Texas Fence

Good work but long lead time, from order to completion. I had to initiate status updates on delivery and installation. Comparable product but not exactly what was ordered.

I waited most of the day for the call. At 4:30, I get my call. Texas Fence is ready to quote a new fence “system.” I explained I don’t need new fencing, just some repairs. It was at then point the guy told me that Texas Fence does not do any kind of repairs and that if he comes out to do an estimate it will be for a completely new fence. Shocked, I asked if they could refer me to someone who does. “I suggest you try Angie’s List,” was what I was told. In an email, I was told it against their company policy for the receptionist to tell anyone that they don’t do repairs. I wasted the down for a worthless response. Leaves a VERY bad taste.

We had Texas Fence install a gate from the house to our garage. We worked with Juan and he was excellent! Texas Fence designed our gate the way we asked and delivered on time. It is just as we asked and it looks great! We highly recommend Texas Fence for quality and the absolute best price. Great company!!

Gave them 48hr to respond never got a call

My neighbors and I--all three of us--are extremely pleased with our completed fence. It was constructed and priced exactly as described in an extremely specific proposal and it looks great. Special kudos to rep Eric who provided great cost-saving advice.

I rate the experience a solid B. Pros: 1. The sales presentation with Curtis was the most professional out of the companies that I evaluated. The price was $200 more than my other choice, but the professionalism made it worth it. The presentation included drawings that I used to get approval from my HOA, which was very helpful. 2. A project manager was assigned much earlier than projected, which was a positive. He was very patient and kind as I nailed down a date with my neighbors. 3. The fence itself is beautiful. It's a warm cedar, and feels very sturdy. I also really like the latch, which I can lock from the inside. 4. The crew took care of a special request to build one section of the fence by the end of the first day so that my neighbor's German Shepherd didn't have to stay in the garage overnight. They didn't have to do that, but they did. They also worked with professionalism – no long phone calls, no long lunch breaks, etc. 5. My (second) project manager Norman (story under cons) was extraordinary. More below. Cons: 1. I didn't find out until the (first) project manager was assigned that the fence would take two days -- e.g., torn down the first day, posts put down the first day, and the fence built the second. I didn't know that there would be an evening when my backyard was completely open. I asked for temporary netting to keep wandering children out, which the PM agreed to. 2. The electrical lines were marked *right* after I signed the contract. The lines faded and the flags were destroyed by mowing/weather/etc by the time my appointment arrived a few weeks later. I asked the PM to schedule another line marking right before my service date, but no one came. I ended up putting down flags myself. 3. The PM was unfortunately MIA on the service days. I managed to connect with another PM (Norman) who was extraordinary. But given that I was calling and texting the first PM the date of service when the crew was late (questioning if my appointment was still on), I was surprised that the PM didn’t automatically give my case to another PM. 4. The crew worked the first day from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, when I was told 9/10 am to 6 pm. They left without telling me, and without putting up the temporary netting that I asked for (to protect neighborhood children from entering my yard and getting hurt). Norman – once again, extraordinary – came out that evening and put up netting. He didn’t have to do that, but once again he was extraordinary. 5. The crew wanted to leave my old fence in a pile on my front lawn to make it easier to pick up the next day. I was shocked by this. My HOA would’ve fined me, it would’ve drawn negative attention to my house, and it would’ve overlapped onto the sidewalk since my front yard is mostly flower beds – all making me a bad neighbor. I live in a nice gated neighborhood by a lake, so it shocked me that they would think of that. Had I not been there, they may have done that. 6. A half hour after the crew started, my internet line was cut. It was right next to a green box, so a bit more care would have been expected. These things happen, but it was nevertheless frustrating. A new line has to be put in and buried. 7. Large chunks of clay/dirt were left along the perimeter of the fence. They were in mounds before I asked the crew if they would remove them. They said yes, but then just spread the mounds along the perimeter. I ended up hauling away two trash bags full myself so that I could at least look at the fence from inside of my house without seeing mounds of dirt. 8. Finally, I asked if a PM would come by to quality check the fence. Extraordinary Norman deferred to my prior PM, who was back in the office. However, no one has called. For a $4000 fence and the high level of professionalism during the sales process, I was surprised by the cons. I would hire them again because I honestly don’t think the other companies would have done better, and the fence itself is beautiful. However, key aspects of the experience were stressful. As a result, I feel more happy that this is over vs. excited about my new fence. I would still recommend Texas Fence, but just stay on top of the PM and crew.

