Design phase initiated with request by us to include hardscape, deal with specific color and plant preferences. We were presented with automated digital rendition of proposal that turned out to be spot on. Digital proposal matched finished product adjusted for plant growth. Contractor used his crew that was experienced, polite, professional, organized resulting in quality work, that was cleaned up each day. Beds were well prepared, old dirt material was taken out of beds, going down foot and a half. New material tilled into soil, with top soil added and tilled before new plants installed. Quality plants used. Stone border was installed with rebar and mortared. Stone cut, installed, and treated to match home brick colors. One small 2 inch defect found in cement overlay after completion and payment was repaired immediately and to our complete satisfaction. More than a dozen neighbors have inquired about project. They saw the crew work and could easily tell the care taken and the quality result. We used most if not all of Clayton's suggestions in the project and are very pleased with the results. He knows what he is doing and he loves what he does. Good combination. They were happy with how it turned out and we were happy with the finished job. Absolutely love it. Plan on spending lots of time in our front yard enjoying our new landscaped yard.

Everything went well, according to schedule. The actual planting occurred just before our first big Winter wind blast I nearly December that toppled one of the Teddy bear magnolias. Clayton had someone out immediately to reinforce the magnolia. Unfortunately the ice storm that followed quickly, split the trunk of that tree. Clayton offered to buy a replacement at cost and plant at no expense to us other than the tree cost. All plants seem to be surviving the watering limitations and the extremes of the North Tx weather.

mrZ Contracting did a great job overall. They designed a proposal and sent a detailed list or labor and materials costs that would be needed for the job, along with an animated visual of what they yard would look like once the job was complete. My wife and I negotiated the price and list of items and their costs with the owner, Clayton. Once finalized, we signed off on the design and price list. Clayton did a great job communicating with us throughout the process and my wife and I are very pleased with the result. While I feel the price was a little more than I originally set out to pay, this is a case where "you get what you pay for". Great customer service. Great finished product. Great overall experience. I will definitely be using their service for the back yard.

If you live in Plano, or any area that has severe water restrictions this is the company to use. BACKGROUND: In May of 2013 I decided to get my landscaping completely gutted out and redone, including a stone wall and irrigation. I got quotes from 3 vendors. One was lower and the other was double the price of MRZ. The reason I chose MRZ was because 1. After meeting Clayton I immediately felt that he was passionate about what he does (I don?t know how anyone could enjoy plants but oh well) and 2. He sent me a CAD video of what my landscape would look like once it was fully grown. And that was FREE. I couldn?t believe it. 3. He offered a three month warranty on all the plants and one year warranty on the trees (very important since we were in Stage 3 water restrictions) PROCESS: Since I, like everyone else, decided to get my landscaping done in the Spring it took a while before the work actually began. The good part was that I was kept informed of the schedule. Once the landscaping was completed Clayton spent about an hour telling me how to care for each plant. He really loves this stuff. I took notes but I can see in my text messages that I have contacted him numerous times with questions and he has come to my house twice to check on ?his? plants.J WARRANTY: Shortly after installation, the lilies on the left of the house started dying. I contacted Clayton to complain and within weeks they were all replaced. Then towards the end of my warranty period the bushes on the right side of the house (the sunny side) started dying. I contacted Clayton again thinking he would say it was my fault for not watering enough. He informed me that because of the extreme heat to replace them would not be recommended and to wait until the Fall. Well his guys came back and not only replaced the two dead ones but replaced all five bushes. Needless to say I am very happy customer. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Phenomenal. We have remodeled our entire house and this is the only vendor I feel I can call and ask questions. The only vendor to send me an email saying Happy Thanksgiving, The only vendor to mail me a Christmas Card! And I am still impressed with the CAD video. They go above and beyond. PRICE: I think the price is very reasonable. If you are like me and have no idea what you want this company can help you. They are not the cheapest but I have no doubt they are the best. I used the cheapest 5 years ago and after everything died I decided that this time I would use experts. FAMILY BUSINESS: I also like the fact that it is a family business. The wife send out emails and paperwork, the son does the CAD work, and Clayton meets with the customers.

I have never had any significant landscaping done but everything seemed to go as planned and explained to me. MRZ was very responsive and addressed any concerns that I had. There were quite a few plants that were put in and as expected a couple did not do well. They were replaced promptly so I was very happy with that. Overall I would use them again.

All construction went well -- mrZ is extremely flexible (able to adjust to any changes requested), excellent customer service, strong communication skills and able to work with conflict (when we were technically confused). We had a few minor, normal glitches. mrZ immediately provided multiple options to work through. mrZ: -went above and beyond, treating us fair and educating us along the way. -has strong relationships with construction material vendors, making it easier to execute changes to specs. -was patient -- low pressure sales, willing to work on our timeline, and constantly keeping us in the loop. -willing to do anything to make sure construction stayed within timeline (e.g. ad hoc dirt moving just in time before rain) -did things right by the customer (e.g. sat down with us multiple times to talk through the contract -- a very expensive project and they wanted to make sure we were 100%). Overall, we have high trust in their work and would use them in the future.

