Ameritex Roofing

After seeing a number of 'roofing' signs in the neighborhood, I unearthed my 19 yr old folder from Ameritex (they did a 30yr roof in Aug 1995) and seeing their rating on this site, I elected to give them first look at my roof. I emailed them today and Robert M. came out to do an inspection. To my surprise, he informed me that I was on the border of needing one...but if I elected to wait, that would be fine too. I told Robert..."you did too good of a job in '95"! I couldn't be happier with his professionalism. (Earlier this week, i've had a number of contractors try to sell me a roof, because they could give me a good price since they're already in the area. I don't think they could have beaten 'FREE', as I don't need a roof replacement at this time!) Thanks again Robert (and Ameritex)....you will continue to be my first 'goto' when it comes to roofing!

Contacted them on a Wednesday morning and they were out in a couple of hours for an estimate and had a person onsite the following day to perform the work. Very professional, very punctual. Great Job overall

Several people in our neighborhood needed lots of roof repairs, and I was unsure how bad ours was. When he came to inspect our roof, he informed us we did not a new roof or repairs. I so appreacited his honesty!

I called Ameritex this morning and my call was immediately answered. Within 10 minutes Robert Mercer called me back and arrived within 2 hours to inspect my home for hail damage. He said I had no significant problems, probably because my roof was only 1.5 years old. Robert was very friendly and I certainly will use them in the future. I recommend Ameritex to anyone needing roof repairs, because they are honest, timely, and professional.

Ameritex was quick to respond to my request. Bryan came out within 24 hrs, measured and estimate was received n the same day. After we scheduled, I purchased a sun tube skylight that I was going to install myself but Bryan said they would do the roof hole and mounting of it for me. Was only a very nominal upcharge. (I had expected more). Just before the crew was to show up, we had a family medical crisis that had to be attended to. Ameritex understood, got the job done in one day and made a special trip to pick up their final payment two days after completion. Their crew was clean, courteous and professional. Great job.

We got bids from 3 different roofing companies. Ameritex had the best price and provided all the services offered by the other 2. The crew arrived on time. In 8 hrs they had completely torn off our old roof down to the rafters. Replaced the decking,shingles and installed ridge vents. The quickness and quality of their work was impressive! Everything was cleaned up before they left. In fact, the area around the house looked better than before they started. A few days later, another crew came to install the gutters. That was completed in just a couple hrs time. The gutters are exactly what we wanted and look great. After the recent rains we've had here, I can say the job was well done. No leaks and the gutter system works perfectly. We highly recommend this company.

I am VERY HAPPY with the finished job by Ameritex Roofing of McKinney, estimator/overseer Robert McAllister, the crew chief and his whole crew! PROLOGUE: I had heard lots of hail multiple times over several months, but the only damage I had looked for was missing shingles. (My home was not missing any shingles, although four of my close neighbors had lost some, and a few had landed in my yard.) The unnamed company that repaired one roof rang my doorbell and asked if I wanted a "Free Roof Inspection". Normally I say "No, thanks", but this time I said OK. 2 guys went up a ladder and tromped around on my roof. They took pictures with an iPhone of hail damage highlighted in chalk, gave me some ominus advice that I needed it repaired quickly, and said they would wait five minutes for me to call my Insurance company and give them the claim number. They wanted me to sign a contract/estimate right away, and insisted that they would meet the ins co inspector/adjuster and point out items to "make sure you get the most from your insurance" and "reduce or eliminate your out-of-pocket". I did NOT sign anything since I was very uncomfortable with high-pressure sales tactics of that other company. I allowed them to be present for the ins inspection, but I told them I would be getting multiple bids. ANGIE's List: That other roofing company had no BBB complaints, but I found Ameritex Roofing of McKinney on Angie's List, and I was pleased with their "A" ratings, so I called them to get another estimate/proposal. ROBERT McALLISTER called back promptly and then came by the same day. I really appreciated his knowlege, professionalism, good attitude, and his encouragement to obtain multiple bids in this highly competitive business. The Ameritex website has some excellent tips on selecting a contractor. Robert won the bid for my business, and I would probably have chosen him (Ameritex) even if his bid had not been the lowest. The materials were delivered yesterday, and the crew (at least six) arrived slightly ahead of schedule. It is AMAZING to see them all work together (as many have for 15 years) on the tear-off, re-roof, clean up, and haul off. The weather was a bit chilly and gusty in the morning, but was sunny and beautiful later. It was noisy, as expected, but I LOVE the job they did on my 1-day re-roof. Thanks, Ameritex and Robert!

