City Tree Service

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and they were very good. The guy was very good at getting it done without messing up the yard. They stayed longer than they needed, and I didn't have to pay them extra. They definitely know what they are doing, they didn't waste time, and they worked hard. They were very careful with the tree limbs. I plan to use them again in the future.

When they arrived, I explained what I needed done, but since there was so much growth (front yard, back and sides) everywhere, I didn't think they were going to do it all right away. Jason quoted the price, ( and no collection until job was finished), which I thought was very reasonable. He and his crew went right to work. There was so much work to be done they had to come back the next day to finish. The price sounds expensive, but I have paid more than that just to have a couple of trees removed. City Tree Service cut down at least 15 large trees, taller than roof tops and diameters of 12,16, or 18 inches, plus all of the smaller ones and a cactus that could fill the back of a pickup.

They did great work and in a timely manner

Jason and crew professionally trimmed my oak trees. These trees have not been trimmed before and were full of dead branches and ball moss. The tree canopy was raised resulting to more healthy looking trees.. The crew did an excellent clean up. The tree wounds were also painted.

I used a coupon from Angie's List and from the start I was very impressed with how quickly I was contacted to set up the service. I give this company an A+ for their professionalism and knowledge and for the work they performed. They did an excellent job and the cleanup is amazing. I definitely recommend them!

They were very responsive, but the price was a little high. I purchased the Angie's list deal of the day and it was a substantial amount even after the coupon was used. They did a great job trimming the trees though, and sealed the larger areas where they trimmed.

The tree trimmers were punctual. They reviewed what we wanted to have done and then went right to work. Limbs were lowered by rope over the deck where they were heavy enough to cause damage if allowed to fall freely. Twigs and limbs were picked up and the areas underneath were raked. We definitely will call Jason again when more tree work is needed.

They did a good job removing the trees, but it did cause some damage to our shrubs in the back yard when the branches fell. We were warned this might occur. They were very pleasant to work with. Our only criticism is that the cleanup was not complete when they left. I should have called them back but failed to do so and used our regular yard service to do so which turned out to be expensive.

Very well. The crew worked all day, following my wishes on remnants for my future use. Polite, seemed knowledgeable. Cleared out more debris than I expected. GOOD JOB!! Will definitely rehire for the next phase of removal.

They did a great job cleaning up and getting the branches down. They were fast and thorough.

Awesome, easy to schedule and work with

Excellent service; totally cleaned up branches and other debris. They even blew off my deck. Friendly staff. Explained what they were going to do and why and educated me about other tree care. Really impressive. I've booked them to come back next month to do additional work Highly recommend.

It went very well - they did a good job and in a timely manner. My only issue was after they cleaned up and left they let several branches fall on our existing plants and did some damage to them.

I used the coupon from Angie's list, but ended up paying $150 extra. Two people arrived on time and gave me an estimate, which was somewhat higher than others I had received previously. But with the coupon it ended up being about the same. They did the job but I had to ask twice to spray the tree wounds. Also Jason was telling me that they don't make money with coupons through Angie's list. As it is their choice to do it through Angie's list, I did not appreciate being told that - it's their choice, not my problem. They did a good job on the trees, but I didn't like their attitude and would not use them again.

It went very well. They were very prompt and courteous when I called for an appointment. They were very accommodating to our schedule and came on a Saturday. The day of the job they were over two hours late and we had to call them twice. They were very apologetic because they were running behind on their work schedule. Once they got to the property, they were very fast, diligent and professional. We were very satisfied with the work.

I had purchased a big deal from them for tree service. In the deal it stated that the work included would be stump removal. They never mentioned that this would not be included. I called them on Thursday to have the work done. They asked if we could do it Friday afternoon. They came out at noon but said that they would be there at 1. They had another job that they had to do. They came back around 3 or 4. They started to measure my stumps which I wanted removed. I asked why they were doing that. They said that it cost so much per inch per stump. I said that it was included in the deal details. They said that it was not and that they had called Angie's list to have that removed. I paid extra to have the work done since I needed it done that day. I was not happy about this.

They did a good job. The foreman seemed reluctant to do $400 worth of work for $100. They trimmed some dead branches from 3 small trees and removed a 12" stump. The work was completed quickly and they did good work. The office manager was very friendly and helpful, she was actually on the job and was quite helpful.

They did a great job, were very thourough and sought my approval at the start and end. Would definitely use them again.

