Granite Countertops Rockwall Granite countertops are a popular choice for many homeowners because of their durability and elegant look. Granite is a natural stone that is quarried from mountains all over the world, so each slab is unique in color and pattern. It’s also heat- and scratch-resistant, making it a good choice for busy kitchens. And because granite is a natural stone, it adds some character to your home that you can’t get with other materials. What is the cost for granite countertops? Granite countertops’ cost depends on the quality and size of the slab. Most granite countertops are priced by the square foot. The cost can range from $25 to $200 per square foot, depending on the quality and color of the stone. Marble Countertops Marble countertops are one of a kind. They are luxurious and beautiful, making any kitchen look high-end. Marble is a natural stone that is quarried from the earth, so no two countertops are exactly alike. Each slab has its own unique markings and veining, adding character and personality to your home. Marble is also a very durable material and can withstand a lot of wear and tear. It’s heat resistant, so you can place hot pots and pans on it without any damage. And because it’s non-porous, it’s also resistant to bacteria and stains. If you’re looking for a unique and luxurious countertop that will last for years, marble is a perfect choice.

"They did a great job! My counters look wonderful!"

Owners, Monica and Wyatt Cox, with experience since 1994 in new construction and custom remodeling services. We collaborate with designer James Winters to make your remodeling project remarkable.

"Cox Construction did an impeccable job on our whole house remodel. They listened to our ideas and executed with attention to detail. Favian and his crew did a great job and were extremely polite despite the fact that we were in their way since we both work from home. We would highly recommend Cox Construction for the results, the amount of attention we received, and every member of the crew. They’re all genuinely nice and trustworthy people."

"The scheduling system is very good and professional and was on time for project but preparation for the project was not good. I requested for specific caulking material but the person came with generic one that they use for their project and the workmanship was not professional either. It was like amateur handyman and caulking in the baseboard started cracking in many places the next day but good thing is they sent the same person next day to fix it. Overall I feel they are less expensive compared to others but it lacks quality work."

"In August 2022, after hearing about DFW Improved on a home improvement radio show, we entered into two contracts with them for a roof replacement and interior water damage repair. These contracts were based on insurance-approved scopes following the 2021 ice storm. DFW Improved began the roof replacement project first. Following the replacement, the roof continued to leak due to their failure to replace the flashings. Despite corresponding work items in the insurance scope (confirmed later by the insurance adjuster's email), the DFW Improved salesperson insisted that flashing was not part of the roof. He threatened legal action if further payment was not made. Prior to this, they presented two identical model shingles as choices, which their own roof subcontractor on-site disclosed. Upon our inquiry via email, instead of addressing the issue, the salesperson accused us of defaming their company. Furthermore, they quoted $900 for a non-existent siding hole and estimated $25,000 for a bookcase, which their own designer valued at $6,000 to $7,000. While the roof leaking issue was still unresolved, DFW Improved began interior work. Instead of submitting the agreed supplement request as agreed, they skipped necessary steps to cut water-damaged drywall. To prevent wasted effort, we instructed workers to stop. The salesperson responded, stating that workers would not proceed with any work not approved by insurance. However, he emailed the insurance company claiming that the work had already been completed, causing significant confusion for us. During the halt period, we sent out numerous issues such as broken air pipes, cracked roof rafters, missing insulation, roof holes, missing felt paper, and a leaking roof. However, we received no response other than prevaricate explanations and demanding for money. We escalated to the DFW Improved upper manager who responded that they are their best team members and disregarded our request for an alternative project team. DFW Improved abandoned the projects and warranties, and initiated separation in December 2022. Both parties engaged in negotiations over separation costs. During this process, DFW Improved unexpectedly sent four individuals to our house, claiming to inspect texture work and demanding payment. Subsequently, DFW Improved placed a lien on our house, and their lawyer sent a demanding letter stating they would auction our house and (quote)“sue Vigorously” if payment was not made, despite the mediation/arbitration clause clearly outlined in the contracts. Under this pressure, we filed a claim in Tarrant County Small Claims Court, where the lien was placed. Later, their lawyer filed a motion to transfer the case to Collin County, where DFW Improved is based. We refused to comply with a demand for $5,000 and the confidentiality requirement during mediation. DFW Improved filed a new case simultaneously in the higher Tarrant County District Court, demanding a new amount of $59,845 and seeking to enforce the lien, providing no explanation for this amount. According to their co-owner's email, their accounting book calculated that we owed them a total of $1,260 (detailed below). During pre-mediation discussions, their lawyer attempted to justify their request for $8k, citing that a significant portion was allocated to attorneys' fees. We did not engage their lawyer to send us a threatening letter containing false statements about suing us without mediation. Their lawyer also declined $65 public mediator service provided by the Tarrant Small Claims Court. Additionally, they unilaterally escalated the dispute to a higher court. We have never been late with their payments. In fact, DFW Improved made a math error by crediting the blind work twice. When we brought this to their attention, DFW Improved spent extra time correcting the invoice, and their salesperson initiated an internal investigation. Any delay was certainly not caused by us. DFW Improved filed a lien attempting to collect the costs again, despite already receiving payment. We are uncertain about the extent and duration of the legal battle DFW Improved and their lawyer will continue to pursue. It has been nearly two years. We are uncertain about the extent and duration of the legal battle DFW Improved and their lawyer will continue to pursue. It has been nearly two years. Instead of assisting us with the aftermath of a natural disaster, DFW Improved attempted to extort money from us and our insurance provider. This has resulted in substantial legal fees, emotional stress, and significant delays in repairing our house, necessitating prolonged rental expenses. "Expo Home did a fantastic job from beginning to end. Maurice our sales representative came to our home and very thoughtfully walked us through everything. He helped us to make a difficult and expensive purchase decision. The contract was signed Friday evening and the work was completed by Thursday afternoon. The installers Ricardo and Omar arrived promptly on install day morning at 8am and worked quickly to do all the work by 4pm. They respected our home and kept work areas clean with tarps. Omar especially kept me informed of the progress of the project throughout the day. Ricardo as the lead installer was very skilled in performing the work and knowledgeable about all the details of the project. I would highly recommend Expo Home for your next tub to walk in shower conversion. Thanks to everyone at Expo Home team and satisfied to be member of their family."

Bathroom tile repair services FAQs

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.

Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.

The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.
