Weeks came to do the pre summer AC checkup on April 30th, 2011. Checkup covers inspection of condenser and evaporator coils, and other items as identified on their web site. The site and advertisement claims free repairs if any issue with the inspected items later in the summer. All checked out ok. On June 30th, 2011, one of the attic units leaked, through the upstairs ceiling. Water from the primary drain pan. I called Weeks on July 1st, and they sent someone that same day. He inspected the unit and determined it was rusted and needed replacement. He could not fix it at that time.

I had used established Air Conditioning and Heating contractor in Alvin, Tx in the past to service my furnace. Satisfied with their work and called them to service Central A/C. I had their flyer showing $85.00 for the work I wanted done and also expiration date of 4/30/11. I asked for a discount as I was established customer. Was told I would have to ask the owner and that the price was $125.00. Which I thought was a little high .I checked Angie's List and picked Weeks Service Company, based on positive reviews. Phoned them and was given a price of $89.00. When I asked if this included my 'blue eyed, gray hair discount'. Briggit said that was worth 5% bringing the price to $84.55, We agreed upon appointment time. Mike Lewis, showed up promptly at 1:05pm. Went right to work in the attic: checked blowers, amp draw, bearings, performance all good. Removed permanent filter in blower casing, as we use a change out filter.Checked and cleaned e-coil. Rust proofed unit. In conversation with Mike, it was disclosed that the ceiling duct blew down on wife. He got a ladder, took down the duct and taped inside louvers to prevent the down draft. Which I thought was above and beyond what he was hired to do. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism,

Perfect = cheaper than I thought it would cost for a 6-month checkup and repair.
Description of Work: Weeks has done several repairs and seasonal inspections on our 1997 heating and AC units. They have never failed to impress us with their professionalism, courtesy and price. I would recommend them to anyone. They recommended replacing our pans, which we did and they cleaned all the gunk out of the drain hoses. Great job!

Lynn Marshman, technician, was excellent and very professional. He explained everything he was did and even explained how the HVAC system works. He took what I consider to be a long time to service the system, so he was very thorough, but the charge was still very minimal. We are very pleased - actually we couldn't be happier! We highly recommend Weeks for AC service.
Description of Work: We had our AC serviced by Weeks. We wanted to prevent any major problems from happening during the hot summer. Serviced and cleaned the entire system. Identified a potential problem and made suggestions and provided estimates for future work.

They made the whole process as painless as possible. I was given several options along with the costs. The rep was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. There was no sales pressure to go with the most expensive option, although that is what I did. Financing was done with a simple call to the office. The technicians that came out to install the new heater were very professional and polite. They even cleaned up after themselves. The work was done right, done on time, and at a reasonable price. The information I got about the tax refund on the high efficiency heater was exactly correct. I've been with Weeks for over a decade and they've always done excellent work.
Description of Work: I found out that I needed a new heater after Weeks discovered a major problem with the heater during the annual routine inspection. Weeks Service installed a new high efficiency heater and removed the old heater.

