Terminix - Houston -Termite & Pest Control

I needed them for a carpenter ant issue. they said they treated for them and thatthey would help me figure out what I needed to have fixed. I set an appointment for today between 5 and 7. Then I received an email today stating that the service had been completed before noon.So I called. after explaining the situation, I was promptly hung up on. I called back. I told the man that answered the phone what happened and that I needed to Jane them stick to my original time. He then informed me that I was scheduled between 1 and 5. So I left work 4 hours early to meet the guy. When he showed up, he informed me that they do not treat for carpenter ants nor will he help with locating damage. So I told him to leave. I was lied to by 3 different people, hung up on, and lost 4 hours of work because these people don't know their business. They are over priced, and the quarterly treatment does not cover the inside accept upon special request. Hire someone else.

We were impressed by how quickly Terminix responded. We called at 10 AM and they were at or house 2 hours later.

We always are serviced by the same tech when we get our quarterly appointments and he is always our tech when we call for spot treatments. He is very well versed in his bugs and uses things that are safe for my child to be around. He is helpful and gives us advice to combat things so we don't need to call him. This last visit I was battling gnats in my drain- he left me a trap for them but also said to pour plain white vinegar down the drain & cover it nightly for a few nights. I was skeptical, but it worked just as he said. I really think this is a valuable company to use.

They are our primary exterminator . Never have problems with them. Awesome service!

We have been an ongoing customer of Terminix for at least 8 plus years. Overall their liquid and granular service to control and get rid of insects, roaches, etc. has been very effective. Usually we have no complaints, therefore the reason for staying with them these many years. We have a contract with them to regularly come to our home to do a perimeter outside spray and granular treatment. They do not come into the home unless we request them to do so. They do not require anyone to be at the house during this treatment. They always, in the past, leave a detailed written report at to what they treated at the front door when finished. On 3/24/14 a service technician arrived on time during a 2 hour prearranged window. I was in the process of backing out of my driveway when he pulled up. We both opened our car windows and greeted each other. I have no idea if the person had been at our home before or if this was his first time to service our house. I asked him if he knew what he was to do and he replied "yes, no problem". I drove away and he backed into my driveway. I returned back to my house in about 3 hours. What he could not have known was that my wife was still inside the house because he did not ring the doorbell upon his arrival. I am assuming since he greeted me he may have thought that it was not necessary for him to ring the doorbell to announce that he was there to service the property and if he thought that, I would agree with him because we already spoke. But, again what he would not have known is that my wife or myself when we are at home and having Terminix service our house we have been watching them apply the products they use on the exterior to make sure they actually make the application. This is because about 2 or so years ago when they were watched they did not service the entire perimeter of the house. We had to call them back to repeat the service. That was not without some difficulty with the people at the 800 number. When the both of us are not at our home we have no idea if the service is performed or not, we trusted them in the past until they did not perform when we witnessed their not performing. On 3/24/14 my wife never saw the technician get out of his truck parked in our driveway, never saw him in the atrium area of our house applying any product, never saw him anywhere. After almost 20 minutes he drove away and did not leave a written summary report stating he did any service. My wife immediately when to various locations outside the house to see if any spray or granulars were distributed and none was found. At about 3pm or so on 3/24/14 I arrived back home and called Terminix and spoke to Larry at the 800 number. Was on the phone with him for about 40 minutes. He promised that he was leaving an email or some type of communication with 2 different managers to call me by no later than 3/25/14. This was actually my strong request. I wanted to speak to someone with authority to resolve the problem so that it would not occur the third time again. On 3/25/14 at about 5pm or so a lady with Terminix called. Her name was Jasmine. I asked her if she was a manager. She said no. I asked her if she has any authority to make any decision -- she hung up on me. I have no idea why she called because I never learned who she was or what she was going to do to resolve the problem. I had already spoken with Larry the day before for 40 minutes and the summary of that conversation was already in their computer. What I needed was a person with authority to insure steps to be taken to resolve. I am writing this report to warm people of my episode with Terminix. I tried to resolve, but evidently do not consider they failure to perform as seriously as I do. One more point, the technician who came on 3/24/14 did enter that he performed the service at our home while sitting in his truck. This was not a true report he published to his company, Terminix. This is why I needed a manager to speak with, not to just get a returned service call. Will never recommend Terminix to anyone ever again. Will repeat this story if asked about Terminix. Will terminate my contract with them this morning.

They are very thorough. I get the same technician every time and so he is familiar with my property. He cares about what he’s doing. He really wants his work to be effective. My one complaint is that the technician gets ahead of schedule and wants to come early and I’m not always available early but other than that, it’s flawless.

