Texas Best Fence & Patio

Contacted them this spring about staining our fence. Salesman was out within a few days to provide a quote on the spot. About 30 days later I sent a signed quote back to them to give the OK to perform the work. I followed up with an email and voice mail to the salesman. Received no response. Tried contacting the salesman directly and their office several times by email and voice mail with no response. Giving up at this point and selecting a new vendor.

There are so many choices in fencing and it's not a task that has to be done on a regular basis so i used the reviews to heavily weight my choice. I called three places, Texas Best Fence seemed to be the most excited to come up with a solution for what I was trying to do. I have never reviewed a service before so the fact that I'm doing so now should speak for itself. They did an outstanding job on my project. The fence is absolutely first class and the structure is awesome. Since the structure is not in a highly visible place in my yard, I was not overly concerned about the cosmetics of the finish out and Kevin informed me that all their structures were "first class" and if I really wanted to downgrade it, I would need to find another company (he did this in a very respectful way). I truly appreciated his honesty and the overall end product is more than I could have imagined. I only wish the structure was in a place where i could enjoy it more. I will likely call them back out to cover my patio in the future. I highly recommend Texas Best Fence, you will be very impressed with the outcome. It's obvious they run a first class operation! Showed up punctually on time. Took details but was not really very clear on how he would do the project. Said they will send a written estimate in a day or two but never heard back. Had good reviews in Angie list which baffles me.

The new fence is a very nice fence. It is strong, well built and looks beautiful. We are pleased with the outcome. We had some trouble with placement of a gate. Because of rain the install had to be moved to a day when I could not be present for the construction. I anticipated the project to take 2 days. When I arrived at home at 8:30 in the evening both gates were started with poles cemented into the ground. The person who did the drawing for the fence did not specify placement for the gate on my driveway. I asked the crew to move the gate, they were not happy. I had to pay more to move the cemented pole to be moved into the place where I had asked for the gate to be placed. My recommendation is to have a detailed drawing for the crew who builds the fence. The extra cost was minimal and we are happy with Texas Best Fence and our beautiful new fence.

Very well. I had a deadline to finish since company was coming. Even with rain delays they made it happen.

They sub-contracted Pengala co and they did really good job. Had to gas line which presented a problem but eventually got it done. Overall went well.

The salesman, Jeff, showed up on time for original bid. He was professional, explained everything in detail, and set realistic expectations. I did shop around for other bids, some which were lower, but I felt the most comfortable with Jeff and TBF. When the job began, they showed up on time, worked as late into the day as possible, and actually completed the job w/ clean up in 2 days, rather than the expected 3. I am very happy with the finished product, and I would recommend TBF to others.

The crew was phenomenal. I have never seen two men work this hard, with competence and total attention to detail. They created their own masterpiece.

They were professional and there were no problems.

Overall we are extremely pleased with the high quality fence they installed and they did a great job. Although the team was not very attentive to some details as they finished the job. When they arrived and took down the fence, the workers were careless and allowed a portion of the fence to fall on a 3' tall fig tree we planted about 3 feet from the fence. The workers allowed it to rest on the tree for some time until my wife noticed it and removed the fence herself. The team leader told us that the cost of the tree would come out of the workers paychecks. I didn't like this answer. Once the demo was done, we didn't have any other issues like this. Attention to detail. After the work was complete there were a couple of things we noticed that we did not address with Texas Best Fence because we didn't notice until the week after the work was complete, but I mention them here so others can learn from our failure to address at time of completion. 1. Concrete on the poles - concrete was on 80% of the bottom of the poles about a foot up from the ground. I believe this should have been cleaned at the time of installation of the poles, but we didn't catch it and I used a steel brush and water to clean it off the following week. 2. Pole Caps - after installation of the fence, they finished off by using a saw to cut the poles to the correct height and installed the caps. Many of the poles were cut off at angles and not parallel to the fence. Some of the pole caps don't fit well into the poles and stick up slightly. This is small thing, but a detail for it to be a top notch professional job.

Texas Best Fence arrived as scheduled and on time for my estimate. They took time to listen to what I wanted and also gave suggestions that would enhance the look and fence design. I received my estimate via email within 2 days of the appointment and was able to get the installation scheduled. The installation was completed as scheduled and took 2 days as they had said it would. Upon completion my yard was cleared of all trash and left over materials. I would use Texas Best Fence again and would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent dealing with them. I ended up going with another company just due to price, but almost hired them and would easily use them or recommend them to a friend or family.

We received several different quotes from companies. Texas Best Fence was the only one to provide different suggestions and options for us during the estimation phase. Andrea was very helpful and responsive in helping to decide what was best for our fence. We got on the schedule quicker than expected and they actually called to ask if they could move us up a day for they were ahead of schedule. The crew that came out was very nice, worked quickly, and did a great job. We love the new fence!

Had a little mix up initially with email communication. I had requested them to move ahead with the job and then I never heard back. They seemed to have overlooked my email. Once I contacted them again they had be scheduled. The scheduled date was also pushed back by a week due to a change in schedule of their resources. I was not in a huge hurry so it was not a big deal for us, however, for someone else who doesn't have the flexibility of time, this may be an issue.

They did a great job, did it quickly, and for less money than their competitors. They also recommended a few great ideas for us, like putting small windows in the fence for the dog. He loves them. The only odd thing -- about a year after installation, we took the cover off the engine for the electric gate, and there was an old pastry & pastry wrapper in there. Didn't do any harm, we thought it was funny. But kind of odd.

