I do mobile repairs and the cost of interior parts has gone thru the roof and fixing the existing parts can make a lot of sense. I started repairing auto upholstery in DFW over 35 years ago. I know what works and what doesn't work. If you go to my website FixMyLeather.com, you'll find good advice as to when repair and maintenance will work to your advantage. Check out the before and after pictures.

Thank you for letting me work on your leather sofa and taking the time to give me a review. So far this year I’ve worked for 4 customers through Angie’s List.

I didn't think a repair was his best option so I recommended a shop that could help him. I perform repairs only when I can give a solid guarantee.

Description of Work: Restuffed a leather sofa cushion. Will have them do the other 5 very soon! It's a little pricey but probably industry norm.

and quot;My leather couch, at least 30 years old, needed significant work. It is very heavy as it contains a fold out bed so moving it is difficult. Original damage was from a German Shepherd puppy that shredded one of the arm pillows totally and significantly damaged the other one many years ago. I took it many years ago, to what I thought was a good repair place over in Dallas, only to be most unhappy with what happened. Those folks pulled parts of the each end open to remove the bits of damaged materials. But this effort failed. All the attempts to match leather color for replacement arm pillows failed badly. I ended up getting the sofa back, with the sides partially open, and many, many sharp nails / staples exposed. What a disaster, as the sofa was a very good one, with full real leather even on the sides and back surfaces of the sofa. I held onto the sofa for years, but did not know what else to do with it. I decided to attempt to have the sofa repaired, without adding back the flop over leather side pillows that used to be over each of the side arms in an attempt to regain perhaps some functional use of this expensive piece of furniture with modest expense. If that could not be done, then I was prepared to get rid of the sofa. So recently, I went onto Angie's list and found my new repair vendor with positive reviews by other Angie's list folks. I called and quot;Upholstery Fix (Steve)and quot; and described my problem. He had me take a few pictures and text attach the pictures to him to look at. He gave me a phone verbal estimated price of $150 as his best estimate from the pictures, with the comment that he would be able to confirm the cost and the quality of the repair possible when he could see the problems in person. Wonderfully, Steve has a mobile operation so that I did not have to try to move this heavy piece of furniture myself or pay for folks to come pick up the furniture and then bring it back. So, I had Steve come on out prepared to do the work. It was a difficult repair. It required some special hardware and tack strips that Steve had to drive to downtown Ft. Worth to go get. Steve explained and showed me where some of the leather had been deformed / stretched by the previous repair attempts in addition to the stretching the dog had accomplished. Steve explained that this meant he would make it look as good as he could and be quite serviceable yet would have some wrinkles in a repaired area of each side that were beyond being put back together perfectly. Since these areas were not very visible and the leather was a pretty dark brown color, and I really just wanted to regain functionality of the sofa, I had him proceed with the repair. The repair turned out better than I had hoped for. The repair turned out good enough that we put the sofa out in our main great room in a freestanding position and the sofa looks great. Steve probably put in about 6 hours of work and chasing parts in doing this project and did it for the original amount of his phone estimate. I ended up buying also some leather treatment solutions which is what increased the cost up another $30 dollars. Plus, Steve got all of this work done on the original day I first called him. Outstanding. I knew I would use this service again, as I had another chair that needed repairs, but that will be reported on a subsequent Angie's feedback later.

Vendor was out to perform repairs to my leather couch, which went very well. I had him also look at an old, expensive, retro type designer chair that we had been given by family. This chair is probably over 50 years old and was an expensive chair. The chair was missing some buttons that caused it to look tacky, Plus the way the chair was built we knew it would be difficult to get inside to fix the buttons even if replacement buttons were available. I sent the chair home off with and quot;Upholstery Fix (Steve)and quot; with instructions that I wanted this repaired very well. I was willing to let him keep the chair, and work on it as his time permitted, in order to get the best job possible. Steve had all new buttons fabricated, color matched and dyed to the existing very heavy black vinyl of the chair. When he brought the chair back after having it for about 10 work days, the repair was best we can tell perfect. Outstanding.

This was the second time I had Upholstery Fix work on this car. The first tear was L-shaped in the front seat several years ago. It is nearly invisible and is still holding up. This time there were several cracks/tears in the rear seat and again they are nearly invisible. He comes right to your house, is courteous and even applied a leather conditioner to both the front and rear seats.
Description of Work: I own a 2005 Acura MDX with leather seats. And I own dogs. Their nails are h the leather. I had several tears/wear marks repaired in the leather seats.

Technician was a little late due to unforseen circumstances, although we considered it "early" since it was ahead of the original scheduled date. All necessary steps were taken to ensure our carpet was not affected by coverings, and the finished job was perfect. The tech also recommended a leather conditioner that is considered one of the best. That consttuted the additional cost. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Upholstery Fix did a fantastic job repairing the tear on my leather car seat. Steve asked me to send a photo of the problem area in order to determine whether it was fixable or not, and if so how much it would be. The price was right and we scheduled a time for the repair. Steve came to my office and did the work onsite, saving me time and the inconvenience of being without a car. I would highly recommend Upholstery Fix to anyone in need of leather upholstery repair or restoration.
