I called in the morning and talked to Paul. He came out about one hour later and gave me an estimate. I decided I wanted him to do the work and he had a crew out by noon. They worked all afternoon, cleaned up after themselves, and the results were wonderful. I highly recommend his services.

Paul was very punctual, efficient and quick with his quote, which he also provided in writing. The price was fair and I was able to schedule it for the following morning. Nick supervised the trimming and was very professional. He notified me by phone that my power line was damaged and I would need to call TXU. In addition, he notified me when TXU arrived to repair the line. I really appreciate Paul and Nick for their excellent customer service and communication! The trees look beautiful and 2 of my neighbors also used Perfect Trees, too, with great results. I will call Perfect Trees in the future.
Description of Work: Trimmed very large tree, raising canopy, balancing it out, removing branches interfering with power lines. Trimmed a smaller tree away from the house. They removed all debris and left everything tidy.

Paul came out and gave a very competitive bid for the work to be done. I told him that I had to leave for the weekend, but he said that he could get his folks out to do the work and we could do the final walk-through on Monday. When I got home, I was very pleased with all the work that had been done. Before they came, there had been a lot of dead limbs that were making the area look sloppy and muddled. After the pruning, everything looked clean, crisp and well-taken-care-of. We still have a nice canopy over head, and the trees look great. And, just for good measure, they cleaned the gutters!
Description of Work: Six large trees and four crepe myrtle trees pruned. Hedges and many trees along the alley trimmed. Gutters cleaned and small area of a garden tilled. Everything hauled off.

This contractor was prompt in returning my call. Gave me a good estimate. They asked me what I wanted to see after the trees were trimmed, a real first for me. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and then some extra work. All the workers looked and acted professional. They were fearless when running into a bee hive in my backyard. The results is that they did a lot of work but the trees do not look chopped up.
Description of Work: Cleaned dead wood and trimmed back 3 very large trees. The trees are taller than my one story home. They also trimmed bushes. Cleaned out gutters. And took away all the brush.

I called this company because of favorable reports on Angie's List, but my experience was not favorable at all. I had recently bought a home with two large trees in front which hung over the street and dropped debris on our cars parked in front. I asked for an estimate to trim the trees back from the street and Paul Hanson responded promptly. He gave a reasonable estimate, and we agreed that he would also trim the tree in the backyard. I was ill the day the work was done, and just looked outside briefly to see that things were clean (they were) before giving the supervisor a check. When I inspected the next day, I discovered that they had cut the front trees back some, but there were still a number of limbs hanging over the street. I left Paul a message expressing my dismay at the problem, I called about not being taken care of. He in turn left me a message saying they would come back and trim again, but warning that the trees would be asymmetrical and might look bad if they trimmed any more. I was distressed with this message, since he never gave me those dire predictions at his initial visit, when trimming those trees back from the street was the whole point of the job. But I asked him to trim the front trees more. This time, the crew left without talking to me, and I was simply amazed to discover later that there were STILL limbs hanging over the street, and this was about 3 weeks after the process began. At this point, I sent Paul an email so that everything would be clear to both sides. I told him that I wanted him to schedule a definite time when he would come in person and trim the remaining limbs that hang over the street, and that I wanted him to haul off the limbs and clean the area completely. Initially, he had given me a discount for stacking the limbs in front of my house for the city to pick up. This was fine with me, but it meant that we had already had to clean up the debris left by the city twice, and I wasn't going to do that again. Paul responded promptly that he would be there Friday morning at 9:30. Guess what? I was awakened at 8:40 on Friday morning to the sound of saws, and found that the crew had about finished their trimming by the time I got outside. Paul was not there. Had Paul done what was promised even on the third attempt, I would not have submitted a review. But I think I gave him more than enough chances to get it right, and he didn't.

