Sal's Landscape & Tree Service

Job was done well. Very clean and timely. The problem I had is the two shrubs died a few months later. When I contacted him he said they do not guarantee the plants. Left with no choice I agreed to pay to replace them. To keep this simple and short, he didn't show up to do the work and didn't respond to my messages.

Sal came to give me a quote on trimming our 4 large trees and mowing our lawns. He really knew what he was talking about.. He discussed the trim plan with me, and planned to get our yard some more sun and taking weight off where necessary while still leaving our trees beautiful. It took a little longer than expected to get his crew out to us, but the final product was so impressive! It was pricey but was right around another quote I got, so I think it was validated.. It was a lot of work! We'll use and recommend them in the future.

He said that he used to go to our area but he doesn't anymore but he offered to do a tree service over there which we want to look up for a tree service. I would not use him in the future.

I called Sal's to find out when Jarod would arrive and receptionist said that he would call me back, but he didn't. I called again to reschedule and receptionist indicated that Jarod is the only one who could set an appointment; however I did not hear back from him. Very disappointing!

They arrived when they said they would and did an excellent job from start to finish. The crew is very hard-working and honest. I will definitely hire them again.

No problems at all. Both items were done as requested.

Crew of 6 arrived and finished the job in about 5 hours, clean up was great. Armondo layout the work for the men, all workers were well trained.

I called Sal's on Saturday, June 7th and left a message. I received a call back on June 11. I gave Nathan a description of what I needed done and told him I needed it done before June 23. Nathan assured me Sal's could do the work within that time frame. He and I discussed specifics of what I wanted. Nathan was knowledgeable and provided pros and cons regarding types of borders and suggested different types of rock which fit my requirements. After agreeing on the price for the job, he set up a date for the work. His crew arrived early on June 19 and went right to work. They dug out the area designated tor the bed; leveled it, put down barrier fabric, installed the metal border, poured the washed river rock into the bed, and leveled it out. They cleaned up the yard when they finished.. The crew were professional, polite, and worked hard. I would hire him again.

My experience was pretty bad. I won't use them again. He gave me an estimate of $800 and then I told him that I got another bid for $550 and he was a couple of days late and when he got here he ground a tree stump down about half an inch so when I came home I saw it and I had to get him back out here to do it properly. It took me 2 weeks to get him back out here. I spent $550.

We have a large (.53 acre) lot that was a veritable rat's nest of tree sprouts, junk grass, weeds, and some trees - called Sal's to get an estimate to clean it up and mow bi-weekly. I didn't hear back for several days, hence the B in responsiveness, BUT, when I called to see what was up, Sal himself got over to our house, and got a crew out there the SAME DAY to get it done. They cleaned out the flower beds, too, and did a great job. We were stunned when we got home. Needless to say they will be our lawn/yard care company for life.

Good workmanship, Poor customer service. Get the estimate in writing and also any modifications. The work went beautifully on the agreed day. It was a beehive of activity and Sal was there to supervise the entire project. When I brainstormed the idea of expanding the project, Sal was receptive and "Would call" with an estimate of the additional work. Prices were agreed and a date was set for the additional work to begin. This day also went well but, 7 bags of lawn cuttings were left at with me because "There was no room on the truck". Sal was not there for this work day. After a week of calls and follow-up finally one man and a small truck came to collect the debris. Still no invoice in-hand. After six weeks of text, phone calls and emails the invoice arrived and the agreed prices on the additional work were incorrect plus the mowing was left off the bill. I asked for a settlement of the agreed pricing and to add the mowing onto the bill. Instead the mowing as added to the bill w/o further discussion or explanation. I guess that was the answer to the settlement.

He took about an hour and did a good job.

Four men re-shaped our large, very odd looking Magnolia. They did a good job - looks a lot better.

They never called me back to schedule an appointment. I left two messages with them, but they never called me back.

It was very professional and he gave us a good quote.

Mike came out the same day I called to provide an estimate of work. Although I did not choose to have them complete the service, they offered a reasonable price and schedule.

