My roof started to leak in region where chimney flashing was and then later in multiple areas. I have yet to have remedy roofing, remedy the solution. I have made numerous calls to the parent company in Katy, Texas, to individuals such as John Sirizzotti , who works at the 116011 Anderson Mill Road location. I have placed a minimum of three online requests for service on 1-9-10, 12-13-10, 10-9-12 and 4-29-13. I have probably placed 20 calls or more to Remedy Roofing since 2010 to request service. I have a copy of an email I senton 10-16-12 to john@remedyroofing.com requesting again for someone to address this issue as all other attempts have been ignored. The email indicates that I have not had anyone out to my house and I have a roof leak that is causing damage to walls, floors, and ceilings in multiple places. I made numerous calls starting around 10-9-12 as I do ever year when it rains as the problem resurfaces. I faxed from work a request on 10-22-13 to have someone please have someone repair my roof to include voice mails messages, phone calls. What followed was four to five visits. I also know last year, I took a half day off work as Remedy Roofing was supposed to come out and they never showed. So anyway, this year, when I called and told of the major issues, John said he did not want to go running around after problems that had nothing to do with a roof! He grudgingly obliged to come out when I told him that I had major roof issues. The roofers came out but indicated they did not have a ladder.. They had no idea it was going to be straight up, two story brick. They took pics on their camera phones and indicated that the damage to walls, floors, and ceilings was due to a roof leak and it would be all covered and fixed. They were even discussing whether they might get approval to replace the floors themselves and do the work. I did not hear back so needed to call Remedy and was advised by John, that the floors were not their responsibility. The roofers were supposed to come out the next day. The next day, on a Friday, but they did not and never called to indicate why. I was off the whole day. When I called and indicated no one came out to include a call to the roofer Alan and representative, John, I was rudely advised by the roofer, I should not expect a phone call when he had to drive his friend's son to the Emergency. I told Remedy Roofing, they should have a means to call clients to let them know of emergency cancellations as a courtesy. Noone even bothered to call the next day to give an explanation. I had to call and inquire once again. Given that the roofers never came back to do any repairs or get up on the roof like they said they would the next day. Next visit was with John Sirrizotti and he said that the floors were damaged by a water heater leak soley and that they don't do flashing. I asked him how he would know and he said they took pics the next day. I advised him the next day was Friday the day the roofers cancelled. He then said it was the next day, I indicated that was Saturday and I was home all day, so it could not of been that day. He then said they had been out and I asked what day, He said he did not know but he had pics of the roof. I asked if I could see the pics, seeing he was basing the water damage was not due to a leaking roof. He said they were on his computer and he would show me. He then stood in my doorway at a loss and indicated he did not have them. (?) He had them but could get them to me later. That was October 2012 and still waiting. So, given continued complaints to the company, John made the visit to my house I am speaking of and the first words he said after talking to my son ws the the chimney flashing was incorrectly installed. I indicated I was going to write down everything that was being said. I advised John that I had another roofing company come out. It was Wilson Roofing company, they indicated no defect and that my chimney needed reflashing. I was also told I was done a disservice as old parts were used vs. new ones and the vents were very battered and old needing replacement. John looked at a water mark from a toilet that had overflowed and tried to discern if that could have caused the leak, but the leak was upstairs not downstairs and on the same far wall. He tried to get information from my son as to how that water mark on the wall got there. The water mark was like twenty feet away. Then he pointed to my water heater. Yet, no one had been on the roof to truly assess. So, finally, new roofers come in after I complain and indicate I am really upset and my son has not slept in his room in forever. They call back and send a roofer who with his friend cut into the chimney flashing and repair the flashing. They reassured me that the roof would never leak again. I did not get anyone to address leaks in my room which the other roofer attributed to the vents needing replacement. John, by the way had that pointed out and looking from my yard said it could not be. (?) So now flashing fixed, It rains, my walls and floors are wet and more water marks in varied places. Mind you, the last roofers took many camera photos shots and indicated a leak and leakage in my attic they highly suspected and pointed out varied beams. Nothing has been done about that either. So last visit, I complained, and John comes out looks from ground level and states the leaks and water marks can't be from the roof. He gives no explanation. I ask if anyone has looked at the roof after the flashing repair and indicates that the roofer was out same day but I missed him as he had to leave early due to an emergency. I ask for pics he says, he took, them and he will have them out to me. I have yet to hear back. That first visit with John was not pleasant, he actually walked out because he said I had interrupted him when he tried to tell me how he was going to help me. When I stated I would really wanted to hear what he had to say,and would gladly listen to how he was going to help me, he refused to talk further and stormed out. He had been very loud and he kinda concerned my son because he was wondering why this person was so angry sounding. All I know is I have had three of their men come out and tell me major roof leaks, I have had John out twice and tell me it is not a roofing leak without ever a pic and without an explanation. I have pics if anyone wants to see and pics of how it is progressing as it rains. It is pretty obvious that when it rains there is a leak. When it doesn't rain, there is no leak. I just hope this time they sent someone else because I am tired of the deception. I can locate logs of each phone call as I have a cell phone but not all my phone calls can be traced made at work. It seems when I call from work often I hear HEllo, HEllo and I am told poor reception thus the emails at times. My landline phone at work was a better connection then my cell phone so I don't have all the calls logged. I never thought that it truly would come to this. I don't know what to do. There was a water heater that leaked this Fall but the insurance people came out and I had it replaced brand new and it was a sudden event but the floors upstairs are still wet when it rains and seem to be damp downstairs. I just hope you can help me Angie. No one has been back on the roof since the roofers fixed the flashing. Perhaps there was something shady from the start with the rebate offer to reduce the price. I don't know. All I know is they to REMEDY if they call themselves Remedy Roofing.

