PAR Construction

Construction went pretty much as discussed. If I were to complain it would be that I felt a little more care could have been taken to keep the carpet clean when tile was being cut in the early stages. Paper protection was laid on the floor later and was appreciated. In all a good job was done.

Worker arrived thirty minutes late. He was courteous and professional while he was here but there was generally a lack of attention to detail - screws are screwed in crooked in closet, grout doesn't completely seal crack in shower, wood shavings were left in the floor by the door where work was done, paint was chipped off of door, etc. Late into the work, the owner of the service arrived with another worker. The owner was not friendly. Pricing was also questionable - I had previously been quoted a rate of $85/hour for two workers yet was charged $85/hour when only one worker showed up for 3/4 of the time. When I went to take out the trash this afternoon, I discovered that the worker had poured oil based paint on top of other bags of garbage in our trashcan leaving me a big mess to clean up.

Perfect - Roger and his crew were very professional. Very professional.

On the phone Roger had said he was suspicious that the mold was coming from a leak. I was surprised as our house had been built in the fall of 2012. He said sometimes new work wasn't done properly and he would take a look at it, but he was pretty certain that was the cause. The original guy called to say he was back and would be over to do the work as originally planned. Roger's guess was on the money. The shower lip had been improperly installed and it took a week to dry out the area. I called Roger back to tell him the other guy had showed after all. He was very gracious and did not complain for the last minute notice at all. He sent a follow up text a couple of weeks later and I told him all was well and his guess was correct. He apologized for annoying me, but I was actually pleased that someone would follow up.

Roger was always very punctual and followed through with what he said he was going to do. He always came with a contingency plan for any issues that came up, as they always do with remodels. His workers were fairly reliable, but Roger watched over the less experienced folks to ensure they did their jobs correctly. He was fair with any concerns that came up and was willing to give back money for work that was not necessary, as outlined in the contract. Roger did all of the tile work himself, and it was beautifully done, like a work of art. He was professional on the job, but he did carry on friendly conversation at break points. Roger always wanted to get the job done right, and in fact had to re-tile the bathroom floor to ensure the drainage angle was adequate, per the request of the frameless glass shower contractor. One negative we found was regarding the schedule. It took a total of 6 weeks to remodel the guest and master bathrooms. Roger was not working the entire time, as there were periods of time when we were waiting for materials to arrive or glue to dry. In hindsight, we should have had all materials on-sight prior to their start. The cabinets were delayed, which seemed to have delayed the project by 2 weeks. I would have hoped that Roger could have provided us with a better schedule estimate, including necessary float for waiting periods. Overall, the quality of the work was great - we will request bids from Roger again when we remodel our back patio next year.

I live in Colorado and was trying to get my house in Pearland listed with a real estate agent. I needed the whole house re-painted (on the inside) and general drywall and other minor repairs. I've had very bad luck with handymen in the past, but Roger was great. His estimate was right on the money and he never tried to add additional costs without my knowledge and consent. They were on time and his crew was courteous and professional. Roger is a perfectionist and everything was done with attention to the greatest detail. He went above and beyond the call of duty by picking up additional supplies for me at the hardware store and even threw in a couple of items for free! When my landscapers didn't show up at the last minute, Roger arranged for his crew to come back on Saturday and help with planting and trim work. My Mother had a diabetic seizure the morning they were supposed to arrive and I frantically called Roger to tell him I wouldn't be able to meet them. His crew waited until my Mother was stable and then met me at my house. I'm so grateful to them for everything, and now my Mom is okay and my house is on the real estate market. Folks--Roger is the real thing. He's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. No contractor who's professional and experienced is going to work for nothing. Roger is busy and for a reason. He's the best!

We have had Roger work on our house a couple of times. Both times he was knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. The work was great. On the first job, he repainted the ceilings for us downstairs and re-patched some old scars from Ike. He also reworked our stair railing to bring it to code. He did a great job on both. So, when a plumbing leak caused a need for another ceiling repair in a different part of the house, he took care of the whole mess for us-- No more leak, and a beautiful new ceiling.

It took him less than one day to complete the work. He lives close to where we needed the job completed. He's a little busy at times but he does a good job. I would tell members to expect good service. I would use them again in the future.

He comes and does the job very well. We have been using him for a long time.

Was contacted promptly and received quote for completing the work. Approved the work to be done and was completed within a few day, ahead of schedule. Will definately use again.

It was a good experience the first time though the second time when we need some more stuff done and he has not gotten back to me, so I called him two or three times and he said he couldn't take my call right now and will be calling back and we never heard back from him so. He does really good work. I would use them again.

As part of providing an estimate, Roger himself spent about 30 minutes looking at most of the windows to determine what the issues were. He fixed one window on the spot, even though the work didn't start until about a week later. His right-hand man, James, along with Roger's brother (name?) came and actually performed the caulking. There were 4 windows that were in especially bad shape, but they fixed them up nicely. They checked and/or caulked all 21 windows. They spent about 3-1/2 hours doing the work for the estimated cost of $300. They cleaned up the work areas well. I was pleased with the work. Roger and both his workers were very polite. I would use them again. They do all sorts of handyman-type, but they would like to do renovations.