We purchased a home with over an acre of land. The 44 trees on the property had not been trimmed or cleaned up in years, if ever. There was wild junk vines and weeds everywhere, in addition to huge limbs, etc., that had fallen during the snow/ice storm earlier in the year. It took Sal's crew 2 days to trim all the trees, rake up the mountain of leaves (one commercial truckload by itself), chip up all the fallen limbs and branches, in addition to taking down a couple of bad trees. They also mowed, edged and bagged the clippings. And, we requested they cut up some of the larger limbs for fire wood! Sal's crew is great to work with and they want to make sure you are happy with the job. At our previous home, the crew had helped us with planting flowers in the front beds, in addition to adding a boulder and river rock for change in texture - awesome! Also, if you need a weekly yard service - they are the crew to use! They arrived on the same day every week at the same time and worked efficiently and professionally, and always with a smile!

We had a great experience with Sal's from the moment we contacted them. The representative sent out to give us a bid was prompt in arrival. In the beginning we were only wanting to get some trees trimmed and the beds cleaned out. My husband was so impressed with the representative that he asked for a bid on planting flowers in the beds. A second representative came out for that bid. He, too, was prompt. He was able to quickly assess our needs and made practical suggestions we were delighted with. The last representative came back by once the job was complete to make sure we were satisfied with the results. No money was expected or collected until the job was finished to our satisfaction (which was done the first time around). Although upon the surface, the amount might seem high to some, for all of the work done, we do not feel like the price was unreasonable. They had a crew of at least 4 guys all day Monday and part of the day on Tuesday. At no time did I see them standing or sitting around. Those guys worked hard and did an excellent job of not only trimming and planting, but cleaning up as well. The men were courteous and very eager to please. I cannot imagine having a better experience. We moved here from Louisiana and were not sure we would be able to find a comparable landscape firm to take care of our landscape needs. However, after the work performed by Sal's in the manner performed, I must admit we discovered an excellent landscape service that makes the one in Louisiana pale by comparison.

It was good when they came in first time but I dont know why they did not come back.

It went well but I thought their prices were a little high. I also liked that they cleaned after themselves.

Work was completed and then I had a problem. He wouldn't return my calls or emails. Would not use this company again.

Work was fine, but then there was a problem after. Called twice-didn't return my called. Emailed him..no response. Seems he is fine unless you have a problem.

Firstly, I would like to state that I specified to be contacted only via email, and almost immediately my phone rang. While I appreciate the prompt service, I do not appreciate that being ignored. I am unable to answer the call, and was told that I was a very difficult person to get ahold of and was lucky to get the work done. Based on the discussions I felt like my decision increased the price of the service, and I do not appreciate that treatment. It felt like the rep was just coming up with excuses to raise the price, sort of like a tree-cutters version of needing blinker fluid. The work was decent, but I ultimately don't feel like it was worth what I paid. I was under the impression the branches would be taken all the way back, but there are a few branch stumps scattered throughout the tree. I don't think the tree looks too bad; however, I don't think it was worth the cost. Finally, I was put off by the recommendation to not use credit card. The rep felt skeezier as he was making excuses for not allowing credit cards, saying he'd have to charge me more for the service and It would be better for everyone if I cut them a check. I don't see myself using this company for the other trees on my property.

Mike from Sal's came out the same day I called for an estimate (a Saturday) and the work was done that Wednesday. He initially said Monday, but when I called Monday I was told the nobody was working that day. Tuesday rained, but they did come Wednesday as promised in the end. The crew consisted of four workers and they did an excellent job clearing out all Mike and I had discussed. He charged a fair rate and said he would not charge tax, although he would not honor the Angie's List 10% off on top of it. We still feel we paid a reasonable price for the work that was done. They worked efficiently and cleaned up the debris and hauled it away. I would call them for service again in the future and recommend this company for any landscaping needs.

Mike Hernandez met me on Saturday to quote the job. He offered a great prce and his crew started work on the next Tuesday. They went above and beyond. They cleaned everything up. I highly recommend.
