City Tree Service

The service from City Tree Service turned out to be not too well. I think a lot of it was miscommunication. I told them that I wanted the trees from my neighbor’s coming over to my yard to be cut and then when they came back, the manager came back he said that would cost another $500.00, the $200.00 didn't cover that. I thought that $200.00 was come and cut your trees. I told them twice, I said that the trees are already coming over the roof, he cut that from the neighbor’s yard but there are two big branches that are coming right over my patio and all I do is get their leaves constantly. And the neighbor said he didn't care as long as they would paint it if they would cut it so when I told him that's what I wanted and I had told the guys and he said, well didn't they walk it through with you and I personally just don't remember. I just lost my husband and I don't remember. I think they walked it through with me. I think he came back and said is that all there is and I said well I wanted these limbs cut, this is why I called you to begin with, the ones coming over from my neighbor’s yard and they ignored me, he didn't do anything and I told both of those young men and they didn't say anything and when the manager came, because I had told them that, that's what I wanted them to do and he said no, that would cost you $500.00 extra, he said I can do that and let you pay it out if you want to and I said no, I can't afford that, so I just let it go. I guess the price was alright but it didn't do what I wanted it to do. To me the price was $500.00 to cut your trees but then when I said they didn't do what I wanted them to do, that these were the trees that I wanted cut which I had told both of the young men, that I wanted those limbs cut and then he comes back and says, no that would be $500.00 more. Maybe we just didn't communicate, I don't know. I don't want to mess with it. The quality was fine, what they cut down, they picked up, however they did move my table and my chairs on the patio and they never moved those back again, well, I am here by myself, they could have moved it back, so I had to do that, but as far as picking up the limbs and stuff, they just did well on that. Like I said, they were supposed to come out Monday, she said they were out of town and I didn't get them until 3 or 4 days later. No, I would not use this provider again in the future. Like, I said, I just wouldn't deal with them in the future.

We needed a couple of trees cut down that had died due to drought. We also needed all the trees trimmed around the house. They worked here for 1 1/2 days and hauled off many trailer loads of brush.

They quoted a fair price, scheduled a day and time for service, and were able to complete the work within a timely manner. The workers were polite, and hard working. I believe they did a lot of work for the money and felt that I got a great deal as an Angie's list member.

They arrived late, did a good job trimming the trees, but not as good a job trimming the bushes. They charged me an additional $150 before starting. They did an excellent job of cleaning up.

,They were prompt, in fact they came a day earlier since they had time and it was convenient for me. I was satisfied with the work and they cleaned up all the branches and hauled them away. I would use them again.

Fine. They were punctual, friendly and professional. I had used them before this year and will continue to do so.

They were AWSOME. Showed up right on time. They did a forst rate job of cutting back everything that was asked. When they left, they did such a great job cleaning up all the leaves, branches, twigs and sawdust, it was like they were never there. FIRST RATE JOB!!

When the date of work was established they came in a timely manner. The tree trimming went as I had requested plus they removed dead limbs not readily seen from the ground. The crew members were cordial and professional. Some minor problems establishing a schedule were offset with their professionalism in all other areas. Their estimate was $500 so it exceeded Angie Lists $400 cost limit. However, the $500 was a reasonable estimate based on previous tree trimming done by other firms.

It was okay. Unfortunately I had a miscommunication when I initially called them and I wasn’t made aware that any extra material was for extra charge.

The yard was looking unkempt before they arrived. Now my home looks great! The crew was professional and courteous. Excellent job! They removed all limbs and debris. I will definitely call them back when I need more tree trimming. I will recommend City Tree Service to friends and neighbors, as well.

Things started badly... I purchased a $199 coupon for $400 of 'tree service,' and City Tree Service was supposed to contact me within 2 business days. They did not. I notified Angie's List that I hadn't heard from the provider and two days later they finally called me to schedule an appointment. On the day of the appointment I CALLED THEM first thing in the morning to confirm that they would be showing up at 10am as scheduled. They called me back an hour later to tell me that they couldn't start work until 1pm. They showed up at 2:45. It just so happens that I have a full time job too, so this was more than a little inconvenient for my schedule all day long. Then things got worse... They showed up to look at my yard and we walked all the trees that I wanted addressed. They then told me that it would be $2,400 for the work that I wanted done. I then asked them to tell me what it would cost to have JUST ONE tree trimmed and they said $600 - an extra $200! Based on the way this coupon was written I expected to get AT LEAST one tree trimmed for the $400 value of the coupon. There were two guys working on trimming the one tree and it only took them 4 hours to complete their work. Including removal of a crepe myrtle for which they charged me another 200 dollars. Needless to say, I feel cheated and I regret purchasing this coupon from 'Angie's list. I expected more from this vendor and from Angie's list. I never would've purchased the coupon if I had known that it wouldn't even cover the cost of a half day's work trimming a single tree. The icing on the cake... With all said and done, i'm not very happy with the work. The tree really looks butchered. They dropped a branch on the front of my house and dented a gutter - then tried to fix it by whacking it with a hammer. The 'foreman' spent almost half the time they were onsite talking on his phone while his helper dragged branches around my front yard. They also didnt bring their own drinks or means to cool down on a day when it was 102 degrees outside. Very poor workmanship. Very unprofessional.

