Excellent! Very good work and very cooperative. The only flaw was I never got a written estimate or invoice, but our verbal agreement was honored in toto without debate.

This was an excellent remodel experience, from the initial meeting and drawing up of the bid to the final day of walk through. Sammy is wonderful at listening to what you want, making suggestions, letting you know ahead of time any "worst case scenarios" so you are not caught off guard later. His bid was more than fair, especially considering the quality of work we received. Every tradesman that was in our home was top notch. They were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Very neat, even during demo. They always had time for our questions, concerns, and yes, even when we changed our minds :-) We were 100% comfortable with every single person in our home. The end result is exactly what we had hoped for and looks even better than we had envisioned. This job was completed on time, and in budget. The only additional costs we incurred were for things we added on during the remodel process. Also please note, the price above included an $1100.00 allowance for materials, flooring, faucets, tub, etc. Also, we wanted to keep the existing mirror, cabinets and toilet, and the crews completed all demo without a mark on the items we were keeping. We would hire this company again in a heartbeat and will be recommending them to friends currently looking for a company that is trustworthy and has skilled, professional tradesmen. I see why they were an Angie's List award winner!
Description of Work: We had a bathroom in our house that was original from 1975. It needed to be completely updated. The shower tile was removed, original bath tub, new plumbing lines installed, new and additional studs added in the walls. Tile floor was removed, old slab dug out and new slab poured. All walls painted. The original countertop was removed and a new quartz countertop installed, new double faucets.

Peraltas remodeled the hall bathroom. I purchased the Deal deposit, and Samuel contacted me within a couple of days, and provided a complete estimate after viewing the bathroom. I live in a 40 year old house, and the bathroom was original. The crew encountered some unexpected issues once they started the demolition, which added an extra day and a half onto the estimate, but they handled it with no extra cost! The entire crew worked hard to make sure that there was little dust or debris. They cleaned up after themselves and left me with a beautiful bathroom! Samuel allowed me to select my own tub, vanity, tile, etc. I would highly recommend and would use again!

I selected the contractor after receiving several bids. They were the low bidder but I was still concerned with obtaining a quality project. (I am an architect and built homes in the late 70s so I was very familiar with the type of work). Sammy, the contractor owner provided several pricing options as we were basing the scope on the available funding. Having reached agreement on scope and price the work proceeded promptly. We paid 1/2 of the contract up front, which gave me some concern, but his next request for payment was long after they had passed the 50& mark. Although there were at times some communication issues, his superintendent Dennis really knew what he was doing. He completely reframed my sagging breezeway and an atrium wall, including removal of the lower half of the wall to add a laminated beam. The eave extension and porch cover extension are first class. And the stone added to the front took the house from an 'okay' elevation to one of the nicest on the street. Even the removal of the awful popcorn ceiling, sheetrock repair and refinishing was not as painful as expected. The work done was generally first class with an effort to do the best job rather than just get done. Although the work on the atrium wall was particularly difficult they provided a closure wall allowed us to continue to live there through the entire process. They responded well when I identified a problem. I expect some challenges but they always worked to satisfy me. They also worked around my schedule, as some days were not convenient to work inside.
Description of Work: Scope included following: Removal of all wood siding and installation and painting of Hardi-plank. Adding eaves and soffits to front of house. Extending porch and reconstruction of breezeway. Reconstruction of one tall atrium wall (that was originally built incorrectly 40 years ago and had termite damage). This required removal and stabilization of the lower half of the wall, interim sealing of wall and new drywall and siding. Stone accents were added to the front of the house. The sidewalk and porch concrete were demolished and repoured. Interior work included removal of 600 sf of popcorn ceiling and a new light stomp finish, new low voltage can lighting. Gyp board repairs and painting of two bedrooms as well as atrium wall.

