Mr. Beasley provided an estimate to Remodel the Master Bath including a frameless shower. In the estimate he included $750 for a new tub, $2,200 for the shower. The tub cost is $550 and the shower about $1800. Now, there is no problem with making a profit on these items but, after the total was made, he added another 22+% profit. In essence adding profit to his profit. In an effort to get a more reasonable work scope we scaled the project back to just the bath tile work. We are looking to do an under counter tub but he seemed to not know how or if that could be done. We sent an email on 9/25 -- that's almost one month ago. There was no reply. We sent an email on 10/5 -- that's over two weeks ago. There was no reply. The last communication from Mr/ Beasley was on 9/16 - well over a month ago. In our last email, we asked that, if he was uncomfortable with the job or just would prefer to not do it, to let us know. He just blew us off with no response. In summary, he may be expensive or not but there is no excuse for being rude and unprofessional.

Robert's team arrived in a timely manner, but one piece of the kitchen counter was not ready when the installation began. As a result, very little could be accomplished until that remaining piece was delivered that afternoon. Once all of the pieces were available, the installation went smoothly, although there were a couple of hiccups. Part of the bathroom backsplash was cut too long and had to be adjusted before it could installed, and the peninsula in the kitchen was not level and had to be adjusted. Since the installation was late starting, the tile on the backsplash could not be completed in the single day. The tile team had to return the next morning to complete the grout work. The plumber arrived the second day to connect the sinks and faucets in both rooms. Because of the delay to the backsplash, the final sealing step did not occur until the third day. Even though there were a number of things that didn't go smoothly during the installation, the team handled everything with professionalism, and the final results were excellent.
Description of Work: New granite countertops were installed in both the kitchen and the guest bathroom. The contract covered only the labor of fabrication and installation, since the granite had been purchased and stored for some time.

the section of granite that was not ready when the job started was a piece that needed to be recut due to the walls being out of square. we rushed it thru the fabrication process and returned the same day to complete the job. the splash in the bathroom was cut as planned and needed to be modified on site as all splashes are done in bathrooms. the peninsula being out of level has nothing to do with the granite installers but they did spend lots of time shimming the entire kitchen and leveling all the pieces so the seams were tight. anytime existing cabinets are not level we have to shim the granite to get it level which takes some time. the tile backsplash was installed in a very timely manner and grouted the second day. cannot do much better than that. plumber was on time and finished quickly. we cannot predict all possible problems we will encounter during an install, but I do think we handled it as quickly as we possibly could.

This was a great experience. All the contractors arrived just when they needed to; at one time there were 7 guys in my kitchen, all working around each other to complete their individual jobs. Each of the contractors was very proficient. I could not be happier with the entire experience and would use them again without reservation.
Description of Work: They provided us with 85 sf of granite countertops. They also arranged for tile setters and a plumber to install our backsplash, faucet and cooktop. Everyone was very professional, arriving on time and keeping the work area (my kitchen) very clean. The entire process only took one day and 2 half days. From start to finish this was a seamless experience and the results are outstanding!

They came out in the morning and I gave them the spec sheet to get the granite ready for the stove. The next day, the stove company had told me they cut the granite wrong, it was too wide in the opening. I tried to resolve the issue, and they made an appointment on their own. They had texted me at 9:15 in the evening telling me they would be there in the morning. I was unable to see this since I was out of town and asleep. He is very rude when I try to get in touch with them and there has not been any follow up since.
Description of Work: A slab of granite was removed from the counter. He was going to re cut it and put back on for the stove.

the part of this that is missing is the fact that we did not charge the clients credit card when we found out that the job was incorrect, even though we had the credit card information. when we did get in touch with the client and resolved our differences on timing, we were told that there was extra material and could fix the problem. the cooktop was not onsite when we went the first time but a spec sheet was given to us. we made the mistake of cutting the granite to fit the cabinet. The client wanted us to bring the strips of granite we cut off from the first visit and glue them back on. that is impossible because the strips were broken as they were cut. we left the house with the understanding that all was good and we had done the right thing. so I emailed the client to ask why she would post such a negative review on Angie's list after we fixed this issue and had still not charged any money. I was told that we used a piece of granite from the garage to fix the issue that was not available. I am not sure where the home owner was at the time my crew was digging thru their garage, but we had no idea the piece was not available for us to use. A little help from the owner would have been nice. I doubt my guys took granite and used it without some sort of "ok". The only thing I can offer at this time to please this client is to not charge the credit card at all. This is my way of staying honest and letting people know that we are not out to take money from anyone. we have never taken down payments for any jobs because we are confident in our work and ability. we want happy customers, but I know I will not be able to please everyone all the time.