I purchased a Angie's list deal. It was sold as $199 for $400 worth of trees services. Some history: Prior to purchasing this deal I had 3 estimates done by three separate certified Arborists who I found on Angie's list. These estimates included trimming and removing ball moss from all trees on our property as well as removing a few trees and stumps. My budget didn't allow me to hire anyone to do the whole yard at once, so I kept looking and found what looked to be a good deal on Angie's List. I purchased the deal and received a call from City Tree Service within the next day or two. Based on the previous estimates $400 worth of services should have covered 2, possibly 3 trees worth of trimming and ball moss removal. I described the trees and told the woman my expectations saying that I wanted to get the two main trees done and the third if there was enough time/money on the deal to cover the third tree. She seemed very accommodating and at no point did she indicate that my expectations exceed what they would be able to do based on the $400 value of the deal. We further discussed the potential for them to grind a tree stump as well, for an extra fee which would be decided the day of the appointment. Fast forward to July 25th, few days prior to our scheduled appointment. The woman calls and said they had a cancellation and that they would like to come out that afternoon to do my trees. After a couple of calls aback and forth I rearranged a bit of my schedule to accommodate theirs and explained that I felt a bit rushed and wasn't sure everything was going to get done. She reassured me that they would do a great job. The crew arrived on time, prior to the woman and her husband who were running about 20 minutes late. I pointed out the two main trees which we had discussed, the large cedar in the front and a Red Oak in the backyard. He immediately tells me that they wouldn't do both trees for the $199 for $400 tree service deal. He said that the $199 deal was "advertising for them and he needed to cover his costs". He said for the $199, plus another $50 he will have his crew do the Red Oak. He estimates an additional $550 dollars to remove ball moss and trim the cedar, plus $350 more to grind a large cedar stump. I was very taken aback. Based on the previous estimates, $400 should have covered at least both of those trees! Since I had already rearranged my afternoon to accommodate them and was pretty flabbergasted I agreed to the additional $50 to complete the Red Oak but turned down all other services from them. It was very awkward at that point. The husband and wife team quickly departed, leaving the crew to work The crew of guys were courteous, although they had to be reminded several times to apply pruning spray to the Red Oak where they cut branches. They also missed a few small dead branches. They say you get what you pay for and I got about $250 worth of tree services for $249. Not $400 worth $199 as advertised.

Did a great job trimming the tree while still making it look good. My wife was present when the actual work was done. When I came home after they had left the only indication I had that they had been there was the tree looked great. Their cleanup was so thorough I would never have guessed that a the tree had been trimmed an hour before.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. There were some issues getting the scheduling arranged but once they came out I was very pleased with the service. They were quick, efficient and cleaned up their mess. They did exactly what I asked them to do. I gave him my wish list of what I wanted done in my yard and he told me what I could do with the deal price so that was my cutoff.

Jason & Jeanette and their crew (Daniel, Moses, & Ty) arrived at about 2pm. Jason and I discussed what I would like done and he gave me several options in terms of cost. We agreed that his crew would remove a low-hanging limb over my driveway, a low-hanging limb over the back of the house, a third low-hanging limb in the back yard, and trim dead wood from 4 live oaks in the front yard for $550 (the $400 coupon plus $150). Jason & Jeanette left to give another estimate and the three-man crew got right to work. They were friendly, very professional and knowledgeable, and worked well together. They cleaned up as they went along and finished the job in less than 2 hours. I was impressed by the fact that the three men spoke highly about their boss even when he wasn't present. I was happy with the work City Tree Service did and will be contacting them again in the future.