My experience with Weeks indicates a company too big that will do a bad job for some because they simply can't be timely, and oh, they also sell a bad product in their heating and AC units. We started getting service from weeks in 2002 or so. They were courteous, but you had to sit around a whole half day waiting for them, they would not schedule your prepaid annual service calls for usually 2-3 weeks later upon calling because they were full up, meaning you would have to plan that far in advance to have a time to receive them for service. You would think that when you prepay they would schedule you for a call in the next couple days when calling them, but no. I found all of the dispatchers that you call to be completely out of touch with their host of service people in the field. For example, for the second to last service call, I got the call from the dispatcher at 1:30 pm that the guy would arrive around 2 pm. So I left work right then, went home, and waited. No one arrived, so at around 3:30 PM I called back and the dispatcher said the guy was 30 minutes out. No one arrived, so at 4:45 PM I called again, got the same line. No one arrived. So at 6:30 PM, I called and got voice mail, so I supposed that no one was going to arrive and left them a not so nice voice mail noting that I wasted a whole afternoon and no one showed up. Then around 6:45 PM, well after work hours, I got a call from a Weeks service guy who said he was on his way. I said it is after work hours, he said something like well we always work this late for afternoon calls. Okay fine, but why was I lied to the whole afternoon and had to take time off from work? He had no response to this. Then he went to do the inspection of the furnace, which lasted 5 minutes, I asked him if he would inspect the ducts and he said no. He then proceeded to go back out to his truck and did paper work for 30 minutes that I signed for the inspection. That is what I got for my prepaid inspection! The last call was the one that never happened, I gave them one more chance. I scheduled the AC inspection for the spring, of course I had to schedule 2-3 weeks in advance for my prepaid contract, and the day of the inspection, for which I had arranged my whole work week to so I could be there, they called and asked if they could reschedule. I told them no and cancelled on the spot. Enough is enough. To their credit, they did send me my prepaid contract money back, but it can't possibly make up for all of the lost time at work. But the worst was buying the HVAC system from them in 2007. They put both the Amana furnace in the attic and the AC unit against the wall outside on concrete blocks. When they turn on, they resonate loudly through the house, you sure know when they are on, but we paid $7K and can't replace. The furnace has been a debacle from the onset. It sounded like a jet taking off when starting up. I told them this was not right, and after 3 service calls they still could not get it right. Finally I talked the Mr. Weeks himself and said enough was enough, I had spent 3 half days off from work to be there and they could not fix the problem. He, to his credit, sent out his top manager to finally solve the problem on the 4th visit. All they did is put sound deadening rubber pads between the furnace and the blocks, it now deadens most of the sound but still is loud in the house compared to the previous unit. The AC unit to this day, well you can sure tell in the house when this exterior unit is on, again, previous unit you could not hear in the house. Here is the kicker with the furnace. It had an Amana cooling coil. The first one went bad about 1.5 years after we bought it right after Ike in Fall 2008, after the 1 year labor warranty expired. So Weeks charged us several hundred dollars to replace - the total bill was $900, but that included in part the 'emergency' inspection right after Ike, although the part was free and under warranty. Then last year, suddenly in June, 2010 our AC would not cool the house. By that time, we had given up on Weeks, we called another HVAC service company, who came in and said they could replace the coil with the same Amana one, but noted he could not guarantee it would not go bad again in the next 2 years like the first 2 did and that they were hard to fix. He recommend instead we replace it with an American Standard coil and we did, and he noted that if it gets leaks, unlike the Amana coil, the leaks are in places that can be repaired so one does not have to replace. He noted he had 2 decades of experience on both Amana and American Standard, and it was in the last few years that the Amana coils began to have problems. Since buying the furnace, we have had problems with it turning on, Weeks never identified the problem. When setting the thermostat for the furnace to turn on, it would start, then die, start then die, etc. from which you could hear easily in the house given the noise problem we have with this furnace. But this was a problem and came and went so we ignored it because we never had too many cold periods the last 4 years where we would suffer it the problem arose. Finally, this winter on those really cold days, we had the new AC guy out, who was able to identify the problem as the board running the Amana furnace. It had something wrong with it, so he replaced it for labor cost, as the part was under warranty. We had our previous AC/furnace unit in this house upon buying it in 2001 until the new Amana units installed by Weeks in 2007, not a single problem. The Amana units Weeks installed, nothing but problems, now with several thousand dollars in repair costs in less than 4 years! All in all, glad we switched HVAC service companies!

I would recommend them to anybody. They are a little higher in price but it is worth it. They even lie down covers for your carpet so that they don't track anything into your home.
Description of Work: In February we almost had a fire caused from a faulty electrical socket. I called them to come out to look at our electrical socket. They came out and took care of the problem very quickly, examined everything and informed of us what all was going to need to be done. They came out and replaced our breaker box. They also replaced another wire coming from our oven. They is also installing GCF covers on our sockets. Wedensday they are coming over to replace a light fixture in our kitchen.

