PAR Construction

PAR Construction is the gold standard in my view, and I cannot recommend their services highly enough. To quickly summarize - I hired PAR construction, and you should too! PAR Construction transformed a confusing and inefficient floor layout in our 100-year-old house into a beautiful space that makes sense for our family. They completed the project on a reasonable timeline, despite a week of no electricity (thanks, Beryl), and the usual surprises that come into play when renovating an old house. We could not be more pleased with PAR Construction and highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-end renovation/construction work! Now, for more details: We hired PAR Construction to remodel our upstairs bedrooms/closets to provide a room for our three young kids. We interviewed a number of construction companies and ultimately hired PAR Construction because of their demonstrated track record of quality and communication. They delivered in every way, and then some! As soon as we put the initial deposit down, Adam and team submitted the plans for permitting approval, which can take some time. We were provided regular updates throughout the permitting process and Adam and team responded quickly to any follow-up requests from the folks at the permitting authorities. As soon as we got the all clear from permitting, Adam and his team (shout out to my guys Gabriel, Raph and Felix – miss y’all!) sprang into action and began work right away. They came and worked every weekday, and regularly on Saturdays as needed. They were kind, courteous and diligent in carrying out the project. It can certainly be awkward to have a group of seemingly random people in your house on a daily basis, but the PAR Construction team did a great job minimizing disruption and were mindful of keeping our home as orderly as possible. It got to the point that I looked forward to chatting with the team every morning before work and catching up at the end of the day. We had a great experience with each member of the PAR Construction team and I am confident in saying it doesn’t get any better than them! PAR Construction is not cheap, but the cost is excellent value for their top notch work. Like any construction project, there were some additional costs that came up as the project carried on (i.e., moving some 100 year old cast iron pipes that we didn’t know existed in order to make room for a new beam, etc.), but any potential added costs were communicated on a timely basis and we were given the option to accept or decline the updated work/cost. The original bid/scope of the project was meticulously laid out and PAR Construction stayed true to the cost of the original plans. As noted above, the perils of Hurricane Beryl tried to interrupt the progress on our home, but the PAR Construction team didn’t let that stop them. Even though we were without electricity for over a week, the team showed up every day and continued working to keep the project on schedule. In addition, we had a leak develop in a downstairs side room during the hurricane, and the PAR Construction team helped address the leak and replace/repair the components of the ceiling as needed. I am very thankful we had Adam and team to help address the issue promptly, before it turned into a bigger issue! Sure, you might find other companies that will give you cheaper bids for your project, but I am confident that PAR Construction will blow them out of the water in terms of quality of work and value for your money! Adam is an honest and genuinely kind person, and those qualities were extremely important to me in deciding to hire his team for work on our family home. My family and I are very pleased with the outcome of our project and look forward to hiring PAR Construction for additional work in the future.

We hired PAR to do a bathroom remodeling job for us and the work was very good. We noticed afterward that an area they remodeled was suffering water damage and we asked them to come out and take a look. It turned out to be an issue that was due to the house having foundation work done a while back that was finally exposed. Roger kindly negotiated a reasonable price for the work to be done and sent his guys back out to do the work. They even did a few extra things for us like sealing up an area in the adjacent bathroom free of charge. I would highly recommend them for any remodeling work that needs to be done. Very friendly and professional.

Roger Corbello the salesman is who I dealt with. I started negotiations with this company in April 2023 and put down a $29K deposit. I then asked when they could start and they stated middle of May. Once contract was signed they changed start date to June 1st but actually started June 30th. Numerus problems throughout project: constant demand for money - close up to $50k. At this point I wanted out of my contract so we set down and had a meeting. I was told that I would have to pay for all supplies, which I then did. I never received the cabinets which I paid for. They over charged and refused to give itemized invoice. After three draws at around $37K I told them that was just to much money. At the end they requested another $6K which I sent a check for. I just wanted this done with and they cashed it today.

We had PAR restore a house that flooded due to the freeze. It was EXTENSIVE. All rooms were affected. They had to replace all flooring, bathrroms and the kitchen. They had to repair and resheetrock and paint all walls. They were exceptional in their service and attention to detail. So, we hired them, again! This time they remodeled the primary bathroom in our home--new shower, cabinetry, countertops, new door openings, new tile, new paint. It's beautiful, now! You can count on Adam Grub, owner of PAR, and Roger Corbello for honesty, integrity and excellent work.

Excellent work. All of the unexpected issues were resolved. I have made recommendation to several friends to use Rogers Handyman Services, LLC (former name) for bathroom remodeling. I also was a reference to another person that talked to my wife and myself for about 45 minutes about whether to uses Rogers company for a remodeling project.

Roger and his team continued their beautiful craftsmanship on our guest bathroom. We contracted him again after his excellent job on our Master bathroom. Again, Roger’s lead crewmember worked the project from start to finish. They had great attention to detail with fantastic pride in their work. Roger’s quote was detailed and thorough. We are also impressed with his aftersales service in addressing minor touchups and detailing. Roger gave us a lot of confidence and really partnered with us to work toward what we wanted, and not just what we were asking for. We highly recommend Roger and his team.

First of all, I thought I would have to wait days for service, but they came out first thing the next day. After carefully removing the trim and evaluating the damage, the crew went out for materials before starting repairs. Not only was the jamb split but part of frame was damage as well. They removed and replaced both damaged jamb and frame without damaging sheet rock. They could not find matching trim so they cleaned up the original and reattached and carefully caulked. We Well done and fairly quick. They cleaned up well and took debris with them.

They responded promptly, arrived on time, got all jobs done. They did have to go to Home Depot for a part that I thought they should have had on hand since they knew ahead of time what the project was, and they charged me for that time, but other than that I am very happy. All jobs got done. Everything looks good. They didnt clean up the wood shavings from drilling holes, but that's not a huge deal. Would use again.

