Description of Work: I had a leak on the roof and requested an estimate. I left a message because they are closed on weekends. I had to call them back the next week, no one returned my call. I spoke to the office receptionist and she said that she would relate the message and someone would contact me to come out and give me an estimate. I did get a call back about two weeks later but by that time I had already gotten someone else to come out.

Fortunately the problem turned out to be something else, but when they went up to inspect, found several other issues. Sam inspected the entire roof, took pictures of the damaged areas and recommended a course of action. We schedule work for a couple of weeks later. The crew arrived promptly and work was completed in a timely manner.

 + -1 moreThe crew came around about 1:00 PM to start doing the work. I had offered them cokes, tea, water if they wanted it. Also, I told them if they needed to go to the rest room, they could use the bathroom in the house. I know they were taken back by my hospitality. They accepted the cokes and water. I cannot see in being mean and disrespectful to others that are doing a job for you. I am a born-again Christian and we should reflect the Love of Jesus to others. Sam, Dave, Felix, Jaime and John did a splendid job! Also, Terry, the Mother of seven sons! I highly recommend Ernie Smith and Sons Roofing Company! Their number "1" in my book. Keep up the good work! I bless your Company in the Name of Jesus!
Description of Work: The provider sent Sam Smith to inspect the roof of the house. I had some minor repairs done on the roof by a local carpenter which I found out from Sam that the carpenter did them incorrectly. Sam had taken pictures of those repairs and showed me how they should have been done correctly. I was told by the local carpenter that I had gaps in my roof and he could repair them if he had the help to do the work. Since the local carpenter was not bonded, I could not have him do the repairs that is why I chose to go to Angies list to find an experienced roofing company that was bonded. Sam went into the attic and he said the roof was alright and it didn't need any repairs. Sam said the attic needed insulation and asked when was the last time it was done. I told him about 30 years ago. I asked him to give me a price on installing the insulation and repairing the roof repairs done by the local carpenter. Sam Smith was very courteous, friendly, honest, professional, kind and nice. Sam got back with me with the price of $3,200 which was very reasonable. It is refreshing nowadays, to see a young man, like Sam Smith, who has manners and respects senior citizens and is interested and works in the family business. Amazing! He was raised right by his Mom and Dad.

 + -1 moreHe even called several plumbing companies to get someone to help me asap. He even fixed my front door handle so I could close and open my front door which came apart due to the water leak. Sam was very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and didn't charge me even for the house call. He and his parents should be very proud of his honesty and work ethic. I would more than recommend this company to anyone in the Houston, Galveston, The woodlands, (the entire southeast area). I can't say enough about this company.
Description of Work: Assuming a roof leak, I called Ernie Smith and Sons Roofing Co. When Sam Smith, one of seven brothers working for their father arrived and determined it was a water pipe leak.

After seeing the estimate, I inquired about adding additional services, replacement of gutter nails with screws and exterior painting after the roof was completed. The crew completed the job, (3500 sq ft) in 1 day rather than 2. Unfortunately, there were some gutter nails that were not replaced. However, I called and supervisor was out with in 2 days to replace the nails. The painters completed the painting in one day. Every time work was completed the clean-up was perfect. I didn't find any roofing nails in the drive or back yard, neither did my dog! I have recommended them to my neighbor that wanted to have a new roof. I would have them back if I needed additional services.

Roofer completed the repair in a matter of days from the original estimate and the repairs that were completed were as described and expected and the vent did not leak when it rained the following day. Though I have not chosen Mr. Smith to replace our roof, I would have every confidence in his work and would not hesitate to hire him for any roofing job. Mr. Smith's work meets all of the Texas Department of Insurance Windstorm requirements, which is very important. My contacts with Mr. Smith and his office staff were thoroughly professional and cordial. The written estimate provided was detailed and complete. I recommend!
Description of Work: Mr. Smith provided an estimate to replace the roof on our home. The current roof is over 25 years old. The estimate included complete removal of the existing roof, removing the turbine vent and replacing the decking beneath it, adding ridge vents in 3 runs, using Timberline shingles, replacing lead vent pipes, sealing the area where our metal patio cover adjoins the roof, etc.Mr Smith hand nails roofs, which I consider to be very important. You cannot beat a hand nailed roof installed by a roofer who knows what he's doing!

She was so right. They are the nicest people you could ever do business with. The roof is totally fixed. I have no leaks or anything. If by chance something would ever happen again, I would definitely call Ernie Smith and Sons to come and fix it.
