he isn't the type of person that would try to rip you off! For example, I thought I needed weather stripping replaced on my doors...and it turns out that only one of four strips had peeled off. Warren showed me how the door was still sealed and how the weather stripping was still in good shape. He could have made me feel very stupid (like other repairmen have), or replaced it unnecessarily to charge me, but instead he was considerate and honest with me. I will definitely call Warren again! I highly recommend him and will definitely tell my friends and neighbors about him.

 + 4 moreA plus plus for LAH. They worked at my home for a week. Warren is skilled and very picky--everything looks excellent--as close to perfect as possible within budget--they were more careful than I would have been. He and his assistants were delightful and efficient. They were very careful about explaining everything and checking with me if there was any question about my requests. I especially appreciate the great care taken to match paint and grout colors--as if it were their own home. He pointed out and touched up many, many little things that were not on my list, yet the estimate did not change. When a hidden (but not surprising) need for a larger repair was discovered, he took me through it step-by-step. They gave me many helpful recommendations for things that were not on my list. Clean-up was thorough and consciencious. I have already recommended "LAH" to several people and will call them with my next project.

 + -1 more3 pieces of furniture had been disassembled by movers in a recent move. Warren re-assembled my waterbed, a glass doored bookcase and huge armoire. It was tough since he had not disassembled the items so didn't see how everything was put together before being reduced to a pile of pieces. There were a lot of pieces and a lot of screws, especially the waterbed -- which took a long time to re-assemble. Warren was able to show up the next day after I called for an appointment, which was appreciated since I had been sleeping on the hard sofabed for almost 2 weeks. He is very meticulous and thorough with great attention to detail. His prices are very, very reasonable. I hired him again to install a new garbage disposal. He was able to work me in within 2 days. I am hiring him again to do some grout work and install ceiling fans.
Description of Work: 3 pieces of furniture had to be disassembled to be moved to a new house. Warren re-assembled the furniture.

 + -1 moreI callled on Friday, was told he would be here at 3-3:30. No show. Then Saturday evening Warren called and said I had spoken to someone else the day before, so kind of miscommunication I guess, so could he come by in 20 minutes? I said sure. He asked me to text him my address, I did, including the name of my subdivision. No show again. Unbelievable. After the reviews I read I am very disappointed.

Description of Work: Mr Hearn removed 2 sets of sliding closet doors and replaced them with hinged doors (4 doors total). He then painted them and they are perfect ! He takes such pride in his work and follows through. He thinks the job through before proceding...and offers positive suggestions. I will not hesitate to call him again. And his prices are beyond resonable. I've had handymen do work before and they were so overpriced. He is a treasure.

 + 0 moreMy husband bought a new backdoor and installed a dog-door in it. However, taking the old door and frame out and putting the new door and frame in, was another story. So, we hired Warren (Lease A Husband). I called early in the week and he came out the very next Sat. He was on time and very professional! The price was very fair and the work was excellent! He got to work right away and did not waste any time. Upon our request, he took the old door with him. We are pleased to have found someone who can help us out with house repairs, when needed.
Description of Work: Replacing backdoor to home. Taking old backdoor and frame out & replacing it with a new backdoor and frame. Also, new door hardware installed (lock, etc.).

 + 1 moreMr. Hearne took my dresser mirrors to his workshop and secured them in the frame (loosened by the movers during my move). He then built wooden blocks and attached them to the back of the mirrors and then attached them to the back of my dresser! I bought a new kitchen track light so that I could see the back area without squinting. He had to build a round disk to secure the track lighing in place. Once the disk was installed, he grouted it in place and let it set for a couple of days. He then returned, installed the track lighting and painted the disk. Just like all the rest of his work, it looks fabulous!! Now the back of my kitchen is no longer dark and it even lights the inside of my pantry!!
Description of Work: Repaired bedroom dresser mirrors and added wood mounts to attach to dresser. Built round disk and installed new kitchen lighting to the ceiling.