I expected to spend about $50,000 on fixtures, tub, tiles, flooring, paint, appliances, carpet, doors and windows. I needed some one who is skilled and could help me end up with the a space I envisioned within the confines of the building already there. My home is a 1970 build on a slant, uneven slab we had to handle with engineered piers, with old hollow core doors, dark brown birch kitchen cabinets, bi-fold bathroom doors, mostly low ceilings, small bathrooms and dark, drab corners. I wanted to update pretty much everything but had a budget and did not want to alter or move any walls. I interviewed 17 contractors. As I reworked the house, it became clear that choosing Sammy Peralta was one of the best decisions I made. He gave me his full attention as I explained my vision, he looked at photos I provided, he had ideas and made suggestions, showed me how my ideas might look, and if I did not like it, generated other ideas on how to handle design challenges, showing me pictures of his work in other homes that he could replicate in mine, or getting online to show me something he'd seen that might work. Doing a house on this scale is very stressful and it was a relief to have some one upbeat and confident on the job. He was consistent in his reassurances that all problems were solvable. He sent me a quote I understood, revised it when we changed things. He made sure I understood what he was doing and what he was charging. I believe his price was incredibly reasonable for the time, scale of work, and problem solving involved. This project started in mid-summer and did not finish until January. Sammy's guys came to work daily except Sundays and holidays. There were usually at least 2 working diligently at any given time. Some days the house was full of people. It was an amazing experience to see the transformation. Sammy communicated with the crew he sent to my house, all of whom were polite, cleaned up after themselves, were very respectful, and quite frankly, I cannot say enough nice things about them as a group, and on an individual basis, these are some really nice guys. One of them asked if he could leave a prayer for us, which I have tucked in my desk to remind me that some people are gifted, faithful and work hard, and to appreciate that when I get to be there for it. They made every effort to get what I wanted done. They paper protected the brick floor I wanted to save, shielding it from the many boots in and out of the house. The tile setter communicated with me almost daily, demonstrating how patterns might look, suggesting grout color to match perfectly. It looks so good the inspector asked to take a picture and if he could know the name of the product installed: Italian porcelain suggested by the people at Floor & Décor. Sammy is right, they are very helpful, showed us all of the options, let us unpack tile to lay it out in the store, gave suggestions for complimentary pieces, and they take anything they still sell, back. They should compensate him for his good word of mouth. If Sammy ran into an obstacle, he came to me to talk about solutions. For example, I wanted the low ceilings in the bathrooms raised, but in one, there were pipes in the way. He had a plumber come in and re-fit that pipe so the ceiling could be lifted and water flow as it should. When I wanted a kitchen cabinet placed so that it does not meet the ceiling, leaving a space for a light fixture, Sammy showed me the mechanical to the a/c that should not be moved, and he suggested moving all cabinets up and we flipped through pictures and saw those with lighting inside the cabinets, which would give me the look I wanted and conceal the mechanical at the same time. He ordered the glass pieces after showing me the options for types of glass, and installed them into the cabinets for no additional charge. They are lovely and have a great glow at night. He saved me over $10,000 in expenses by sending me to stores that offered better selections, prices and had better return policies. I do not have a case of unreturnable tile in my garage. If I bought a tile that did not work, he showed me the mismatch or explained why the fragile slate stacked stones I chose would not stand up well in doorways with lots of foot traffic. The a/c went out over the summer, and paint had already been applied to trim in all bedrooms, so after the job was wrapped up, it bubbled in some places when the weather got cooler and drier. Sammy immediately sent some one over to check it, sand and repaint those places. A job this big is bound to have a few things not go perfectly, and that is the case here, but those items that were not perfect are so minor, that it is laughable. And really, anything that did not fit my idea, they immediately stopped to address and change. My house is lovely, everything works as it should, I had stress over spending so much money but I did not stress about Sammy as contractor once I saw that my confidence was well placed, and am relieved that I was lucky enough to choose him. In stark contrast, I went with an electrician referral of a friend of the family, who was unpredictable, and to whom Sammy's crew had to listen as he sputtered inappropriate comments and tried to direct them as if his employees. Sammy at one point, had to kindly get on the phone for me and persuade him to get his work done so things could keep moving forward to completion. He went above and beyond on that score. Phone calls: he returned them. Texts: he replied. All of them timely-- some of them immediate, some of them not. If you have something pressing and he is with some one else, he either takes your call and gives a quick response, or texts. I could not recall the paint color chosen and got the paint store, called him, left a VM, and got a text from him for of the color within minutes. Found out he'd listed my house and the colors with the Sherwin Williams store anyway, so the girl at the register was saying me the same color name as I was reading the text. If I had to redo a house again, I would not hesitate to choose Sammy all over again. It has been delightful working with him--
Description of Work: Gutted and rebuilt 3 bathrooms, demolished and rebuilt a kitchen including countertops, cabinets, glass panels in cabinet, soft close hinges, accompanying plumbing, installed appliances, trim, and all the working parts that go with starting from a bare room. Tile flooring was installed in all bathrooms, and the entire downstairs, about 2000 square feet. Work included whole house interior and exterior paint, hanging new doors throughout, 2 exterior doors, patching wall and ceiling damage as a result of a plumbing repair, and electric repair. Rebuilt a drain floor in a laundry room. Helped carry in supplies and anything else that I had delivered or brought in, including the removal of 3 cast iron tubs, two from upstairs, and carrying a new 500 lb. one upstairs.

