They were very good! I am on home warranty, so I don't use them anymore. On the other hand, they were prompt and very nice. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

Did the work well, felt that they were a little expensive. Man was very nice and didn't take him very long for the work to be done. Gave $50 for them to do extra work, but thought it was odd they will tell you when they can do the work after paying that $50.

The gentleman that came to my house for an estimate on replacing two 50 gallon hot water heaters was very professional and responsive. It's just another company came in a little cheaper that was just as professional.
Description of Work: MET Plumbing came out for an estimate, but ended up using another provider with Angie's List that was a little cheaper for the same service. I was looking to have two 50 gallon hot water heaters replaced.

When I found that I was unable to remove an old cartridge in a Moen Bathroom sink fixture as instructed by Moen, I called provider for estimate to remove and replace faucet cartridge and handle adaptor. "Melissa" who took my call was very friendly and courteous, but politely told me that she could not give estimates on the phone, nor was she able to give me an hourly rate. "All work by Met was priced per job", I was told. She did state that Met would provide an on-site free estimate and could have someone to my home later in the day, calling me an half hour before their arrival. When by 4:30 or so, I'd not heard from anyone, I called Met Melissa back and was informed that their man was finishing up a job and that I was their next stop, assuring me that I hadn't been forgotten. Approximately an half hour later their technician "Dave" called to tell me that he was "on the way".He showed up in approximately a half hour along with an assistant. When shown the fixture with the stuck cartridge and on which I had already removed the handle and adaptor, Dave , without so much as touching it, said the cost to fix my problem would be $225.00. Astounded, I explained that all I wanted him to do was remove the old cartridge and put the fixture back together, which he stated that he couldn't do and stuck with his story of being unable to fix it. As I have personally replaced these cartridges in the past and as they are furnished by Moen as standard replacement items, I know that they can be replaced so long as one has the proper tool with which to remove an old cartridge if it is stuck as was mine. Unfortunately, this experience left me with a very bad impression of Met's principles of operation and a lost day in having my problem properly fixed.

I noticed that every time my husband took a shower in the morning, there would be a terrible grumbling sound coming from the attic. My husband finally looked in the attic, and the sound was coming from the water heater. I've heard horror stories of water heaters leaking in the attic and flooding the house, so I immediately started looking for a plumber to come out and inspect the water heater. I had received a Best Picks publication in the mail and saw MET Plumbing as a top rated plumber in my area. I also saw they had received very favorable reviews on Angie?s List, so I gave their office a call. The receptionist was very pleasant and we set up a time for a plumber to come out. I wasn't sure if plumbers were like the cable people and would just show up whenever. But the receptionist (her name was Brandy) actually called me the next morning and gave me thirty minutes advance notice of the plumber?s arrival. The plumbers arrived exactly on time and were professionally dressed and had their names on their uniformed shirts. I?m sort of bad with names so that was helpful. My plumbers were David and Bill. They also put on cloth shoe covers which was very professional since we have marble flooring in our entryway. They inspected our water heater and determined that it was a builder-grade water heater, which was over ten years old and was due for replacement. David clearly explained the price and warranty options from his pricing book. Everything was included in the price and there were no surprises like sales tax or being charged to haul off the old water heater. They were able to immediately start the job and put down large drop cloths on our carpeting. They were very quiet while they worked and did a good job cleaning up when they were finished. David asked if there were any other plumbing issues that needed to be looked at and I did have an issue with the kitchen faucet having rather low water pressure. He took a look at the faucet and took out a part, cleaned it and put it back and wow, my faucet was fixed! He said that repair was on the house and to call if there were any other issues. A great experience, and I will definitely call MET from now on for all of my plumbing needs.

The tile grout around our toilet upstairs were cracking and the tiles immediately surrounding the toilet base lifted a bit, which made us suspect a leak. I called MET plumbing and they were prompt in scheduling the appointment. The way it works is that they come out and give you a quote, if you decide to do the work you just pay the quote. If not, they charge a $49 travel fee. The service person (Byron) came out to the house as promised in the time window (3 hr time window) and was very professional. The quote he gave us for pulling and reseating the toilet was $273 (for normal difficulty). I thought the price was too high for a pull and reseat, but since we were worried about the leak causing more damage and I didn't want to pay the travel fee and find another plumber to take a look at the problem, I bit the bullet and agreed to do the work. I was able to use a coupon from Angie's List for $10 off, bringing the total cost to $263. I have no complaints about the worksmanship - Byron worked quickly and explained to us what the issue was (small leak due to the toilet not making full contact with the wax ring, because the flange wasn't flush with the floor when we remodeled and placed tile in the bathroom a few years back). He exchanged out the old wax ring, added another ring on top to make sure that it was making contact with the toilet, and put the toilet back. It seemed a simple enough job and took less than an hour to complete. Byron cleaned up the area after he resealed the toilet base. The slightly elevated tiles and the cracked grout around the toilet however he could not fix. It wasn't that bad so we decided to just redo the grout ourselves. Overall, I think the quality of work is excellent and Byron was very professional. However the price really seemed to be on the high side. This was the first time I hired a plumber so I have no idea how much thing should cost. Afterwards just out of curiosity I called another vendor on Angie's List with a grade A rating to see what their pricing was on a toilet pull/reseat and they came back with $165 (starting price). So anyway, I would probably consider working with MET again due to the quality of service, but definitely get some comparison quotes.