Response from Remedy Roofing Inc
We are sorry that this homeowner feels her issues are coming from her roof. We have been over to her house several times trying to explain to her that the leaks are not coming from her roof, but her siding. The only thing that seems to have ever been replaced on this home is the roof. The siding is rotten and has numerous holes and cut-outs where it appears other contractors have worked to repair pipes or access electrical issues. The entire home and yard has not been maintained & is in need of serious attention. I’m not going to debate this issue any further with this homeowner, but if you are the least bit worried about Remedy Roofing, please call or email us and ask for pictures of the outside of this home and you will understand exactly where we are coming from. Thank you

The insurance paid $5,000 and I paid $5,000. They did not replace gutters. I was impressed with the speed in which they got things done. I was impressed with the quality of the work as well. I did have a slight problem trying to get the final bill from them.

It's taken 2 years to try to get this resolved. They installed the roof wrong and didn't install any seals for the vents so everything leaked. They only did half of the work of what our insurance company paid. They are absolutely the worst company to work with.

They came to my door and asked to check my roof for hail damage because other homes in my neighborhood had damage. I let him check and he said there was damage. He gave me detailed instructions about what to do next with the insurance, etc. Everything went just as he said, my insurance adjuster agreed that there was damage and approved my claim. I got four other quotes on getting my roof replaced. Remedy Roofing was the best quote, most professional, most timely. While I was getting the check endorsed by my mortgage company and getting approval from my home owners association Remedy checked back regularly, but not intrusively. They were the only company that did follow up. When it was time to hire a roofing company I chose Remedy Roofing. We set the installation date. On the morning of the installation they showed up at 6:50 AM ready to go. They had a large crew, worked steadily, and finished replacing my entire roof by 2:50PM. They performed the work as quoted, cleaned thoroughly, and I was very happy. They could not have performed better from beginning to end.

