I had a clogged main line. I had called another company the day before, they could not clear the clog (2 hours trying) and said my cast iron was collapsed and the entire system need to be replaced ($68,000). I called ARS the next day for 2nd opinion. Darryl came out (he found the cleanout the other company could not find) and had my clog fixed in under 15 minutes. It it so refreshing to find an honest person working this trade. I will defiantly recommend them to anyone I know and will be my go to for any type of Plumbing needs. Honest and very reasonably priced.

I was initially very impressed. The mainline cleanout went very well. Unfortunately, I don't have a ground level cleanout. So they had to do it from the roof for an additional cost. The technician cleared the clog but did not find anything so he recommend running cameras which he told me was included with a mainline clean out cost. But since it was Sunday, they'd need to schedule it for another day because the cameras don't run on Sunday. Since it was included, I agreed. If there was an issue, I'd rather find out sooner. Getting the cameras out proved to be a nightmare. The first time the technician showed up, it was lightly raining and he didn't want to get on the roof with it raining. Seemed fair. We rescheduled. The next time they called before saying they needed two technicians to get on the roof and the other was off work that day. Rescheduled again. Then we got some winter weather and we needed to push again. The next time I missed their call so they moved on (that one was on me). I called back and rescheduled. But they didn't show up at the next appointment time. I called and they told me they must have accidentally not put it on the calendar. Rescheduled again. And AGAIN they didn't show. Apparently they gave me the wrong date and time! FINALLY when the camera technician comes out again, he tells me that the initial technician should never have told me that it was included with my mainline clean out since I don't have ground level access. He should of told me that they'd need to install ground level access first. He also told me that if I wanted them to get on the roof to run the camera's it was going to be an additional cost. But he didn't sound very interested in doing that, even if I was willing to pay. I got the impression he was more interested in getting out of doing the job that day than anything else. I probably talked to 10 different people at this company over the course of a month and not one of them mentioned any of this prior! I will probably still need someone to come out and run cameras. And if there is an issue, I'll probably hire that person to fix the issue. But I won't be giving ARS Rescue Rooter any business. I called and left a message with the "manager" explaining this. I was told I'd get a call back but I'm not holding my breath.

Joe Luna was thorough, polite, and proactive, even though it was late in the day on New Years Eve. He had to try two different clean-outs and multiple tools to locate the clog in our complicated under-slab drain lines, but did it diligently, explaining his process the whole way through. He narrowly found and cleared the leak just in time for us to have company over, and gave the most thorough diagnosis of the cause of the leak that I've seen from a plumber (without being pushy at all). Highly recommend ARS even if they are not the cheapest, because if you get a solid tech like Joe, combined with the infrastructure and responsiveness of a big operation like ARS, it's the best of both worlds.

They put a wrong valve (not compliance with city code). Our gas values in attic were mislabeled but they didn't even try to figure out which one belongs to fireplace and worked on it with out shutting off the gas line, and charged $800. After long arguments, speaking with inspector and several phone calls they finally returned my money.

I had to get the job done by another plumbing company that did the job in less 50 minutes.
Description of Work: I bought a new washer and the old water cut offs were bad. I needed to replace them. The price they quoted me was $320.42. I told them that was too high and my regular plumber (off on the weekend) would do the job for about $150.00. He called his boss and would not go down on the price and left. My regular plumber sent a truck out Monday morning 11-21-16 and replaced the two water cut offs for $151.93. What a difference in price.

Fine I thought - One water heater failed in 2016 - I'm having replaced by a licensed plumber. My new plumber said I paid way too much for the water heater in 2010 - $1200 was my price for a 6 yr lower end State 50gal water heater. Ticks me off that these people "rip" people off when it was an American Home Shield referral.

I feel like they do good work. I have had people come out in the past where they don’t fix the problem and then they had to come back out again, I don’t have that problem with them, they are pretty good. They are good about recommending things but not because they are trying to sell it because they see it’s a need.
Description of Work: They put in our furnace and air conditioning unit in. They also came out for our water heater. We set up an account with them for them to check the furnace in the fall and the air conditioning in the summer.

