Initially they did a good job of quoting me a new system. They did not try to push an expensive system on me, they simply gave me all of that facts and let me make an informed decision. Weeks also does a great job of installation. The crew arrived on time and did a great job of installing the unit. They were very experienced and professional. They left the work area clean and passed the inspection with no issues. My over all experience was great and I would not hesitate to use Weeks services in the future. I also subscribe to their bi-annual HVAC maintenance program which is well worth the money.
Description of Work: Replaced the entire air handler, electric heater and AC coil in attic and also raised the outside AC unit up onto a taller concrete slab.

We called Weeks Service Co. to schedule the service and talked with a very pleasant and courteous person. The service was scheduled for the following week for a 3 hour period. They followed through with their promise to call approximately 30 minutes ahead of the serviceman's arrival. The serviceman arrived promptly as expected and was very courteous, friendly and professional. He was very thorough and performed all the expected activities on the tune-up list. Both systems were tried and functioned properly. He described all the work done, what he found and recommendations for us to keep both systems running well. We definitely recommend Weeks and will use them in the future.
Description of Work: performed a tune-up service on both the heating and air conditioning systems.

Initial call was on Sat 9/21, called in morning got afternoon appt. Mike came and diagnosed issue pretty quickly. Unfortunately he didn't have part in van as my unit was so old it called for different type of fan motor. Customer service called by 9am on Monday 9/23 with pricing of fan motor and capcitor after accepting the pricing we scheduled for later on Monday. customer service even called a stop before mine to let me know where Mike was. he showed up and installed needed items in 30-45 mins. Very professional. Unit running great to date. Thanks

Horrible! Where to start...? I paid them their normal service rate to come and check my system out and was given a good, clean bill of health on my 5 yr 10 month old system. Good, no GREAT! Okay, so this is where it starts to go down hill. I start having issues with my a/c system Friday August, 30th. I called WEEKS to come out to the house because the house was heating up and wasn't cooling off (around 10 am). They said they can't get a technician to come out until after 5:30 pm, but couldn't give me a time (No Problem). The technician comes out (under warranty from the service check from July) and spends all his time at the condensing unit working on a and quot;small leakand quot; on one of the valves. The technician proceeds to put 4 POUNDS of Freon into my system and left the house calling everything good. House starts cooling off (mind you it's 7 PM!) The VERY next morning around 10 AM I notice my system doing the EXACT same thing!! Call WEEKS and they said the same thing (We can get someone out there, but I can't give you a time). Technician shows up to the house around 11AM (which was FAST), but he continues to do the EXACT SAME THING the previous technician from the day before did! He found another and quot;small leakand quot; at the condensing unit and charged the system back up with 3 POUNDS of Freon (less than 24 hours from previous charge, HELLO!?) He calls the system good and after he was harassed on the phone by the office to continue on his schedule, he felt he could/should spend more time on my system, but apparently I (Along with NEWBORN and WIFE) weren't as important as maintaining his schedule. THREE HOURS LATER!!! 4 PM the house starts to heat back up!!!!!! I said forget calling them back out (The technician tried to sell me on some P.O.S. Amana system for $6,800!), I decided to join Angie's List and find a reputable company. This is where I found Air Tech's of Houston! They came out THAT NIGHT, did a COMPLETE inspection, and found (AND SHOWED ME) a rusted out Evaporator Coil in the attic! This is where I am asking myself, HOW THE HECK didn't anyone from WEEKS catch this? How did my system get a and quot;Good, Clean Bill of health from the initial inspection?? Not only did WEEKS lose on a new purchase, but their technicians wasted about 7 pounds of Freon in the process! Needless to say, I did get my $89.00 returned (check is in the mail, not in hand), but I will NEVER do business with this company again. THREE STRIKES AND THEY ARE OUT!!!!
Description of Work: I had them service my a/c system initially in July.

My score is a combination score because of the enormous disaster caused by the inattention of the first tech. The first tech came out on June 28, 2013 to service my unit for the Summer. He cleaned various components and cleared the condensation drain line. But he forgot to close it, and I didn't know it until later. I asked him to install a wireless thermostat, and he couldn't make that work. Then he tried to sell me duct cleaning and an attic tent. I passed. A week and one day later, I went into my downstairs garage to retrieve something and stepped in a puddle of water. After running upstairs, I found algae growing on the ceiling in the bedroom directly under the A/C drain line. I called my plumber to check to make sure no plumbing issues were present. He found the drain line running like a faucet and closed it. I called Weeks and they sent out the second tech. He saw the damage done and found another issue that the first tech didn't mention. We had a hole in our exchange. The second tech plastered it as a temporary fix. He shook his head about the first tech trying to sell us duct cleaning and told us not to do it, but instead we needed to replace the ductwork system. I called my insurance company who send a third party to pull out the wet mess and dry out all the rooms upstairs...because it had saturated everything...including the beds...and more. The service manager called me and apologized for the entire matter and promised his insurance company would make things right. The adjusters for my and their insurance company came out a few days later and their adjuster found more water from the condensation drain line. I called Weeks and they sent out a third tech who re-performed the maintenance and found that the first tech did not reconnect the drain line inside the unit. So, my score is actually an average of the following scores: First Tech = F across the board Second Tech = B across the board Third Tech = A across the board Service Manager = A across the board My insurance company = A across the board Their insurance company = I don't know yet...their insurance adjuster said they weren't going to pay for everything. So, expect them to get my review after this is all said and done. That first tech really sullied things and I now have to pay for the repairs and then file for reimbursement. The process is painful to say the least. And we still have to have the entire ductwork system re-run at a proposed cost of $3500 if I go with Weeks. We'll see how the estimates go.
Description of Work: The first tech performed regular maintenance. The second tech fixed part of what the first tech messed up. The third tech fixed part of what the first tech messed up and part of what the second tech missed. The service manager was very apologetic about the disaster the first tech caused. Their insurance company is helping repair the damage that resulted.