I had 3 Landscape designers come out and look at our yard and discuss ideas that we had for landscaping. This was the first time we had every done anything like this so I had no idea on prices or if the plants that we liked would be good for our yard and the area. We told each of the person our ideas and walked the yard with them. All provided their input on the ideas that we had and we learned a lot in the process about plants, maintenance and watering requirements. Of the 3 the design that Clayton presented to us was closest to what we had in mind. We could tell from the detail that he really listened to us based on the type of plants and overall design. His design was clean and contemporary and fit with our active lifestyle with very little time to work in the yard. Clayton reviewed the design with us and gave us alternatives for the border to help us manage budget. We went with the stone border for more of a long term solution. From there we agreed on all the plants to be used and set a date for installation. One week prior to our installation date Clayton came our and marked the areas to be landscaped and put down weed killer. On the installation date the team arrived on time and went to work. They completed the job within the stated timeframe and always left the area clean and accessible each afternoon. They checked the irrigation system to ensure that all of the plants and shrubbery got required water and set the program for future watering. We did a complete walk through of each of the beds so that we knew what each plant was, what maintenance would be required and watering instructions. Everything looks as we expected and I completely love my yard. We get compliments daily from our neighbors. Everyone that we spoke with at Mr Z has been nothing but professional. Ramon who was one of the crew members was absolutely wonderful. Very patient and meticulous about his work. We absolutely enjoyed the experience and do plan to use them again on our backyard project.

This company was very professional and did exactly what they told me. Mr.Zachary was here every day that the work was being done and made sure that it was completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The end result was excellent and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

mrZ came to the house to discuss reworking the front, side & back yard landscaping. I explained I desired small, low maintenance plants that were very colorful. mrZ asked if he could produce a 3-D design for my approval, which they provided in 2-3 weeks. Once we reviewed and discussed the design and made a small modification for approval, I received the quote within 2 days. The pricing was extremely detailed and each section of the yard was broken-down. At that point, with so much extensive work to be completed, I could only afford to re-do the front and side yards; however, mrZ did work with me on the price and was able to provide a couple discounts if certain work was complete, such as the stone border. Once we signed the contract, mrZ began work immediately. mrZ would contact me almost daily to discuss what items they would be completing that day. The landscaping make-over took 1.5 weeks. Once the work was complete, we met the next day to make sure I was completely satisifed and discuss any items that needed to be addressed (which there were none). Also, mrZ provided me with a manual of how to take care of the plants and a water schedule that should be followed. MrZ came by numerous time to check the plants for 3 weeks as well as fix the existing exterior lighting. The landscaping turned out BEAUTIFUL and completely changed the look of the house! I am very pleased with all work and looking forward to having mrZ tackle the backyard in March of 2014.

We met with the contractor and describe what we were looking for. He came back with a through proposal to meet all of our needs. The work was exceptional and the owner has returned a number of times to ensure the plants are growing properly. Very pleased with the work and will use them to do some re-sodding elsewhere in my yard. I can highly recommend these people.

Clayton listened to what we asked for and provided it with care. The staff was very nice and extremely hard working. The place was cleaned up every evening before they left. Upon completion Clayton went over everything they installed and set my sprinkler system for the first two weeks of new sod and plants. He called me back 2 weeks later to remind me to return to regular watering cycle. The front yard is now beautiful and we get compliments everyday. Thanks Clayton and mrZ's staff

We purchased a home last fall which had been leased to a "friend" of the former owner. I imagine he is not a friend of the former owner anymore! The tenant had not watered or maintained the landscaping. The yard was either weeds or dirt. The trees were all overgrown and it was so shady that virtually nothing would grow. The pool was badly worn and the coping was pitted and crumbling. There were cracks in the patio and walkways. A tree had been tied to the neighbor's fence post and had broken the fence! A side yard was nothing but mud due to the runoff from the neighbor's yard and the absence of any grass. It was a mess. We wanted to hire someone that could handle the yard and the pool so it would all get done at once. Clayton was prompt for every appointment. He discussed what we wanted and came up with a detailed plan that we could see on paper and on our computer in an animated view. We got to see what each bed would look like from every angle. Clayton had various options that we could choose and each cost was broken out and plain to understand. We decided what we wanted to do and Clayton gave us a time line and a contract. As the project went along, we decided to add some other things, and Clayton made sure that each item was added to the contract with the cost in writing, so that there were no surprises. He is very organized. He is very knowledgeable. His crew was reliable and worked hard. Everything was completed according to schedule. Clayton has been great at following up and replacing the two small items that died. He is continuing to be a great resource for us and our yard. The timing of each phase was planned so that there would be minimal mess in the yard and pool. The pool portion of the project was about $9500. It turned out great! We absolutely love it. We have had many positive comments on our yard. This is the third house we have completely landscaped and believe it is worth every penny! We have always bought homes that were on the market a long time, and have always been able to sell them quickly. We believe the landscaping is the difference. We now have a fabulous back yard and pool and spend many happy hours out there. The pool looks amazing. The color is beautiful and we have Clayton's group of pool professionals to thank for their suggestions and excellent work. (we were just going to re plaster it in white, but the gray they recommended makes the pool look a Mediterranean blue, very beautiful.) We couldn't be happier and feel that this was the best experience we have had from a landscaping professional.