This is the company that gave me the NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE every homeowner wants to avoid. ARS was responsive to an Emergency call after a prior kitchen"repair" had just pushed a clog down to my washer/dryer area HOWEVER they "overestimated" the cost of the work needed by at least 100%, according to another plumbing company which consulted for my insurance carrier. When asked to provide the tape of the camera of the line, the technician couldn't find it, then delivered it to me, but it was inaccessible on my computer and on his laptop - so they did not provide proof the work was needed. Besides that, the work took twice as long as stated and often the workers did not show-up or even call to report their absence. I was supposed to be there at times while they worked inside too, so it was an inconvenience. Additionally, I often had a workman or two sitting in their trucks in front of the house doing nothing, for hours at a time...reportedly waiting on a part. I also received at least three different estimates, only getting it down to what I already gave them as a downpayment when I had the plumber for the insurance company confront the primary plumber for ARS in my home. SO AWKWARD, but I'm glad it happened because ARS revised the bill down by $5,000. ARS said that the estimate was for the worst case scenario and they meant to revise it down already.
Description of Work: Kitchen sink backed up, ARS installed Cable & Washer, a trap arm set-up performed inspection for $250. Problem recurred with back-up in laundry room, damaging floor and walls. Called ARS again, they estimated over $12,000 after using a camera which they said showed the sewer line that was holding water under our driveway area; they needed to make an access pit with 10' tunnel, install beam access and a 35' sewer reroute and get a new laundry box with valves. They thought they could do the job in less than a week.

Terrible. ARS Rescue Rooter was supposed to provide a Cooling System Tune-Up. However, provider did not conduct any maintenance or tune-up. The tech person (Anthony) was unprofessional and immediately was attempting to sell the Home Service Plan which was a monthly plan. The following occurred: -The AC unit worked good before he arrived and started to change parts around. -Never cleaned the outdoor unit and was on his way out of the door when I reminded him to do it. -The tech person was adamant that I needed to changed everything he mentioned before the next day or there was going to be havoc, summer heat was coming. He made a point to state that he was documenting on the form as proof. I contacted ARS Rescue Rooter corporate HQ and informed them of the situation. They sent another tech person (Jim) the following day and he would independently review the situation. When he arrived, my wife was home. I asked my wife to pass the phone to me so I may speak to Jim. He immediately stated it was a "cut and dry" situation. Jim stated he talked to Anthony and "reviewed his notes" and it was pretty cut and dry, again. I asked Jim why he didn't independently review the system to make a determination on his own. He was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. He became erratic and hung up the phone. At which point I told my wife to not let him back into the house as he became threatening. She locked the door and did not let him back in. I then called ARS Rescue Rooter corporate HQ and informed "Janet," a supervisor of the aforementioned situation. Janet stated she would try to make things right. Nothing has happened yet. The company should not have sent Jim to my house if they wanted to correct the problem.

Went great. As the only plumbing company I could find on a Sunday, plus Mothers Day, I expected to be gouged. I wasn't however, and had great service, reasonable prices, and would totally use them again. The only negative would be the amount of times they try to get your feedback. I got a call immediately after making sure it was all good, which is cool. Then I get a phone call the next day from some automated system asking me about the service, and multiple emails. But overall a great company.

It was spotty. When they do good, and when they send somebody who is not up to the mark, the job is not done. The guy that they sent twice to us didn't have a clue as to what he was doing so we just stopped using them. It was a shoddy piece of work and it was not done as well as I would have done, and it was not up to my standards. They have done some very good job for us, but the last guy did some very shoddy job for us. They didn't do the job as per the standards that I wanted. If they had done it right, the price would have been okay. When he cleaned out the kitchen faucet system, and had to do with the water heater and all that, all of a suddent, crap was clogging up the sprayer from the kitchen sink because of inadequate clearance of the pipes after the work was done. They had to come back out and fix that.
Description of Work: One of the jobs was a half a done job on some shower faucets, and the other job was on the kitchen faucet that we replaced since.

I had a leak in my water heater in the attic. A technician came out this morning and told me that both water heaters needed replacement. The technician called his dispatch department and ordered two water heaters to be installed later that day between 1-5pm. Another technician arrived around 4pm to install the water heaters. Only problem is: the installer did not have water heaters on his truck and so could not perform any work. He could only give me an estimate of what the cost would be and when he could return to do the installation. I went three days without a water heater! The problem with this company is that one department is not talking to the other department and so the customer gets only misinformation. I have since found another plumbing company to do the work. I frankly do not have a lot of trust in ARS and I will NOT use them in the future.

