Splend. Worked with Drew Choate who was ARS technician who came out. Drew is a pro at what he does and explained each set and his strategy for getting at the blockage. Was very pleased with his attitude, his professionalism, his overall work ethic. I'm more than pleased with the service (it was Saturday afternoon) and the work done. Highly recommended.

I called ARS Rescue Rooter at 5pm for a plumbing leak under my kitchen sink. They told me that they would have a plumber at my home between 6-6:30pm. At 6:30pm, I called to see when the technician would arrive. I was told they would arrive within the hour. At 7:30pm, I called again and no one answered the phone. At 8:30pm they called me to advise that a technician was on the way. I told them at that point that I was not interested in their service and that I would contact another plumbing company. I am very disappointed that a lot of service companies give you time ranges that tie up a large part of your day and then do not even honor the time range. I will not be using ARS Rescue Rooter again.

TERRIBLE customer service - had us waiting at our home for 4 hours before technician arrived after they called twice to say on it's way. technician finally arrived - took NO measurements, provided NO literature, left no business card, just sent me a text message so I'd have his number. been 3 weeks and still received no quote. Even got a follow-up call from their central desk last week asking about setting up the initial quote visit - I declined after explaining the above issues.

We had the washing machine water back up into our shower and our toilets would start leaking water out from under them. Then it would drain slowly back out of the shower. We bought a 1/2" 50 foot auger from Home Depot and cleaned out all of the clean out valves by the kitchen, the master bath, the laundry room and the front yard. We then augered the shower, and pulled up both of the toilets and augered those lines too. The problem got a little better but it was still far from fixed. We called ARS Rescue Rooter at 5pm and talked to the dispatcher who said as long as we made the appointment before 7pm we would not be charged for overtime fees etc. And that they are a 24 hour service. So we agreed to move forward as we had all of our toilets pulled off from Augering the lines ourself first. As of 9:45 pm no one had called or arrived. So we called them back and said we thought we should move the appointment to the following morning at a reasonable time. We had to drive to a local 24 hour store to use the restroom. They said they would have someone come between 8am and Noon. Hmmmmm....... At 1045 am the next morning Michael arrived. As soon as he arrived we told him what we had done so far. He said he had 33 years of experience and would check it out himself. We said it would be $275 dollars for him to pour degreaser down the line and auger it out from the toilet we had already pulled out ourselves. He said it was very probable that it would require a camera inspection for $645 and was probably a collapsed pipe or roots in the pipes that was causing the backup. If it was roots in the pipes it would be $875. I explained to him that we didn't have any trees near the line. He said that didn't matter he had seen roots in the line when there were no trees around. (I don't know how that could happen!??!!) He also told me the brand new toilet we had put in less than 6 months before was not a full flow toilet even though I ordered it and installed it myself. (It was clear from his behavior from the beginning until the end, that he thought he could bully us into going with what he said because we were women - very annoying). We decided that we weren't comfortable enough to go forward with him until we got other estimates so we told him we were going to go ahead and get those other estimates. He told us to be careful because the other companies did not guarantee or warranty their work like he did. And that they didn't do background checks on their employees. IF they were even employees and not contractors. He was working really hard to scare us into NOT getting other estimates from other companies. He tried to scare us into using him. It was very annoying, disrespectful, and unprofessional. He had told us earlier in the visit he didn't have anything else scheduled that day. Then when we said we were going to have other estimates done he said we better have him do it while he was there because he was VERY busy and not sure he would be able to come back. So we asked him to leave and told him we would call the company back later that day to schedule an appt if we decided to go with them after doing the other estimates. Well, we happened to go to lunch between the other estimate visits and we saw him sitting there in the grocery store parking lot waiting to hear back from us. He was confident he had scared us enough to have him come back. We called his company back and said we DEFINATELY WOULD NOT be using him/them. After getting other estimates over the phone and meeting other providers we are SO GLAD we did not let this guy work at our house!