I had a water problem on April 4th where water came up under 2 toilets in my house (master bath on East side of my house and guest bath on West side of my house) and my sinks were gurgling. I looked here on Angie's List for a plumber because I've had bad luck with plumbers in the past and I found Met Plumbing and they had so many good things said about them. I called that night and the owner explained it was over $100 extra if they came that night so I told him the next day would be fine. Brent showed up and I explained what was going on and all the different things that have happened with plumbers at my house. After about 20 minutes Brent rang the doorbell and I answered and he gave me an estimate, $287 to clear sewer line and 3 more separate prices. $7,640 to replace up to 20' of sewer line, $3,697 to replace up to 10' of sewer line, $7,400 for 50' of sewer line replacement reroute. I tried to get an idea of what all this meant and asked lots of questions. He said my line had 2 separations and digging and replacement was the biggest expense. He said if I did the digging and had the plumbing exposed to where he could do the repairs it would be just under $700 which I couldn't figure out because thats about $7,000 to the digging. He said since it wasn't in Houston I could do it as they don't dig. I said clean the sewer line. He told me that was the smart choice and not to worry about the separations then and that those could be fixed at a later date. I then asked him about the Angie's List discount and he got a little irked but gave me a discount. I had told the owner the night before when he asked where I heard about them. Friday night the water was coming up again and I called Met Plumbing about it and I talked to the owner and he said "oh you're the guy with the broken pipe" and at that point I asked the owner why I didn't get to see the problems on the camera and he thought I had and was going to speak to Brent and Brent would be at my house first thing in the morning. He said he'd call me before they came. About 3:00 Saturday afternoon I called again asking when they were coming and the owner said he was running a skeleton crew but they were still coming. Around 5:30 I got a call saying they were on their way. It wasn't Brent that showed, but the plumber said he was there to check things out and about 10 minutes after that the owner showed up. They ran a camera and attempted to show me the problem but I don't know what I saw. The owner was texting almost the entire time here but he said they do their own digging and that Brent was wrong. He said the system was screwed up and it needed to be fixed and to call another reputable plumbing company or 2 and I'd see that their price was fair. I just left it at that. Tuesday morning water was coming up again but was coming up out of the top of the toilets and the bath tubs were filling with water and I called Met Plumbing. The woman that answered said she'd have the owner call me. When he called I was hot and in no mood to hear him tell me they couldn't help me unless my separation was fixed and he told me Brent said that he showed me the camera in my line when he was here. I told him to bring Brent to my house and have him say that in front of me which he chuckled at and I hung up on him. I called Nick's Plumbing and after they showed I told them what was happening and they snaked from the manhole to the house and he found the clog about 2 feet past the clean out where Met Plumbing had snaked from. They said a good plumber would have known to snake out from there if there was no water running to the manhole after they snaked. He also thought I had a water leak under the slab between the clean out and the toilets that had the water coming up. I called Met Plumbing to let them know it was cleared and how Nick's thought I had a leak under the slab and I called my insurance company. I kinda expected an apology but the owner said to let him know if I wanted them to take care of it as they do that kind of work also. My insurance company sent Coastal Leak Consulting Inc to my house for tests. They performed tests on my entire plumbing system. I have a leak under the master bath toilet, roots in my line 10 feet from the front of my house under the slab and a separation where Met Plumbing said I have two separations. They will tunnel 4 feet under the back of the house to fix that leak, 10 feet under the front of the house to fix the line where roots are a problem and fix the separation for $4,060. Just about half of what Met Plumbing was going to charge but doing much more work and I have 11 pictures taken with their camera, a leak diagram, and a repair diagram. I guess the owner at Met Plumbing didn't think I'd get other bids or his price was in line, but I'm now glad the problems have been found and a reputable company will be performing the repairs because if I had used Met Plumbing I would have spent over $7,000 and still had the exact same problems. To me this is VERY SERIOUS because I'm also in the home service business and in 37 years of being in business I've never heard of such a discrepancy. Brent with Met Plumbing said after hearing all the problems I've had with plumbers were "it doesn't matter who you use as long as they know what they're doing"...good thing I finally found someone. I have all the documents from above if anybody wants to see them.

