Very well. Very professional, on time, responsible. Cost higher than estimate because he found much more water damage than either of us could see from the outside.

On whole, it went badly. The job should have taken less a week, but he stretched it out to a month by spending only half days and sometimes not coming at all, as he was tending to other jobs. Bigger than the time problem was the quality. T&E did a decent job with the rough work, but the detail work was horrific. The paint work was completely unacceptable, too thin in places, nail holes not filled, caulk all over the place. Some rooms that I had them paint actually looked worse when they were done. The final straw involved brand new French doors that I had installed, which costs approximately $6000.00. T&E got paint on the exterior (which was already painted), the lock and door knob, and the weather seal. These doors had a very visible and very nice seal. When I asked Troy if he could clean up the seal, he threw a fit, telling me that I was stressing him out and that his guys hadn't even eaten lunch that day, and that he just wanted to finish up and leave. At the end of it all, after he'd packed up, I said I had a question for him. I pointed out some of the worst painting that he'd done and asked him if he stood by it. He said that he didn't, but that that's why he asked me to look over everything before he left. I told him that he had just told me the opposite, that he wanted to get out of there. He left me in the lurch. There are still many things that he didn't finish or that I need to have someone else come in and fix. I paid him 100% of what we'd agreed, but I shouldn't have. I don't believe the other positive reviews on here. No way.

When I explained what I wanted done, he said he could do it all and if he felt he couldn't do it, he would say he couldn't, rather than attempt it and get into a mess. He is fair on estimates and charged what he estimated. He shows up when he says he will and he is a very nice gentleman.

We're new to the area and purchased a "fixer-upper". The fence needed to be replaced and even though I had an excellent bid from a highly-regarded fence company, I gave T & E Home Improvement the job. I hoped he would be able to perform some of the many tasks involved in this rehab venture. My first mistake. Let me preface this by saying Troy Jenkins is a heck of a nice guy and his co-workers are very pleasant. However, after the work was done, the cost to repair the repairs just wasn't worth it. The crew arrived on time and went to work on the fence. They ran into trouble about 3/4 of the way when the ground sloped. Wanting to keep the fence even, they intended to hang the fence in the air and fill in the bottom with a board. We convinced them to "step down" keeping the top level, but requiring longer pickets. (This cost was added to the original bid.) Post-payment, we discovered the 2x4's were attached to the 4x4's in many cases with only one nail on each end, 2x4's warped and came away from the posts and pickets were anything but vertical and plumb. The gate had a 6" gap at the bottom big enough for my dog to get under. Post payment - After promises to return, I never saw him again. A new back door was installed for $210. Post payment - After a couple of months, we could no longer get the door open. Reinstallation cost - $150. Troy's assistant tackled the "sticking" 15-pane door. Instead of shaving the lower right corner with a rasp, he removed the door, used the circular saw to remove the bottom 1/4", reinstalled the door and found that from the gap under the door, you could see the backyard. He quickly installed a plastic door sweep to fill the gap. Post payment - The plastic filled with rainwater, causing the unfinished door bottom to absorb moisture and warp. Replacement cost, $525. Gutters were cleaned at a cost of $125. When Troy's crew came back a short time later to repair two gutter leaks, they were scooping junk out of the gutters and I was told, "It looks like you need to have your gutters cleaned." What a surprise! Cost to power wash bricks on house and wall was $150. I was surprised that they also power washed the pool deck, but was happy to have it done. Extra charge - $50. Post payment - I discovered the brick wall was untouched and green algae was growing under every front window. The mailbox, though, looks great. After installing a new kitchen faucet, I called the next day to tell Troy it was leaking. Again, promises to return. (I think the outside faucet is fine.) In conclusion, I checked Angie's List and was impressed by the many awards and good comments T & E Home Improvement has received. I don't know if I'm the only one with poor results or if people are reluctant to report an unfortunate experience because Troy is just so darn nice. I know I am.

He quoted a fair price, he did it well and he did it right away.

After emailing and calling Troy 3 times (no return calls) to get a time set up, my job was pushed back 2 times. Was told job would take 3 days, it took 5 days. They took a day off in the middle of the job. There was only 1 person here full time (not Troy). The work was done, it just took way longer than I was told. Troy is a very nice guy and the work was fine, but I think he has too much work and doesn't have enough time to handle the jobs.

They did an estimate, and when I wanted the work done, he kept stringing me along for over a month, saying he was busy, but he would get to it. He finally just said he got a big opportunity and wouldn't be able to do it for several months. When I told him, quite reasonably, that I didn't appreciate his stringing me along, he hung up. I promise, I didn't raise my voice, I didn't use any bad language, he simply was unable to even apologize for stringing me along and getting me to think he was getting to my job and keeping me from getting anyone else to do it.