They tell you about what they do. They are very efficient. They are very knowledgeable. They have done a very good job of keeping our HVAC system in good condition. We have been happy with the maintenance they have done. They used to come out twice a year, but they just changed their system last year and they now only come out once a year. It has been good so far. We have had no trouble with the system and we have it routinely serviced by them. They give some kind of a discount for their routine service. I have been very happy with them because they show up when they say they are going to be here. They call in advance and whoever they send out takes care of the system. In fact, we found out that the previous owner of this house like 12 years ago before we bought this house used Weeks Service Co. So, apparently it has been the same people for over a decade. Their last service was a total of $347 worth of work. They did the last service and left within an hour. We got some discount for the last service for having a routine service contract with them for having repair work done. The job done by them was fine. In the past 12 years there was only one person I thought wasn’t very efficient. I have no evidence if they didn’t do exactly what they said they would do. However, he took noticeably longer than anyone else had ever taken to do the very same thing. Most of them are in and out in about 35 to 45 minutes. I can tell that they are working because I can see them moving around, washing and they do their job. We haven’t had any problems with these people. They are very professional. They train their people very well. I have even complimented them. I am an old lady. I am so impressed when I meet somebody who is 20 years old who can do that level of excellent work professionally and politely. There was one young guy and I couldn’t believe he was so young because he was so good at what he did. I have no intentions of changing unless they change.
Description of Work: We use the services of Weeks Service Co for our heating and AC maintenance. We have a routine maintenance contract with them. We have had them for 10 years and they do a routine service. Their last service was on November 1st and they replaced a capacitor and another part.

Their follow up I felt was inadequent. The fixtures they put in the closets were junk and I think they knew this at the time. Basically the material they sold me was outdated and they seemed to pretend that it wasn't. About a year after they put them in place I got tired of pulling the string to turn the lights on. After about the 10th time you pulled the chord the light would finally stop fluttering and come on to stay. I went back to see if Weeks would help me with the problem. I knew the fixtures were out of warranty but even still Weeks was not the slightest bit interested. All they would offer to do was to sell me another fixture just like it...the same junk. Since they weren't interested in helping me I set about researching it myself. I purchased the bulbs and ballast for the fixtures at Bay Electric Supply. They are that sold me what I needed, that should have been available during the original project. I really feel that they let me down with their lack of professionalism and customer service. Also, in my 75 years I have never found an electrician who would label and mark the circuit breaker. I have asked them to mark and label the circuit box but this is not something they will or have done. Weeks was the most recent electrician They did not mark or label one circuit in the box and that would come in handy because the person who is using the circuit box would know where the circuits lead to.
Description of Work: They installed two complete electrical circuits, from the circuit breaker to sites around the house. One of the circuits was a dedicated circuit for a printer. The third thing they did was put 3 24" flourescent lights in different closets and brought the elecricity to them.

It went very well; however I was disappointed that the work was only three (3) hours and the labor amount was $1,100.00. I think that was too high for what was done. I like them very, very much, but I will get two estimates the next time.
Description of Work: Our a/c was not blowing well, we believed the fan had stopped. We called Weeks, they took a look and the condenser was bad and something else was frozen. He stated that the good part was that the AC unit was a 2008 model and the parts were under warranty, but the labor was not. the money we spent was labor only. the repairman replaced parts and we were cool right away. As a matter of fact, they came on at night about 10:30 pm and fixed it so that we could get some cool air until they could come back with the parts. They showed up about the time they were supposed to and completed the work in less than 3 hours.

Very well; this was to be a second opinion on getting a new A/C unit, but they determined it wasn't an A/C problem. The A/C guy sent out an electrician who located the problem and repaired it. He was unable to use the same wires, and had to run a new conduit. Price was discussed ahead of time, and nothing was a surprise.
Description of Work: Air conditioner was blowing master breaker sometimes; I'd had another quote that it was the unit that needed replacement. First work was determining problem was NOT the A/C unit, second was determining it was the A/C circuit. It was replaced by running new conduit outside to the unit.

I had a bathroom ventilation fan which had gone out. Unfortunately, the previous owner who had installed had really performed some shenanigans in getting the unit installed so it was virtually impossible for me to replace it on my own. I called Weeks, and they sent out a very excellent electrician who was able to extricate the old unit and replace it with a unit that I had already purchased for a reasonable fee that was qouted to me before the start of the work. The actual installation was a challenge but the electrician showed a lot of initiative and creativity in getting the unit installed and working.

They are great to deal with. The service men are very pleasant and neat. They either take their shoes off or put on booties over their shoes to conduct the service. If they are running late, they will call and ask if the appointment still works for you or if you need to reschedule. Very Professional.
Description of Work: We have been using Weeks for a few years now for our annual service on the HVAC. They come twice a year, once during spring to check the AC and then in the fall to check the heater. The cost is for both visits.
