I was pleasantly surprised that he and Nelson came over to see the problem, took responsibility for the faulty original install and offered to do sub floor, replace all tile and reinstall the shower door at no additional cost to me. Manuel, who did all the re-tiling work, did such an excellent job, one would never know tile was replaced. Sammy Peralta and his team not only restored the shower, they restored my faith in the integrity and professionalism of small business owners. I would not hesitate to hire the Peraltas again!
Description of Work: In 2017 we hired the Peraltas to remodel an upstairs bathroom, repaint two other rooms and change a door. We were very pleased with the result, and with the good communication that Sammy, Nelson and their team maintained with us throughout the project. All was fine until 2 years and 1 month later, (September 2019) when the shower which had been part of the original remodel began to leak. Initially, we called a plumber, because the source of the leak was not obvious. It didn't take long, however for the plumber to decide it was the shower, specifically the shower liner, which was judged not to have been installed to code standards. Repairing the liner and drain would also require installation of a new plywood sub floor. Plumbers removed/demolished the floor tile and several rows of wall tile, and installed a new flange but would not handle installing subfloor or replacing floor and wall tile. At this point, as the expense and time involved in fixing the leak mounted, I decided to contact Sammy Peralta, even though the warranty on his work had expired.

Very professional, prompt and responsive to our requests. Sammy, Nelson and team were able to step in and complete renovation on our house which flooded in Harvey. We are very satisfied with their ability to finish our house plus additional work requests in 2.5 months. The work totaled to about $50k, and included electrical, plumbing, flooring, carpentry, concrete, gravel, fencing, tree trimming/mulching, texturing the walls. For us, the upside of Peraltas is they have full-time hired people doing their work, not contracting out to sub-contractors, which was the issue we had with our first contractor. Additionally, the issues leftover from the first contractor's work required some creative problem solving and Peraltas was able to explain the situation to us and provide options for what could be done.

Sammy and crew did all of the work and only a couple of subcontractors needed to complete the job. I liked that Sammy and team only take on a couple of projects at a time so they can give the clients their fullest attention. Sammy himself came out to do the estimate. He was very prompt in getting us an estimate. He advised us on the best way to proceed. He helped us pick tile and other finishes. Sammy and his team were very professional and kept us informed along the way. They were able to stay on budget, which cannot always be said of other contractors out there. They completed the project on time. The quality of their work is high. We have been very happy with Sammy’s work. We will be using Sammy Peralta and his team again soon for a much bigger project.

I greatly commend Peraltas Remodeling for their work and attention to detail. The job was not rushed at all and gave me comfort that every thing was being done as I wished. If there were any changes or questions that I had along the way they were easily addressed and in a timely manner. I have since recommended them to many of my friends and family after they have raved over how great our house looks. One of our friends has actually already had Peraltas start on a bathroom remodel and it is even more inspiring to see the quality and workmanship these guys put into a project! You won't be disappointed!