Response from Perfect Trees Tree Service
IN RESPONSE TO THE MEMBER'S COLORFUL REPORT, I WISH TO SAY THAT ANYONE WHO OWNS A HOME WITH A TREE THAT HANGS OVER A STREET KNOWS THAT YOU DON'T JUST CUT OFF HALF OF THE TREE, IF I WENT AROUND TRIMMING TREES LIKE THE WAY SHE OBVIOUSLY HAD PICTURED IN HER HEAD I WOULD BE OUT OF A JOB IN ONE DAY." THERE IS AN ART TO WHAT I DO AND I MADE HER TREES LOOK WONDERFUL AS WELL AS RAISED THEM UP, AND REMOVED THE DEAD THAT WAS THREATENING TO FALL ON THE CARS. I ALWAYS AIM TO PLEASE, AND WHEN SHE CONTACTED ME ABOUT NOT HAVING ENOUGH LIMBS REMOVED I GLADLY WENT BACK OVER AND TRIMMED SOME MORE, BEFORE DOING SO I FELT THE NEED TO EXPLAIN TO HER THAT THE TREE WOULD NOT LOOK AS SYMMETRICAL AS IT SHOULD. OBVIOUSLY SHE DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE BEAUTY OF THE TREE, SHE JUST WANTED TO HACK OFF MORE AND MORE LIMBS. ON THE THIRD AND FINAL ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE MEMBER'S "TREE VISION" COME TRUE, MY SUPERVISOR WAS OUTSIDE WITH HER AND ASKED HER IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ELSE THAT WE COULD DO TO MAKE HER HAPPY, SHE SAID "NO, I WILL JUST HAVE TO WRITE A BAD REPORT ON ANGIE'S LIST". I PRIDE MYSELF ON GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND I TRIED MY BEST (3 TIMES) TO PLEASE HER, I REALIZE NOW THAT THERE IS NO PLEASING THIS MEMBER.

Paul Hanson, the owner, came over to give me an estimate. He told me he would arrive at 11:45 am and then called back to let me know he was arriving a little early and was that OK with me!!!! He offered me a very fair price when he heard I was an Angie's List subscriber. They started the work that very afternoon. They were very careful not to crush any of my landscaping under the trees and they cleaned up all the leaves, branches and other debris. The logs were stacked neatly on the curb and apparently they called the city because the next morning, bright and early, the city trash removers hauled it away. Shortly afterward the tree crew arrived and finished up the work by noon. While the crew was packing up, owner Paul Hanson, showed up to be sure I was happy with the work and to pick up his check. They were timely, efficient, respectful, neat and my trees look beautiful. I will hire this company again and recommend them to others.

I've had a cypress tree that I didn't really like. It gave good shade for the house but blocked out the sun so no grass grew below. The shedding needles were a hassle to clean and the tree is a water guzzler. The red oaks haven't been trimmed in several years. The large one has branches overhanging my house. I called Paul and he came in the same day and delivered his estimate. I had the tree removed the next day. The cypress was located in the corner of a fence but that seemed no problem at all. The crew showed up in the morning and took just over one hour (super fast) to remove the cypress and trim the two red oaks. The crew cleaned and raked the ground and hauled away all the debris. It was extremely fast, clean, professional.
Description of Work: Removed large ball cypress. Trimmed/cleaned large red oak. Trimmed/cleaned medium red oak. Trimmed a branch blocking satellite dish on another tree. Hauled away debris.

Job 1: I needed to get some trees trimmed and selected several companies from Angie's List to obtain estimates. Perfect Trees was the first company I called and the representative Paul Hanson offered to come out the same day and provide a bid. He did and since the price seemed fair and the crew was with him, I authorized Paul to proceed with the work. Paul walked the site with me to discuss what I wanted done and offered some suggestions, some of which we included in the job. He then walked the job with his site supervisor and lead trimmer and went over exactly what was to be done. Paul did not forget a thing that we had agreed to do. Once the walk through was done, the crew got after it and did all the work in about 4-5 hours. They did an excellent job of the trimming and did all that was agreed upon. Paul gave me a discount since I was an Angie member. I was very pleased with the whole process and most impressed by the quickness of the whole process! Job 2: It went great! The response was quick, the cost was fair and the work excellent. As a result of a recent storm, I discovered that I needed to have some broken and dead limbs removed from two trees. Having used Perfect Trees in the past, I contacted them to get an estimate. Paul Hanson came out with his crew a couple of days later, looked at the job and gave me an estimate that was discounted for being a past customer and Angie List member. Having used Perfect Trees in the past and finding their estimates to be very reasonable, I did not solicit other bids and authorized the work. The crew got after it, did a great job, hauled off all the limbs, cleaned up all debris and was gone within 3-hours.
Description of Work: Job 1: Perfect Trees came out and gave me an estimate to trim six trees to varying degrees. The estimate seemed reasonable so the work was performed the same day and without soliciting any other bids. Some trimming involved removing large branches which was done with no damage to home or property. All trimmings were cut up and hauled off by Perfect Trees. Service was excellent and the cost was very fair. I highly recommend using Perfect Trees. ($475) Job 2: 6-8 moderate-to-large, broken and dead limbs were removed from two trees on my property. ($300)