The work was professionally done and the finished remodeling is beautiful. Sammie was very responsive to my request for a bid. I got bids from two other companies also, and Sammie's bid was in the middle and very fair. I went with Sammie because he took the time to explain thoroughly what could and needed to be done for the results I wanted. I felt confident that he could deliver what I wanted, and he did. I really liked the crew that did the work, especially Santos and Pedro. They kept me aware of what they were going to do to make sure that the work met my approval. I will use this company again in the future, and I would recommend them based on my wonderful experience with them.

I called Sammy because of his special for $2k to paint 1800 square feet and i was curious if i could have the entire exterior of my brick home and detached garage painted at this price. Sammy came to my house on time and seemed very professional. He didn't get a quote back to me until about a week, but it was the lowest of all the bids i got. My house was over the 1800 square feet, so there was an additional cost for the extra materials etc. Unfortunately, I chose to go with another painter because they were going to power wash my entire driveway and sidewalks for a little more. I called Sammy and let him know my decision and he said that we could've modified the contract for the extra work and worked out the price, but unfortunately the deal was done.

We remodeled our living room and replaced the siding on our house due to mold issues. Sammy and his crew were very professional and polite. They were extremely helpful when it came to coming up with ideas for the remodel. It took them about a week to tear down and put up a new ceiling, tear out old floors and install new wood floors, build a wall and install french doors, tear down the outside siding of the house and replace it, and paint. The crew always arrived early. They went above and beyond what we expected and will defiantly contact Sammy again for future projects.