Called the number on the flyer that was left on my front door to schedule an appointment. They informed me that the sales person would call within 24 hours. The next day the office called to see if I had received an call from sales to schedule the appointment, at that point I had not. Shortly thereafter, the salesman called and scheduled an appt for Saturday, 11/17/12, in the morning. He would call to confirm actual time. Saturday morning called his cell to find out what time he was coming to be told he needed to cancel as he had a death in the family and he could come on Tuesday. I said that was fine, to call me when he knew what time so I would make sure I was here. As of 10:45 am Tuesday, 11/20/12, I had not heard back from the salesman. I called the main office and they had the area manager call me back to personally come and inspect the roof. He arrived within an hour as he said he would from the phone call, and took some pictures of the roof and then showed what he saw as well as gave me his recommendation. I appreciated his honesty and not pushing to have the work done now without having the insurance company do an inspection first. While I understand things can happen, you still need to follow up with customers pro-actively versus relying on the customer to follow up. I do plan to give them the opportunity to work with the insurance company to see how that works out. I'll post another comment once the next step has been completed.

I liked them for protecting my interest, and helping dealing with the insurance adjusters. The adjuster missed some items during their inspection. I didn't have to find outside companies to deal with all the damages, they handled it all. They provided great management of the project.

Read above. It was dark when the crew left today so I don't have a clear idea yet of how well it was cleaned up.
Description of Work: Total roof replacement. Salesman failed to tell me scheduled work had to be pushed back a week. Cancelled appt. to pick up down payment check which was fine. Company headquarters tells me my Salesman, JJ Benson, should have been on site making sure work was being done properly. I never saw him again. At signing of contract, I expressed concern for my landscaping and was assured they would put up chutes to carry debris away. They did not. A Japanese maple, in particular, was badly damaged. Had I not been home to complain, I am sure the damage would have been much greater. The workers helped themselves to my wheelbarrow. My contract called for 6 hand driven nails per shingle. I observed only 4. In large areas the felt was installed at a 45 degree angle, not horizontal. When I complained, they told me they customarily follow the valley angle. The manufacturer told me the felt installation would not void my warranty but was definitely NOT correct. Then when I asked to have it at least nailed down more securely as it was windy, I got more excuses. During which time a portion did blow free of the single nail holding it. One width was extremely wavy and that was replaced. I paid for larger roof vents which were installed over the original small holes. My complaint brought the usual response: "this is how we always do it". There was NO supervision of this crew. By 7:20 PM, I was so distressed from the constant struggle to get them to do the job right and protect my plants, that I ORDERED the crew to leave. I was ignored! They left over an hour later. I also asked them repeatedly to not leave materials or debris on my neighbor's property. It may not have "hurt" anything, but if they were told not to do it for whatever reason, then they should have followed the order. By the end of the first day, I was exhausted. I did get the final price down a little which will pay for some of the shrubbery replacement. And I am assured by the substitute supervisor that my warranty is still good. That's all well and good, but I had agreed to pay for quality installation and most definitely did not get it. So much for GAF's "Master Elite" (yippee!) contractor. RUN!!!

Salesman knocked on door after bad hail storm in Katy. Signed contract with them if insurance paid for repairs. Salesman ended up being new with company. His boss had to come to the house twice as I was not satisfied with how things were going. In hindsight, I should never have signed a contract, even though they had very good references. NEVER sign a contract with these roofing companies. In the end, they installed cheaper shingles on my house than I could have received (timberline natural shadow vs timberline HD), I complained but my paperwork did not show which shingles they promised me as both have 30 yr warranties. Several neighbors had the HD installed and it looks much better. Their installers damaged three windows during the tear off of the shingles (the shingles fell against the windows and the asphalt scratched the window panes). After negotiation Remedy paid for the window damage ($800). The very last section of my roof, which was completed after the sun set, has already curled in several places. It is not leaking but it is obvious that they hurried through the end of the job and did not set the shingles correctly. They never finished all of the work that they were contractually obligated to do, but I released them from the work after they deducted the costs from the final bill. All in all, the roof does not leak, it looks satisfactory, but I would not have this company out again. I have since learned that the original salesman is no longer with the company and maybe that was the majority of the problem.