Robert Beazley and his crew did very nice work on two houses when we were moving from one to the other.. They worked well with other contractors. I continue to get frequent complements on the kitchen in our new house. His bid was substantially the lowest of the several we got. One reason why he is so reasonable in his prices is that (at least as of 10/2012) he does not maintain an office staff. I found it best to communicate by email, and in general he answered messages that evening when he was done with his day's work. I was fine with that. Just be aware of it if you are more comfortable with being able to reach a receptionist during daytime hours.

Why would you post this negative review one year after the work was complete. I never told you I would not fix the tile, I explained that the tiles were broken when we arrived. bottom line is that the floor tile in your kitchen was installed poorly and does not have enough mortar under each tile. There are hollow areas under the tile and that is what causes tile to crack under pressure. We were walking on the tile carrying heavy granite, we did not drop any tools or granite on your floor. It was unfair to insist that we fix tile that were installed incorrectly to begin with, but we did it and moved on. I understand we will not please everyone all the time, but at least we did not walk out without fixing your problems. In addition I want to add that we are one of the only companies in town that will do the entire job without asking for any money down. That is the reason I had a hard time with the repair. You did not want to pay my anything until the tile was fixed. That was unfair and unreasonable considering how much work we had already completed for you.
The countertops are fabulous. I felt I had a whole team of people getting the job right . Hector and Jeremy were quick and professional and insisted on doing a quality job on the countertops. Some of the cabinets were unsturdy but they had a carpenter come out and sturdy up the cabinets. They had their own plumbers hook up the sink and faucet and even bought Mark out to inspect the quality. Great job , Stonecutters .

Robert arrived on time with an assistant. He was professional and courteous. I explained that I wanted to just replace the countertops and keep the current backsplash and we were going to install SS appliances because we were considering putting our house on the market. Robert quickly measured my countertops, including a section I had forgotten about (an over-counter ledge), and a desktop. I currently have Corian and have been considering granite for a while. I also know that it would be beneficial if we decide to sell our home. My major concern with a replacement is that we have molding, woodwork and trim that I was concerned about all over our kitchen, including full wood trimmed columns. Robert explained the process for the placement of the counters in each section of the kitchen. When we got to the desk, he said it would be difficult to place it because of the wallpaper and the backsplash. Robert discussed options and pros and cons. We also discussed the ledge which was initially installed first through the wall and then columns built on top of the counter. Robert discussed a few options including removing the moldings and column faces, inserting the granite and then reinstalling the molding and trim. We have painted moldings, columns and trim and my concern was if not an exact match we would have to repaint everything and not just touch up. Even though we decided not to install granite at this time, I was impressed with the detail of the consultation with Robert and the options he offered. We ultimately decided that the potential and quot;opening a can of wormsand quot; was not worth it at this time. I would definitely feel comfortable using Stone Cutters for installing granite.

We got three bids and Stone Cutters beat them all. They were timely and did a good job. I called the company after the installation with an issue and they came right out and fixed the problem. Simply put, I'd use them again.
Description of Work: Beasley runs a tight ship with conscientious workers. We recommended Stone Cutters to our neighbor and they are using them as well.
Robert came and quickly assessed the situation and made some suggestions that I had not thought of on style and ways to make the countertops look better. He clearly understood that I was looking for a popular style of stone that most people are happy with, but needed to stay within budget. Of the three estimates I looked at, his was by far the lowest for similar quality granite and even a better tile job. His quote was self-contained and did not include extras like and quot;moving the range.and quot; Frankly, at first I was a little worried that he was underbidding because he made such quick work of the estimate, but he was extremely responsive to my questions and I found that he really had quoted me for the entire job. We headed up to his shop to look at the stone, and he did a great job quickly explaining what he would likely do to make sure the stone looked correct. His crew came when he said they would and were very professional. They were careful to assess the install before actually doing the work and informed me of any issues before charging ahead. They ran into an issue with the cabinetry and informed me of my options and their recommendation, and then did a great job solving a tricky carpentry issue left by the person who installed the old countertops. They were also very careful in the removal of the old countertops because I told them that I was going to donate them to a person who could use them. The granite and backsplash are beautifully installed. Robert's design fixed an ugly multi-level issue between the sink and the window sill behind it. I also have a long counter top and it had to be seamed, but if you don't know where the seam is you would be hard pressed to find it. Robert came by to make sure everything was cleaned polished and sealed, and let me know that he would quickly come back if any issues arose. As a nice touch, they also left a granite cutting board matching the countertops. All in all I found that Robert and his crew are extremely efficient and easy to work with. I will say that you may feel like he is moving pretty fast, so make sure you ask any questions you have, he and his crew answered all of my questions (even the dumb ones) in a way that shows they had thought about the issues and made sure I understood the options and recommendations.
Description of Work: I was replacing the old laminate countertops with granite countertops to bring my house in line with the neighborhood as I am preparing to sell it. I replaced 56 sq ft of countertop with Santa Cecilia granite and 38 sq ft of back splash with 4x4 tumbled stone travertine tiles on the diagonal, and also added an under-mount stainless steel sink.