Came home on a hot Wednesday evening about 5:00PM and noticed the house was very warm. Thermostat showed 85 degrees. Hubby checked it out and discovered the outside unit was working but the blower in the attic wasn't. Called one place really close to our house and didn't get a good customer service vibe from the man that called back. We decided to call Weeks. (We used Weeks back in 2008 for an electrical install when we first bought the house and they were awesome.) The lady that answered the phone was pleasant and provided excellent customer service over the phone. She said we would either receive a call from the tech or he would be there by 7:00PM. She was right. He was ringing our doorbell at 7:00PM sharp. He and his helper checked out the system and told us a board had gone bad on the blower. He bypassed it for the evening so we could stay cool then said we'd get a call first thing in the morning about a replacement board and a scheduled time to come back and fix it. Sure enough, at 8:30 Thursday morning I received a call from Weeks. They had the part, quoted me a cost and said the guys would be back out that afternoon to fix it. He was there by 4:00PM; took him all of 15 minutes to replace the board and have us back in the chill. What was even better is that he took the time afterward to discuss the age and condition of our AC system and make recommendations to us for the future. The cost to repair our system was right in line with what we thought it would be. When planning for the future replacement of our system we will include Weeks in our search.

They came out and checked out the AC unit. Informed me of the coil have lots of corrosion and consequently a bunch of tiny leaks. The replacement coil would take about 4 days to arrive. So in the meantime the technician refilled the freon so that my AC could cool the house. Once the part arrived they came right out and made the repair. The tech and the office staff were very professional and accurate with their estimates, no surprise costs popped up on the 2nd trip.

Our home was built in 1983 so there were some upgrades we wanted as well as some repairs. I contacted Week's Service company for an estimate. The technician (Donald) came out to our home the next day. We walked him through all the things we wanted done and explained some were necessary and some were wish list items depending on the price. Donald sat down and broke it all out on a proposal form by project and price. He gave us details we were not aware of (our city code required that all closets have a cover over light bulbs---no exposed bulbs allowed and that the smoke detectors would need to be upgraded to smoke and carbon monoxide combo as also required by city code). He also explained that if we had over $500 work done, the $96 labor fee would be waved. The total for all projects to be done was $1422. We were so surprised by the great price that we agreed to have it all done. We asked if they could do it by the end of the week. He called the office and was able to get it scheduled for Friday. We received a call from their office the day before to set up a time the technicians would be out. The day of the service we received another call 30 minutes before the scheduled time to let us know the technicians were on their way. Travis and Julio arrived on time and both of them introduced themselves and shook our hands. We walked Travis through the house pointing out all the work to be done. They got started immediately. We had purchased the two light fixtures for the garage, 2 smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, 3 light fixtures w/globes, and light bulbs from Lowe's the day before. During the day, we ran into a few issues. I could not find the original light kit for the ceiling fan so I ran over the Lowe's to purchase a new one. In addition, we had asked Travis about replacing a new security light fixture for the front of the house and he agreed so I purchased a new one while at Lowe's. These two guys worked so hard despite tremendous heat (we were also having the A/C duct work upgraded so there was no A/C while they were working and temperature in the house was in the low 80's and outside in the garage was at least upper 90's or higher). They never lost their upbeat attitudes, friendliness or professionalism. They kept us informed throughout the entire process. In the end, they not only completed all of our list, including wish list items, but added the security light replacement and upgraded the GFCI outlet in the master bathroom (which is what was causing the issue with the outlet in the guest bathroom). They also re-ran the wiring to the garage door opener and installed a new outlet to plug it into and installed a dual switch in the master bedroom for the ceiling fan and light switch instead of just the light switch we had before. For all of the additional work, they only charged us an extra $50 so the total for all the work done was $1472. Travis and Julio were OUTSTANDING! No matter how many questions, comments or even the additional requests we had while they were there, they were extremely accommodating and never made us feel that we were imposing or impeding their work. Travis and Julio were sincerely friendly and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Don't hesitate to use Week's Service Company for any and all electrical needs...and ask for Travis and Julio! We were that impressed!
Description of Work: Installed 3 closet light fixtures and switches, installed ceiling fan light kit, installed 2 light fixtures in garage and wired to existing light switch, rewired garage door opener and installed new outlet for opener, changed out GFCI outlet, installed new outside security light fixture, installed new dual switch for light and ceiling fan and installed 2 smoke/carbon monoxide detectors