I would recommend them because they show up when they say they will, they are professional, and they came in at the price that they quoted. They worked well with the insurance company. They did the job properly and they cleaned up after they left. I didn?t have any issues with these guys; everything seemed to go smoothly. I?m not sure about the price because insurance covered it, but they seemed competitive. From what I can see the quality is good and they used good materials.

Very well; fast crew; Aaron was very responsive and available; months after they were finished I had a leak due to extraordinary conditions (a combination of wind from the northwest, heavy rain and the original builder's very poor design) and they came out and installed additional flashing and sealing; they did not try to sell me their favorite shingle but rather worked with me to get shingles shipped out from Certainteed in California

Shingle obviously blown off exposing roof deck. Service man met me in the evening, got on roof and inspected, proclaimed roof in good shape other than damaged shingle said would replace blown off shingle and surrounding shingles to effect a good repair . Came out the next day and made 'repair'. I was at work so did not witness what they did. My daughter was home and said they were only there about 30-45 mins this made me suspicious. So I started looking around the house and found 3 more spots where we had leaks. I subsequently got another roofing company to come and do a thorough inspection, they reported that the 'repair' consisted of placing another shingle (which they said did not match) for the patch. It was not 'sealed' with any roofing glue, etc. and this was the only shingle replaced, not any surrounding ones. For this shoddy work I was charged $400.00 (their minimum). Our house is a 12yr old Trendmaker (subject for another complaint).

Like many, my home was hammered by a hail storm in 2009. The insurance company issued a check and I waited patiently until the many "adjunct" or recently relocated roofers left town to pick a company. Friends recommended I contact Remedy Roofing based on their experience. Adam was out at the house the next day and after reviewing the insurance documents suspected they had underestimated the size of the roof. He used a nifty service that uses satellite images to generate an exact drawing of the roof including slopes, ridges, and dimensions. Sure enough, the insurance company was off about 20%. Adam contacted the insurance company with the new information and they quickly issued an additional payment based on the new numbers. This was a great service. Adam suggested shingles and colors using a sample pack of shingles. After some discussion, we decided to remove the three passive vents and install a single thermostat controlled attic fan to help keep the attic cooler in the Texas heat and save on electric bills. Rather than try to up-sell me, he suggested I pick it up at a local store and they'd install it. I found one with sufficient cubic airflow to match the attic volume for $80. Nice. Adam found a company to do the window beading and when the estimate came back higher, he again worked with the insurance company and a new check was at my house within days. Now for the crazy part. The day of the install, a crew of about 12 got to work early in the morning. They finished in under four hours and cleaned every scrap while doing the install. The final install looks great. Thank you again Adam.

