 + -1 moreWe called Katy Plumbing after another plumbing company (who we had called for a very simple tub drain repair) told us we had a crack in our line and it would cost $5000 to fix. (They told us this after they offered to do a free plumbing inspection while they were at our house.) We called Katy Plumbing. I told Kurt, the technician, what we were told and that we wanted a second opinion. The $49 inspection we had scheduled did not include a camera scope, but after he heard the story, he scoped it for us free of charge. He told us that there was nothing wrong with our line. There were no cracks or roots! We were totally being scammed by the other plumbing company! Kurt could have told us the same thing and gotten a job out of it and we would have been out thousands of dollars! We have finally found an HONEST plumbing company and they are reasonably priced!!! We will never use anyone else! I have already given their contact info to several friends and am going to review them on our neighborhood website. Thank you Kurt and Katy Plumbing!!

 + 0 moreI had a great experience with this business starting with the first call to the office. The ladies there are 1st class and the communication via phone and email was timely and thorough. Jason, the technician who performed the work, did a great job of installing the water heater and seeing that the hot water recirculation line was run and anchored properly. I'd definitely use these people again.
Description of Work: Installed new water heater and run new hot water recirculation line thru the attic from the bath to the water heater.

 + 0 moreMy water heater sprung a leak overnight. I didn't realize it until I noticed water coming from the garage. It was 7:00 AM and I was headed to work. I contacted Katy Plumbing not expecting to get an answer this early in the morning but hoping someone would call me back as soon as they opened. To my surprise I spoke to a woman who not only provided me with the service I needed to repair the water heater but also provided assurance that everything would be fine. A service technician was at my home within 2 hours and provided me with an estimate. When I decided to replace the water heater, another technician brought the heater and it was installed. The entire process from the time I found the leak until I had running water was under 5 hours. The job was neatly done and stress free. I have used Katy Plumbing on several occasions. While the cost is a bit higher than others, the job is always done in a professional manner and as promised. I will call Katy Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs.

 + 0 moreThis company is not worthy of being listed in angies list, they send techs that don't know what they're doing and then try to rip you off, by not doing what tech support suggested for them to do. See above.......
Description of Work: Had error code on tankless water heater, the tech seemed overwhelmed started taking apart heater and called the support line for advice on code. They told him to check the fan assembly and clean it and the heat exchanger. He pulled inspection plate of heat exchanger and took a couple deep breaths and blew into it, I asked if he gonna clean the fan assembly he said tech support told to look at heat exchanger . He put it back together having to change out screws as he put the wrong ones in the wrong holes. He told me turn the hot water back on and error code 10 appeared again. He said he needed a gas pressure reading tool that he didn't have but someone would bring him one, after 30 minutes the tool showed up and he said it would be 279.00 dollars to check the gas pressure. I asked what did tech support say to do, he said run a gas pressure test. I call tech support and they told him to check and clean fan assembly and clean heat exchanger. I asked him about that he said he would do that for 619.00 dollars. I told him we were done, and I asked what I owed him to this point, he said nothing, and left....

 + 0 moreWe set up an appointment for Monday, August 17 between 10 am and 1 pm. At about 10:30 am we were called and advised our plumber was on the way. Katy Plumbing always emails a picture of the person coming so you will know who to let into your home. Our plumber arrived, assessed the situation and fixed the leak quite quickly. In discussing the problem, he suggested reaming the drain but left this decision to us after he gave us the price. We decided to do it. He cleaned out the drain an and then cleaned up all the black residue that got into the sink. He then placed some liquid into the drain and suggested that we let it sit awhile before using to help the drain keep clear. We were very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: We had a leak and very slow-running drain in the bathroom. It had been cleaned before and the problem resurfaced. This time after fixing the leak, the plumber reamed the drain and now it runs quite well. He cleaned up the area very well before he left and placed something in the drain to help prevent it from happening again.

 + 0 moreI had a clogged up sink that was also the vent for the AC condensation. It gets clogged up from time to time, but I couldn't get it flowing again. I called on Thursday afternoon and Jason showed up on Friday morning. He tried to clear it from under the sink and when that didn't work, he went up into the attic and cleared the clog from the vent. Unfortunately, the clog moved further down the vent and ended up backing up the downstairs sink. He came straight down and started working the clog downstairs and got that cleared up in about 5 minutes. This was well beyond what I could have done with my limited tools and he also explained why I continued to experience these clogs and provided some treatment to apply on a monthly basis. Excellent experience and I would use this company again.

 + 0 moreForrest came out to install a new kitchen faucet. He was on time and did an excellent job. He reconfigured my faucet to utilize the existing holes drilled in the granite. He was very patient and answered all of my question. The new Delta faucet replaced a Moen that needed a new cartridge but was also leaking in a couple of places on the main water source and had a leak in my separate sprayer and made strange noises when the sprayer was used. All of these problems were solved with the new faucet. I have used Katy Plumbing for a couple of years and have never been disappointed or had to call them back. I recently renewed my USA membership as it saves me a nice amount of money for their services. All in all, very satisfied.

 + -1 moreService person arrived promptly during the scheduled two-hour window. He confirmed the price for the service before beginning the work. He was very professional and courteous. He wore shoe covers in my home and cleaned up the bathroom cabinet thoroughly when he was finished with the repair.
Description of Work: Recovered jewelry from drain. Since the builder of my two-year-old home had installed a one-piece, glued-in-place p-trap, this was not a do-it-yourself item; at least, not for me. The p-trap had to be cut out. Once that was done, the service person replaced the p-trap with one that can be readily removed, should it become necessary again in the future.

