DJ's Custom Cabinets

DJ's represents craftsmanship and quality at it's highest level. The work we had done exceeded all our expectations. Don removed some of our lower cabinet doors in our kitchen and put in beautiful full extension large drawers. His painting and electrical subs are also the kind of people we all want to do business with. We've been using DJ's for all our cabinet needs for close to twenty years. They specialize in cabinets but can do anything related to remodeling.

Overall it went well. The installation was like a glove. Everything fit like a glove. It was amazing. After installation, a couple of doors had to be readjusted, but other then that nothing. Considering my house was built in 1983, I would have expected more problems with sagging ceilings, walls out of square, but there was very little of that. Good job Don

Don is a fantastic person, easy to work with, highly skilled and a great problem solver. He did a fantastic job on building new cabinets for my family room. I have hired him again to modify my living room bookcases and add doors. He has also helped with other miscellaneous projects around the house. Don provides a high quality experience.

All the cabinets turned out great! We are so pleased with the cabinets.

It took him a week longer to make the cabinets and I had to keep rescheduling other people.

Don and his men are very clean cut respectful folks and you will be very comfortable letting them in your home and not worrying about what they might be doing in the other room.

Don built new, modern cabinet door fronts to accommodate watered glass inserts, with self closing doors. We put in a granite top and tumbled stone backsplash, under-cabinet LED lights. The best part of it was the weird cabinet in the base. Don turned a large section of that into a custom built wine rack. On either side are more custom made doors, with a drawer (made by Don, with glides and self closers) over each cabinet door. To say this area went from a horror to an absolute eye popper is an understatement. Out of all the 100's of projects we have done in this house, I'd say this one gave THE most bang for its buck. (I put $1500 as the price above but I really can't remember the exact price. Whatever it was was, it was worth double.) I wouldn't hesitate to call Don for the simplest, to the most intricate projects. In fact I'm about to call him to build a custom countertop over my washer/dryer as a work space, only he doesn't know that yet.

Don is very busy but he is good. His work was worth the wait for our kitchen remodel. He always answered our text/email/call.

Don asked me the approximate measurements and gave me some price estimates. We then scheduled for him to come out and confirm the measurements, clarify what I wanted and to get a 50% deposit. The timing for completion was not exact because he has several bigger job etc and was going to do my smaller project in-between. He made this clear so I would not be upset if the date move further out. I was okay with it and in no rush for a certain date etc. If you need something done by a certain date, you need to have it pretty far out there because Don is a one man show and does a great job at a reasonable cost but it does take time. I also elected to have him paint the cabinets to match the existing and when his painter left him in a bind, he made it a priority to get another painter to complete the job. Installation was easy and I am happy with the final project. I have attached a picture as well. If you have the time and are not in a super hurry, Don does a great job and is very down to earth and honest.

On March 6, 2015, I called Don for an estimate on kitchen cabinets. I was told to call him back the week of 22nd thru 28th. I called on the 24th. He said he couldn't get to my house for an estimate until the week of March 29th thru April 4th. He said he would call back before the day ended on the 24th. I waited 3 days. On the 27th, I texted him and said I will use someone else.

A good bit of time was spent on the actual measurements, which was what I expected. A follow,up visit was needed just to insure there were no errors. A week later the cabinet was ready for installation, as promised. Because of the fit the cabinet was brought in the house in separate pieces with two workmen who spent a couple hours getting it perfectly square and installed. This was a very good job! The cabinet looks exactly as I wanted. No one would be able to tell that this cabinet wasn't installed when the house was built.

They were terrific.Cabinets are lovely! The finish and construction are great. Great cabinets! The installation went smoothly and they are great people to work with. I would definitely use them again---maybe for my kitchen ?

The craftsmanship was first class. Don was first class. An honest, hard working skilled professional. He made sure the job was done correctly and on time. He was a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend him. I felt his pricing was very competitive.