RWe gave Remedy Roofing an A when they first did the job but are now changing our grade to a definite F due to the following information we have dealt with over the past 4 days. We are selling our home and had it inspected...the inspection stated that we have many defaults in the roof. I called Remedy and they sent out Alan Woodard who went up and checked it and said, " I don't know who the crew leader was but they shingled on top of boards that were not secured properly. He said he took over 30 pictures and could tell the crew should have taken care of the bad decking before they got started. He said that it was definitely something that John would take care of. He said, "No need to worry, we will take care of this." Well, he must be the only honest man in the entire company because John Sirizzotti, central Texas manager, came by later and stated that the decking that is warped and ruined has nothing to do with the roof and that he would not be responsible for it. The next day I had 3 different reputable companies come out and look at the roof and all of them said it was definitively a shoddy job. One roofer even said, "Let me guess...Remedy Roofing did this job?" He said that there has been so many roofs done poorly by them he can't even tell me how many times their name comes up with roofing problems. I called the owner of Remedy Roofing in Katy Texas, Doug Trailer, and he said "We take no responsibility for warped decking. I asked him if he stands by the crew putting the new shingles on top of decking that was not stable and nailed down correctly. He said "Yes, my men did nothing wrong." He said the decking has nothing to do with the roof. He rudely said that it was like me taking my car to get new tires and then after the new tires were installed the engine blows up and I go back to the tire company and say it is their fault. I said in no way did this analogy make any sense...they were a roofing company and they should have told me the boards were coming up and swayed and rotten before the crew came and put the shingles on. I said I would have been happy to pay for the boards at the time of installation. He said again that the decking job has nothing to do with their job. I said I was going to report this on Angie's List and with BBB and he said "Go Ahead. " He also said in a rude tone that his lawyer was named Robert and that his phone # was 281-391-2003. I said that I had many pictures and I was going to send them to him. He said go ahead. I asked if he would look at them and get back to me today (Friday June 17th, 2011) and he said yes. This was very important because today was the last day of our buyers option period and I needed to get this roofing situation resolved. I sent him the pictures and have heard nothing. I called him close to the end of the workday and his secretary said that he had already left and I would have to get with him on Monday. We now had to ask for an addendum to our contract due to this mess! I did get an estimate from Clear Choice roofing and this is what he said on the report. Replace 6 plywood sheets that are warped or ruined, replace felt and shingles on top of the plywood, Re-nail sheets of plywood on right side of house, replace shingles that are damaged from nails sticking through them and not sealing, re-nail ridge vent, replace all shingles that have pulled up and are not laying flat or nailed down, reseal all pipes and vents. The total for all of this is $2,875.00 and now I regret having Remedy Roofing come out and do our roof in the first place because they are not a company that stands by their workmanship. Bottom line, DO NOT USE REMEDY ROOFING- you will not be impressed with the quality of the product or professionalism. I plan to tell all my neighbors who used them to double check their work for non-secured/ warped boards under their new roof.

Response from Remedy Roofing Inc
Remedy Roofing, Inc. (“Remedy”) completed the replacement of the composition shingle roof belonging to him in December 2009. Upon completion of the replacement of the roof he personally got on top of the roof and inspected the roof Remedy Roofing had installed. He found no defects to Remedy Roofing’s workmanship or to the materials installed on the roof. As stated in the member's complaint, the members were extremely pleased with their new roof and the manner in which Remedy completed the roof. To date, they have made no reports of roof leaks to Remedy Roofing. In fact, the inspection report obtained by the members and forwarded to Remedy states under the Roof covering and Materials Section: Other than where noted, roof covering appears to be in overall sound condition and functioning as intended at time of inspection. It goes on to state under the Roof Structure & Attic section: Roof structure and attic are in overall sound condition and appear to be performing as intended at the time of the inspection. Attic was viewed from interior and approximately 75% of the attic was observed at the time of the inspection. Neither the member nor the home inspector hired by him were able to find any evidence that the roof is failing or not performing as intended. After Remedy received notice from them that the shingles appeared to be buckling, Remedy inspected the roof and found that the roof decking had been attached to the roof rafters with staples rather than nails. Attaching roof decking to the rafters with staples is not a recommended method to attach roof decking and it is not a method practiced by Remedy. However, in December 2009 Remedy found no loose decking on the their roof. Any loose roof decking would have been secured by the roofing crew. In fact, at the time their roof was replaced Remedy replaced two sheets of roof decking that appeared to bowing. Remedy replaced the two sheets of roof decking at no cost to them. Remedy found no other loose or bowed decking on their roof. Remedy has found that suggesting to a homeowner that the entire roof deck should be replaced because some of the decking is bowed, loose or attached with staples rather than nails is more often perceived by the homeowner as an attempt to gouge additional money from the homeowner for an unnecessary repair. The fact that insurance companies will not cover replacement of roof decking simply because the roof deck is improperly fastened to the roof rafters further adds to the homeowner’s perception that that the roofing contractor is simply trying to take advantage of the homeowner. Their complaint makes no assertion that the composition roof installed by Remedy has in any way failed. The pictures attached to the complaint show uneven portions of roof and small cracks in shingles, the pictures do not show shingles falling off the roof or evidence of any water leak. This complaint and pictures are made eighteen months after work on the roof was completed. The complaint and pictures are made eighteen months after he personally inspected the roof by climbing on top of the roof. Obviously the defects in the roof have arisen since he inspected the roof and happily accepted the services provided by Remedy. Remedy stands behind the workmanship and materials warranty stated in the written agreement between itself and the members and will promptly repair all failures of the materials or defects in workmanship. However, Remedy is not responsible for deflections caused by failures in the roof decking. The written agreement between Remedy and the member is very clear on this matter. The written roofing agreement provides in Paragraph VIII that Remedy is not responsible for pre-existing structural problems and deflections on the roof. The contractors currently bidding to make repairs to the roof have written roofing agreements containing the same language and would take the same position on roofs which they have replaced. It is unfortunate that other roofing contractors attempt to solicit business by slandering Remedy’s exceptional reputation rather than relying on their own performance, experience and reputation. The fact is that Remedy would not be able to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau if they provided inferior workmanship as suggested by the roofing contractors currently competing for their business. Remedy always seeks to maintain good relationships with their customers. The continued satisfaction of its customers is extremely important to the company. However, Remedy should not be expected to warranty the workmanship of the contractors who installed the roof decking. The roofing material is fastened to the roof decking, if the decking fails or bows causing deflections that appear under the shingles Remedy is not responsible, the contractor that installed the decking is responsible. Remedy will continue to honor the written roofing agreement with them, Remedy will continue to honor the warranties stated in the agreement and agreed to by the member when he signed the agreement. It is unfortunate that he now seeks to extort additional services, not found in the written agreement, from Remedy by disparaging the company with the Better Business Bureau and Angie’s List.