The exterminator came on time an even called when he was on his way. He fully explained all the details of the service he was performing and noted that he did not spray along the baseboards but treated the water features in the house along with the attic and garage. He walked through and did an initial inspection of the inside of the house and then did a thorough inspection of the outside as well. We are renting and were having a problem with ants. They were not fire ants or sugar ants, so we called in the professionals. The exterminator was very thorough and spent about 1 1/2 hours to treat my house and yard and we have about 1/4 acre size yard and our house is 1500 square feet. The exterminator was courteous and professional. At the end of the treatment he sent me an itemized email of the service performed; and assured me that if I saw any ants to give him a call and he would come out and treat again for free. After he left, his office called to get a review of his services and make sure I was satisfied. I think the price was a bit much but I am very satisfied with the service and haven't seen an ant since; and it has almost been a month!

The inspection and treatment of our home went fine, although the indications of poor and tardy customer services were evident. The payment for services occurred right after attendance and was via credit card. Several months later we started receiving phone calls that the payment was not made. We checked online and it appeared as though the payment had not been received. We then called Terminix to provide the details and were given the OK that payment had been made and received by them. Several months later we enquired as to why our inspection was not planned or programmed and we were told we did not have an account with them anymore. This made it very easy for us to quickly change vendor as it was obvious that Terminix financial/accounting representatives are substandard at best. Please do not use Terminix unless you are prepared to accept extremely poor account services.

They listen to me, and they work real hard to do what I ask them to do. They usually don't come in the house but I told them I want them to come in the house to do some spraying for ants, then they did come to the house. They explained to me that if they do a good enough job outside, they don't come inside but I told them I want them to come inside and spray in certain places, and they did. I really appreciated that. They're very courteous, and they let me know if there's any problems. They're very professional, and he's very personable. He knows what I expect of him.

They were rated highly on the list. However, they were unethical in a sense. I felt that they were trying to bait and switch. They said I didn’t have to sign a contract with them and I could terminate the work at any time. When I called them to start the services, they explained no one said that and they only offer a one-year binding contract. They refused to keep their word to what they said earlier. Since they are a national company, probably all of their service and chemicals should be good. However, I would recommend you talk everything out before you agree to anything so that they don’t try any bait and switch tactic.

I have always enjoyed them. I pay them every quarter.

We have a bundle with a termite protection and pest control. We are so happy with their service, that we recommended them to our daughter, and now she uses them as well. They come out and explain everything that they are going to do, and they ask if we have any concerns. They are very responsive, and if you have any problems, they come out very quickly.

I was really happy with them. I had another question so they came back out.

Rep seemed very professional on the phone and told me they would be at my home later in the day. When they did not show at the promised time, I called back and the phone rep I got that time said there was no notes on my account and no appointment scheduled. I thanked her for her time and told her we would be calling someone else for our service.

They came out with small spray cans, I was surprised, but I must say that I haven't seen one bug since! They know their stuff! They sprayed outside around my home and inside as well!

The tech who comes out is great, very professional and dedicated but over scheduled. The office staff are the opposite!

Rather than tell you that you don’t have termites, they will only tell you that they guarantee any repair work. They also will not go beyond about 3 feet from the perimeter of the house.

Tech was great. Always showed up when scheduled. was professional. did a good job. Just beware of their office staff.

Came to evaluate and give estimate promptly. Did the work the next day . Great since we were leaving on vacation the day following service

In South Carolina we didn't have termites or bugs unless you were a filthy housekeeper, but we move here and everybody has bugs plus termites everywhere. I called another pest control company who was supposed to be the #1 company and we used them for 25 years. Every year I would pay them for the quarterly service and the yearly inspection for termites, but they were here and gone in 15 minutes and the cost increased for $300 to $400 and then all of a sudden it was $500. I told them that I wasn't paying them $500 to come out here for 15 minutes, so then he said that he could retreat our house for $1,000 and then put me on a new contract. I said to him I wasn't paying that amount and he told me that was all he could do. I told them if I leave them that I would never come back to them again and I was done and now I'm with Terminix and they're very professional and let you know ahead of time when they're coming. he always knocks on the door to see if I'm home and if I've been having any problems. If I have any questions like about termites and ants they always explain it and are just really good people.

I like one particular man that comes out. I have had a problem with them about that because at one time, one of the guys came and it rained right after he came and my dog got sick from the stuff and I called and they were supposed to have on our account, to only send this one particular person and they call me every three months, an automated call, and I have to always make a call to make sure that it is Tom that they are sending and they never have it right. They have to change it.

They call me and let me know they're coming. They have to go through my neighbor's yard to get to a part of my property so when they call I can let the neighbors know they're coming. They do a good job.

They were very good, they did a good job, and they were friendly.

I am on a one year contract. I used them several years ago on another house and never had to call them back so I guess they did a good job. I thought their price was a little high compared to other vendors around here but I will use them again in the future.

We are on an annual contract, so they are out here every quarter. We decided to use them because of their quality, dependability and reliability. Their professionalism, service, cleanup and things like that are all good. They are due out here within the next thirty days.
