Response from Advent Air Conditioning Inc.
Thank you for the review. Spring inspection was performed on April 25, 2014. Seasonal maintenance is to clean and test the functionality of all components in the system to insure optimal performance during peak operation. During this maintenance visit the technician found a component that was operating outside of the manufacture recommended specifications. The homeowner accepted the repair and the repair was completed during the visit. This particular run capacitor that was installed in the machine by the manufacture happens to be made overseas and the failure rate is high especially with extreme outdoor temperatures. When Advent Air Conditioning replaces a run capacitor we install ones that are made in the USA and carry a 5 year parts warranty. Had this repair gone un-noticed it is highly that a failure would have occurred, typically during peak run time. Said retail operations do not carry run capacitors in their stores for the simple fact that electrical circuits are dangerous and could cause harm if not treated by licensed and trained technicians. Maintenance is always recommended by ALL equipment manufactures to keep the limited warranties in place and valid. Lack of maintenance can lead to increased utility costs, premature failures, poor comfort, poor indoor air quality just to name a few. In the said instance the homeowners cost for the repair was $147.99, our maintenance customers receive a 10% discount on all repairs deducting $14.80 and we also allowed the homeowner to use a $25.00 coupon. Total for said repair was $108.19. We at Advent Air Conditioning strive for 100% satisfaction 100% of the time while maintaining Quality, Honesty and Integrity to all of our clients. We only grow based on referrals, therefore we take every review to heart. Thank You, Advent Air Conditioning.