Remedy seemed to be the most competent contractor that we received bids from after Hurricane Ike damaged our roof in September 2009. It took me a while to get the insurance settlement straight and I wanted to get the house painted first (the painters were going to be walking on our roof, so I wanted that done beforre the new roof went on). They were professional and showed us that they carried insurance and were very willing to work with our insurance company for any additional charges. They came on schedule and were very easy to work with as far as making adjustments on the job so that we could get what we wanted. They replaced several areas where our decking needed to be repaired (other companies had a limit on what they would do for us there). As with most houses, the roof I now have is much better that the one I had when the house was new. The work seems to be very good and seemed to be done right.
Description of Work: Remedy replaced my roof, added ridge vents, replaced decking, and re-structured some of the attic ventilation.

I contacted 3 companys to quote me pricing. The first one could only do the roof and not the gutters, the second was booked out several weeks and never did call me back. Remedy did my neighbors and they were pleased plus they not only could do the gutters, they would haul away the old gutters as part of the price. I had done some investigating on the terminology as I knew very little about roofing but they tied it all together and did an excellent job of explaining upfront 1)what they would do 2)how long it would take and 3)the issues that could arise once they started: like bad decking, the strips 1x1x2 strips behind the gutters. I also was pleased with their gutter representative and his knowledge of replacing the existing gutters. After the job was complete I spoke to them about adding one more length of gutter in the front because of the downslope of the yard and they immediately scheduled it to be completed as part of the final agreement. The yard was clean when they left and their supervisor Ken was on the job almost all of the time to keep the job on schedule and kept me informed. He was always there on time, although the crews were slightly late in arriving, they still finished on time. We had one discussion about the additional cost of the furring strips which we didn't include in the original bid but it was completely resolved to my satisfaction. They sent pictures of the gutter damage to my insurance company because the Ins. Co estimate only included one length of gutter and they walked me thru the final payment coming from the insurance. I am completely happy with their work and would recommend them and use them again - although hopefully not for 10 years or more!
Description of Work: The roof was damaged from the hailstorm and much of the gutters were as well. They removed old shingles, paper and 1/2 bad sheet of decking and all the gutters/downspouts and one power vent. Replaced with new felt, shingles and furring strip that was under old gutters that had rotted. Installed ridge venting, flashing, etc. Work done in one day. Came back at another scheduled time and installed new gutters over requested areas in front & back of house and hauled away the old gutters.

