Distinguished designs did the majority of a $150k remodel for our home (custom closets, bathrooms, office, kitchen, built-ins, room addition, painting, cabinetry, plumbing/electrical/hvac) . Appreciate the craftsmanship, workmanship, flexibility and execution. Areas of potential improvement in communication, documented change process, and design assistance. Overall good experience and would hire again, particularly if already a clear goal to be executed against.

Eric and his crew were professional, punctual and communicated very clearly every day they were onsite. Eric is an uber-detail oriented owner and who only wants a top notch product turned out by his guys. Their work and our overall experience exceeded our expectations and we recommend Eric’s company often.

It was fixed as expected. I was wondering if he was going to lift up the roof before replacing the post. He said he was going to do it without me asking so I knew he knew what he was doing. No issues with the repair.

Mr. Fowler is a Meticulous, skilled craftsman and I'm looking forward to working with him on another project soon.

We wanted to build a custom prayer cabinet in our living room. Not many contractors were ready to take up this project since we have to build it in a specific location and dimentions. And most of them quoted outrageous price. Eric's quote was not the cheapest but he is very good in giving us ideas and ready to work with us in improvising. He even have to come few times even before I committed to the project which actually made me to use his services. He is definitely a perfectionist and was ready to go any level to satisfy the customer. They took measurements, built the cabinets in his shop and installed it in one day. And the end product was well built and just so beautiful. He is very knowledgeable and skilled with equally skilled team. He also made some adjustments after installation for me to be able to install the lighting by myself, which I really appreciate. Overall we are really happy with what we got. He is a genuine and honest person to deal with. So is his team. I will definitely call him for my next project.

I spent a lot of time talking to a number of different vendors for this. Each found my project intimidating and many either outright said they couldn't do it, or just faded away chickening out of submitting a bid. It wasn't that it was too large, it's that it was too complex for it's small size. I still had a couple of companies engaged in the bidding process when on a whim (based on reviews here) I decided to give Eric a shot. From the word go he was professional, polite, fully engaged, and enthusiastic about the job. I threw him every curve ball I had and he didn't even blink. He agreed that it was an unusual situation (major understatement), but knew how to handle it. I was a bit surprised that he was willing to work on something so small compared to his normal large scale jobs, but it never appeared to cross his mind. All he knew is that I was in need of help and he knew he was someone could help. He was confidant, yet showed no arrogance. He took detailed notes, discussed numerous aspects of the job I never considered, and really worked with me on all of the (knowable) details up front. Before I even got the quote (which was speedy quick in 48hrs), I knew he was going to be the best choice. I was right. As I met each member of his crew, watched how they worked, how Eric interacted with them, etc. I knew this was going to go well. Everyone showed enormous skill in their area of expertise. They were clean, organized, polite, and detail oriented. I think it's important to know as well that Eric personally did a lot of work. He wasn't just a project manager, or hands off owner taking the checks... he was a crucial part of the workforce. Throughout the entire process Eric made sure to keep me up to speed on everything going on and never showed any sort of annoyance at my constant barrage of questions. When issues came up he discussed them with me on my level. No question was too stupid. (I challenged him there, I assure you.) In the end, the result is so much better than we ever imagined it could be. He had vision of the whole project from day one and it's turned out great. Eric is one of "those guys". A man with an amazing skill set without a stench of arrogance about him. A rare combination of honesty, humility, good humor, and a genuine desire (and ability) to put a smile on everyone's face. I can't imagine ever hiring anyone else for a remodeling job.

They did a fantastic job. My bathroom was out-dated, grungy, and in desperate need of being completely overhauled. Within a week they turned my ugly bathroom into something so nice I almost don’t recognize it. Thank you!

Living room, dining room, powder room were all renovated. He built a custom media center. The work was excellent. This was our second project with him, the first time he did our kitchen.

Trust is what Eric earned from me at the end of the restoration/renovation project. I was devastated as a flood victim of Hurricane Harvey and by a horrible experience with a contractor who had taken me for a ride for more than 9 months. I found Eric and two other contractors from Angie’s List when this contractor continued to miss his project deadlines and delivered the service with poor workmanship. Eric was the first to respond to my request for a quote and gave me a fair price with an estimate to complete the project within two or three months. Being hurt financially and emotionally by my last contractor, I was very careful with my budget and in dealing with contractors. I reviewed every detail of Eric’s estimate and questioned some of his work /recommendations. Eric had a good attitude and told me that he understood where I came from as he had other customers with the same situation. He tried to explain things in ways that I could understand and assured me that he had my back to put me at ease. I was skeptical at first about his assurance. As the project progressed, Eric convinced me bit by bit that he is an experienced, trust-worthy person with compassion and integrity. A lot of work performed by my last contractor had to be redone, including the kitchen cabinets, fireplace, and all the work in the master bathroom (shower, tub, cabinets, tiles, etc.). Eric gave me advice on what should or should not be reworked to maintain my budget. He showed me why demolishing the master shower built by my last contractor was a wise decision – not only because of the poor workmanship that I could see but also because of the structural issues that I couldn’t see. If I had kept the shower, I would have encountered mold and drainage issues very soon. When Eric saw other issues along the way, he always brought them to my attention, provided his recommendations, and let me decide whether or not to proceed. Having seen all the quality issues identified by Eric, I made a decision to expand the project scope to redo all the work completed by my last contractor in the upstairs bathroom and vanity rooms. Eric prides himself on providing quality services and exceeding customers’ expectations. I told him that he just needed to meet mine because I am a person with high expectations and a keen eye for detail. He, however, wanted to exceed my expectations. When his subcontractors caused some issues during the project, Eric took the responsibility wholeheartedly, even though he had to give up some of his family time on Christmas Eve or pay another subcontractor at his own expense to address the issues. When I pointed out some cosmetic issues with the paint job, he did not hesitate to address my concern, no matter how minor the issues were. Eric completed the job (with the expanded scope) in 3 months with great workmanship. I am very pleased with the outcome. Eric is the person who will do what he promises. He has not only exceeded my expectation but also earned my respect and trust.

