Beautiful quality fence. Have had comments from neighbors on how great it looks. The crew that tore down the old fence and erected new fence completed it in a professional manner. When I requested an estimate Texas Fence sent a representative to calculate an estimate in a timely manner. I was given 3 options to choose from. Once I made my selection, Texas Fence selected a foreman to direct the completion of the fence. He called me immediately to schedule a day to begin that was convenient for me.

Awesome! Highly recommend them. Someone answers the phone! Very polite and professional. Earned our business for sure! And they price what your paying for. No hidden cost or agenda. We will use them again!

Great. They came early and they did the job in one day. And it looks great. There are a lot of fence companies out there but this one does great work and is line with market prices

I would definitely hire them again. The two men that replaced the fence were wonderful. They were so polite and kind and worked extremely hard. They answered my questions and did a great job creating a new fence for us. I have had neighbors compliment the fence. Great company! Great men that created the fence.

Not well. The estimator was not pleasant.

The service was good. I went with them because of the cost. They were prompt with getting back to me. They were good all around. The only thing that happened that was not good, but it happened. I was out of town when they did ¾ of my fence that I asked for. They accidentally cut a gas line and had to come back the next day. But, I was notified and it was fine. I liked the style of the fence that I guy and the recommendation that I got. I liked the detailed diagram that I received, so that I could contact my neighbors to see if they wanted to contribute to the cost of that part of the fence. It is called a Good Neighbor fences, you share it with the next door neighbor, that will be more safe to your property. There are neighbors on the back of me and both sides of me. One neighbor didn?t respond to my letter. But, the next door neighbor was very kind and very appreciative and did split the cost of that side of the fence with me.

Work not performed but there sales staff was really good.

I wouldn't recommend Texas Fence. They were difficult to work with initially to get the estimate. Since then, they took a month to get out here the first time there was a problem, and the second time, 15 months later and three months after the warranty expired, they apparently feel like they're doing me a big favor to charge me only $150 to re-seat a privacy fence gate that won't close any more. I suggest you find a smaller and less bureaucratically overburdened company.

Well overall, although they could improve on communication in scheduling.

John Schmidt came out to the house to measure and answer questions. He was entirely professional. We had called seven companies out for estimates. John Schmidt provided drawings and specific details of how the fence and gates were to be built. He was wonderful. None of the other seven companies were as professional and many charged a whole lot more for their services. The company notified 811 for the marking of utilities. Next the Production Department called to schedule the date of installation. The crew arrived and were experts at their trade. They worked well as a team and anticipated the next step in the process of building very efficiently. The crew worked very hard to put the fence together. We are now enjoying the smell of the cedar and the look of our new fence.

Awful . I paid top dollar thinking I was hiring a legit company with employees . Turns out they just hire sub contracters to do the work . The work was horrible I refused to pay . 6 weeks later they sent a new sub contracted crew to tear down the fence the first crew installed and rebuilt the fence again. Not once did the salesman that originally came it to give me the bid come out to review the shoddy work

The job was completed in a timely fashion after repair of a broken main water line which was not their fault due to location of line and gate posts. (Had been broken and repaired by original fence installers 12 years ago)

We researched Angie's list for fence companies and Texas Fence Co. seemed to consistently receive very positive reviews. In addition, one of the neighbors had recently used Texas Fence Co. and we got to examine their fence. It was beautiful and well constructed. We felt their price was competitive so we hired them in April 2016. Their crew completed the fence in 1 1/2 days. The crew was on time every day, and very methodical in their tear down, haul away, and construction of the fence. They were very careful about some of the landscape we had near the fence, cleaned up as they went along, and were considerate of the neighbors' yards. The material used was good quality and just as stated in the proposal - 1"x6" #2 cedar pickets and pressure treated #2 pine 2"x6" beveled rot boards for the bottom, pressure treated #2 pine posts and rails, aluminum screw shank picket nails, and galvanized framing nails. We did not have them put in a gate because my husband wanted to design his own gate. Although, we did get extra pickets to use for the gate project. We also decided to invest in the "Underground Utility Protection" option for $50 because of underground utilities that run alongside and near our fence. The fence has been in for 3 months and we are still very happy with their work. We would highly recommend them!