We had a bit of a communication problem getting the start date determined (I was contacting the office and I should have been contacting Jeff, who came to my house to give the estimate--the girls in the office were trying to help me but should have told me in the first place to contact Jeff). I was planning a trip and wanted it finished before the trip or wait till after I returned because I didn't want my house/dog sitter to be bothered with this. They had a delay due to weather (understandable) so it couldn't be completed before my trip so we decided on June 9. They actually showed up while I was gone so my house sitter called me. I was able to chat with the worker and asked him to hold off till June 9. They showed up promptly June 9 and worked diligently all day until the job was finished. I'm very happy with the workmanship. Part of the fence was between me and a neighbor and they are very pleased also.

,TBF met all my expectations and then some. This property wasn't the easiest to work with, with lots of roots and rocks to dig through,plus removing an old chain link fence that had old hackberry trees growing into them, not to mention the extreme heat these guys had to deal with. Jeff, my sales person, was easy to work with, and most of the time responded to my emails pretty fast.Had some weather delays which pushed the project back some, but none of which was there fault. The fence looks wonderful and several neighbors commented on it even while it was still being constructed.One guy walking by said "come build that fence on my property!" lol These guys know what they are doing and I would recommend them to anyone wanting a well-built sturdy nice looking fence or any other services TBF provides.

The entire experience was great. Jeff came out right on time to give me an estimate of the cost of the job. He made several suggestions that we incorporated into the job. I was very impressed with his professionalism. Over the next two weeks, I contacted him with additional questions. He was always prompt in returning my calls and fully answered my questions. I had two other companies make bids, but felt like that with Texas Best Fence I would get the most for my money. .A three man crew came out on the scheduled day. Moses was the foreman and he was outstanding. I can not say enough good things about him. It took three days to complete all the work. All three worked very hard and consistent during that time. The only time I saw them stop was during lunch. Moses answered all my questions during the process, and adjusted some things on my requestThe really amazing thing was how Moses completely built on sight the railing for the porch. He cut and welded each piece. It looks great. I have had several of my neighbors comment on how great the fence and railing look. I would definitely use Texas Best Fence again and recommend Jeff, Moses and his team to other individuals. The office staff was wonderful also.

I highly recommend them. I've used him multiple times and they do a really good job.

We did not choose this provider since we received a recommendation from our previous fence builder and we went with them. I would still recommend this provider since they have great products.

My experience with Texas Best Fence was very up and down. The initial consult was great. The salesman was on-time, helpful, and well informed. He quoted out a number of potential jobs and provided all of the information we requested. A couple days later we decided to hire Texas Best Fence to do our staining job. Then nothing happened. For roughly four weeks later, we heard nothing. When I reached out to the main office, I was told that the weather had caused major scheduling backups and they would get to me as soon as they could. I understand that things happen that make schedules go haywire. But Texas Best Fence could certainly have contacted me sooner (or at all for that matter) to tell me what was going on. Some weeks later, a contractor hired to do the work by Texas Best Fence contacted me about getting the job done. He was fantastic. His work was impeccable, he cleaned up the site, he was punctual--everything you could ask for in someone coming to work a job at your house. To put it simply, he is the sole and exclusive reason I would consider hiring Texas Best Fence again. After the job was done, I waited for an invoice. Our original agreement had a number of items quoted and we didn't hire Texas Best Fence to do all of them. As a result, I wasn't sure what we owed. A few weeks went by and no invoice came. Then I got a call about my fence. But it wasn't to give me an invoice or request payment. It was to schedule my job. Texas Best Fence was unaware that it had already done the work due to what I can only guess is poor record keeping and they had engaged a second contractor to come out. After telling the second contractor their was no work left to do, I called about the bill to find out what was going on. I was told that they don't send bills and I should have known from the contract how much to pay. Again, the contract had multiple jobs--only one of which we completed--and the impact of doing only one of the jobs on the ultimate price was not clear. Over the next week, I tried multiple times to get a bill. On the third try, I managed to get a copy. The day I got the bill I mailed check for the full amount. It was cashed shortly thereafter. But we weren't done yet. Five days after Texas Best Fence cashed the check I get a collection call from the salesman about paying the bill. I told the salesman I mailed a check. I then pulled up my account online and discover it had in fact been deposited. I tell that to the salesman. In response: excuses about paperwork. Texas Best Fence did great work but their admin side needs serious improvement. While the quality was good enough to bring me back, I'm disappointed that the office besmirched what was otherwise a good experience.

They came out the first time when they were supposed to. The work went quicker than expected because they stated they did not need to powerwash the fence and they would just stain. The quality of the work was not good. The Garage door is BLOTCHY and looks poorly done. On the gables stain dripped across the length of the window( the window washers removed on 7/23) not them as promised . I called Oscar (the person that did the work) immediately after the work was complete and he said he would come by touch it up and clean the stain off of the window. When I kept seeing the same result I called and he said he was too busy but would try. After a month I called the Salesman Nate and he said he would have someone come by to look at it. After another month when they asked for payment, I stated the problems with the work and they were surprised by this but said they would look into. No response until another month when they asked why I wasn't paying the bill. I told them the story again and they said the owner would come by and look into it. At this time I paid 1/2 of the bill. But still no one contacted me to say they came by and this was what was happening. On 7/30 I get a letter threatening legal action it I don't pay the balance of $409. I chose them because of their 2013 Super Service Award. Something isn't right here. It's obvious this company lacks the experience and ability to complete the work per their bid, if they could not do a quality job on the garage door don't bid it. I received 4 bids and 2 would not include the garage door because they did not feel they could do it correctly. The salesman here stated they could and he was wrong. Texas Best Fence lacks follow up and communication among themselves. I sense they have more business than they can handle. Do business with them at you own risk. A follow up Addition Colby the owner called today and explained the reason for the less than perfect stain on the garage door. We agreed that without significant wood work it would not be perfect. I asked for a $100 credit and he insisted that we take a $200 credit.