It was a Sunday morning around 11:30 when we noticed the air conditioner wasn't working . We immediately called Weeks as we had used them before and knew they could fix it. The repairman came to our house within the hour, he was here by 12:30. Can you believe he was here that fast and on a Sunday. It was unbelievable. He immediately tested the thermostat and knew it wasn't allowing the unit to come on. He replaced the thermostat and then went and looked at the outside unit where he saw there were burnt wires. He replaced the contactor and wires and now the unit is working great. He asked if we had any storms recently. We told him we had a lightening storm the night before. He said he felt that lightening had hit it and burnt the contactor and wires. He was here from approximately 12:30 to 3:30. The unit is now working great and we love the new thermostat.

My cooling unit wasn't cooling so I called Weeks Service Company. They were able to have someone come out the next afternoon which I was very happy to hear considering they must be very busy in the summer. The serviceman didn't show up when I was told, but he (or the dispatcher) did call me before he was to show up and let me know he was running late and when he would arrive which I really appreciated. He was able to pinpoint the problem right away. The compressor wasn't coming on due to a shorted run capacitor. He was able to find a replacement in his service vehicle and replaced the bad capacitor. He then checked my operating pressures and verified my unit was cooling. I asked him about replacing my cooling and heating units as they are over 25 years old. He suggesting waiting for the sales they have in the fall.

The job went extremely well. The electrician's coordination with the power company allowed the house power to be back on by mid afternoon. The electrician was able to keep the new larger breaker panel in-line with the overhead mast and meter box by removing a brick (behind the panel) and moving the wires going into the house. Other estimators indicated the new larger breaker panel would likely have to be off-set from the meter box. The electrician completed the work very neatly, which was also appreciated by my wife, as the panel is on the side of the house with the driveway.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 items: old FPE breaker panel with larger Square D unit, meter box and mast to the overhead power line. Reconnected to conduit going underground to my detached garage. Added a surge protector and an external outside outlet.

The system we had installed seven years ago was done poorly. Instead of fitting and getting the pieces to fit together properly the original company just taped the system together. RC from weeks came, took out the old rotting parts and made measurements. He left for a few hours to go back to the Weeks shop to make the parts we needed. He came back with help. The metal parts they brought in looked professional. They put in the parts all while working in the attic in 100+ heat. I was so impressed that they just kept going and going until they were done. They added a piece to the piping so that I can add a little bleach to keep the drain unclogged. They made the system the way it should have been originally. They thought of the future in their design instead of just fixing the immediate problem. The air came out of our vents with a force we had never experienced before. We are very happy with the work they did and will definitly use them again. Lynn, the man who gave us the estimate from Weeks came in at a much higher price than another company. He said he could do for $200 what the other company was going to do for $1,500, but he wouldn't be doing us a favor because the system would still be done poorly. He gave me the quote of $2300 to make parts that would fit on our original system so the air flow would be at its best. I believe Weeks IS THE BEST!

Called office and set up an appointment for an estimate. The assistant manager for electrical arrived on time and provided the estimate. He set up installation for the same week, per my request. The morning of the installation the office called to confirm the appointment. The electrician arrived on time and completed the job as promised. He identified another small problem during the install and fixed it at no charge. Everyone I dealt with at Weeks was very polite and courteous. Also, the electrician clearly knew what he was doing. He was one of the most professional and knowledgable home repair professionals I've ever dealt with. I thought their pricing was reasonable (not the absolute cheapest you could find, but you get what you pay for). They accepted the Angie's List coupon which saved almost $200. Note the price I paid was after the discount but does include the $200 permit to the city of Houston. Weeks installed my A/C about two years and they did a supurb job on that as well. Also, having dealt with them twice now for major installations I can definitely say they clean up after themselves and don't track mud into your home (if they come in, they put shoe covers on). They also do very pristine looking installations. The materials are high quaility and everything is always positioned, attached, stapled, etc. to looked very finished and clean.

Annual check up found pin hole leaks in evaporator coil. Decided to replace same, which was scheduled and performed the following day. While replacing the evaporator coil, the technician (Eric Q) suggested an inspection of duct work for leaks. Numerous leaks were found with many spots missing insulation due to squirrels/rodents. The technician (Eric Q) gave me a bid to replace same, scheduled work the next day and had all work completed, to include removal of old ducts, within time frame described (13+ hours). Eric and his assistant (David J) stayed to ensure A/C and duct work performed well (cooling w/o leaks) before leaving that night. All work was done within scope of proposal. I have used Weeks for years and will continue, without hesitating. Thanks.