I called Perfect Trees late on a Friday afternoon and they said they'd send someone out the next day. The next morning Paul came and looked at the trees and to my surprise said they'd be able to do it that day. They showed up on time that afternoon with a supervisor and finished the job very quickly and cleaned up after they were done. I think the price was very reasonable and he was even willing to negotiate on the pricing. Also, there's a 10% off for Angie's List members even though it doesn't list it on the website.

I think Perfect Trees is a great company and I would recommend them to anyone. I had a great experience. Paul Hanson was quick to give me a bid was able to do the work right away. I was real lucky to catch him in between jobs. I thought he and his men were very professional and did a good job cleaning up after the job was completed. Paul also had his men pull up a few dead shrubs, free of charge. I have a neighbor that needs a tree removed and she is calling Paul today (after my recommendation).
Description of Work: I had 4 large trees cut down in the front yard and one large tree trimmed in the backyard. The tree in the backyard needed lots and lots of trimming. Perfect Trees had a crew of 3 men on the job. One was up in the trees trimming or cutting down and the other two were cutting up the large limbs and cleaning as they went.

I contacted Perfect Trees on a Thursday afternoon and the owner Paul came out the following day to give me an estimate. He was on time, very professional, and listened carefully to what I wanted done. After getting a much higher estimate the following Monday, I called him and said we wanted to use his company. I asked if there was any way his crew might be able to come that afternoon before our area was supposed to be hit by heavy rains. Paul hung up, called his crew to check on their progress at another job, and called me back to say they be able to get to my house by 3:30 that afternoon. Awesome! His crew was on time, polite, quick, and did a good job. The only complaint is a relatively minor one and that is there were quite a few leaves left over after the pruning was done. To be fair, though, we had not been doing a good job keeping up with falling leaves near our curb so the extra stuff they left just made the piles bigger. We were pleased with the service and would use them again

Paul Hanson returned my initial call very quickly. We agreed on a time to meet. Paul was prompt and friendly at our first meeting and quickly provided a verbal quote. The price was 1/3 - 1/2 of another Angie's List company, so we were very pleased with the price. Paul warned me about the stump grinding leaving piles of sawdust - which I already knew about. Paul gave me a written quote, but only when asked. Paul and his crew showed up early on the day of work. I wasn't home to watch the actual work being done; instead I saw it when work was about 95% done. The crew did an excellent job and completely cleaned up the yard (except for the stump sawdust, of course.) The tree was neatly stacked at the curb. It took about 4 hours for the entire job.
Description of Work: We had one, very large, 35-year-old Mulberry tree removed, its stump and one other tree stump ground down. We also had one branch of a pecan tree that was overhanging our neighbor's house trimmed back. The tree limbs were stacked at our front curb for the city to pick up.

I found "Perfect Trees Tree Service" on Angie's List. I called Paul to come out and give me a bid on taking out the mistletoe and dead wood from my very tall trees as well as doing the same for our HOA's common area. He was there in good time and gave me the lowest bids out of the three I had contacted. They worked safely and cleaned up both areas including hauling off all debris. Two of my neighbors were so impressed they hired them immediately. "Perfect Trees" did one job the same day and came out the next day to complete the other. The cost reflects my personal property plus our HOA common area.
Description of Work: Was asked to cut out all misteltoe and dead branches out of trees on two properties. The work was quickly done but safely. All areas were cleaned up and debris taken away.