Troy promptly returned my call and since he was currently involved in a project could not come by until a few days later. He arrived around 3:00 pm on a Tuesday and immediately went to work for a few hours. The next day he and his partner (Cisco) arrived promptly at 8 am and worked until the floor was finished and also installed the two ceiling fans. He made sure he left no mess. He is the type of guy I would trust to work in my home without me there. He did an absolutely beautiful job - the floor looks great!!! He is a perfectionist and the end product represents that. I will definitely be calling Troy to do some future jobs I want done (namely a chandelier over the dining table and a patio cover!). I will not hesitate to call him for assistance in the future and have already recommended him to two of my friends. Great guy, very professional and personable. Fence was done in a timely manner. I had specified how I wanted the fence and left for work but when I looked at it, fence wasn't what I wanted so Troy spent additional time taking down and redoing a portion. His was work was excellent. Told me he wanted to please the customer and checked with me to see how his progress looked. I would definitely recommend Troy to other people. He definitely did "A" work. I'm glad he is in Angie's List and appreciate Angie's List being available.

Work was performed quickly and professionally. I have used this company before and would use this company again for any of the services they list.

Troy was very prompt when we scheduled to meet for an estimate. He wrote up a detailed estimate which I approved on the spot because his prices and the good referrals on Angie's List. He started work 3 days earlier than expected and finished in 2 days. His workmanship was good quality and he did everything we discussed, even did some extra finishing touches that made sense.

Jenkins was called for an estimate. He came, gave the estimate and was able to start immediately. With his crew, he came to start the work but did not remain and left the crew partly unsupervised by him. The completed work was not what we expected. However, we feel that part of the problem was that we apparently did not adequately state our expectations and did not confirm what Jenkins really heard. We are less than satisfied with the work but feel it will do. Jenkins worked hard to correct some of the mistakes that were made. E.G. he "masked" some studs that were not plumb.

The owner seemed like a very nice guy. The first time I called he said he'd call me back, but he didn't call for a week. When I called again he had lost my number, but said he'd come by on the following Saturday. Never heard from him again. Estimated cost was $300.

I made an appointment to meet Troy at 4:30 p.m. at my house to get an estimate for replacement of a privacy fence around my backyard. I went to a great deal of trouble to make it home on time and was unable to make a later appointment because I waited on him. Not only did he miss the appointment, he did not call to let me know that he could not make it.

He and his helper struggled and strained, and they got the job done even though they could not really see much of what they were doing.

It took me about one week to get in touch with Troy as he is very busy. The best way to reach him is by telephone. He lists an email address, but he is so busy that he doesn't check his email every day. T&E repaired our chimney, repaired siding and woodwork around doors and windows and completely rebuilt our front porch. Troy also added an electrical outlet in our kitchen. They did a good job, completing the work as scheduled and at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to call Troy again. I will call him whenever I need something done!

HE COMES OUT AND GIVES A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. HE IS VERY THOROUGH. HE IS PROMPT. COMES EXACTLY WHEN HE SAYS HE WILL. HE DOES EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS HE IS GOING TO DO. HIS PRICES ARE FAIR. AND HE CLEANS UP WELL AFTERWARD.

THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, DID THE WORK LIKE I WANTED THEM TO, AND THEY DID A REALLY GOOD.

Troy showed up on time at 8:00 each morning. They finished the job on time. Their work was very professional and they were always conscious about doing a professional job. Each night they cleaned up the work spaces. All the work was done on budget. I will hire T & E again and am very glad to have found them.

Troy was timely in responding to my request for a bid. The price he quoted, based on the work list I had prepared, seemed very reasonable. He and his helper were prompt, as well as courteous at all times. The work was finished in exactly the two days Troy had estimated, and was all of excellent quality. It is always a pleasure to do business with a true professional, and Troy is one of the best in my book.

Still haven't heard anything from them at this time.

Texturing (which was subcontracted out) is not perfect, and you can tell the area was patched. Price was very good though (1/3 of another bid we had), and all of the workers were polite and professional.

Troy returned my call quickly and came around to give an estimate on time. He covered the floors with cloths as he and his team did the paint job. He and his team cleaned up well after the job was complete. All in all we are very happy with Troy and his team. Below are 7 qualities that Troy and his team had: (1) Careful. (2) Thorough (paying attention to details). (3) Punctual. (4) Professional and respectful. (5) Clean. (6) Open to feedback during the job and acted on it. (7) Great customer service.

We had them do all this work for us because our dogs have long hair and it kept getting stuck in the fence. After they did the work I haven't had any hair! They were just great doing little odds and ends! They cleaned up very well after themselves. They were able to do all this work in one day! This is more than I could have ever hoped for! We have even asked them to come back out to do more work for us which their working on right now.

Not much fun to wait for someone to call or come by to do a job.