 + 0 morewe bid this work out between three companies, only two could make our time frame. Katy plumbing had to reschedule once on the estimate, but made up for it by being able to stay late and actually finish the job. The first company didn't want to do the repair and wanted to replace the faucet for about the same price that Katy would have., but the latter offered to just repair it since the cost to retile the shower would have been greater than the valve repair, and in these older homes you would never get the tile to match perfectly The Katy Plumbing Rep was Daniel, a very polite and respectful technician with a respect for our Lord as well. He explained the cost and honored the angies list coupon and was very frank about the costs to do some other work we had considered for the future. He had this work repaired and the water back on within an hour, I would schedule him again in a heartbeat. Company offered a one-year parts and labor warranty, vs the five the other company offered for the full replacement.

 + -1 moreThat being said, it did seem pretty expensive for the time spent, 6' piece of tubing with the appropriate attachments, but when one needs running water I guess it is to be expected. They do not itemize the bill other than listing the initial $128 fee to cut the hole and investigate and the remainder is parts and labor. The only thing I did not appreciate is their immediate attempt to sell other services while they were there. Frankly, let me see how this job holds up and I will consider their services if the need arrives in the future. They do not repair the holes made in the sheetrock but give a name and number of a person/business that "does excellent work", so that will be phase two of the project. I will update once that work is done to give an overall impression.
Description of Work: We had a leak in our kitchen and the technician and his assistant were able to cut a hole in the ceiling and identify the source, replace the pipe and check for any other problem spots within a 1.5 hour time span.

 + 0 moreOne most impressive thing Daniel Williamson ( Katy Plumbing Co's technician) did was finally made the dishwasher working. I had Sear technician came over 3 times that they cleaned the drain line between dishwasher and main drain, however the problem persisted. My tenant did not have dishwasher for the last 1 month. Daniel did a much better cleanning job that he dig in the drain line deeper and found the clog. Now dishwasher is working and he saved me $$$ for not buying a new dishwasher ( that would be wasted money) I found it is very easy to work with this company and the phone line is alwasy easy to reach and pleasent. I highly recommend them and Daniel. Yan

 + 0 moreOur water heater broke and we are selling our house, so we needed to have it replaced very quickly. Katy Plumbing was very responsive, but I felt they really overcharged us for the unit. I have a friend in the plumbing business and he told me that unit was no more than $300 and the labor and hauling away of the old unit should not have been more than $600. Even with the same day service this was not a great experience and it is doubtful I will use them or recommend them to anyone.

He explained that because of the way the home builders did the piping in our living room wall, he needed to cut out three rectangular shapes to do what he needed to do. So I just need to hire someone to fix the drywall and paint
Description of Work: On Friday night, we had an emergency plumbing problem. Water was gushing after my husband tried to turn on the water valve to put on our sprinklers. Katy Plumbing, who we've used before, offers 24 hour emergency service. I called and explained the situation. The technician showed up almost immediately and took his time to fix the problem and not put a temporary fix until the next day. He did a great job, was friendly and explained everything to us. The emergency fee was $125 but it was worth it so we could be able to use water in our home was the goal.

 + 1 moreThey set up a quick appointment to clear the drain and then followed up with very timely and prompt service to replace the main water valve and install tankless water heater. The office was friendly and prompt. The service was excellent and the work quality superior. The service man, James, was very helpful and professional. He explained everything he did. They worked in extremely hot conditions up in our attic and he and his partner worked very hard and diligently to complete the job. They removed the old water heaters and took very special precautions to avoid soiling/damaging the house flooring. They tested all their work and made sure everything worked and there were no leaks, etc. They spent time with me explaining what they did and why. The replacement parts and workmanship was quality. I would highly recommend this company to others.

 + 0 moreFaucet broke in the morning, and water wouldn't stop coming. Had to turn off water at the water heater. Called Katy Plumbing who promptly offered appointments in late morning and afternoon. They came out that afternoon. Daniel was very courteous and professional. Arrived within the timeframe promised, quickly diagnosed the problem, and offered a replacement. Replacement faucet cartridge was pricey, but I had no time to compare, and was assured Katy Plumbing was offering a reasonable price. Daniel quickly fixed the problem, and we were done. Only minor gripe was that they didn't recognize the $20 off because I found them through Angies list, but I consider this small compared to prompt service and professional execution. Daniel offered a coupon for $20 off for the next service visit. He was a very good ambassador for the company. I will use them again.

We had AC contractors coming the next day to replace AC that was leaking in attic - needed work done before AC contractors arrived. They gave a quote and started the same day (about 2:30 in the afternoon and finished about 7:00 pm.) Katy Plumbings quote was not the highest nor the least expensive - but we got exactly what we wanted and when we needed it (other plumbing contractors were trying to sell us other systems but we had already done our homework and knew exactly what we wanted - another plumbing contractors costs for the same system was more than Katy Plumbings.) Daniel and Joe were very professional, worked hard, kept the area clean, and were friendly. I highly recommend them. Will use them again and will refer Katy Plumbing to my clients and friends. As a real estate agent, I need someone I can count on and usually need work done "yesterday." Katy Plumbing will be my preferred vendor for now on. Thanks!!!