 + -1 moreOverall, the experience was good. Lease a husband help to alievate some stress by completing the job in one day. He tore down an eye sore of kitchen counter overhead, and covered the header with some wood for a nice visual effect; repaired a bathroom cabinet, moved a bathroom light fixture. Gave me some advice on furture projects, and he followed up by texting phone numbers of people that could the additional work, such and a carpet guy and a shower door installer. Would recommend using this company again.
Description of Work: I call Lease a Husband on March 27th within 15 min I received a return phone call from Warren Hearne. Warren asked me to send him of list of possible repairs needed. On Friday I sent a text message requesting a confirmation of my appointment date and time. Warren responded saying we would meet on Saturday @ 8a. We did not meet until NOON! He came out and wrote down of list of things I wanted repaired or had concerns with. The following day I received and itemized price list via emailed. I was told that there would be a min charge of $365.00 for my visit and I could choose from my list of services needed. Example; kitchen island overhead demo $240.00 and cabinet repair $125.00, total $365.00. Two days later he came out and immediately began to work. Now he is professional, knowledgeable and had great suggestion on how to make an ordinary room unique. I WILL USE HIM AGAIN, he is helpful, a hard worker and a funny guy. Downfall of my experience , Warren is tardy for the party. He was 2.5 hours late for our first meeting, and that was after he changed the inital meeting time and 45 minutes the second time!!!!!. Also I don't think I should be required to $365.00 per visit, so for smaller jobs I will be forced to use another handyman.

As is customary with the service provided by Lease A Husband, he installed what I purchased but also provided suggestions on a system that would've worked just as well for a third of the cost. His knowledge of seemingly all things residential makes LAH services more invaluable as I know I'm being given sensible, low cost choices. Next time, I'll ask first and purchase later!

 + 0 moreHe arrived promptly and begin work on removing the old light fixture and installing the new ceiling fan. It was a little tricky because of the way the pre-existing ceiling mount had been placed, but he worked with it until he was able to get the ceiling fan installed. The next project was the ceiling-mounted hardware for the drapes at my patio door. Just as all of the earlier projects, Mr. Hearne put them up with the exact measurements to where I wanted them. Before he left, I outlined what I needed done on his next visit and confirmed my appointment date and time.
Description of Work: Mr. Hearne installed a second ceiling fan, drapery hardware for my patio door and hung my curtains. He took my dresser mirrors to reinforce them and prepare for remounting to my dresser on his next trip in April.

He remained until everything was complete without complaint, and was able to make another appointment for more work before leaving for the day. I would recommend, and have already recommended, his company to co-workers, family and friends! We made an appointment for my next project, and I am in the process or compiling a new list for near future projects. As I told Mr. Hearne, I wished that I had known about his company years ago. I am very pleased!!

 + -1 moreWarren was called out to do some handywork that I cannot do. He hung 2 ceiling fans with lights in two bedrooms with 10 ft. ceilings. He put the gasket back around the back door. As he was leaving, he noticed I had moved the furniture from the library to the living room, because I', changing that into a 4th bedroom. I asked about bolting the bookshelves to the wall and what kind of bolt I needed. He said "wait" I have that in my truck. and bolted the bookcases for me free. I think he went above and beyond the call of duty. I would recommend this honest mand giving man to anyone who needed handywork done.
Description of Work: I needed celing fans hung and a seal resealed on the foot of the backdoor.

 + -1 moreWarren did texted me to say he was running late. When he got hear he started on the sink. He needed to get parts for that so he changed the shower head and the outdoor fixture before he went for supplies for faucet. Only comment, he didn't have caulk for outdoor fixture and he did take numerous phone calls. But I would not hesitate to recommend him or use him again.
Description of Work: Fixed a leaking faucet, changed out a shower head and changed out an outdoor fixture. Did a good job, I would recommend using him.

 + -1 moreI arranged the appointment with Warren about a week before the date. He corresponded via text to confirm a date. On the day of the appointment, he texted me that he was running late due to traffic. I had purchased a plastic dog door earlier. When he arrived, he carefully looked at our steel door and the dog door. I asked that he try to use metal screws instead of the plastic screws that came with the dog door. He left for Home Depot to buy metal screws. In the end, the metal screws did not work, but I appreciated his effort. The job took longer than I expected, but the final result looked good. He put a little weather stripping between the dog door and back door so that there would be no air leakage.

Warren came to my home and provided a free estimate for a variety of tasks - including door and window replacement. He even left a T-shirt. :) He was great about taking measurements and suggesting materials and vendors. Once I was ready, I gave him a call and we made a couple appointments. He came out, replaced my front door and replaced a faucet in the bathroom. I'd recommend him to friends. I found him to be capable, friendly, honest, and versatile. He is exactly the kind of person I hoped to find when I sign up for Angie's List.