I had a dead tree in my back yard that could have potentially fallen onto my back fence or the road next to it, so I called City Tree Service after I saw their Angie's List Big Deal ($199 for $400 tree service). Jason and his wife came to the house, looked at the work proposed, and gave me an estimate of $950 to cut down and remove the dead tree and stump, trim tree limbs overhanging the pool house, repair damage to bark on a live oak tree, and removal of another stump in the back yard. They showed up on the appointed day/time and quickly cut down the dead tree...one of the crew actually shinnied up the tree and cut away major branches one by one until he felled the last bit of trunk. Trimming of the branches above the pool house proved to be easier work, and the spraying of the bare tree also went quickly. Unfortunately they were unable to get either the excavator or stump grinder through my back gate, so they did not remove the second stump which was part of the original estimate (they reduced the final bill to account for this). However, they were able to gain access to the area of the dead tree via another larger gate, and after 3 hours of excavating they got the stump out of the ground, leaving a big hole which they only partially filled in (they pointed out that the size of the stump they removed accounted for the size of the whole, but I felt they could have pushed a little more of the available dirt/rocks into the whole). Overall I was pleased with the quality of their work...I would like them to a little more hole-filling though. I'd be willing to use them again for future jobs.

I purchased a coupon on Angie's List for $223 for $400 worth of yard work. I called Jeannette and scheduled an estimate with Jason. Jason is a very down to earth, honest, genuine person. He spent a lot of time with my husband and I going over what he would trim and why. We were wondering whether to cut down a Live Oak that was right between our house and a neighbor's house. It was shedding leaves over our air conditioners, and the branches were scraping our roof. Jason said he could trim it high up so it would no longer touch our house and by keeping the tree, our house would be more valuable. The estimate was for $600. We are so happy with the work that Jason and his crew did. They were all very polite. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up all the branches and leaves afterwards. Our yard looks absolutely beautiful, and we are so glad we took Jason's advice to keep the Live Oak tree!

Jason had a team of two men perform the work. They removed the hackberry tree and removed all the branches and trunk. They then trimmed all the dead branches and interior growth on the red oaks and trimmed them up to a canopy configuration. After finishing the trees, they removed all debris and cleaned up the sidewalk and street. Jason, his wife and the two men trimming the trees were extremely friendly and professional. I will definitely use them for any future tree trimming in my yard.

The crew was very good about cutting the water off quickly when they e broke a water pipe as they removed the large shrub in our front yard. They did repair the broken pipe.

I called and Jackie returned the call right away. She scheduled a time within a week for Jason Grube to come out and do the job. During the day she kept me posted on the time that I could expect them to arrive. He arrived with two other crew members and looked at my total yard. He listened to what I wanted him to do with the trees. He had excellent suggestions to offer, too. He gave me a price for the job which was very reasonable. He wanted me to review the job at the end and make sure it was exactly like I wanted it. The job was amazing. The crew worked so hard and took such pride in their work. I couldn't be more pleased with the job that City Tree Service performed on my trees. Their clean up was so thorough and they worked until it was dark to make sure everything was perfect. I will certainly use them again. In fact, I plan on having them back soon for the back yard. I used a coupon that I bought on Angie's list for 199.00 (400.00 value). They were appreciative of the business and I feel that I got more than my money's worth. The whole process was a real pleasure! Thank you City Tree Service. You will be hearing from me again!

The owner came with the crew and went over what I wanted done. I actually ended up having them do more work than I expected to do because they did such a nice job on what they had come over to do in the first place. When they were finished, they cleaned up the yard and took he limbs away!

I saw that City Tree Service was offering a Buy Now deal for $400 worth of work for $222. I called to find out if they would be able to fit me in their schedule in the next week in a half prior to purchasing the deal as I needed the work done quickly. Jeanette answered the phone when I called around 10am and said they had an opening and she thought they could fit me in that afternoon. They showed up with their crew around 2pm and gave me a very reasonable estimate, I purchased the deal and the guys began work immediately. The crew was extremely professional and polite and even though the tree they removed was close to our home and leaning over our pool - they had no issues and nothing fell into the pool. They cleaned up all the debris - there was no trace that they were there except for the missing tree, beautifully trimmed palm tree and a little saw dust. I will definitely used them again!

The tree was leaning, and looked like it was ready to fall on my neighbors new house. I'm not sure how they did it without anything falling on the house, but they did! They also cleaned up all the branches branches. The crew was extremely polite, and did a great job.

I called them right after I purchased the Angie's list coupon. We set up an appointment. They showed up on time, did their work meticulously and cleaned up my yard afterwards. They did a fantastic job. I will definitely call them back for some extra work that I need. They were very professional, from beginning to end.