I can't say enough good things about Roger and his team. First, he does not use sub-contractors; all of his workmen are employees. This is great for his customers in several ways: 1) Roger controls the schedule, so you are not dependent on independent subs reliability--which is often an issue. Work gets done efficiently and quickly; 2) the entire team is professional, pleasant, and responsive. They know that their work reflects on Roger and the team, and it shows. I was very comfortable having them in my home. They kept an exceptionally clean work site, and managed to make room for my car in the garage every night (they staged a lot of the materials there) even though I know it created extra work for them. 3) the quality of the work was exceptional and they very quickly addressed any issues that cropped up. Roger's estimate was detailed, and very close to the final bill. I received credit for some items that cost less than expected and paid a little extra for a couple of things that cost more. I felt like the charges were fair and clear. Roger answered all of my questions quickly and fully. He was finished very quickly and when there were delays he communicated why. I was also extremely impressed at how he handled some unintentional damage to a wall. The team banged up one wall in the hallway while moving something. Roger's folks came and textured and repainted, but it looked bad. He came back and redid. And then redid it again until it looked perfect. I don't think there is any higher praise that you can give a contractor than when there is an issue it is fixed quickly and completely. I will absolutely hire Roger and his team again for future projects. I highly recommend them.

Roger's Handyman services totally remodeled my master bathroom in Feb/Mar 2016. They did a great job. I am very pleased with the outcome at the time and I still am. My house was built in 1984 and the bathroom was original; small room with tub and toilet and a vanity with one sink area that was part of the bedroom. The remodel work included installing a glass shower with a bench and two shower heads, a new vanity with two sinks, new flooring, new toilet, a wall with door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. The proposal for the work was very precise and detailed. During the remodel I requested a few changes to the proposal and revisions were made very smoothly. The cost for each update was clearly explained when I inquired. I neglected to ask about the cost of additional painting and picking up a vanity and was surprised by those costs, but that was my error. This is advice for anyone doing remodeling when adding on upgrades or any changes to the plan: Inquire about the cost; do not assume. Overall the final cost was a little high but not the highest quote I received. The saying you pay for what you get applies. My remodel was quality work. The project was run very well with clear communication of decision deadlines on design choices- tile, grout, fixtures etc. There was a small hiccup when a cold and hot water connection was reversed but this was immediately corrected with no impact. The workers were very professional and worked hard. They arrived on time and did the work scheduled. The work was done in a very timely manner over a month period. I appreciated that very much. I strongly recommend Roger's Handyman service. I would definitely hire again. I've included 3 pictures of before the remodel and 6 pictures of after the remodel.

Job went very well. Very high quality work. I thought the price was a bit high ($670) for the entire job; purchase, removal and installation. I knew this before the work started and used him because of his availability (right after Harvey) and online recommendations. Extremely satisfied with the quality of work. The 2 workers were very friendly and accommodating. They cleaned up thoroughly when they were done.And had me inspect the job to my satisfaction. When I inquired about another job, replacing a screen door, the worker, on completing the attic stairs, looked at the screen to estimate the job and said to call Roger for an firm estimate. Roger has not returned my call about replacing the screen. Other tna not returning my call, I would highly recommend Roger's.

The two handymen that came were very easy to work with. They were prompt, professional, and respectful. They worked clean, quickly, and accurately. I am grateful for their friendliness. Would use them again without hesitation & will recommend them to others.

James came and was actually a few minutes early. Upon inspecting the garbage disposal he told me that it needed to be replaced. He went and purchased on for me and put it in in no time. Unfortunately they have a two hour minimum so he was able to do somethings to my dishwasher that I had been asking my husband to fix for months just to burn some time up. I will use them again!

First off, they came early!! They called and had finished their earlier job and asked if they could come sooner (how often does that ever happen?). They got there and said they would replace the lock nut and save installing the new faucet. It was a pain of a job, which they did very well. I have already called them back for some other 'odd jobs'. This is a great resource.

Excellent. Roger came out, looked the situation over and gave me a bid of just over $4000, which was in the neighborhood of what I had expected. We agreed for him to start the next Monday. He had to postpone me an additional week as complications arose with the job he was currently on. This was ok with me as it showed he was going to stick with the job until it was done right. He arrived on the adjusted date with his two workers, Richard and Joe, and they got right to work. They were careful to lay down protective canvas over the carpet to catch debris. They checked with be before starting any activity that would be potentially disruptive (hammering, water shut-off, etc.) and showed me exactly what they were doing whenever I stuck my nose in to see how it was going. When the new parts were brought in, they double checked with me to ensure it was exactly what i wanted and that it was going where I wanted. Quite the opposite of the "just-pay-me-my-money-then-stay-out-of-my-way-and-don't-bother-me" attitude I have had the misfortune to encounter before. These guys were a perfect example of "courteous and professional". Roger also made a suggestion that would cost a little extra (a tiled shelf built into the shower wall between two studs) but was extremely practical and well worth the expense. I haven't used the shower yet, as I wanted to write this down while it was fresh in my mind and the grout sealer is not yet dry, but I expect everything will be fine. Here is another item to consider. If I had not gone ahead with the shelf installation, the job would have finished under budget due to Roger finding a less expensive shower door than what he had first quoted. I have a couple of other projects I will need to get done in the next year or so, and Roger will be who I call. I recommend him without hesitation.

Roger and his team were great! Prompt to quote and prompt to the appt. They worked hard and efficiently and the floor looks brand new again. Roger is very knowledgeable in lots of handyman jobs. Price was fair, they cleaned up. I would strongly recommend and definitely hire again!