We called mrZ Contracting (along with other landscapers) to ask for a quote for a new landscape design in our front yard. Although we had an idea of what we wanted it to look like we basically put a couple of restrictions in place but left it up to the designer to present to us their ideas. Clayton Zachery responded quickly and professionally. Clayton came to the house and spoke to us in 'laymen' terms although he is a trained horticulturist. You could tell he loves what he does by the way he seemed to have it designed in his head before putting it on paper. He told us he would be back to us with a design (including a 3-D rendering) in a few days. He did exactly that. He came back, presented his ideas with a quote and a link to a website that contained the 3-D view that we could look at and think about for a few days before making the decision. He explained their process and the fact that they use their own team to do all the installations. Also, many designers charge for their design --- Clayton did not. No pressure just facts and professionalism. It was clear to us who we wanted to use. We decided to go with mrZ and we are SO glad we did. The installation was done on time and exactly as he promised. The quality of the work was incredible. The preparation for the landscaping took most of the time which is essential to a good landscaping installation. Our landscaping has received so many comments form our neighbors. We could not be happier!

My experience with MRZ was nothing short of wonderful. From start to finish, Clayton and his team were the most professional contracting company I have ever worked with. From my initial contact, Clayton responded within 24 hours to begin the information gathering process for my project. He was detailed in his questions, and helped gain a very clear understanding between us about the primary goals and direction of the project. Further, he and his team quickly put the vision on paper with detailed computer aided design drawings, along with itemized cost estimates. The team worked with me through several iterations to ensure that I was completed satisfied with the design. When the time came to execute each phase of the project, Clayton not only showed me examples of the materials, but also took me on site to the suppliers to make sure I was happy with the choices and to assist in the selection process. Finally, Clayton and his crew flawlessly executed on everything they promised. He worked diligently not only to remain within budget, but was creative in searching for alternatives to deliver superior quality at a reasonable price. His crew was timely, professional, thorough, and courteous. They worked quickly and efficiently to create a relaxing and beautiful landscape and outdoor kitchen. In the end, I can't say enough nice things about my experience with Clayton and MRZ Contracting, and would recommend them to anyone considering a landscaping, lighting, fencing, retaining structure, irrigation, or outdoor kitchen. In short, they can do it all, and do it well. Run, don't walk, to MRZ.

Did an excellent job, showed up when they said they would, finished early. Very happy with the final product. Also, gave us a very reasonable price compared to other quotes we received. Very communicative with us to ensure we were satisfied.

Michael was very professional and friendly. I would hire them again, even though they were later than originally expected to complete the job. I was extremely happy with the job, it was beautiful, they worked with me to keep within my budget and I was very happy with the quality and how it all turned out.

Our initial phone call was acted on immediately. Clayton came out to our home and we went over all the issues in detail. Clayton recognized our difficulties and thoroughly explained the options and was very knowledgable as to not only solving our dilema but enhancing our property. The work was done in a timely manner and Clayton was on our property almost daily to make sure all was going as planned. Overall, we were very satisfied with their knowledge and professionalism.

They were on time with their timeline to complete the work. The crew was very polite and helpful when I asked questions. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. They hulled things away. The price was just like it was supposed to be.

We prefer not to share the quote amount but it was probably high. We decided to use somebody else. We thought MRZ Contracting Inc did very good but they were just higher than the other two quotes that we got. We also thought they paid a lot of attention to detail and got us a pretty comprehensive design.

I would highly recommend them. I was very pleased with him. I can’t say enough about him. I liked everything about them like the communication, cooperation, compatibility, the work crew that came out. We had bad weather and we had to deal with that. We had few setbacks with the line that was in adversely cut and had to wait for that. So he was very thorough and there was 3D availability on the CAD program which is that they can construct what you want on the computer and make sure what would things look like in depth and what would not. They were very handy. The kind of plants, the horticulture name and just the everyday name we walked the yard twice. I couldn’t find a more co-operative compatible group. Everything looks nice. I am the front shine of the neighborhood. I wanted to do water conservation and as closed to zero landscape as I can’t be bending over and picking up things. So I have a lot of ground cover now. I have plants that are indigenous to this area so that they don’t use a lot of water. They are from west Texas, so they are very indigent to what grows well and water conservation etc. I am very impressed with that part.