We were very happy with the personnel, their work ethic and the quality and cost of their work. Both Sammy and Nelson were very good at answering our questions when issues arose requiring some adjustment to the timing of various phases of the project. We had a couple of issues with suppliers [wood floors in particular] who took about two extra weeks to provide the material but Sammy and Nelson were able to work around the issue and keep the project moving ahead. We also ran into an issue with satin versus flat latex paint in the family room which was solved with a single phone call. Their various crews dealing with sheetrock repair, painting, hardwood flooring, carpentry, electrical work and carpet installation were all hard working and very good at their craft. It is obvious that these teams have been working together well, and all have their 10,000 hours in, as nothing fazed them during the refurbishment. We will happily contact The Peraltas in the future as work on the house continues.... Note that the approximate cost below does not include material costs for carpet, underpad and hardwood flooring all of which was supplied by us. A few pics attached...
Description of Work: After 20 years and two kids we decided to tackle a long overdue refresh of our home. Of the contractors we talked with The Peraltas ended up being a perfect fit for us. Sammy, Nelson and their crews were a joy to have around the house for the 9 weeks it took to complete our hit list. Every room in the house was in play with the exception of my office as I needed to keep working during the remodeling. As the project progressed through the house we found ourselves living in both guest bedrooms and finally back in the master but we always had a functional bedroom, washroom and kitchen throughout. Here is the hit list: Master suite [bedroom, bathroom, walk-in]: - frame in, insulate and sheetrock an unwanted window which accomplished nothing but allow light from the neighbor's security system into our bedroom. We left the exterior window and brick work in place in case the next owners would like to resurrect it, but on the inside you'd never know it ever existed. A very nice job. - fix all issues with drywall metal tape cracks and nail pops on ceilings and walls - prime, paint ceiling, walls, doors and trim - remove all wallpaper from the master bath, fix the sheetrock, texture, prime and paint. - repair ceiling damage due to residual leak after a roof replacement. - match texture, paint - add a shelving system to the walk-in - repair water damage on walk-in ceiling due to a shower overflow in an upstairs bathroom - prime, paint ceiling, walls, doors, new shelving and trim - install an externally vented exhaust fan in the toilet room - remove carpets in walk-in and bedroom, clean area - install new underpad, edge strips and carpet in bedroom and walk-in Family room: - screw down metal tape as needed to repair sheetrock cracking around arches, windows and doorways - match texture, prime and paint 20' ceiling, walls and trim Kitchen: - remove wallpaper - add 4 LED lighting units over kitchen table area, tie in to existing wiring and add dimmer switch - add LED lighting over cooktop, tie in to existing wiring - add 3 pull-out drawers to existing under-counter cabinets - install pegboard wall in pantry - texture sheetrock, prime and paint walls, ceiling, doors and trim Dining Room: - open ceiling over bay window and diagnose leak - found leak was due to shoddy builder mortar work on exterior brick wall - remove existing failed mortar and brick, re-install brick with new mortar - repair water damage to bay window wall - close ceiling, texture new sheetrock, re-screw metal sheetrock edges along bay window - match texture, prime, paint ceiling and repaired wall Powder Room: - remove pedestal sink, remove wallpaper - fix walls, texture sheetrock, prime and paint walls, ceiling, door and trim Laundry room: - fix old patch in ceiling from previous plumbing work - install a pegboard wall - replace water damaged base boards behind washer - prime, paint ceiling, walls and trim Game Room: - fix damaged ceiling where HVAC crew on sheetrock and cracked it - secure HVAC air return box with sistered 2x4's to bring it up to code - re-screw metal tape on sheetrock in gabled ceiling - match texture, prime and paint ceiling, walls, doors and trim - remove carpet, clean and secure existing 2x6 flooring - install plywood subfloor - install new wood floor - install transitions to banister, stairway and carpeted areas Stairway Hall: - remove carpet, remove edges - clean area and install new 1" solid oak treads, new risers - paint risers - sand and stain treads to match existing, and new wood floors - finish treads with 3 coats water base and final coat oil based lacquer - caulk stairway, paint banister trim - Fix sheetrock tape cracks on hall wall recesses - fix corner crack in ceiling - match texture, prime and paint ceiling, walls and trim Bedrooms [3]: - fix wall and ceiling cracks, nail pops, screw down metal sheetrock tape, etc. - match texture, prime and paint ceiling, walls, doors and trim - remove old carpet - clean and secure existing 2x6 flooring - install new carpet, underpad and edge stripping as required Study: - rip out built in study desk and drawers - install new baseboards in that area - remove damaged attic access stairs - install new attic access with aluminum steps - repair sheetrock, match texture, prime, paint ceiling, walls, attic access door and trim - remove carpet - clean and secure existing 2x6 flooring - install new carpet and underpad Back Stairway: - remove carpet - clean and secure existing treads and risers - install new carpet and underpad

