Texas Fence

Horrible work. They had to tear it down and redo the whole fence because they used the wrong side of the yard for the starting elevation. They thought I would allow them to put in 2x4 at the bottom to fill in the gaps on the fence bottom, not sure why you would do this after paying extra for a 12" rot board. The crew left concrete all over the yard which I had to complain about and they cut down a plant to the ground to get it out of their way. I had to get a project manager to come out and he was speechless about the poor quality of work. The guy they sent out that actually works directly for the company (others being contractors) was the only competent person I dealt with. I would NEVER recommend this company and advise anybody wanting to use them to proceed with caution.

I highly recommend Texas Fence. They tore down my old cedar fence and installed a new one for me in 2 days. Eric Zwerneman, Salesman, was very helpful and patient with all my questions and concerns. He worked out separate contracts for me and my neighbor to split the cost between us. The installers did an amazing job with the installation and clean up. They even replaced a couple of pickets for me that had minor inferior characteristics in the wood after completion without any hesitation. I am 100% satisfied with their service and will use them again if I ever need fencing work again. Five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The bid came to us via email with a detailed drawing of the yard, house, and each length of the fence and gates. We accepted online, and payments are simple online as well. The schedule came to us through email and we accepted the offered dates. The team showed up on time and broke down our old fencing, posts, and gates and piled it up in the front yard. They then installed the posts with adequate concrete and left for the first day. The next morning, they installed all the cedar fence planks and gates and hauled away the old fence pieces from the yard. Everything is very stable, even, and solid. Very happy with the entire process.

The 1 man "crew" that was sent was not provided any information on what he was supposed to do. The Project Manager did not show up like he promised he would until the "crew" was there the first day for 1/2 day -- doing nothing. Project manager was very unresponsive to calls we made. They never started their day until 10 am and were gone before 5pm.

Excellent work by two extremely hard working Latinos. Job completed in two days. Pricey, but worth it.

Everything went great and we are really enjoying the appearance and quality of the new gate and fence. David Connery was very informative and had a great knowledge of the products his company had to offer. Too bad Summit Fence South was such a bad experience.

We chose what we wanted from Texas Fence samples brought to our house by sales rep Roman Rocha, signed a contract for what we ordered, and paid for half of it with the balance due when the contract was honored and the fence installed correctly. We hadn't heard anything from anyone at Texas Fence and we were going out of town so I phoned to see when the fence was going to be installed. We were told that our order had been misplaced. Things suddenly got really rushed and they said they'd be here in three days to install it. I was surprised that they could fabricate and finish a "custom" fence that fast. They came & installed a fence when I wasn't home. It wasn't at all what we chose & ordered. It wasn't the Lancaster that I chose and had pinched posts instead of finials. When I phoned the office, I was told by "Daniel" that he thought I would like this fence better so he changed my order! I responded that I signed a contract for what I wanted and that he nor anyone else there had the right to change our order from our signed contract. He said the one they installed has a better warranty than the Lancaster though I did not like it. We were never shown or given any warranty papers for the fence in the contract or the one Daniel chose. We still don't have a written warranty. The first fence they installed wasn't welded as the sample had been, didn't have the same thick powder-coated finish, and was much lighter weight than the sample we chose from. We wanted a heavy-duty fence and paid for half of it in advance to have a binding contract. They came, removed the fence panels, left the same light-weight, thinly finished posts, and removed the first fence to be replaced with what was in our contract. Roman kept telling us that finials were a problem and that a different design fence was sturdier because it had more welded joints. He convinced me that we should go with a flat top without any points to make it stronger. The second fence was delivered and the installer showed it to us as it was piled on his pick-up truck. It did look sturdier so I thought things would be okay and we went inside instead of watching them install it. After a while, my husband came and said the fence isn't 6' tall. I thought he was kidding. I went outside and saw that the fence was about 4' tall! The wrong fence was installed a second time and they had already cut off the 6' posts that were set in concrete! I wondered if anyone at Texas Fence ever looks at their contracts after they're signed by customers and before their fences are fabricated and installed. Customers should NOT have to observe and police what their installers do! The installer suggested that it was my fault because I should have seen that the fence was shorter than what we ordered. He didn't even have any paperwork with him and said it wasn't his fault that the order was for a different fence. They left and I phoned Texas Fence yet again. They came and removed the incorrect, second fence, having to bust up our cement again. The third fence: Finally, Texas Fence workmen came and installed a 6' fence like the second one but it still didn't have all vertical bars set and welded into the horizontal ones. It is a cross between the flimsy first fence and the second one- still not at all what we signed a contract for but I was beyond sick of dealing with the frustration of any company who wouldn't follow their own signed contract. I told a secretary in their office that I did not want to deal with Daniel any longer because he is a wild card, has such poor communication skills and is clearly careless. My husband told them it was not what we wanted but "good enough" just so the relationship could be over with! This company has extremely poor communication with customers, doesn't follow their signed contract, talks down customer preferences, ignores customer wishes, and "plays a wild card" to just finish jobs. The "finished" product has sloppy welds and numerous long scratches deep into the finish that we pointed out. It is a thin coast of paint and does not appear to the thick powder-coat like their sample. The installer gave us his can of left-over paint and said we could fix the scratches that he made and chose to leave! Basically, Texas Fence employees stressed and frustrated us so much with three incorrect fence fabrications and installations that we just wanted the entire situation to be over and not deal with them any longer! Though we have two families of friends who want to replace their iron fences for high end homes in Friendswood, I told them about the problems encountered with Texas Fence and they responded that they would keep that in mind when they call a fence company next month. I am disappointed and unhappy with Texas Fence and surprised that Angie's List has high ratings for them. It is difficult for the public to know what companies deserve their trust to do business with.

