I heard (and felt) my A/C stop running late in the evening late in the evening of July 31, 2011 . Checked Angie's List for an Air conditioner repair service in the area. I found that Ferrugia Mechanical had really good reviews so I called them. I was told they could come out in the morning (next day) on Monday August 1 around 9am. At 7:45am the service rep from Ferrugia called to say he was on the way. He arrived and within 25 minutes after he arrived, I had cold air again. The rep then checked all the air vents in the house and even changed the direction on one that was aimed in the wrong direction. The complete visit took less than one hour! The cost was reasonable, the repair was fast and the service representative was professional and very pleasant. I am impressed with this company and will definitely recommend them to others.

I love these guys! They worked with me to find a time for them to look at my air conditioner. They arrived when they said they would (actually they were a little early!) and were very polite and professional. After looking at my outside unit they then went in the attic to look at the system up there. I needed more freon and ended up getting more than they would normally provide for free, however, they didn't charge me for it.

I called Ferrugia last night and actually spoke to a real person. My husband communicated what he knew had happened; he also asked because I work could someone one come by 8:00 or earlier. At 7:35 this morning there was a knock at the door. James asked where everything was thermostats, air conditioner and attic. He was able to diagnose the problem of the connector switch not working in less than 15 minutes. He had the connector on his truck and replace it within 15 minutes. He also checked the other unit for any problems and communicated his findings. I was able to get to work on time. James met this challenge with integrity, professionalism and minimal pain in the pocketbook. I will be contacting Ferrugia in the Springs to come for a tuneup.

Overall it went very well. The technician knew what he was doing, did his job, and at his suggestion, we keep the termostat at 75 and the house is very comfortable. I don't like the heat - and last year we kept the termostat at 74 and the unit seemed to run constantly. Now w/the termostat set at 75, there are breaks during the day and night when the unit is not running. So for all practical purposes, he was right. We have had high heat lately, the house has remained cool and I see no reason to lower the temperature below 75. The technician arrived on time, did his job, answered our questions and left. This company name will be kept on file for future reference as we would definitely use them again. Using companies from Angie's list is absolutely fabulous. Have no concerns about qualifications as Angie has thoroughly checked them out. We definitely would recommend this company to anyone asking for a reference.

It was one of the big deals and he was really good at what he did. The price was very good. We will continue to use him. We were very pleased with his work and him. We paid him $110 and we paid $75 for the deal. He did a very good job and gave us an accurate report based on our prior knowledge of our a/c. We are going to have him replace both of our air conditioners and furnaces.

Mr. Ferrugia arrived on time and did a complete inspection and cleaning of our two-zone air conditioning system. He was thorough and explained what the had found and the price he charged was the one he quoted. $80 for the first unit and $40 for the second is more than the $25 specials that some companies advertise, but $25 bucks won't pay their truck gas bill, so you know they are going to fix something whether it's broke or not. I'd rather pay a fair price up front and have confidence that I'm dealing with an honest workman. Highly recommended.

The tech arrived on time (~9 AM). He opened the coil panel on one unit and cleaned the coil even though it desperately needs to be replaced. (He got a VERY good quote to replace it.) He cleaned the condensors outside (maybe a little less thoroughly than I have cleaned them in the past) and checked the points. He said they were worn but did not suggest failure was imminent, but simply it would be a good preventive measure. (vs another company tech that looked at them 2 yrs ago and suggested they could fail any time in the near future.) Thru all of it, he patiently explained the status/issue and answered all my questions. He completed his work as expected within the 2 hours (in spite of ALL my questions) and was very careful not to make a mess any where. He honored the coupon from Angie's List, without question (Cleaned the drain lines, added freon, etc) at the price stated. Yes, I would use Ferrugia Mechanical again. They were everything I expected them to be. In fact they maybe installing the new coil -- depending on where they come in the bidding process.

Our downstairs unit was not cooling at all so I called 2 companies from Angie's List and the company a friend owns not on Angie's yet. I wanted three bids before I made an expensive decision. Ferrugia was prompt in setting up the appointment, he actually called and came out a little earlier than the appointment time, which was fine with me. He looked things over, answered my questions and gave me a bid for the price of replacing the condenser and the coil, which he said needed to be replaced. He also told me about something that should have been done by the company that replaced my upstairs unit in May, they did not replace the drip pan under the unit in the attic. His bid was right in the middle of the three bids for replacement I got, fair price. I ended up going with my friends company because they were the only one of out the three that told me I had a freon leak and that they could fix the leak, but could not guarantee how long that fix would hold. They also gave me a replacement bid. So far the unit has worked fine, which makes us happy since we replaced one unit already this summer.

After discussing options with the owner of the company, we decided to have a complete new energy efficient air conditioning system installed. The installation crew, which included the owner himself, was prompt, courteous and efficient. We found out later that night that water was leaking and we called--a technician came out right away to work on the problem (he said the drain lines may not have been cleared out during the installation). 2 days later, (a Sunday) warm air was coming out of the vents--we called again. Again, a technician came out immediately and re-souldered a freon line that had been done improperly. He told us that one of his crew had been responsible for these 2 mistakes and would be fired from the crew! Our last service call was for the water leak again. The entire crew came back out, including the owner. The system was completely checked, gaps fixed, the unit leveled, and the freon unit re-adjusted (it had been overcharged before and was not cooling properly). The problems we had with the way the unit was installed was frustrating but the company has stood by their work and have worked very hard to fix any problems. To be fair, the leak could be a factory defect--time will tell. Installation of our unit, B-. Quality of the unit, A+. Punctuality and responsiveness of the company, A+.

We have been reluctant to hire anyone to repair the AC at the house, due to bad experiences and almost yearly calls for repair. Not only did Mike get our units going, but he explained why we were having problems so frequently, which is something no other AC repair service did for us. He made recommendations for preventive maintenance, so that we wouldn't have to call him out more often...who does that anymore? I recommend this company highly!
