+ -1 moreWe have a mature tree with several low hanging branches that had grown in quite twisted making hard to cut and remove branches. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They were polite. Got right to the job at hand. Branches were moved to curb prior to leaving. Would highly recommend. This was my first time using Angie's List and service worked well.

+ -1 moreThis is the second time we have used Perfect Trees Service. We first used them when we moved into our house 3 years ago and needed trees trimmed, as well as a couple removed. Paul was easy to work with and had a great team. We were so pleased with the job they had done that I held on to his business card in case we might need his company's service again in the future. I'm glad that I kept his information because this spring when part of our tree fell into our neighbor's yard, I didn't have to spend time researching someone who could do the job efficiently, effectively, and provide professional service along the way. Paul provided an estimate and completed the work all in the same week and at a fair price. He was also always very responsive to my calls. Should we need tree services again in the future, I will definitely contact this company again.
Description of Work: Removed a tree branch that had fallen onto our neighbor's property due to a spring storm. Also, trimmed the effected tree, as well as removed a stump at the front of the house.

We like the fact that the same people have been on this crew for several years. All through the process, the foreman listed carefully to our requests and made sure we were pleased. They also came up with good suggestions for improving the look of a tree or shrub. The crew was very mindful of our property, worked safely, and were very thorough in cleaning up. We have used Perfect Trees several times now and have always been very pleased with the results this great crew provides.

+ -1 morePaul did a great job communicating with us throughout. His crew completed the work within the time frame he gave us. They were polite, courteous and communicated well. They quickly cut the trees down and removed them completely. Other than the 2 stumps you couldn't tell they had been there. The stump grinding team came out the next day and finished the work. Again they were easy to work with. Paul and his crew were cautious to make sure they cut the right trees, double and triple checking. They also worked with us about some rose bushes that touched one of the stumps. They discussed their concern about not hurting them. Although we told them it was ok to damage the roses, they still were careful and the damage was minimal. I would definitely use Paul again.
Description of Work: Paul had is crew cut down 2 trees and trim a redbud. One of the cut trees was a 30' oak. He also ground the stumps down for us.

+ -1 moreIt didn't 'go' at all. He either doesn't have his act together or he's just not interested in my business. Maybe a little of both. So be it. I will not recommend him to anyone any more. p.s. he tried to blame his on-line appointment issues on Angie's List. Hmmmmm.
Description of Work: It's more like what he 'didn't' do. Paul has done work for me in the past and I agree with many of the others who have rated him 'A'. But that was then and this is now: I called a week or so ago and left a very detailed message with all my data, asking for an estimate on residential tree trimming. His cellphone response includes something about using his on-line appointment service. So I thought I'd cover all my bases and plug in the information there, too. The system seemed easy and efficient. I got a confirmation e-mail shortly after asking for the appointment. I then went about organizing my day and activities around the appointment time. When no one showed up a half-hour after they should have, I called and got Paul directly. He launched into something about, 'Oh, gosh, sorry --- that online appointment system doesn't work and it keeps kicking out confirmation notices . . . ' Nice. If he knew that, and he had all my information, WHY DIDN'T HE CALL ME AND SET THE APPOINTMENT UP THE OLD SCHOOL WAY? Why didn't he call at all? He vaguely promised to come by the next day. To his credit, he did call and leave a message -- but it was during a time I had told him I wouldn't be available. I can't take calls and make appointments when I'm in a class! The tone of the message he left was sullen and grudging, as if he were doing me a big, fat favor to come give me an estimate. He asked me to text him my address, because he 'was on his way.' I did. Waited for an hour and then decided there are many other tree trimmers who would want my business. Done with him. How arrogant. I never did hear anything back from him about why he didn't show up today. I have better things to do than sit around and wait on him. that online

They were professional; cleaned up as they went. When they were done; had us look over the job to make sure we were satisfied.

+ 1 morePrimary job was to take out and stump an Oak who's root system was damaging the driveway and underground utility trench. This was a tight job since there was an underground utility trench next to the root system and between the tree to be taken down and the tree to be trimmed and limbed 3 other houses could have been damaged. The work went without a hitch: in by 9AM and out by 1PM. The crew was careful and quick and our yard, as well as our neighbors were all cleaned and swept. No utilities (or neighbors!) were damaged and the trimmed oak looked wonderful when finished. Got three quotes to perform this service. Perfect Trees was competitive with other quotes. They would be the first company I would call if I ever needed this service again.
Description of Work: Took down and stumped 30-year-old oak. Trimmed and limbed another 30-year-old oak. Both trees were located in a confined residential area.

Everything was included in their bid - including the removal. Other bids turned out to not include the removal in their bid. And the bid was 30% lower than other bids.

+ -1 moreI found Perfect Tree Service through their excellent reviews on Angie's List and spoke to Paul. He was very friendly, responded that day with a reasonable quote and said he could come the next day to take down the "stump" which measured 8' tall and was over 3' at the base. He noted the tree was inside and touching a fence that had been built around the tree, but thought it would not be a problem. The next day Douglas arrived with a crew and machinery, noting the tree's location and confirmed the fence would not be a problem. (It was also within a foot of the neighbor's garage). I noted on their truck it said they were insured and bonded which relieved me as I was having to leave for the day. When I returned I was amazed and delighted to see the tree gone to the ground, area was completely cleaned, and the fence didn't have so much as a scratch on it! Paul called to make sure I was satisfied before asking for payment. The job couldn't have gone better, the company couldn't have been more professional. Will absolutely use them again!

