Houston Inspections

From the first phone call to receiving the inspection report, everything couldn't go any smoother. My inspector, Nick, was fantastic. He arrived a little early and immediately went to work. Nick was extremely thorough and explained to me all the potential issues and observations he noted. Despite my daily visits and inspections since the first day of construction, Nick was still able to find some issues that I wouldn't have ever known. I also received the inspection report very quickly. I would recommend anyone shopping for an inspection to go with Houston Inspections and ask for Nick!

It was very easy to schedule the appointment. They arrived on time and did a thorough inspection both inside and out. They discovered termites on the outside that needed to be treated. I was very impressed with the speed in which we received our report and how detailed it was. I've used it on a couple occasions since, when I needed roof work done and work done to our air conditioning unit. Combining their expertise with our Realtor's, Rianne Sanchez, was one of our best moves. We were able to negotiating getting several things fixed.

The staff was very professional. Setting up an appointment was easy, and they sent reminders via email. The inspector (Denis) was outstanding. He took his time doing the inspection, and you never got a sense that he was in a hurry or careless. In fact, he stopped periodically to point out how things worked. At the end of the inspection, he went over some of his findings and very patiently answered all my questions. I strongly recommend them!!

The home inspector was profressional, very punctual and knowledgeable about the obvious items to look at when a home inspection is performed. His report was very detailed and contanined color photos which was a great help to explain items that needed to be repaired prior to my movein.

We contacted Houston Inspections to complete a home inspection for us as we were purchasing a "New to Us" home - although the home was built in the 1970's. While on teh exterior things looked fine enough, Shawn and his team were able to detect active water leaks, electrical issues and idenitfy structural issues which - at the time were stable - but had a strong risk for immediate future need to address which would have cost tens of thousands to repair. Their thorough assessment from the pool to the HVAC, roof (with the drone) and all the other areas led us to walk away from teh transaction as informed clients. When we found another home, we again contacted Shawn and Houston Inpsections. This house was in far better shape. after their inspection, they encouraged us to follow up with a separate and more thorough HVAC inspection as something wasn't "right". This led to the discovery of two heaters with rusted out heating elements that were not only releasing carbon monoxide into the attic, but also burning the outside of the units. All unaware to the homeowner. The homeowner contacted the home warranty company who indicated nothing was wrong. We contacted then a thrid party which took pictures and agreed with Houston Inpsections initial findings as well as the original HVAC inspector and the units were taken out of service and replaced the first day we moved in. When the old units were removed we could see the holes! ALL thanks to the watchful eye and well trained staff at Houston Insepctions.

Shawn and his team were excellent! They did a thorough job and gave us a full report of all their investigations. They even told us which fixes they would prioritize over others and estimated costs for some of the repairs. They made us feel comfortable with the process and were honest in their assessment. That is, if a brick was loose, it wasn't the end of the world but something to fix down the road. The report includes what things are out of code and pictures of all of their findings. They were great and we will definitely use them for our next inspection!

I picked Houston Inspections after a referral from a friend and reviewing the excellent AL reviews. Shawn (owner) and Lee met me at our new home-in-progress for a pre-drywall inspection. The appointment was on very short notice due to the builder's schedule. They beat me to the property, and had already inspected the exterior and the roof before I got there. They proceeded to conduct a very, very thorough inspection of all aspects of the home. They found several significant issues that had to be addressed, as well as a large number of "punchlist" type items. The inspection more than paid for itself many times over in making sure these issues were addressed before the drywall was installed. What's more, Shawn and Lee were extremely personable and professional. The very, very detailed inspection report was emailed to me in under 18 hours from the actual inspection. I will be using them again for the final inspection, and for any similar work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Note--the address I'm supplying for the work provided is the address for the sales office for the development. The actual home is on a new street one block away which is not yet in AL's system.

The service provider was on time and had all he equipment necessary to do his job. He shared some of this findings prior to sending the final report. I understood what needed to be done in order of most important. I was very pleased with the professional level and will definitely use this provider again.

Dennis was professional kind and polite. He actually came to the home at a previous date only to find out it had no water service. He promptly called me, and rescheduled at my connivence. Im sure that was a very annoying position to be in but he did not charge anymore and had no problem coming back at a later date. He provided pictures of the problem areas and took plenty of time to go through these areas with us and explain exactly where there was a problem and what needed to be done to fix it. He was extremely thorough.

Outstanding. Highest possible recommendation. I accompanied Shawn on the inspection. He was extremely thorough and professional. He found several significant defects that would have been very expensive to remediate post-drywall, as well as a large number of "punchlist" type items, a number of which could have been significant if they had not been fixed at this stage of construction. The fee was reasonable, and paid for itself several times over with the repairs that were made.

Email and call only because of the ?Anglie?s List? reviews to inquire about getting home inspection service, got a message that they would call me the following Monday, after I did not here from anyone call back 2 times over a few day did not hear back. I finally did get a call back about a week later voicemail saying they were real busy, I had lost confident by that time, so I move on.

This inspection company is by far the most professional and dependable company that I have ever worked with. Their attention to detail is excellent as well as their customer service. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.
