Honest and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, like a new system since mine is older. Previous repairman said I needed a whole new system. Great people, will definitely use again.

Description of Work: In the Texas summer heat, I was held hostage with no AC for 11 days by a warranty company in the East. In my new house the AC had worked for three weeks then stopped. I am an older lady with a handicap. I and my 3 pets camped out on a back porch with a cooler that would not help at all for about 6 hours of the day. Needless to say I called each day, usually crying, terribly swollen and ill. I was assured that an appropriate protocol was being followed. They sent techs from San Antonio who, in a 7 minute examination said my compressor was shot. Finally they denied my claim even though my inspection said the system was working, but with a "temperature differential." I called locally to get three bids for equipment replacement. Bosworth's, Albert's, and Underwood's had all been suggested as competent and honest companies. Underwood's was the first to respond and set up an appointment. Mr. Underwood, Lee, came to my home and in fifteen minutes determined that the problem with a "starter" part and not the compressor at all. He had it working with an old part in no time. He said that there were newer, more efficient systems available, but mine should work for another two years at least. This man was professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. He even returned later after his work day to see if it was still going (it was) and install a new part. He told me he never, ever worked with warranty companies for just this kind of situation. *More about these "villains" in another review. Of course I bought his reasonable service contract and, I hail him as my hero. Best of all, when I called the other two companies to cancel their visits and explain why, they both gave Mr. Underwood high marks for being honest and having professional integrity. The man from Bosworth's said, "There are unscrupulous people in the AC business, but Lee Underwood is not one of them." I will never use anyone else, and in two years or so, I will call Underwood's for my new system.

Description of Work: Lee Underwood Heating & A/C inspected old system to make sure it needed upgrading; he then took his time deciding what size unit would be best and also what type of unit would be most efficient. He made recommendations, drew up a schematic, and then presented all of the information including price. A confirmed date for installation was made and the crew showed up exactly at the time we were told to expect them. They also inspected and cleaned out all the duct work since this was an older home.

Description of Work: Excellent Service! Mr. Underwood himself came by and not only put a new system in my house but also cleaned my duct work. I was very impressed with his professionalism and the way that he did not mind continuously explaining to me what he was doing so I was in the loop. He was very nice and he and his team worked very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. My a/c is performing fabulously and I definately intend on using him again and again in the future.