Contacted service provider, set time and date for service. They arrived on time and promptly went to work. Work performed in timely manner. Price hurt a bit, however this is a second repair from another plumber 1 year ago. You pay for what you get. This service provider also provides a 2 year warranty on their repair. Good service. My husband and I have been rehabbing our house and hadn't been able to purchase a washer/dryer yet because of all the work we were doing ($ we were spending) on the house. However, we finally purchased a set this last weekend and got it home to set everything up only to find out the hook up valves were leaking when we turned them on for the washing machine. On Monday, I called a different company who was going to charge us a $50 service fee to come out to even look at the job and they weren't even going to apply that $50 towards the work if we used them. I hung up and called MET, I spoke with the owner who was VERY nice, he said he wasn't going to charge us the fee because it was such a small job and that he could have someone out the next day. They called me to inform me of the plumber's name before he showed up (John), he showed up ON TIME and was able to quickly fix our problem. They were very reasonably priced, quick and efficient and very professional. I will definitely use these guys again if we have additional plumbing needs.

I have used MET plumbing in the past and was impressed by their high level of service so it was a no-brainer to use them when we had pipe leak in our master bathroom. They called me when John was 30 minutes away and he arrived on time. He investigated my leak and recommended that my galvanized pipe be replaced. Although his quote was fair, it was beyond what we could afford. I asked if we could replace the pipe in 2 stages (half of the house now and the other later). He agreed that this was possible. And we scheduled a day for work to begin. I had placed a temporary patch on the leaking pipe so we had some flexibility in schedule. John arrived on time on the first day and immediately started working . He took every measure to insure that water would only be off when it was necessary and even though the job took 3 days, we had running water every night. As it turned out, the job was much more difficult than he thought would be but never did he try to add any additional charges. Also at the end of every day, they cleaned up after themselves. What really blew me away was all of the extra jobs that they willingly offered beyond the re-pipe job. These included installing new faucets in my upstairs bath, new shutoff valves for my toilets, a ball valve to shut off water pressure to my outside hose bib (for freezing weather). He even went as far as to help me close off an opening on the eve of my roof where I suspect squirrels were getting into my attic. He even traded barbecue recipes with me. Now that?s service. Thanks MET and John.

I did use MET Plumbing and they were great. They were excellent. It was on February 14th. They spent approximately $800 is what we spent. What I liked was first of all they seemed to know what they were doing. Justin was the person that worked with us, very responsive, very punctual, they were very professional. One of the things that I really liked was they did not pressure me into getting additional things done. When they did the sewer line they gave me the options which would be probably more $500 if I had done the sewer line, just reamed out the sewer line, but not pressure wash it. But they gave me the option. And told me the pros and cons and didn't pressure me to go one way or the other and so I really liked that. He said I can replace the valve but it's going to be a whole lot cheaper if I rebuilt it for you and so I said okay let's rebuild it. He said he warned us that if that particular nut is corroded on there it's going to cost about $100 more because he had to cut the nut off, fix the thing, replace it and so forth, so he told me what to expect ahead of time. I always hate it when a repairman gives you a quote and then says well I found something. He was very knowledgable.

I discovered late in the afternoon that neither hot water tank control valve was working and that neither tank had hot water. I contacted MET who sent a technician out after hours to look at the situation and determine what could be done to fix the problem. The technician indicated that both control valves were refusing to work and that he could replace the complete systems. He began draining the tanks and went to get the replacement parts. He came back with one control valve along with the owner to insure that we would have hot water before the end of the night and the next morning. In discussions about the repairs and after looking at the condition of the existing tanks and parts, we decided to replace both tanks with new units and higher quality controls with a 6 year warranty for slightly more than it would cost to complete both repairs on the existing tanks with what had proven to be inferior controls. There was no pressure or sales talk and the decision was ours to make. The next day two technicians arrived on time and completed the entire job in less than half a day. They covered all floors, carpets and ensured they made no mess. They were incredibly quiet in performing the job and took the time afterwards to go over the invoice and warranty information. The next day I received a follow up call asking about the services as well as the technicians. I was very pleased with the company and would definitely use them again. P.S. in addition we had a leaking faucet in the front bath which they fixed at no additional charge for parts or labor after I simply asked where I could get the part to fix myself.

Backed up septic system: MET's response time was very, very good. The said they would be there within 3 hours and they were. They opened an access plug for the septic system and ran a camera up drain pipes to determine if there were any blockages. The guys were extremely professional and polite, taking the time to explain what they were doing and why. As it turned out there was nothing wrong with the plumbing inside the house, the septic system needed work, so the only service MET performed was diagnosis (with the camera). The $400 price tag seems outrageously high. I know the equipment isn't that expensive. They did not charge a "service call," and they spent about an hour at my house. So two plumbers at my house for an hour, coming on short notice, the $400 is, in my opinion, too high.

They did not call before arriving and did not show up with the required ladder. The Tech was able to pull some roots out of the line to clear it. As these roots are entering a broken pipe somewhere in the line, they are coming back later this week to run a camera to find out where the break is.
Description of Work: Called for a drain cleaning for two upstairs sinks that were draining slowly. As this happens about every 2 years, we knew the problem was roots in a line. We told them this and that the vent for these sinks were on the flat roof of our 2-story condo which would require a 24' ladder. They took the information and said that they would call a 1/2 hour before arrival.