The work went extremely well and the fence looks great. They stand behind there work and I highly recommend them .

Pretty well. The estimator was professional, personable, and efficient. The workers, not so much - there was a language barrier. Initially, when I was asked to view the first section, they'd installed 3 rails and a top cap instead of the 4 rails + top cap. We argued back and forth and I even gave him my copy of the contract, complete with description and illustration. He finally called his boss who told him I was correct. Later, even though I'd asked for the new fence to be placed about 2' behind where the old fence was, they installed it exactly on the original line. Concreted posts and everything.

They were very efficient. They arrived when they promised. They cleaned up when they were done. The were very professional and easy to work with. The first two photos show the fence they did last year. The third photo shows the fence they did this month.

Wooden fencing went great! Had some minor issues with the ornamental fencing gate, but they took care of it to my satisfaction! Would use the again!

After calling and trying to book with two other fence companies; one took only cash the other failed to come out to site after 9 weeks of a signed contract, I was able to contract with Texas Fence. They were close on predicted start date and end product is nice, neat, and laser straight. Improvements to my experience would have been more upfront of standard fencing practices during quote period instead of after the fact. Also dispatcher improvement on work duration estimate based on actual crew assigned to do the work.

Work was completed in timely fashion. One small change to the gate was required, Shawn was a pleasure to work with.

Good customer service, prompt attention to quote and to installation my only complaint was that they used regular nails on fence so after it rained there were black streaks down a beautiful new fence

Upfront pricing and job was completed within the agreed time. They made sure that all underground lines were marked in advance. The workers cleaned up the job site afterwards and followed up with me after to make sure everything turned out great. The staff was very polite and had the whole process written out. I had a contact available if anything came up. I'll use them again if I need another fence replaced. I was not offered any compensation for this review.

They kept me up to date on the schedule considering they got rained out. They were very flexible on details. I had poison ivy and ivy through my fence. They did attempt to charge extra when others would have I suspect.

The work went without a hiccup. It was fast, and efficient. The crew people were courteous and professional.

Very timely and beautifully constructed fence according to plans and came in right at budget.

We contacted Texas Fence and got an initial estimate for a couple of different fences by email from Brad. Some time went by, while we made up our mind. We called Texas Fence again to have someone come out and measure and give us a firm price. An appointment was made and Curtis came out to measure and give us a firm price on a cedar shadowbox fence. A few days went by and we changed our mind. After some back and forth with Curtis, we opted for a painted fence made out of hardi-board, which suited our needs better. We paid 1/2 up front and the other 1/2 upon completion. Curtis told us because of the number of jobs ahead of us that it would be several weeks before they could get to us. A few weeks went by and we got a call that a crew would be coming out to build our fence. The 2 man crew came out and tour down our old fence, set the new post, put up our new fence, and primed the fence on day one. Then on day 2 they came out and painted the fence. Our old fence was hauled off and the job was done. They did a really great job and we are happy with our new fence. The entire experience was a positive one.

The project was delayed several times due to overbooking. After the initial installation, which occurred while we weren't present, Crews need closer supervision. After initial completion, I demanded a supervisors review of the installation (trash left behind, split boards, tags not removed, and a significant gap on one side at the wall) and, in spite of my protest, my credit card was charged the final amount without my permission; pay cash. The supervisor arranged an appointment, and was prompt, courteous, and professional. He fixed the problems and cleaned the site to my complete satisfaction.

clear communication with everyone from the sales team to the workers. They accommodated our HOA site restrictions without too much of a hassle. Was contacted about delays in workers getting to site, so I wouldn't be wondering if they were going to show up. Guys worked until dark and came back the next morning early to finish up. Very pleased with the company and the work.

Texas Fence did a stellar job replacing our 20-year old fence. The crew was friendly and thorough, and went over and above to ensure we were completely happy with the final result. From the sales process to completion, they exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend Texas Fence.