I called PERFECT TREES TREE SERVICE on a Monday around noon. Paul Hanson, the owner, came out the same day. I requested that he give me a written estimate. He had no estimate forms so he took one of his coupons and wrote down the estimate on the back of it. He quoted me $950 to cut down the tree and haul away the debris. He gave me an estimate of $150 to do the stump grinding which he would sub out. He also told me that he would give me 15% off if he could put the debris on the street for the city pick up. He told me the stump grinding company charges $3 per inch in diameter on the tree to go down about 8 inches. However he wasn't sure weather or not the stump grinding company would be able to get their machine through my back gate. I felt that his estimate was on the high side. Half of the tree had already been removed by the utility company's tree service. I ended up going with another company with a lower estimate.($1,100)
Description of Work: In Jan. 2008 I called and received and estimate for the removal of a Live Oak Tree. This tree was quite large and was 34 inches in diameter. This tree was in proximity to power lines at the back of my property. The utility company came by and literally removed half the tree. All branches on the back side of the tree were removed leaving a very large lopsided tree. After the utility company's tree service had finished cutting our tree we were advised by several professionals that the tree should be removed for safety reasons. I acquired six estimates altogether. They ranged from $880 to $2875. Most included the hauling away of the debris and Stump grinding. Next time I will be sure to get separate estimates for tree removal and stump grinding. Everyone of the tree companies that subbed out the stump grinding marked up the price.

We called Perfect Trees Tree Service for an estimate to cut down two fruitless mulberry trees from the parkway in front of our home. Within a couple of hours of our call, Paul arrived to give us an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable, and since he had his crew with him at the time, they were able to do the job right then. My husband pointed out to them the areas where our sprinkler system was located and they were careful to avoid those areas. They cut down the trees, ground the tree stumps, and hauled off the lumber. Paul and his crew did a fine job and we were very pleased with them. We would definitely use them again.

I gave up on the tree service our son recommended after 3 appointments they never showed up for. I found Perfect Trees Tree Service on Angie's List, called and left my number. Mr. Hanson called back within 10 minutes. Said he would do his best to be by that day. He made it by a little after 6:00 p.m. Looked at our trees, make a very reasonable bid and said he would have his crew out within a couple days. True to his word, two days later, he called in the morning and said his crew would be out that afternoon. They were out around 2:20 p.m. and finished around 2 hours later. They did a great job and we were well pleased.
Description of Work: Trimmed and thinned three very large Oak trees in our back yard and hauled away the debris. They use ladders, rope and small power saws. Some of the crew work in the trees, while others work on the ground cleaning up and removing limbs and debris.

The whole process was very satisfactory. After getting their name from Angie's List, I called the tree service on a Tuesday afternoon and was given an appointment for an estimate the next afternoon at 1 p.m. They were about 45 minutes late for the appointment, but called me about 1 p.m to let me know they were running a little late. I was told they could do the work that same week and to my surprise they called about 9 a.m the next day (Thursday) and said they would be doing the work that day. Within 30 minutes, a crew of 4 men were there and started working. The work, including cleanup, was finished in a little over 2 hours. I was very pleased with the whole operation including the cleanup and removal of all the mess.
Description of Work: Five trees were pruned. One tree was very overgrown (about 10 years old and had never been shaped), but now it looks very good. Another tree had been topped out a couple of years ago and had a lot of sucker growth. It also now looks much better. Two trees near my house had limbs hanging very close to the roof. These limbs were trimmed and the canopy of the trees was raised. The fifth tree belonged to my neighbor and also had limbs that were hanging very close to my garage roof. With the neighbor's permission, the tree was trimmed and the mess that went into their yard was cleaned up by the tree service crew.

Did a wonderful job. He call me back almost immediately, visited my home and provided an estimate within 24 hours and did the job within 3 days. I have needed to have this done for oh so long and I kept putting it off because of the effort to find someone. I enjoyed talking with Paul over the phone, and my husband was just as pleased with him in person.
Description of Work: He trimmed 3 trees: 2 pecans and a red oak. Both pecans were drooping to the ground, many limbs waiting for that strong wind to snap. Also had a dead broken limb in one pecan tree waiting to come crashing down.