We initially met Sammy through an Angie's List Big deal for exterior painting. He and his team were prompt, courteous, and they did a really nice job. He was more than willing to paint a few cleanouts and exterior penetrations through our brick that were chipping and peeling in addition to the obvious scope of work. Now for the most recent work: We decided we needed to enclose our second story game loft to make the area more functional for our family. My husband wanted to use the space as his "man cave". At the same time, we also wanted to replace all the windows throughout the home. After researching only Grade "A" providers on Angie's list, I found 4 companies from which I requested bids. Two companies were rated highly for both their remodeling and window replacement services, one company only did siding and windows, and one company focused primarily on interior remodeling (or so I thought). Peralta's was the latter on the list. I brought Sammy back because they did such a great job with our exterior painting. During our initial walk-thru he explained to me that he could also replace our windows. But, I was happy with the group of contractors I had bidding on that work, so I asked him to focus on the interior wall. The work was a bit tricky because one side of our curved stair rail had to be removed where the new wall would be constructed, and it would connect to a partially vaulted 10 foot ceiling on the second story...so not just a simple framing job. We wanted to make the new room as sound proof as possible to prevent sound transmission into our girl's rooms (immediately adjacent) and down through the foyer. To achieve this, we wanted batt insulation installed between the studs. Sammy suggested we also ad a layer of foam insulation board under the drywall on the interior side of the wall for added absorption. Great idea! After collecting all the bids, Peralta's was the low bidder. I must add that his bid fell in line with what I thought the work should cost and that the other bidders either flaked on me because they felt the job was too small for them or they quoted twice what Sammy quoted (which I thought was outrageous). I have worked in the design and construction industry for almost 20 years so I knew what I wanted to pay for the work and knew I would have to find the right sized company to meet my budget. Sammy's business is the perfect size for this kind of job! If you hire a well known, large construction firm with lots of employees, etc, they have lots of overhead and will definitely cost you more. I wanted quality work without paying for all the middle men. I should also mention that despite the fact that Sammy came in as low bidder, I felt he was the right guy for the job. He was interested, considerate, and meticulous in our conversations about what I wanted as a finished product. The crew he compiled for the work was awesome. They didn't speak great English, but we were still able to communicate and if there was ever a time when I felt like I wasn't being completely understood, I just called Sammy and he made sure that everything was communicated correctly. I was very specific and particular about the way I wanted the space to be protected during construction and cleaned at the end of each day. Sammy's crew was meticulous and followed all of my requests. They did a fantastic job of framing and finishing the work and I am thrilled with the results! I knew I wanted to either hang large art or mirrors on the stair side of the new wall so I worked with Sammy and his crew to install blocking at specific locations. They mocked-up the size of the pieces I intend to purchase and experimented with their location and placement in order to determine where the blocking should go. They then worked with me to document the locations for my use when it comes time for me to do the install. I'm so happy with their cooperation and assistance!
Description of Work: Interior Remodeling: We had a wall built to enclose our second story game loft. As part of the scope of work, they painted our two story foyer and all areas connected to the wall addition. We also used Sammy to paint the exterior of our home last year. The cost listed is for the interior remodeling and painting.

I paid 699$ for 2 painters for eight hours. They came and painted the large media room, but did not manage to finish even the one room. They painted only one coat on the door, leaving me to do the rest. The painters spilled about 6 spots of paint on my carpet that I had to clean up with oxyclean. Then, I had to spend thirty minutes washing red paint off the dirt and pavement on the side of my yard and scrub spots of paint spilled on my concrete driveway. Overall, not satisfied that 2 professional painters came to the house for 8 hours, did not finish one, although large sized, room and failed to clean up the spilled paint.

Very pleased with the service performed. Highly recommended. In addition to the paint job (see my other review), The Peraltas company removed old gutters and replace rot-damaged wood trim around the house. The estimate I received was lower than other estimates for replacing trim (labor and materials). Few days later, crew arrived, removed old gutters, installed new 1x2" trim and power washed my house in preparation for the paint job which I also ordered from the Peraltas company (the $1199 deal). Finally, they removed all the debris after the paint job was completed. Great job guys!

Very pleased with the deal and service performed. Highly recommended. I met Samuel Peralta a week ago, discussed paint job details and other work required. I requested an additional work to remove old gutters and replace rot-damaged wood trim around the house. Few days later, after another crew installed new trim and power washed my house, the paint crew arrived and worked hard from start to finished. All minor concerns were immediately addressed. My house looks beautiful!

I am pleased to present another A to Peraltas for Sam's professionalism in working with an out-of-state home-owner. Sam went the extra mile to show me the different choices of attic stairs and locks available in Lowe's. He face-timed me while he was at Lowe's and I knew exactly what I was getting and how much the items cost. There was no unknowns which facilitated my decision to hire him. He had scheduled my job for the forth-coming week but as soon as an opening came up, he called and that very morning, the attic staircase was replaced and the locks re-keyed at a reasonable rate. Upon completion, Sam forwarded photos of the completed job. Job was completed to my satisfaction. A couple of weeks later, Sam returned to replace the ceiling fan, window latch and miscellaneous nitty gritty stuff. Being able to manage my property from a thousand miles away through the assistance of a reliable and responsible contractor was highly beneficial to me. Sam's sincerity, honesty and focus on delivering results stood out. I would highly recommend The Peraltas Remodeling Services without any reservation.