Eric and his team were very professional and courteous throughout the whole process. The quote provided was quite detailed and was revised timely as we added to the scope of work. Response time was much quicker than anyone who gave us a quote. The entire team were professional throughout the whole process and work was finished within the time frame that it was quoted. He took an extra step to help us organize all our modems and cables which made the whole set up look even better. We will certainly like to work with Eric and the team on future work!! Eric and his team were wonderful. They understood our goals and our budget. They were always on time and worked hard to make our vision a reality. Eric often had recommendations we hadn't considered to achieve the look we wanted. Our building is now inspiring and beautiful.

They did a great job. Even when the little things came up during the job, they took it in stride and were quick to let me know and explain. Eric and his crew are incredibly professional. These are the people you want in your house.

Small job but Eric responded very quickly with a quote and fit the job in to his schedule as soon as he could. Sub-contractor Elias was outstanding. Fireplace looks awsesome. Texturing and painting of Sheetrock repairs were flawless. They went above and beyond.

Eric was very professional and personable. He hires licensed qualified sub contractors. Very clean work area throughout the whole remodel. His over all knowledge of taking our wishes and turning it into a perfected design is spot on. I recommend this company for anyone who wants to do any kind of remodel.

We've lived in our house for over 12 years and wanted to remove the jet tub and shower and replace it with one large shower and linen cabinet. Eric and his team helped with design and listened to what we needed. We are so happy with how the design turned out!

They were great to work with from the estimate all the way to the final Product. The room looks amazing. All the workers were nice and just really did a great job. We have received tons of compliments. Eric was on top of everything and kept everything moving. We would use them again for sure.

Eric was great to work with and he explained everything done well. He and his crew did a great job at installing everything. After the french drain was put in, we had a pretty good storm come through and I don't have standing water in that area anymore. I would definitely hire again for other work.

Mr. Fowler was very responsive and communicated very well on the project and his guys did absolutely beautiful work. There was an initial glitch regarding scheduling which delayed the completion of the job for us. Also, even though he accepts credit cards there was a bit of a push back on taking them due to service charges and asked that I pay part of the service charge. I feel like this is the cost of doing business and should not have been transferred to me, however, I did pay it as I was so pleased with the work. I think Mr. Fowler and his team do incredible work, are very professional while in the home, and communicate very well and approach the project in a very organized manner. If I were to use them again I would just stick to the originally proposed schedule and either pay cash or have noted in the contract that credit card processing fees will not be transferred to customer costs.

Went great. I told Eric i was extremely busy and wouldn't be able to spend much if any time at the property and he handled everything, yet was very good about getting my input and making sure they were meeting my standards. Also im color blind and left many of those decisions up to Eric and he did a great job. The house sold in a little over 4 weeks.

We met and discussed our needs after a major flood to our home. We also discussed options for what type of improvements were possible and how much it would cost. Eric’s team started within in just a few days of our acceptance of his initial proposal. We knew we would be adding items but wanted get begun as soon as possible! Eric was onsite supervising each activity by his team. He was always available by text or phone if something came up. Plus he was on the job site almost every day for months. Eric also did construction work himself as needed, and took the time to explain options when they found issues in our walls, floors, plumbing, etc. We collaborated on several design options to improve our kitchen, stairway, laundry, cabinetry and trim/molding. I really enjoyed our collaboration to make the outcome as best as possible while still being cognizant if prices. His cabinet guy was amazing. He knew his sizing and proportions. He was able to adapt to my requests, answer my questions and worked hard and skillfully each day. His painters and tile folks are so nice and easy to work with. The work they do is beautiful. Very good people. Our project was very large and stressful for us — since we had flooded about five feet of water. Yet, we also had the opportunity to improve areas of our home. Eric helped me through many of the enormous amount of decisions. I would recommend Distinguished Designs for a home remodel or construction project of any size. I have already recommended his company to several neighbors and friends. One special note: When we were interviewing builder’s/construction companies, Distinguished Designs was the only one of several that had a good solution for overhauling the look of our 80’s style open staircase into a beautiful new wood design that we had always wanted without breaking our budget. Thank you for this! We also purchased many of the materials ourselves (like the wood flooring) yet his team handled all the installs. They adapted to our needs yet kept the project safe and with permits.

Superb!!! Eric Fowler and his various teams were quick to respond to this emergency. He rapidly assessed the situation, provided detailed but easy to understand explanations of the many steps of the project, and started the work before mold became an issue. He accommodated several modification requests and kept the property clear of ugly debris piles throughout the project. He even beat several competitors to earn my business. The townhouse looks better than new! I couldn’t be happier!!!

Excellent work, professional (English speaking) crew, very detail oriented, clean, done very thorough. Please allowed more time than you think it would take, quality work is not fast! Schedule way in advance. If your job is quick and dirty, this is not your crew. We are extremely pleased and would (and will) hire them again.

Eric and his team did a beautiful job with my new master bathroom as well as tying in and extending my hardwood floors into my family room. Having one’s home under construction for any period can be stressful but it was much less so for us as all were professional and polite. I never worried leaving my house while they were working and enjoyed their company when I was home. I will be using Eric and his team for any future projects at my home.

Very nice outcome. Very professional company. Eric and his team take allot of pride in their work and produced a high quality product (very good design, quality custom cabinets and paint job plus new granite countertops and a new sink). The project took a bit longer than initially planned but we did have some scope additions and the company was also very conscientious to make sure that all details were fully taken care of. Nice outcome!