All of my experience with Stonecutters was impressive -- from my first call to final installation. Robert picked up my call on the first ring and came to my house to take measurements the next day. I had an estimate that night and began selecting granite just days later. Robert's warehouse manager, Melissa, is very knowledgable and helpful; and his installation staff are prompt, courteous, and top-notch craftsmen. My bathrooms and utility room are all beautiful. The installation was flawless and everything looks like new -- in fact, better than new.

They were able to give me an estimate over the phone that was lower than several other companies. They were able to see me 3 days earlier than anyone else. And they arrived promptly and installed an bottom mounted sink to my kitchen granite counter. Not only did they apply epoxy to hold the sink in place, but they also used two by forces to install permanent support bracing.

Company provided estimate based on a granite slab I had picked out. They went to see the slab and get the price from the wholesaler. Received estimate and agreed on work to be completed. Received a call during fabrication that the granite was crumbling on the edges so that we could not do a bull nose edge. This was the company's first time working with this type of granite. They had assumed it was similar to another type of granite. I had asked if we should stop and call the wholesaler about the material and was told that nothing could be done about it once they started cutting. The day of the installation I received a call that they would be late because they had to spend extra time because of the problems encountered in cutting the granite. After the installation, I inspected the granite and could tell where they had to put filler or expoxy where the granite had chipped during cutting. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Not only because of the chipping, but no caulking was done along the back edge, nor did it look like the granite had been polished. They did send someone out to fix some of the rough spots and he did polish the granite this time. The company did call the wholesaler afterwards and got a discount on the granite, however, I do not feel it was entirely the wholesalers problem. My recommendation to the company is that if they working with a new material, that a test cut be made to see how easy it is to work with. Also, I would have liked the opportunity to determine if I wanted the granite installed the way it was or purchase another slab that was easier to work with. Once it was installed, I was not only out for the cost of the granite, but also the fabrication and installation.

Robert, the owner of Granite Stone Cutters, did a great job from start to finish. He did everything promised on time and was knowledgeable and thorough. While deciding on the project, we had many questions. Robert worked with us on everything and guided us with good recommendations. I will use them again for future projects as well as recommending to family and friends.

I began by visiting their McKinney location and getting an estimate based on my measurements. Robert and Melissa were very helpful and were able to answer all of my questions. I took granite and travertine samples home and later went back to the showroom to finalize my color selection. Quentin then came to my home to obtain exact measurements and Robert finalized the quote. We scheduled the job and the installers arrived early the morning of the installation. As soon as the granite installers were finished, the plumber hooked up the plumbing and cooktop, and the tile installer began. The job was slated to take 2 days and was completed as promised. Once the job was complete, Sean came by to seal the granite, and ensure that everything was done properly and to my satisfaction. Minor punchlist items were taken care of promptly. Stone Cutters is very interested in customer satisfaction. I would definitely recommend them!
Description of Work: Stone Cutters installed granite countertops and a travertine backsplash in my kitchen. The price included demo and hauling off of the existing counterops and backsplash, as well as disconnecting and reconnecting the plumbing and cooktop. One reason I chose Stone Cutters is that they offered a turnkey job at a fair price. I didn't want to have to hire and schedule separate contractors for each stage of the job.

We called them and got through immediately. My husband described what we wanted done and gave rough measurements of all the pieces. The receptionist took down all the information and told us that there had been a couple of injuries on the work crew so they would not be able to service us immediately. My husband told her that it was not an issue. He was assured that someone would get back with him soon. We didn't hear anything from them for a week. We called again at the end of 1 week and left a message. We didn't hear from them for another week (2 weeks from initial contact). We called again and actually talked to a live person. The receptionist told us that they had some concerns with removing the piece of granite. My husband said ok and that we would sign a paper saying we wouldn't hold them liable if it broke. We were told that we would get a call back. It has now been 4 weeks and we have heard nothing from them at all. It would have been nice if they had just told us that they were not interested in our "small job" so we could find someone who would be interested. This "small job" was going to be a precursor to replacing all the counter tops in our kitchen but I guess we will need to find someone who is more interested in helping us.

Based on recommendations on Angie's List, I called and requested an appointment for an estimate for a granit or marble countertop for a bathroom. They wanted the measurements for the countertop which I supplied them before they would even come and give an estimate or bring me any samples. Because they are located in McKinney, and I live in Duncanville, they basicaly were not interested in my business and said it was really not worth their effort to drive that far for an estimate unless we were going to use their services.