The initial times I had contact with TFC was great. The salesman was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The job supervisor (whom you don’t have contact with until they send someone out to do the job) however, - I’m honestly not sure he was even interested in being in the business based on his level of monotone, uninterested discussion and lack of taking responsibility for their work. Even though the fence I wanted wasn't the typical 7’ tall cedar fence, the salesman told me he had seen/knew of examples in the area of town I was talking about as these fences are popular in the Heights, Montrose and Garden Oaks areas where I moved from. They arrived promptly and were finished with the job in the 2 day period as promised. They cleaned up the mess well. However, they guys they sent out were very nice but not that experienced (or maybe they just weren't that good at building fence?). I had them build a smaller fenced in area in my large back yard to keep my dog in when I need to keep her away from the other animals. It is about 20 x 20 feet perimeter and is 4'6" feet tall. It is made with wire paneling instead of cedar planks. They also installed a new larger 7’ tall gate that exits the yard made with the usual cedar planks. Here are the problems I had to have them revise: 1. The smaller of the gates rubbed against the fence when opening and closing it and the hinges were off centered not allowing it to close completely (a couple of inch gap when fully closed). 2. The same gate was a metal frame and they did not cover the metal frame with wood - just left it exposed metal. They ended up fixing the gate - meaning it would open and close well, and put wood to cover the metal bars, but stated they don't usually do that. (what???) 3. Three of the horizontal cedar planks on the fence just barely overlapped the post (only by about ¼”) and rather than cutting this and another one to fit (they didn’t fit because the posts were spaced unevenly), they just left it like that and used a nail gun to shoot long nails at an angle which barely caught the plank and post – this would have failed over the next 1-2 years). I would make the excuse that it was lack of experience on the installation guy’s part but somehow this only happened on the side of the fence that you can’t see because it’s on the back side of the little “doggie yard”. The side that faced the door (i.e. easily visible to me) - was not done in this manner. 4. The larger 7 ‘ cedar gate had a large open space between the gate and the fence, and anyone can unlock the "best lock" (I unlocked it myself in less than 10 seconds with a screwdriver). This was something I explained to the salesman that I did not want and showed him a picture of another gate and how I wanted it done. He told me, “oh yeah, that’s how we do it” 5. The posts were not spaced evenly (8 feet here, 10 feet there – we are not talking a couple of inches difference here) 6. They did not allow the concrete to set prior to beginning to build the rest of the fence. It worked out for them though – they are all standing upright. 7. The framing for the fence (front and back sides of the horizontal planks) was quoted in black and white in the quote yet the job supervisor told me (argued with me for several minutes about it) that indeed, they did the work as quoted and the words in the quote did not mean what they said. I explained that the salesman and I did discuss this particular detail of the fence and that the written quote did say that would be done. He continued to tell me that's not what it meant. In the end, I didn't give in and they came out and did frame work. Here is the direct quote from TFC quote: “wire mesh which is sandwiched between 2x6 pressure treated pine middle and top rail” – not sure which English they use, but they did not “sandwich” any of it and told me that was not included in the price they quoted me. 8. The job supervisor never showed up until the very last day of them fixing the things they did incorrectly or not at all. Even then he tried to leave before I got home but I caught him at the end of my street. I literally was on the phone with him asking him to stay at my house as I was almost home and he told me he was already gone. That's all I can remember as it's been 8 months ago. Bottom line - if you use them, check their work thoroughly before paying the balance owed. I think if you do the cookie cutter fence, you will likely be ok. I can’t say I would call them for anything out of the ordinary though.

They were prompt and efficient. The workmanship is excellent as are the materials used. I am so glad that I had this company do this work for me.

From the quote through removing the old fence and building the new one, Texas Fence folks were highly professional, addressing all of our concerns and responding to the needs and concerns of our neighbors. Not only was the work done well, it was done in a timely manner. A great team.