We called Roger out to give us an estimate to replace wood in our bathroom walls that had damage from water and termites, was rotted, and completely missing. Roger was very knowledgeable and helpful in discussing it with us. We chose to go with someone else but if you want someone who knows what their doing, I would suggest calling him up.

As well as expected. To begin, Roger was professional and on time for our estimate. Upon arriving he assured me and my wife that he was a true handyman, completing odd jobs that other larger contractors may not have time. We were able to discuss the series of projects I needed to complete to sell my home, and we came to agree upon those I mentioned. We were so pleased to know that he was patient and adaptable to our requests. We were given an estimate for all time and services. A date and time were set after two emails once our schedules met. My wife and I had contacted other services but he was the only one who was willing to accomodate us. We were very pleased with his work. He purchased the attic ladder assembly. We provided the moulding. His staff was respectful to my family and home cleaned up after themselves. All work was completed inone afternoon. I would recommend Roger for work that is more than a DIY person can handle, but not enough to consider larger companies to meet.

I originally used Roger's services about a month ago when my outside gate broke suddenly and couldn't be closed. He was able to fix the gate just a few hours after we initially spoke, and also did a few other outside repairs that afternoon. I had a list of some other projects I was interested in completing; he did some research, and provided me an estimate shortly after. We scheduled the date, he confirmed in advance, he and his team members were on time and punctual, and the final cost was just as quoted in the estimate. I am very happy with the work of Roger and his team. They were professional, polite, flexible, left the area neat, and the final outcome is exactly what I was looking for.

Roger and his crew did an excellent job. They worked 4 days straight and were very courteous. Highly recommended. Will use them again.

I really liked his knowledge of the different things he could do. He gave options and seemed very knowledgeable. The quality of the quote was very good and extremely detailed. He even added a few things that he felt may be needed so I would have upfront knowledge of it. I was able to find a cheaper rate elsewhere, so didn't go with him.

They were great! I really enjoyed working with them.

Roger called right after we emailed him and came out the next day to take a look. This was on Saturday of Labor day weekend. He told us he would get back with a bid in a few days. On Wednesday, we received a phone call from Sea House Construction saying Roger had given him our number because he (Roger) was not comfortable with the job we needed done. We have not yet spoken with Sea House, but will. We do appreciate Roger contacting someone else for us, but it would have been nice if he would have contacted us himself if he was not comfortable with the scope of the job and would like to recommend Sea House to us. We did contact sea house and got a bid which we felt was in credibly high, especially since most of the work quoted was for demolition.

Although the remodeling took considerably longer- 4 wks instead of 1- than promised (due to several problems), the work was completed efficiently and professionally. I would suggest Roger and his company to anyone looking for a remodel or even a minor repair. He is currently making repairs to my fence gate; I know it will be a good job when completed.

It looked good. The only problem was that they did some painting and didn't clean up after themselves, stepped in it and walked it around the house a little bit.

Another week went by and still no job start. The next day it rained, with the following day being our regular lawn care day, which happened while I was out doing my "Honey Do" List. Now, their was no markings showing, or a work start. The following Friday, I believe Roger called telling me that he would finally start the gate job on the next Thursday at the end of the week. That broke the camel's back for me... it had been around 3 weeks. I told him nicely that I had waited too long and that I rather find someone who cared a bit more about the clients needs. It was a shame, because I was impressed by his personality and looked at other work with my wife that we would discuss with him doing on the house, a bit at a time; as I am 100% disabled and on a limited income now.

Roger and a crew of 3 guys installed laminate flooring in my living room, dining room, stairs, and study. It took them around 4 days. Roger and his crew did a good job, they came back one morning to make sure all of my concerns were addressed and the job overall was done very well. I would recommend Roger to anyone.

In the end he was charging way to much.

Roger himself is professional, knowledgeable, and reliable. But he had 4 workers, some of whom were messy and showed poor quality. He would occasionally leave them unsupervised and failed to verify that all the work was probably done and cleaned up. Examples of the problems: 1) Cigarette butts everywhere. Cigarette smell in a bathroom. 2) Workers used two bathrooms after being told to only use one. They left both filthy. 3) Mud on the carpet. Tracks,dirt, wood fragments in the house. 4) New foyer tile has what looks like a scratch. 5) Used lumber was piled behind the garage. They obviously were trying to hide it. Also left old tank in my front yard after agreeing to haul it away. (They came back the next day after I brought it to Roger's attention.) 6) In spite of discussing in advance the need for care in working around the home siding, it was damaged in multiple places. Then it took TWO requests to get it all repaired. 7) Caulked without painting over it. Roger was good to work with but, frankly, he should consider using some more professional laborers and more thoroughly supervising and inspecting the job and job site.
