Description of Work: They were supposed to come out to service my mother's landline phone due to a cable problem. They were supposed to hook her up to a service called Voicelink while the main issue was getting resolved. My brother and I have both made numerous attempts to set up an appointment to rectify this issue for our mother. Appointments have been made and broken-no technician has showed up. I called and waited 4 HOURS on hold trying to get his resolved and get an appointment set up and when I was transferred to a supervisor, I waited 45 minutes until I got fed up and disconnected the call. It's despicable how they treat senior citizens.

Description of Work: HORRIBLE customer service, HORRIBLES techs!!! 1 year later my issues are still not resolved. Tech's NEVER show up in the window of time. The product is awful!!! Tech's never arrive prepared and never have answers other than: You don't want new DVR's anyhow because they are all refurbished and was someone else's problems. OR they don't even come prepared with DVR's. OR "the wiring was loose"....really??? VERIZON installed the wiring when we moved here last summer!!! If it was loose (which I doubt it was) that would mean the installers did a crappy job!!! Supervisor talks me out of canceling service. Assures me a tech will solve my issues this time and they will be here between 8-10. Now they are telling me they don't care what a supervisor told me a tech has until 1:00 today to arrive. WHAT BS!!! Would NEVER recommend this company for any service!!!!

I tried other providers and I could not get coverage in and around my house. Verizon was the only one which had coverage in my house. I don't know if that is the case even now.

I like it because they put everything together. I used to have another cable company years ago and they were also good. Then Verizon came up with a deal and it saved me a few hours. I took it and now I took the cable package again and saved money. They were good when they came.
Description of Work: I've had Verizon. They provide internet, phone and television. They are pretty well known all over and I had them for a number of years. I have both landline and cellular. Last time during one of those storms that we had, one of my cables came down and it was the internet and the TVs. They had to come in and put the cable back up. I have internet service, home phone service, cellular phone service and also cable. I have a number of TVs and couple of computers.

Description of Work: on friday the june 9 2011 i discovered that i was riped off 550.00 from my payroll card also on april 1 2011 verizon stole 161.00 from my card even after i changed the card number i have called this company 5 times and 6 the other times each time i was on the phone 3 hours getting the run around and getting hung up on it was the mouth before they turned off my internet services by mistake and charged me the connection fee twice double dipping me the bill was for 61.00 my mouthly bill suppost to be 30.00 all this trouble started after i gave my card info to the business office in the middle of march. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!! VERIZON SCAM!!!!! DONT EVER GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CARD NUMBER!!!!!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!! Very poorly! Verizon landline technicians did not show-up to keep their scheduled appointment (that was scheduled between the hours of 8AM to 12PM). They kept me waiting and when I called, they transferred my call around to different CSRs, Installation technicians, and supervisors. Depending on the representative you spoke to, they all had a different understanding of the services that were scheduled to be provided. Some Verizon reps were clear that a service call required an installation tech visit to do wiring, while other reps claimed that it would be only necessary to send a signal from Verizon to my residence. All the CSRs I spoke provided poor customer service, disinterest, and insensitivity that I waited all day for a technician that did not arrive. Given this experience, I would not consider giving my business to Verizon in the future.
Description of Work: A service order was requested for December 22nd, 2009. The service order requested was for Verizon to install an additional phone line which entailed wiring, to ensure the phone jacks would respond to the appropriate phone line.

I am having problems with my internet service and made an appointment for them to come out on 12/23/09. They gave me a window from 8am to 7pm. They never showed up. Most technicians call when they are on their way and I never received a call. I called several times and one lady told me they don't have a way to communicate with their technicians while they're on the road.

My experience with them has been good and I have been satisfied with them. You always run into places where you don't have a signal but when you're tied to people with other companies, it doesn't seem any better. It has been good so far. Sometimes we have their customer service executives call and try to sell me the more expensive plan. I ask them in turn if I should be taking that plan based at my usage and they are not aware of my usage. This is not a complaint. I am only sharing my experiences. I have the cheapest plan. Everything seems good but I'd like their coverage to be better. There are a lot of dead areas where there is no signal but I guess there aren't enough towers in some parts of the country.

The experience was fine. I have no problem except that I am in an area where the reception is not that great. I have to step outside on my front porch to use the cell phone.

My experience with them has been terrible. They came out and fixed the outside of the house. On a couple of occasions, I would ask them to come out one day and they didn't show up. They said they came out another day. I was having problems with the phone lines and nobody came into the house but they billed me.

I am a caretaker for my father and he had sent a money order to Verizon and the money order apparently got lost. He was then being double charged. They acknowledged that there was a problem and that the bill had been paid, but it took them about 3 months to get the problem straightened out. I also tried to get a lower package for them that was advertised. It turns out they could have had this lower rate a long time ago. They are in their 80's. I think that Verizon could have informed them of this lower rate a long time ago, rather than making me or them have to call in to check on things.

I called to setup my home phone and DSL services right after moving. They pretended that a technician has to come and do the installation. I mentioned that last time I setup those services with Verizon, nobody needed to come. They insisted on sending somebody, but they only offer Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM with no time window in the day. I ask how am I suppose to do that when I work full day - their only answer was that people do take days off for this kind of setup?

I finally decided to cancel my DSL line. They then said they would send out a representative, but I told them I still wanted to cancel it. They then told me that I had a new service contract that I would have to pay to get out of even though I've never received any of the service. I never authorized anybody to increase my service, they just did it. I told them not to send a service rep but one came anyway. I'm canceling my telephone service with them as well. They then had a marketing company call me with a ton of questions and I told them that it was unsatisfactory. I'm livid over the whole thing. It was a very frustrating experience. I was actually hung up on once because the representative's shift was over.
Description of Work: I've called them multiple times and spoke to many people to get my DSL line transferred on 9/10. It wasn't so I called and they said it would be done on 9/14. It wasn't. I called back twice that day. There is still no DSL line.

The tech support with Verizon is amazing. They even ask you how you would rate their helpfulness at the end of the conversation. Its not every day you run across a place like this that will stop everything to help you. They did and so I think they're wonderful.
Description of Work: I had a problem getting on-line. I called Verizon right away and they did a whole bunch of testing and trouble shooting until the problem was resolved. Now I do pay them monthly for the their services but I can't tell you how much right now.

First, I had to deal with a talking machine instead of a person. The recordings do everything possible to intimidate the caller into thinking it's the caller's problem and they'll have to pay a lot of money for Verizon to fix the caller's problem. I finally found a way to get to a person and she wanted to schedule a tech visit for 7/30. I said that day didn't work for me. I then got a lecture about how it was first come first serve and that other customers were ahead of me. I told her I wasn't asking for them to come sooner, I just couldn't do 7/30. It was finally set up for the afternoon of 8/1. At 3:30 on 8/1 the tech wasn't here. I called and the recording assured me that the tech was scheduled to come. At 5:30 I called, got a person who told me what I knew, they didn't show and I would have to reschedule. I went onto the web site and found that the tech was scheduled to come at 7pm on 8/2. The tech final fixed the network problem around 3 pm of 8/3.
Description of Work: There was noise and cross talk on one of two voice lines. This is the second time in ten months that this line has had network trouble. This is our main line and everyone calls us on it, so it has to work. My experience with Verizon last September when the primary line didn't work was so bad that when I had the same problem on our second line, I didn't call them to fix it. We use the second line primarily for outbound calls. I found less stressful to live without the second line than to deal with Verizon. But, when the primary line didn't work again, I had no choice but to deal with Verizon. And it was every bit as bad as I remembered it.