We have worked with Don on several prior projects and were quite happy with them, so we asked him to build storage cabinets in our garage. He came out to our home and we discussed our needs/wants and he knew he could help us and gave us some ideas on the spot. He took the measurements and drew up plans back at his shop. Another appointment was set with us to discuss the plans and refine/change as we wanted. We agreed to a design plan, paid half of the quoted price, and got on his build list. We knew it would be several weeks before he got to us and that was just fine as we were in no hurry. Don communicated with us periodically about the timeframes, etc., so we were all on board with that. Once we were at the top of his list, he began building our cabinets. Everything was to be built at his shop (with the exception of one cabinet which had to be built onsite) and then installed in our garage. Once it was our turn it was like clockwork. Don's wife, Becky, assisted with many of the install details. We are thrilled with our cabinets and the new look in our garage. It's all so solidly built and we have adjustable shelving which suits all our needs. The doors fit snugly to minimize dust or insects getting inside. Gorgeous! We love them! Thank you! Don is professional, reasonable, dependable, and honest. He is highly skilled in his profession and creative. Love his work. Both Don and Becky are a delight to work with and be around. We highly recommend their cabinetry services.

Don was very responsive, his bid was extremely fair and he is a delight to work with, you can tell he really wants to get it right, and did. We did a bathroom remodel, he was the only bidder who got down on the floor and looked under the sink while he bid it, and discovered I had a weird plumbing situation back there, which he recommended we change, and we did. This will probably save us some headaches down the road. The cabinets are larger than what we had because we had ample room, and they're just beautiful. I'm really pleased.

When I initially contacted Don, we set up a meeting to discuss what I needed. Don is prompt, professional, fair and honest. We gave me an estimate for the job. Since my job was small and I was in no hurry, he put me on his list to complete the job whenever he was in-between one of his many bigger jobs. This was fine with me. Once his schedule was open for me, the cabinets and trim work were all completed in a short afternoon. It looked beautiful. I was very pleased. I do plan on contacting Don again in the near future to build some garage cabinets for me. Don has done several prior jobs for us - all are excellent. I highly recommend his services. Thanks.

It was great working with Don, his created pieces that looked like the original builders. I can't stress enough his hard work and how much he pleased my wife on this build. The bedroom piece has a span of 9 ft and it is just great. My wife loves the bathroom and butlers cabinets for extra space. It was just a great pleasure to work with such a nice person and someone who know his craft.

They returned my phone call and they gave me a response from the estimate. By the way, I'd probably would not pick them because they're a little bit expensive over my budget.

Don came out quickly to give an estimate which I thought was reasonable and he was able to make arrangements to do the work at a time convenient with my schedule. On the day we scheduled the work, Don and Mike came out and finished all the projects in one day. They were very courteous and professional. Don thought of a creative way to hide theTV/DVR wires in the bookcase that they built and when matching the table leaf to my dining room table, he had to improvise the edging because the router used to make the edging on the table no longer existed. They did excellent work and made sure I was happy with everything before they left.

We bought a new house and needed a computer area in the loft. We looked at buying desks but decided to also look at getting custom built-ins. DJ Worked with us and mapped out what we wanted then quoted us all in the matter of a day. We opted to stain and seal the wood ourselves to save some money. Unless that is something you have done before, I would pay the extra and let DJ do it. The project turned out exactly like we wanted. There is even a cool hidden compartment.

I called Don and he returned my call in less than 30 minutes. He made arrangements to come out right away and give us an estimate. We received the estimate, which was reasonable, and had him begin right away. We had our cabinets in a week and a half.

We've hired Don on two prior occasions and loved the outcomes, so we hired him again for a very small job. When we called him, he came by the same day to evaluate what we wanted. We replaced our microwave and the cabinet hole needed to be trimmed to allow it to fit properly. Don told us what he could do, the timing, and the pricing, and that he would be by the next morning to get it done. He was prompt, very professional, and he was done in less than an hour. We were very pleased with the outcome. He does excellent work, his pricing is more than fair, and he is someone you can trust. We would definitely hire him again and will recommend him to others.