We are extremely happy with our new fence installation by Texas Fence. The installers were very professional and worked very hard each and everyday to complete the job. We had many companies out to give quotes for the job, we looked at prior references and jobs that Texas fence had completed and all these past customers were also extremely satisfied with the price and the quality of work and so it wasn't hard to choose them to do our job. The quality of their work is very very good! I would highly recommend Texas Fence if you are needing your fence installed...you will be very satisfied with their work. Texas Fence work hard to ensure that their customer is satisfied....great work and excellent customer service!

The estimation/quote stage was excellent, but problems started when the job was transferred to the project manager. Scheduling was delayed more than it should have been. Then, after getting our information needed for a city permit, the company forgot to actually get the permit (!) before starting work. So the city inspector failed the fence after it was done. Then they got the permit and paid the fine, but on re-inspection, the fence was found to be too high and it failed again. More re-work needed. Although the actual workmen knew what they were doing, the company management has poor internal procedures and communication, so a simple job dragged on for two months and gave us too much aggravation and inconvenience.

if you are thinking about buying a new fence, please beware of this company. In 2016, I had a backyard fence that collapsed after about 15 years of service. I contacted Texas Fence Company to replace the fence, as they seemed to be a reputable company. Their estimate to replace the fence was extremely high, but I wanted a high quality fence to last for years, so I agreed and had the fence replaced. I believe they subcontracted another team to build the fence, but it seemed to go okay, so all was well, all was well until their entire fence collapsed less than 3 years after construction. I contacted the company multiple times to try and get someone to determine why I spent thousands of dollars for a fence that collapsed after such a short time, but no one would return my calls. After 3 weeks of trying to get someone from Texas Fence to look at my failed fence, I contacted another company to restore my fence. They charged me less than half what Texas fence had charged, and let me know all the shortcomings of the fence that Texas Fence had built. Their fence was really a ripoff, and their customer service is non-existence. I warn anyone thinking of using this company, find someone else to build your fence. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They refused to return my calls after their crappy fence collapsed less than 3 years after construction. Buyer beware!

From sales to finished product, the guys at Texas Fence were top notch. Installation crew was exceptional.

Work was done well, and according to original contract. Junior came to put finishing touches on the job. He was very professional and went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with the work.

First install seemed OK, but several segments of fence and gate sagged after a couple of months. I alerted Texas Fence about this, and they quickly returned and re-did and repaired all the problems at no cost.

I have done many home improvements through the years and thus, I’ve used and witnessed many workmanships. However, I must say, the professionalism, skill, and dependability has far exceeded my expectations with the Texas Fence Co. I am beyond satisfied and will definitely use my own personal experience as a sounding board to my friends, aquatinteces and anyone else I may encounter for fencing needs!

We hired Texas Fence to enclose the backyard of our new home and could not be happier with the results. We live up against a wooded area and did not want the view obscured so they suggested iron fence panels and it looks great. Since we just bought a house their financing option worked well for us. We can pay it off in 18 months with no interest. The whole process was smooth and the staff was so helpful. We did everything online and over the phone which made it super convenient for our busy schedules. I am sure we will enjoy our new fence for many, many years to come and we will be recommending Texas Fence to all our friends.

Due to weather and a scheduling mishap it took quite a few weeks for the project to commence, the new fence looks great, and I was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the crew. 145’ of picket fence was demolished and replaced with beautiful red cedar in a single day. I would definitely hire this company again.

I contacted Texas Fence Co.when I needed a replacement of my 20 year old fence. One of their consultants visited with me and I was impressed both with the scope of his experience and the quality and cost of the material and labor. Although the wait time was a bit long, once the team arrived to build my new fence, I knew it was worth the wait. The team was courteous, skilled and wasted no time in getting the demo of the old fence and the construction of the new fence underway. Now my new fence is up and I love it!