Obtained a "Big Deal" valued at $400 for $199.00 through Angie's List. - While being advertised as service will contact me, I had to contact them for an appointment. - Jason and his wife did show up at around the original time for the estimate. - I had asked them for the above described job plus to trim one tree from the neighbor that was encroaching and had lots of dead limbs. I also asked for the largest pecan tree to be thoroughly thinned out. - Jason quoted me $500 ($300 in excess to the coupon already paid for this) to which I first agreed, not doing the math properly and we set a date and time. Once I thought over this and included what the "Big Deal" was valued at, I found this felt too steep in price and contacted them back to advise I wanted to talk to them about the work. - I called at least three times, left voicemails, and once spoke to his wife who said he would call back, never to talk to Jason again. - the night before I again left a voicemail advising to please only do as much of the job as would be covered by the "deal value" - starting with trimming away from house. On the morning of the appointment about 10 min into the appointment time set for 9am I called again, just to be advised that they were "running late due to problems with their trailer" .... if I hadn't called I would have never known! -- By noon they still had not shown up at the house, and I let the person who was there waiting go home. - I called again and asked to re-set the appointment time for the same day at 4p, and oddly for that I received a confirmation message via Angie's List (even though I was not at home to receive the message). -- By ca 630p I arrived at home and the work crew was already done, had loaded the dead branches, cleaned up, and was ready to leave. - ** Bottom Line ** : * I was obviously disappointed in the way the communication and scheduling went. I would have expected to be called back a) for the renegotiation of the work/pricing - and b) for their problem with not making the appointment, as I had someone waiting at the house for them. * I also don't like the whole thing of "Big Deal" value calculations, not just with "city tree services" but other A.List offers. - One can never tell if one gets the value worth. - In this case I certainly believe I received around $400 worth of tree trimming, but the $700 would have been too much. * Lastly I think they did a very good job on the tree trimming itself. Cuts look clean and proper. Clean-up was ok too. - Only thing I later found that my huge 20 year old 5 feet tall agave took a heavy beating. Larger branches must have fallen on the agave and completely broke several 4 inch wide "leaves", leaving them now broken, wilted, and scarred. - There is no way they didn't see that when it happened, and should have prevented plant damage from falling limbs in the first place. RATING: From the quality of work I would certainly hire them again, from the overall experience I'd be a little more hesitant, especially due to the lack of communication. - I therefore weight the quality a bit higher than service, and gave an overall B, would have preferred to give a B- !

Great service. Owner explained all services prior to start and did a 'walk-through' when job was finished. Guys worked their tails off and skipped lunch.

Another high quality job. I am a repeat customer. I could not be happier. I will continue to use city tree service for all my arborist needs.

,For the most part they did an over all nice job on most my trees, bushes and hedge. However, for my California Oak in the front yard, it was a nightmare. When the they arrived that morning , the owner asked me what kind of tree I had growing in the front yard. I told him it was a California C****-a -pin Oak. Then he asked just what did I want done? For example, would I like him to "lift" it so I could walk under the tree without bumping my head? Well, it did have one or two low branches so I agreed but also asked that the side of the tree growing towards the power lines be trimmed back. While some men worked in the front I worked in the back yard and could see the men doing a wonderful job on the Live Oak. When they had finished in the back yard I was more than pleased with the work especially on the Live Oak. At the end of the afternoon they said they were finished in the front yard and did I want to see it? I have to admit, I did not walk around to see the yard from all sides. I did notice the hedge needed a little more trimming on one end and he quickly evened it out for me. I have to admit, other than the hedge I only gave the rest of the yard a casual look.around and thought they did as nice job in the front as in the back. Later that day, when my granddaughter came home from work she came in and asked if I had seen the oak tree from the street and from the driveway? I had not, so I went to out to take a closer look. Oh my gosh, I was horrified! Instead of lifting the tree by a limb or two, at most, many limbs were removed. This tree had been one that I had been carefully growing for 14 years and, except were it was growing towards the power lines, it was not only beautiful in shape but it had been providing shade to one whole side of the yard. Now it is a tree with a dreadful shape. There are empty spaces (holes) in the foliage because MANY branches, ALL OVER the tree, have been cut off (not just one or two low growing ones.) And instead of trimming back the branches growing towards the power lines they were totally cut back to the trunk. The tree looks lopsided and down right ugly. It hurts me to look at it, so I don't. I know it was my fault for not not being more clear about what I wanted. Also, not watching them work and for not looking more carefully when the were done. My excuse, perhaps, was that the job done on the oak in the back was/is perfect. Unfortunately, it was the perfect opposite to what was done to the oak in front. I know it is too late to do anything about it and time will not help as the limbs were cut back to the trunk. When I called the man a couple of days later he said that he pruned the tree according to industry standards.

They did an excellent job. I was very happy with the service. My husband liked talking to them very much. He thought they were nice people. We would definitely use them again.

All went well and clean up was perfect. As requested left the oak limbs cut and stack for use in the fire place. Very polite and responsive team of workers.
