Description of Work: All they did was bid, they wanted $650 to replace toilet flapper (I bought one for $1.94) and stop to faucet leaks with new washers. A man my neighbors use has bid the job for $50. Katy Plumbing tried to overcharge me by $600. They wanted $650 for a $50 job. I doubt I will use Angie's List again! Katy Plumbing is dishonest and please do not use my address. Katy Plumbing is nothing but trouble! I want nothing to do with them or other dishonest, overcharging companies. When I have time I think I will report them to Houston BBB. Because I am a senior, I think Katy thought I would fall for their overcharge.

Description of Work: We had water bubbling up through the hardwoods. We turned off the water main and called them out. It was a weekend but they were there within an hour. Bad news is that the pipes run through our slab. The cheap option was to try and locate the leak and fix it. The long term and more expensive option was to basically re-plumb the house and re-route the lines so they don't go through the slab. Since we plan to be in the house for a while, we went for the more expensive option. Due to the cost, they threw in a whole house water filter, which was something i was interested in. The job took about a week. They showed up on time every day and appeared to do a good job. No more leaks, anyway! They are an established company here and do warranty the work. Again, it wasn't cheap but i feel like the quality of the work is good and that they will stand by the workmanship.

Description of Work: After getting bids from Church as well as Wedgeworth, we called Katy - seemed to have excellent recommendations/ratings with Angie's. They gave us a bid to repipe our home (BIG JOB!). We wanted copper piping, the other two companies wanted to use PEX (much easier to install). Katy Plbg. suggested we use copper and were considerably less - amazing as copper is much more expensive. Workmanship was outstanding and finished in ONE DAY vs 4-6 days for the other companies. We were dreading this job but with Katy it went smoothly and we couldn't be more pleased. They are now our "Go To" plumbers!

Description of Work: We had a loose kitchen faucet that is 14 years old and a small leak in the water supply line at the valve. The tightening bracket is not available. We chose to replace the faucet with a new model. We chose a top quality faucet and three new stainless steel water supply valves to be sure no further problems. The work took about 3 hours and was professionally executed throughout. We are very happy with the entire service and will choose Katy Pluming Company in future.

Description of Work: My sewer line was backed up and coming out of the clean out in the yard. The Katy Plumbing company had an appointment available right away and came when they said they would. They cleaned the line and even showed us with the camera the reason it was backed up. They gave recommendations for keeping the tree roots out of the line and an estimate on replacing the line, which will have to be eventually done. Overall I was very satisfied with the service.

Description of Work: when I called they gave a price of $297 for replacing a broken garbage disposal. When the man came my right drain was clogged as well. At first he said it would take 2 hours and cost over $800. Then he said 600 and it only took him about 30 minutes. He said he knocked off a $99 maintenance fee service. The service was alright but I feel he cheated and overpriced me.

Description of Work: Katy Plumbing was called after we heard some knocking noises. After the bathrooms and washing machine on one side of the house quit having hot water, we knew that the noises were from our water heater. Katy Plumbing was called. When they couldn't get by the time promised, they called to let us know they would be a little late, then later called when they were about to get to us. They promptly assessed the problem and got the part removed and replaced (they replaced a control valve that allowed the water to be heated.) They at all times were aware of keeping the surroundings clean and doing the job well.