They are drafting $$ from my checking account every month. I called and scheduled a check up for today, they were scheduled to arrive from 9-1 but never did. When I called, they can't find an appointment for today OR the service agreement in their records. So, I've paid for a service EVERY MONTH that they are saying I don't have an agreement for, and I wasted a morning off work waiting for them. They say everything is listed under our address, but then say it would be listed under my name or my husbands but can't find it under either (I went through this for 30 minutes when I MADE THE APPOINTMENT last week that they now say I don't have). I would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: NOTHING!!! I have a monthly service agreement. I called them and scheduled my spring check up. They did not show up and they can't find my service agreement even though they take out $14 a month for my service agreement!!!

Because my regular plumber (husband of my best friend and godfather to my child) was out of town, I was forced to use a service. They arrived on time. The technician was extremely talkative. He shared lots of personal history and opinions. After the drain was unstopped I was informed there was a leak under my house allowing raw sewage to puddle. Another tech was called and arrived to assess the situation. I was informed it would be close to $6,000.00 for a complete repair. Naturally, we got a second opinion. Our regular plumber found the leak, confirmed there was not in fact raw sewage puddling beneath the house, replaced one seal at a joint and the issue was resolved. While I have no doubt there was indeed a leak, it was not raw sewage, as one traditionally thinks of such, nor was it necessary to completely re-plumb the majority of our home.

After having two companies come out and determine the problem, they both said I need a new air handler. I received quotes and then went to a third company, Home Depot, to see what they had to offer. They had ARS come out and give a quote. This was lower than what I had from others. I had them install a new air handler. They also noticed the outside unit was needing a new part and included that with the original quote. Very customer centric company and went above and beyond to meet my needs.

I hired another, more highly-rated drain cleaning contractor on 11/23/2013, when my kitchen sink drain became clogged. I had selected the other contractor because my own, regular plumber does not provide weekend service (see below), because they were highly rated here on AL, because they "specialize" in drain cleaning, and because they supposedly work 7 days a week. To make a very long story short, the other contractor: -- broke the pipe; -- improperly installed the replacement pipe/fittings; -- failed to properly test the repair; -- failed to respond to my follow-up calls the next day, when I reported the leaking pipes (which were NOT leaking prior to their repair). Even though my own plumber doesn't work on weekends, he did take the time & effort to return my weekend phone message. He recommended ARS Rescue Rooter. I called them on Sunday morning 11/14/2013. Norm was very courteous and helpful. A few hours later, they dispatched James. He got right to work and immediately identified the problem. He had to disassemble and reassemble the pipe sections and fittings, which had not been properly attached & secured by the original contractor. He fully tested his repairs both with running water AND with full sinks of water (both bowls) -- this had NOT been done by the original contractor. Had the 1st contractor taken the time to test his own repair (and had I known at the time to insist on doing so), the inadequate work and leak would have been immediately apparent. So, ARS Rescue Rooter bailed me out <pun intended> of a bad situation left by another contractor's shoddy work and lack of responsiveness/customer service. I wish I had contacted them first, rather than the other, inept contractor.

About 5 pm on 9/27/13 all inside and outside water quit. It took about 10 minutes to locate a gushing leak in our front yard. We called the water dept. to come and cut-off the water. After 1 1/2 hours they arrived and shut of the main water line. We called 3 plumbers who could not come out and then got ARS. They sent Curtis Jackson out, arriving about 8:30pm. He dug for at least a couple of hours trying to locate the break in the pipe. He returned Sat. morning and worked for 4 hours digging and assessing the replacement he needed. He was very professional and did a great job. He explained everything to us, and we thought the price of $892. was very fair for all the hours he put in.

Terrible. They contacted their useless service department and only came back with the total replacement option. This is while we had the replacement part on the computer screen available from the local Home Depot. We needed someone to order the correct version, and install it in the system. With almost no troubleshooting the 'technician' declared the whole system non-functional and that it would last days or less. The bearing had been going out on the blower motor for the last few months, and the noise is just getting to be to much. the blower still functions it's just loud. He had no clue as to what was really happening, he just wanted his commission.
Description of Work: They are the only HVAC contractor for Home Depot in this area. they came out to repair the blower in our HVAC system. They were unable to order a simple blower that new from Home Depot would have been less than 100.00, they only came back with a total replacement of our system for over 5 grand.