Robert from Ameritex responded within two hours of my call. He provided me an estimate and was able to send a crew out the same day to complete the repair. The next two days of hard rain provided a good test of the repair work with no leaks detected. The repair blends in very well with a great color match to the existing roofing material. I would definitely use Ameritex again.

It seemed fair. I got what I paid for. They did a good goob. They came out and fixed it the same day. They were prompt, fair , and did a good job.

Due to hail damage, our roof needed to be replaced. Robert McAllister from Ameritex was prompt in answering all our phone calls. Out of the 5 bids we received, Ameritex wasn't the highest nor the lowest. Robert answered all of our questions well & had a practical approach to replacing our roof. He suggested the Max Def Weathered wood color for our shingles, which looks good. It gives an overall gray appearance to the roof with subtle colors within it.The crew was hard working and competed the roof in one day. The crew cleaned up well when the job was complete.In the end Robert was prompt in giving us the Texas Certificate for class 4 Impact Resistant shingles to fax to our insurance company for the homeowners premium discount. It was nice to work with a local company.

I called them because I had shingles blowing off my roof during a strong wind. Robert McAllister showed up at my home within an hour, looked at my roof and told me I had another layer of roofing under the part that blew off and he thought I would be okay during the rain that was coming in. He told me if it leaked, to call and they would come back and tarp the roof. We scheduled the date for stripping my roof, replacing any decking that needed to be replaced and placing new shingles. They also replaced wind turbines and vent pipe covers. On that day they arrived at 7:30 AM and started stripping. By 7:00 PM the entire roof was replaced, the yard was cleaned of all debris as well as scanning the yard with a magnet to pick up all nails. If ever needed again, I would call Ameritex Roofing the first thing.

Jess Marshal is who I dealt with. He was very thorough and responsive. They did an excellent job. I was really impressed with the roofing job as well as the gutters. They did a phenomenal job.

Ameritex (aka Robert McAlister) was able to come pretty quickly to take a look at our roof. Robert and a helper came. They got up on the roof and thoroughly examined it, and initially offered to do a repair for under a thousand dollars. (I consider that to have been extremely reasonable.) He provided specifics about exactly what that would cover. We asked about replacing the roof, so he calculated again. The bid was very reasonable, and we elected to replace rather than repair. Our work was scheduled very quickly, the following Monday. The crew arrived around 7 a.m. and I am not sure how many of them there were, but my best guess would be about ten. They were up on the roof and working hard all day, essentially until dusk. I did notice anyone taking a break (which I think is better to take one but that is the nurse in me), and they all appeared very pleasant and happy. It was clear that they enjoyed their jobs--that's a good sign for good quality work, IMHO. They came the next morning to finish off the last of our roof, and by then my husband had added the shop and the barn to the list of things to do. Our roof actually came in slightly under the bid--initially we expected to pay $18,000--it was $17,900 for our roof. Robert also advised us to change the manner in which our aerial was attached to the roof (guide wires until then), and we made that change. From the beginning, Robert was reachable by phone, text and email. He was always pleasant and very professional. We could not ask for more or better. I recommend Robert McAllister and Ameritex for roofing without condition. They were great.

We had a small leak in our roof, coming into our garage. Ameritex was very prompt and came out while it was still raining to assess where the water was coming from. They gave us a very reasonable quote and time to repair. The roofer was in constent contact and even though he had an uncontrollable health problem and had to reschedule our project, it was done quickly and efficiently. They were right on their quote and they will be the first roofers I call to do any future repairs.

Robert McAllister of AmeriTex Roofing called me back the same afternoon I called AmeriTex Roofing. He came out the following day after the rainstorm had stopped. He was very professional and took a look at the area where it was leaking through the ceiling and then looked in the attic crawlspace were he suggested where the possible leak was coming from. He and a technical service person came back two days later and Identified some nail holes in the underside of the roofing that were likely causing the leaks. They fixed the holes in the roof by sealing and covering the holes and then replacing the shingles with identical shingles. We understand that we will not know if the leak was fixed until we have a hard rain again and then leak possibly begins again.. However I am confident that based in the professionalism of McAllister and the technician, it was fixed.

Ameritex was good and they kept in contact with us. There were some issues but none were too major. We had some problems with our chimney but they followed up and they fixed it.

Project went off without a hitch from quote to completion.