The scope of the work affected every area of our 2,300 sqft single story house. For many years the house had suffered from neglected upkeep/deferred maintenance. I had hand-drawn, detailed plans and a computer model of the "before" and "after". My plans were detailed. All work was to be performed under the condition that at least one bedroom and one bath was functional at any time. Sammy Peralta visited with me twice to review and discuss options, costs and limitations. His friendly, polite demeanor, and his "can do"/"we will make it work" attitude encouraged me to explain to him even some of my more daring visions. After we came to an initial agreement, he introduced me to Nelson Franco, his project manager. We did a walk-through to confirm that things could be done as planned. I liked Nelson: he was a good listener. His observations and his answers to my questions showed that he was clearly very experienced. My first impressions of both, Sammy and Nelson, proved right: they are friendly, polite and cheerful, seasoned professionals, motivated and eager to please. They are experienced remodelers: they did not just delegate to their crew, but they were hands-on when necessary, and definitely not afraid to get dirty at critical moments during the project. Sammy and Nelson brought in their core crew for initial demolition: all very polite and friendly. The scope of demolition was extensive, and so was dirt and dust and debris. But at the end of each workday the crew picked up and removed the debris, and they swept the floors to keep things safe and reasonably orderly and clean. For all work requiring permits, they had their network of licensed professionals who worked swiftly at all critical moments and diligently planned their work to keep my discomfort at the absolute minimum: the plumber replaced all the pipes in the attic and the open walls in such a way that I was really only one day without water at all (plus one night without warm water). The electrician organized his work in the same manner when we switched from the overhead line to the underground supply: All work was prepared in a way that Centerpoint could disconnect one morning and reconnect in the late afternoon of that same day. Beautiful, custom-fitted cabinetry was created for both bathrooms on-site by Julio, a true expert-craftsman. They were finished and painted to perfection by Nelson's crew once all the tile work around them was completed. Both bathrooms would have porcelain tiles - not only on the floors and around the tub, but also on all the walls up to the ceiling. Oscar, the tile specialist, did an excellent job! He even offered me to set some of his time aside to go with me and choose the grout colors that would best complement the tiles! He was visibly enthusiastic and proud of his work! The tiling of the walls required also a great deal of coordination of Oscar's work with both, the plumbers and the electricians. Special care was necessary in the guest bathroom, where a recessed mirror cabinet with integrated dimmer lights was to be installed. The tiles had to be cut very carefully to allow for proper, level fitting of all switches and fixtures. Creativity was needed to build a wall of ship lap to transform the appearance of our entry hallway. Nelson worked closely with his crew to solve the problems with the installation of flooring material on a vertical wall. The result was stunning (see photos). The complexity and reach of the project required a lot of communication and at times adjustments, creativity and improvisation. A few things that appeared to be straight forward turned out to be challenge and required me to compromise. But Sammy and Nelson had prepared me for this to happen; and their experience found often acceptable and surprisingly good looking workarounds. Not all went smooth and exactly as planned...There was the original estimate of a time frame: Sammy initially thought it might take up to 14 weeks, but it ended up being more like 21 weeks. The number of permits requiring clearance by City inspectors at various stages of the project put progress on halt at times. Some fixtures and materials were special order and did not arrive as scheduled. Worse: the plumber had to install and remove and exchange the special valve kit for the Master bath tub fixture twice! The third time only we received one that would work properly. There were a few communication mix-ups and work site bottlenecks, when carpenters, plumbers and electricians had to do successive jobs in the same small work space. Then there were the Christmas and New Years Holidays. And then there were the unforeseen incidents that come when working large-scale on an older house: the removal of one wall required a lot more structural work in the ceiling than we all expected. Two adjacent walls turned out not to be in the same level once the separation wall was removed! Nelson's fix: build a facade wall that makes the problem disappear! Failing old drain lines caused water back-ups twice in the course of the rebuilding of the two bathrooms and required mop-ups and eventual drain line replacements. The installation of a structural ceiling joist required moving the AC emergency drain pan and drain line. I had to call my AC service company to put everything back in order. The new gas range needed not only the gas line but also an electrical line for the ignition, and the 220volt line from my old stove top was not appropriate for that purpose. So a new 110volt powerline and plug had to be installed. And then, of course there are the little extras and opportunities to improve or replace things I had not initially considered but made perfect sense as the interior was gutted in many places: a new and larger air return opening and grill. A new thermostat that allows me to control the temperature in my house with my smartphone from anywhere. A new and better Attic door. A new and better Attic light with a new and better switch at a new and better place. New exterior lighting. Accoustic insulation before closing up the open bedroom walls...all done by Sammy and Nelson at a very good price, but it all added to the project's time, of course. But then again, you cannot be in a hurry when you decide to do all that to your house in a single big effort. The Peraltas are a general remodeling company in the true sense of the word. The entire crew is very good with paint, sheet rock and carpentry. Interior or exterior: there is almost nothing they do not offer to do. Everyone is respectful, friendly and polite. There is never a lack of honest good wilI, and a sincere eagerness to please. Take the time and ask the questions to understand their system of "allowances" for fixtures and materials. Sammy prefers you being involved in the choices rather than recommending anything outright. So do some homework. The Peraltas transformed my house into a place I like to live in. Into a place I like to show my friends and neighbors. I believe that the Peraltas gave me a lot of value for the price I paid. I am already making a list of other projects to call Sammy about. But if I had to pick the single one thing the Peraltas are absolutely amazing at, I would say it is the way they do bathrooms! It has been three months since they finished my house, but I just can't help smiling whenever I enter one of my new bathrooms. Sammy and Nelson transformed my visions into palpable reality. They understood what I wanted, and they were capable of making it happen.
Description of Work: This project was a long planned effort to upgrade our house (built in 1969). It involved some serious changes and modernizations: We needed city permits for structural, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work. External work: new underground power supply and upgraded service panel. New main sewer drain line. Modern vinyl replacement windows. New entry doors in front and back. Interior work: some significant changes to the original floor plan. Moved/removed walls to create new, modern, larger bathrooms and a new large bedroom. New floors and recessed ceiling lights. Replace entire old plumbing with modern PEX lines. New electrical wires and modern dimmers in many parts of the house. Replaced kitchen sink and altered counter top, changed from electric to gas cooking range. Redesigned entrance hallway.

