Ouch!! Clearly, we didn't deliver on our comfort promise in this case. I just spoke with this homeowner to see where we went wrong. Unfortunately, during our initial visit for the prospective client, the only thing we did was provide a rough budgetary estimate for a ductless mini-split system addition to a garage conversion. As a rule, we do typically quote on the high side when it comes to budgetary figures. We also made some assumptions in regards to efficiency that added to the estimate. It was more or less a “not to exceed” kind of estimate. I am currently working with this homeowner to get her some hard numbers on a new ductless mini-split system. As with conventional A/C systems, ductless mini-split systems come with a wide range of options and efficiencies. With hindsight being 20/20, we should have never left her home without providing a firm good, better, best scenario with concrete numbers so that all of the options could be considered. With some additional training and preparation, we will be poised to handle ductless mini-split proposals much better from here on out. Rest assured that our pricing is and has always been very competitive for over 56 years and we always deliver exceptional value for your investment. In this particular case, it was part misunderstanding and part lack of due diligence on our part.