+ -1 morethat the trees would look naked, however they balanced the trees very well while protecting our roof and opening up much more light to the yard. They also thinned out our Red Oak in the back to allow a little more light through (right now it has perfect light, because it doesn't have its leaves back yet). As with the oaks out front, I was a little nervous about the tree looking naked, but I have to describe the work on that tree as pure artistry. The tree still looks very full and balanced. Paul also helped us identify other areas of the yard that needed attention, and now that the work is done I can see why. I would highly recommend Perfect Trees to anyone looking for tree services! + 0 morePaul Hanson is the only one that called back that didn?t care whether I was a current customer or not. He appreciates new customers as much as established customers. He came out on the Tuesday after the storm to give me an estimate. He explained in detail what needed to be done and why. I decided to pay an extra $50.00 to have the limbs taken away for shredding. The work was done the following Saturday of the same week. The crew did an excellent job. There are 2 things to be aware of next time. The estimate that I was given did not include the sales tax so I was a little bit disappointed that there was an additional $33.00 to the total on the day the service was provided. And, if you want to pay by credit card, make sure the crew has the credit card machine. Overall, I would use Perfect Trees Tree Service again.
Description of Work: The December 2013 ice storm did a lot of damage to my 26 year old Shumard Oak tree. I needed the broken branches cut off and the whole tree trimmed/pruned.

+ -1 moreThey arrived promptly at 9:30 a.m. in 20 degree weather and quickly went to work and were done around 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. The big elm overhung both houses and they did a great job of safely roping and bringing those branches down. The man in the trees was also wearing a safety harness and rope. They cleaned up as they went and stacked the branches along the curb about 6 or 7 feet high on one side of the front and the trunk pieces and more branches along the curb on the other side. Their price was fair and in the middle of three quotes. Incidentally my neighbor came home from work and liked their work so well that he asked them to trim one of his trees. They are very easy to work with and I will use them again.
Description of Work: . They took down a huge elm tree between my and my neighbor's houses plus another good sized elm and Chinese pistachio tree in the back yard and ground the stumps. I kept the wood chips to use as mulch. They also trimmed back a hedge of red tipped photinia from the driveway, removed one photinia and trimmed two oak trees in the back yard.. In the front they trimed an oak and a cedar elm to bring them up to code for over the sidewalk. i

By the way he completed the job when Plano was getting a light snow storm. They did a GREAT JOB! I will be calling them for any future tree trimming or tree removal needs and recommend them to anyone that asks. Payment was easy thru the website he gave me. Communication with him was great via phone, texting and internet. Paul made it easy for me.
Description of Work: I called Perfect Trees Tree Service and talked with Paul. I explained that I was interested in an estimate to trim 2 trees in my front yard. He explained what he does and told me he would get me an estimate by the next day. He called me the next day while he was at my home and I was at work. He walked me thru his estimate to trim both trees and clean up the interior of the trees. He offered to do the job for $325.00 with the Angie's List coupon. Very good price for that work. He explained that he would get the job done in the next few days. I was happy with that. Two days later I came home and the job was complete. It was better than expected.

+ -1 moreI met with Paul on Friday morning and he had his guys out on Friday afternoon. They did everything I wanted and was very happy. The following day I realized I wished I had one of the trees trimmed a little more. Today ( Feb. 6th, a snowy day) I saw the guys trimming one of my neighbors home and stopped by to ask the guys to trim a little more on one of the trees they trimmed last week. They stopped by about 20 minutes later and took care of what I asked. This is true customer service!!!

They chipped and removed the branches and leaves and removed sizable pieces of limbs and trunk. They ground the trunk and cleaned up afterwards. Price was very competitive.

+ -1 more.As a result of the the recent ice storm, I had several broken limbs. I called Paul at Perfect Trees and asked him to stop by and give me an estimate to cut them. Having used Perfect Trees for years, I trust Paul the owner and know he gives me the best deal he can so I seldom shop prices. He stopped by and estimated the work I wanted done at $400. That included cutting and removing one really large limb and several smaller limbs as well as doing a general trim on two fairly large trees. The guys did a great job. I had asked Paul to save the larger wood for firewood but he forgot to pass the word along to his crew so it go hauled ott. But to make things right, Paul delivered some cut timber he had been carrying around in his truck to my daughter's house which was a big boom to me. Paul always treats his customers fairly and commonly gives more than he is obligated to give.

+ -1 moreI had 2 overgrown Bradford Pear trees that were heavily trimmed and brought back into shape. Paul and I flagged tree branches that should be removed to protect the house. His 3 man crew came out the next day and did a great job in taking those limbs off and trimming and shaping the 2 trees. Branches were mulched and yard was raked and blown clean. Really good work and I will use them in the future.