They did a good job, but their clean was not good. We called them because we had a hail storm and wanted to make sure that nothing has happened to the roof. However the person whom they promised to send never showed up and they never called back to reschedule. Initially their response was good.

Brad Tolocko (512-632-4089) was the representative I worked with, and while this review is for Remedy Roofing, it's mostly a testament to his professionalism. Brad was very patient with this homeowner that asks more questions than most! He was happy to explain things to me and not pushy at all when the process took a few months while I dealt with gutters, rotted trim and siding and other things that needed to be fixed before the roof could be replaced. I was also impressed when he was forthcoming with the options that really cost him money and the ones he could cover very easily within the cost we were looking at (based on insurance claim amounts). He wanted to make a profit, but clearly wanted to give me as much as he could for the money. Right after the hail storm, I spoke with 2 or 3 other companies, and their representatives were pushing very hard to close the sale, even resorting to bad mouthing the other companies and throwing some fear and doubt into the equation with rumors about Remedy. Brad remained above all that, explaining everything but never stooping as low as the other companies. At one point, a friend at work recommended a roofing company that would "make your insurance deductible go away." What it boiled down to was getting two invoices when the job was done: one to you the homeowner, which was the actual price you would pay, and another for you to submit to the insurance company, which would be for the actual amount plus the amount of your deductible. It was tempting, but after looking into it, it sure seemed like insurance fraud to me. Brad knew exactly what they were doing, and said that sometimes he would lose business to companies like that, but that he would not play that game, because even if it was not illegal (which I think it is), it is unethical. Brad also emphasized that in order for the roofing company to absorb the deductible, they cut corners in various places. As the process proceeded, Brad showed me all the corners that had been cut on the roofs around me that were being replaced. I truly believe that I got a top quality job done, which will hopefully pay off in the long run. I highly recommend Brad Tolocko (512-632-4089) and Remedy Roofing in general, as they really make an attempt to provide a quality solution.
Description of Work: Remedy Roofing replaced the shingles on my roof after a hail storm. My existing roof was done 15 years ago and while the job was acceptable, Remedy upgraded me from 20 to 30 year shingles, used 30 pound felt, storm guard (a protective plastic) on the valleys where water could potentially seep through, metal drip edge around the perimeter to help direct water away from the trim, lead pipe jacks (they last longer than plastic), etc. The crew also hand-nailed the shingles, which has some advantages over pnuematic nailing. I didn't know that roof replacements had so much involved, but Remedy does a good job.

We found the Remedy reps walking around our street and the guy was happy to come down and look at our roof. After checking up on them with Angieslist, we met with a representative and signed a commitment to have them do the work. Be sure you want them to do the work before you sign anything, because if you read the "commitment" carefully you will find there is a financial penalty if you try to back out of the deal. Later they sent someone to come out and work with the insurance adjustor. Remedy and Allstate worked well together and made it very easy to file the claim and get the paperwork worked out. I rated price "N/A" because I have no basis for comparison. The reroofing was completed in one day which was nice; however, it seemed like they were trying to rush a bit to finish in a day, when they stopped it was very dark and I wondered how they could see. Next morning, there were still lots of nails, old shingles, metal bits, and other debris in our yard. There was also a crescent wrench and a pair of shears. Though they had made an effort to clean up, it's not surprising that they didn't get everything, because it was dark and maybe they were rushing to finish. I would have rather had them come back tomorrow, since having all the junk in our yard turned out to be a hassle. I will say that the roof looked pretty good, though, and didn't have any flaws that I could see - although I'm not a roofing expert. At this point it took quite a while to get the gutter replacement scheduled and the debris cleaned up in our yard. I was on the phone with our rep many times, and he was always very polite and helpful, but it seemed like they just had a lot of trouble scheduling - maybe because so many people were doing their roofs at this time. Eventually the gutter guys came out and replaced the gutters. They left some debris on the ground as well, but one of their (reps/owners/employees?) came out and cleaned it up after we asked. The gutter company was AT Gutters and they were very helpful and easy to work with overall. The experience overall was mostly positive but marred a bit by having to call them many times to get the gutters completed and get the stuff on the ground cleaned up - which eventually the gutter subcontractor did for them. To their credit, the roof looks good, I never felt like they were trying to take advantage of me, and they were always polite, which goes a long way.