Overall it went well. Sam was prompt and very easy to get a hold of during the whole operation. I really believe he is honest and fair. It took a longer than I thought it would have, but it was during the period when Houston was getting torrential rains. I was out of town for a time during the final stages of the operation as well. I would definitely go back to Sam and recommend him to my friends.

The Peraltas and their specialized teams executed the scope of work in an excellent manner. They replaced all wood with treated wood w/o special request and reinforced the ceiling supports by adding more studs. The structural demo / rebuilt team led by Nelson developed their own idea of how to support the exterior brick wall above the doors which was gladly accepted. Additional damage discovered during execution was fixed right away. The work was completed within two weeks. All teams were punctual and efficient on the job. The bid was very competitive and the work was done very well with the attitude to add value to the customer?s property. Sammy and his teams are responsive, flexible and experienced. We definitely would work with Sammy again and like to recommend his services.
Description of Work: Sammy and his teams replaced a 25 ft wall to the backyard consisting of five French doors, 2 to open and 3 fixed. The replacement included the 4 stud groups between the 5 door elements which are the structural support of the second story of the house. They installed new casing / moulding, sheetrock and trim and finalized the project including sealing and painting.

This project proceeded over two separate intervals that included the initial repair to the Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom, Master water closet and adjacent Guest Bedroom due to an 'initial' busted water pipe. Within a matter of a few months a series of different water pipes all teeing off the Master Bathroom also began to leak. Consequently, the Peraltas Remodeling and Services company had to be contracted on two different occasions with the need to 'repeat' some of the initial repairs to sheet rock, etc. On both occasions, Sammy's team of construction workers were punctual, considerate of the renters' personal schedules and efficient in getting the job done in a timely manner. Sammy and his foremen were very responsive to my inquiries of the progress and estimated time of completion. Throughout both projects, Sammy's team received separate requests from the tenants for additional 'minor' repairs to which I as the 'landlord' was agreeable to the extra work. Sammy kept me informed of the adjustment to the overall proposal and we were able to keep the projects on time and on budget. On each of the two occasions, Sammy's team(s) arrived early on the day they had promised and were able to complete their tasks within a 5-day period. This helped to minimize any inconvenience to the tenants as their schedules were always taken into consideration. Both my tenants and I have been extremely pleased with the quality of service, level of communication and honesty exhibited by the Peraltas Remodeling and Services company. In fact, I have now scheduled for Sammy to come to my residence to provide me an estimate for a number of separate projects that my spouse has identified for 'upgrading' our current home. I would recommend Sammy and his team of dedicated & honest workers to anyone who inquires of me.
Description of Work: Sammy's team provided several repairs to various rooms in our rental property that were required due to water damage resulting from several hot water pipes running to the Master Bathroom. These repairs included: 1) Install new sheet rock and 'float' the same in Master Bathroom, Master Bathroom water closet, Master Bedroom, adjacent Guest Bedroom and garage; 2) Install new exhaust fan in Master water closet; 3) Install new padding & carpet in Master Bathroom (including linen closet), Master Bedroom (including closet) and adjacent Guest Bedroom (including closet); 4) Paint walls and ceilings in Master Bedroom, Master Bedroom, adjacent Guest Bedroom and garage; 5) Prep Master water closet with proper care, caulk proper areas and paint walls and ceiling appropriately; 6) Replace and paint new door in Master Bedroom; 7) Take out old tile and install new tile in Kitchen floor; 8) Install new back-splash (tile) in Kitchen; 9) Install new ceiling fan in Family room; 10) Repair electrical wiring in Dining room chandelier; 11) Drain water from dishwasher in Kitchen and make serviceable again; 12) Replace and install new exhaust vent hood over stove in Kitchen; and, 13) Replace and install new garage door opener kit (opener, railing, etc...) with wall control button in garage.

Sammy was punctual and easy to work with. Although there were problems along the way, he and his team were always helpful to remedy them and provide the best service they could. Sammy was available even while he was on vacation and made every effort to make sure I was satisfied with the remodel.