So thankful they were able to squeeze us in on New Year's Eve - master bathroom problems were not something we needed that day! Even though the plumber arrived later than promised, again, they fit us in "same day" unlike the other companies we had called. When the technician was satisfied that the "paper clog" had dissipated without necessary intervention on his part - he didn't even charge a service call fee. We were shocked and grateful!

We noticed a very severe leak in water supply line yesterday afternoon (forcing me to shut off the water to prevent further damage, flooding and an astronomical water bill). I called ARS Rescue Rooter because they claimed to be a 24/7 plumbing service. I spoke with Gabriel who said they could send someone out between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. At 6:00 pm I received a call from Michael, saying they were running a little late but they could have a technician out in the next two hours. However, they preferred doing outdoor work in the daylight, and Michael asked if I was okay rescheduling the technician for "first thing tomorrow morning". When I asked what "first thing" meant, Michael said probably around 9:00 am. We had made provisions so we could go without running water for the night so I agreed to push our appointment out to the next day. No one from ARS Rescue Rooter showed up at my house. At 10:00 am I called to inquire about the service and was told by Arthur that a technician was scheduled to be at our house from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. I explained that Michael told me he'd make our case a priority and we would get a technician to the house "first thing in the morning". All Arthur did was repeat that it was still within the time window and the technician should be at the house between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. At noon Arthur called to tell me their technician was running a "a bit" behind. When I asked him what that meant, he told me to expect him within the next hour to hour-and-a-half. At 2:15 pm no one had arrived, so I called to check the status. Again, I was told a plumber would be at the house within the next hour to hour and a half. When I pressed Arthur for details he finally confessed that they were short staffed and were still waiting to "hear back from the specialist". Immediately after that, I called another plumber who arrived an hour later and finished the job. My last call to ARS Rescue Rooter was at 4:30 pm to cancel the service call. How is a 24/7 Plumbing Company "short staffed"? If they weren't able to do the job within the time frame I requested they should have just said so. They also need to develop some better customer service. While Gabriel, Michael and Arthur weren't necessarily rude, they weren't exactly helpful either. Arthur did seem genuinely apologetic, but all he did was repeat that someone would be out there within two hours. At the time, I didn't get the chance do my typical research. But judging from the other reviews, this type of thing happens a lot with ARS Rescue Rooter. I wonder how much business they lose to other plumbers this way... You may as well call someone else since you will most probably end up doing that anyway if you call ARS Rescue Rooter.
Description of Work: Called to repair a leaky water supply line. They gave me a constant run around, promising a time window and continuously pushing it back. After the third time and twenty-four hours later, I called another plumber and cancelled the service call with ARS Rescue Rooter. Save yourself the headache and call someone else. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

One of my tenant called and told me that the shower tub drain had water coming up slowly. I looked up on the internet and found this company advertised $88 for drain cleaning. So I called and told them that I need drain cleaning for $88. I was told that they will be there before 11:00pm. I said ok. About 20 minutes later they called back and said that there was going to be a late hour charge of $119 on top of $88 since I called at 6:40pm and cut off time would be 6:30pm. If I could wait until next morning it was going to be $88. I said ok and we agreed next morning between 8am-12:00. When their tech finally got their the second day at about 2:00pm, he was worried about the payment since it was going to be $300, at least $240. He was not going to do it for $88. I called the company and they said they would call their tech and got back to me. They NEVER DID. So I went there in the evening and found that it was the drain of one sink got clogged and the AC water kept on filling the sink. This would be the simplest draining cleaning job you can ever find and this company did not bother to do it.

They arrived at the expected time. Two technicians checked problem and went to clean out and set up machine and had drain cleared in about 45 minutes or less. They knew exactly what clean to use. The wee e very professional and very experienced. After they finished the said another technician would be by and check the drain by using a camera. This technician showed me what the camera was seeing and explained everything in detail. I feel this company operates in a very professional manner and hire very professional technicians. The price was very reasonable. I will use them again if needed, and I have already recommended them to a neighbor.

Follow up appointment was execellent.
Description of Work: Scheduled routine maintenance and a cost estimate to install a new HVAC system. Appointment was set between 9:00am-1:00pm. never showed up an never received a call. Called customer service at 1:30 and was told they would be out to the house at 3:00. I told them I would be taking my business elsewhere. 30 minutes later I received a call from the quality assurance manager with an apology. Schedule a AC tune up the following day free of charge. Forgive and forget especially when a business is willing to go the extra mile to make things right.