I competitively bid the work amongst 3 highly-rated Angie's List contractors. Peraltas was the low bidder and performed very well. Their tile man, Manuel, is especially talented. Peraltas is worth hiring just get the services of this one person! They remodeled two bathrooms which included a new countertop, new tile floor, new functional window in shower, converting an old shower to a closet, converting a large tub area to a walk-in shower with a linear drain in the master, as well as extending a wall and incorporating 2 new doors to a toilet room and the closet. In the guest bath they removed a bath tub and converted into a shower with linear drain, added new countertop, new mirror, faucet and electrical. In the laundry they added a new countertop. They are especially good at laying tile and crafting soap niches (boxes) in the shower as well as exterior brick work which was necessary with the new window. I elected to use my own plumbing company (Pickett Plumbing) for the most complex parts of the plumbing work and another company (Euro Glass) to construct the frameless showers. I would gladly employ Peraltas again!

The Peraltas Remodeling & Services team did a phenomenal job on my home. I bought a spec home because of the proximity to work but didn’t like the options so I had all the floors pulled up and replaced with porcelain tile. All the stainless steel hardware was replaced with brushed nickel. The entire home was repainted. The ceiling fans and light fixtures were replaced, a water softener was installed, crown molding was added to the second floor and two bathrooms were completely redone. They were always prompt, respectful, dependable, reliable and informative. Sammy, Manny & Nelson always kept me informed and answered the multitude of questions I had. If I have any future remodeling needs the Peraltas team will be the only contractor that I call and you should too because they proved that excellent contractors still exist! It went wonderful. After we had some scheduling issues, on both our parts we worked-out the date and time. We were able to pick out and pay for the door, and storm door. The Peraltas picked them up from Home Depot. They removed the old door, installed the new door, changed the door hardware as it was damaged when the break-in occurred. Also, installed a storm door, cut, installed, and painted the frame. And, cleaned-up after themselves. We are very pleased.

The Peraltas Remodeling (Sammy and Nelson) both did a very good job with my house in Meyerland. My house had flooded in Meyerland and had been remediated but needed a total remodel and renovation. I was looking for a mid-budget remodeler, and I was very pleased with The Peraltas. The major pieces of the work performed is listed below: - Full kitchen remodel (with wall removal and custom island/pantry) - Full master bath remodel (with wall removal and replumbing) - Update of electrical system - Creation of new walk-in closet with wall addition - Dry wall and paint across the entire house - Flooring across the entire house The renovation was done in ~4 months and was completed with high quality and professionalism. Both Sammy and Nelson were responsive throughout the process and were easy to work with. There was some minor work redone in the punchlist --- which they did in a timely manner and to standard. I would hire them again and have recommended them to my friends. Great job!