We chose Remedy based in part over the representative's assurance that he would come to our home while the insurance adjuster was here, that he would be on the roof with the adjuster & that he would diligently represent us to get the best estimate & the most work done that our insurance coverage would allow. The rep ASSURED us that he would be here. The day before the adjuster's appointment I called the Remedy rep to remind him & to be sure that he could come. He said yes, that I should just call him as soon the adjuster appeared & that he would be at our home within 15 minutes. As soon as the adjuster got here, I called the Remedy rep, who did not answer his cell. I called their office, & the lady in the office also could not reach the rep, either by cell or page. I kept calling the rep's cell for the entire time that the adjuster was here but never got a response. The office lady was apologetic, but she had no success, either. She also said that there was nobody from their company who was available to come, either. Finally the adjuster left. The next day the Remedy rep called & left a message at our house asking me to call him, but the message offered no explanation or apology about why he never showed up as promised. We eventually chose another roofing company.

Excellent overall, roof removed and new installed in one day, Power Wash vendor came 2 days after, Guttter vendor installed gutters 3days later in one day. 1) During initial estimate: REQUEST drip edging completely around building especially if having gutters installed. Use metal air hawks. 2) Have this done before job: Remove old gutters and have carpenter replace fascia rotten wood. Paint them before have carpenter installs.
Description of Work: Removed old roof and hauled off, repair bad decking and some fascia wood, install new 30yr roof with air hawks instead of ridge vent upon request, gutters all the way around building with color matching paint and power washed porches and walk ways

They did a good job. They did not clean up as well as I would have like them to. There is still roof gravel laying around. I had to pick up a handful of nails from the deck. There are thousands of them. They ran a magnet and picked up the majority of them but I guess there were too many to get them all. I went out and scoured the area because we have a new puppy. They did a good job though. Jeff is the fellow we worked with. He was very easy to work with. He knows his ins and outs.

Excellent performance and customer service! I found the supervisor that I dealt with to be honest and very punctuational. He followed through with direct and timely communications for all of my questions. Materials were delivered on-time. Work began as scheduled and was completed on-time. Workers were focused on quality workmanship. Remedy cleaned up the site very well. The re-roof looks great, and we've received numerous compliments from the neighbors on the re-roof appearance.
Description of Work: Performed a re-roof due to hail damage. Workers had to deal with steep roof pitches. Replaced a cracked skylight. Remedy suggested (without a sales pitch) the use of only quality materials; understood and explained the need for appropriate attic ventilation and proper installation to enhance roofing performance and longevity. (I did 2 prior months of technical research, and I met with 4 other highly recommended contractors before finalizing my selection to Remedy to perform the work. I did not let Remedy know that I had this foundational knowledge before our conversations.)

It was wonderful. When I called them on Sunday after the hurricane, they called me back within three hours. He came out very quickly and did an estimate. He told me how long it would take and how much it would cost. They did the job while we were at work. We never even knew they were there. He came back over afterward to inspect the work that was done.
Description of Work: They patched a ten by ten section of roof and fixed a leak around the flashing.