Brought Sammy in to provide a quote on a fairly extensive update to home. As others mentioned, there is a small fee associated with having him come out during the first visit. However, keep in mind Sammy does more than spend 30 minutes meeting with you. We spent several hours with Sammy walking through our home and discussing needs and wish list items. In return, we received a fairly detailed quote that included all items we discussed. After deciding to move forward, we were provided a start date and estimated time to complete the project. With this being our first major contracting experience, we weren't sure what to expect, but here is a general overview of our experience: 1. Day 1 - Sammy arrives at 7:30 and introduces us to Nelson, who will serve as the foreman for the project. Nelson was super responsive during the entire project. He answered any and all questions that I had and worked side by side with his crew throughout the process. He also provided quick solutions to problems encountered and would make suggestions on small details that ultimately improved the look and feel of the home. 2. Day 1 - Crew arrives at 7:30 AM, pulls the dumpster up the driveway, receives instruction from Sammy and Nelson and gets right to work. 3. For the next 12 weeks, the crew worked diligently on the project. There was always someone working at our house, Monday through Saturday (yes, they worked Saturday as well) from 7:30 am to beyond 5 pm. 4. The entire crew was extremely hard working, easy to interact with, and helpful. Even more important, it was the same group of guys during the entire project because Sammy has his own team. 5. The project was completed within the scheduled 16 week period. Overall, we are extremely happy with the results. With any project, there will be challenges and issues that are encountered. Sammy and Nelson were always up front with issues and provided recommendations and solutions. As with any project, you should always allocate additional funds for unforeseen issues that arise. We did have a couple of those items, but they were fairly minor in respect to the project as a whole and were not issues that could have been determined prior to the project. From a price perspective, the company was probably in the top 25% of quotes that I received. However, this is truly a 'you get what you pay for' situation. Being consistently on site six days a week, providing quality work, delivering the project on time, and providing exceptional customer service is well worth it.

I called Mr. Peralta in the early June 2018 and his scheduler booked an appointment July 2018 for him to give me an estimate. She charged me $25 just to book an appointment. I thought it was unusual, no other Angie’s list provider does this. Two weeks later Mr. Peralta and I met, he was on time, neatly dressed and smeed professional. He quoted me $16,000 to paint the interior of my home. He also stated it would take another couple weeks because he so busy on other jobs right now. I received a total of four quotes, from four different painters range from, $11,800, $12000, $12,500 and his quote of $16,000. Although he seems very competent and capable, i found his quote be extremely overpriced and for that reason I did not utilize his services.

Samuel and Manny and others were excellent workers and worked hard to try to figure out some tough plumbing questions. Manny certainly earned respect the way he tackled the outside plumbing tasks. Excellent job all around

Frankly the entire experience was just excellent. Sammy runs a tight ship, addresses any issues head on, has solid craft workers on his crews, and even helped us pick tile. (!). The fellow that performed the majority of the shower work, Manuel, was a great dude. He clearly loved the work, took his time, and made a few adjustments along the way to keep us happy. Quality of work was professional. The care he took to clean up each day and protect our home during the process was outstanding. You don’t get this level of respect from everyone. We were very pleased with the quality of work from the painter, also. I felt the pricing was quit high, as we had this same work quoted before and after Harvey came through, so very much apples to apples from a number of different sources. That said, we certainly got top quality work. We would recommend Sammy & his team without hesitation and hope to contract with them in the future for more bath and kitchen work.
Description of Work: Our master bath shower floor pan had a leak. We had been wanting to upgrade the shower anyway so worked with Peraltas for a full shower gut and rebuild. They fixed the drain, replumbed, tiled and installed frameless glass. Also upgraded the master bath hardware since it was accessible.

Sammy Peralta honored a purchase I had made for this service several months before I could use it. He kept in touch with me and was very patient and respectful as we worked together to find the best time to get the job done. He gave me advise on how to get the best quality paint. I have no experience with this and the information made it easier for me. HIs team did a great job clearing out tree branches and other brush around the house that I was concerned about, They pressure washed, and completed the painting in three days. They left everything clean and complete. I am grateful to have chosen Peraltas for this job.

Can't say enough about the Peralta's responsiveness, service, and professionalism. Hired them to repair a couple of areas of soffit and fascia that were damaged by trees, animals, and water. Those areas look brand new now. They also identified some other problem areas and did repairs to those as well. No sales pressure, just identified problems, suggested reasonable remedies, and did great work. I will be hiring them again, I am sure. A breath of fresh air after some of the work we had done post-Harvey.

They did an excellent job. They were on time each day and finished the work ahead of schedule. They took great care with walls and flooring to ensure they did not mark or scratch any surfaces with equipment and powers cords as they moved around the house. I would use them again f the need arises.

Sammy, Nelson and crew were great!! After our awful contractor experience post-Harvey, it was WONDERFUL to have such responsive and professional guys on the job. They cleaned up after themselves, answered questions in a timely fashion, and were even able to track down a different quartz countertop that I found in a Pinterest pic last minute! I couldn’t be happier with the final results. I would definitely hire them again.
