Troy Jenkins (T & E) responded immediately to our phone call, and gave us a fair quote. He began work immediately and did a very good job, including setting the posts in concrete. He did more than promised.

The quality of the work was excellent. The punctuality was okay. Their assistant showed up about two hours late. The work took slightly longer than was expected, but we added some work from the estimate and it rained. I think that they were a little bit pricey, but good quality work.

Troy won the job by the positive reviews on Angie's List and submitting the low bid. He and 2 helpers arrived earlier than promised on the day promised, which was the day after accepting his bid. They worked through the day, being careful to work around or move all the kids toys in the backyard. Unlike other bids, Troy didn't specify the design of the fence in his bid, instead setting up a few pickets and getting our approval before putting up the whole fence. Everything turned out exactly like we wanted it The fence is straight and level, both gates swing freely with solid-feeling hardware, and the awning is a relief to have gone. When painting the new board on the house, Troy repainted the whole back eave because, in his words, I'd "done such a great job of matching the paint." (That is, the paint didn't match at all.) That good humor was evident throughout the job. I gave a B grade on quality only because of the gates. Other bids (which were more expensive) recommended metal frame gates. The all-wood gates Troy installed appear to be very solid, but by their nature will be somewhat less durable than metal. The cost savings were worth that for me. At one point, Troy got into a disagreement with my neighbor over where the trailer was parked and some boards leaning on his house. Troy appeared to handle it professionally, and quickly remedied the complaints. Overall, our backyard has improved dramatically, and at a reasonable cost. A very positive experience.

We had no idea where to look for a carpenter we could trust to do a good job at a reasonable price on all the little nagging defects in our home before we sold it. After looking on Angie's List for a carpenter with only great reviews, we found Troy and gave him a call. He came to give us an estimate within a day of calling, and was able to complete the work 1-2 days later. He was a true professional, with a positive, friendly, can-do attitude. He was happy to tackle any jobs we threw at him, including things we tacked on after he had started working. He brought his own tools and was willing to work around both our annoying dogs, and the obstacles we created for him as we were painting our place while he tried to work. He did outstanding work, and his charges matched his estimates exactly. I would recommend him unconditionally to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy set of hands to get difficult jobs done around the house. I wish we had found him years ago!

Mr. Jenkins bid to build our fence was very short on detail. On his bid he described the work to be performed as: "Replace 162' of fencing using 1x6x8 cedar pickets, will use (3) 2x4 runners & front top cap. (fence line will be throughly cleaned and all debris removed) Add $50 for bottom edge border, for water prev. ($3,625) Because Mr. Jenkins bid was so brief, I called him before accepting. I read another contractor's bid to get Mr. Jenkin's agreement that his bid would include all that the other agreed to do. Among other things that other bid called for the use of "1x6 corral board pressure treated material." I asked Mr. Jenkins what that was and he told me that it was a "rot board", a term I didn't know. He told me that he would use rot boards to go between the pickets and the ground to prevent the pickets from rotting due to ground water. After several days he asked for payment (except for the bottom edge border which he had not yet done). When I looked at his work, I noticed that he had not used rot boards as promised and that the pickets were resting on the ground. When I asked him about the missing rot boards, he told me that his bid didn't mention rot boards, showing me his original written bid. After some haggeling, he agreed to and did put 1x12 boards at the bottom of the fence. I felt that this would give the fence some protection and durability but would not protect the pickets from ground water.

The work was done in a timely fashion and Troy was a pleasure to have working in the house. They always cleaned up after themselves for the day so living in clutter wasn't a problem. Troy really went the extra mile to leave his customer well satisfied. I would not hesitate to recommend T & E Home Improvements to all comers.

Troy gave us a written quote on all of the work we needed to have done after Ike. He kindly gave us separate quotes for each small job and allowed us to do only the ones we could afford at this time. We called him on 1/27 and left a message saying we were ready to go on the 2 fence/gate quotes. He arrived on 1/30 with 1 assistant at 7:00 am and immediately went to work. They worked as a great team! By noon the old fencing was out, the new posts were set in concrete, the 2 gates had been built and the taut line was set and straight ready to install the runners. We had an old chain link fence about 6 inches behind our old wood fence and when I commented that I would love to have that gone...he said he could do it and would do it and he could get it out today and still finish the quoted fence jobs today as well. He gave me a verbal quote on the spot, which I accepted and they started on the removal immediately. They then proceeded to complete the installation of both fences and gates. They were done, all site cleaned up and their tools cleaned up by 5:20 that evening. Job well done. Husband arrived and Troy invited him to search for anything wrong. Nothing found. DH then asked Troy to give us another quote on our yard shed. He took the measurements, discussed what we wanted and said he would draw it and quote it and get back to us. More than that; the professionalism was outstanding and yet comfortable. They had neglected to put the post hole diggers on the truck - instead of taking the time to go back and load up, he stopped and bought new ones on the way to my job and arrived at 7:00 as he had said he would. They brought their own lunches with them and didn't leave to take a "lunch break" . When they ran into a problem on the front gate post (driveway had been poured over the base) he had already figured out a remedy before he came to me with the issue. Add to this that they were both clean cut, articulate (both languages) and easy to talk to, I just can't say enough good things about Troy Jenkins and his workmanship. We will use him often.

They arrived around 7:30 AM and left around 4 PM - the work looks great and is of very high quality. I wll most definately use this vendor again!

Mr. Jenkins came right out within the week that I first called and gave me an estimate. He explained to me exactly what each task would entail. Work was started promptly the next morning. When something extra needed to be done on a task he explained why and got my approval.

Troy called back for my bid request within 24 hours, scheduled estimate within following week. Arrived on time Saturday morning, surveyed the lot and project and submitted a bid of $2,135.00 for a 7" wood fence, posts set 2 ft deep in concrete, 3 rails with base kick board, and a 44" wide reinforced gate with new hardware, included hauling off old fencing material. I called Troy back the following Friday and accepted his bid. He stated he would call me back soon to schedule the work - he called back within an hour and said he could start work the next morning. He arrived on time at 8:00 AM, started work and completed the following day (Sunday) by 3:00 PM. He also constructed a concealed "pass-through" to get to the TV cable box on the other side of the fence. The workmanship of the fence is superior - he's a real craftsman and takes a lot of pride in his work. Would not hesitate to use him again and refer him to others.

I called and they said they were busy at that time but that they would call me back the next week but they never called me back.

Called back in a timely manner to set up an appointment. Came out (on a Saturday) to give an estimate. Came back sooner than expected to do the job and finished in spite of inclement weather. Cleaned up area afterward. Very straightforward and business-like.

The quality of work was was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

He came immediately after the hurricane to put up a new fence. The work was very good and fairly priced and done quickly. All of his work is reliable and well-done.

I was very pleased with the prompt attention to create a bid. Even though Troy was incredibly busy, he was able to work our job in quickly. In fact, the fence was up earlier than expected. Troy was very communicative and I never had trouble reaching him. Since the county hauled off the fence, he took $50 off the price. My neighbor was so impressed that he asked for his number.

Troy Jenkins was reliable in supplying an estimating time to meet, and his crew was prompt for each days labor. He and his crew was a joy to work with and respectful of our landscape plants and trees during their days of erecting the fencing in our yard.

Let me start by saying that Troy does great work. He was very professional during the estimate, and the actual work that he and his crew did was excellent. I have no complaints and am very pleased with how my new fence or my new drywall look. But...the preparation and cleanup could have been a lot better. If I had it to do over again, I would have told him to 1) be careful of my plants-dig them up if they are in your way, rather than trample them down. 2) Tarp or cover everything in the rooms where you are doing drywall. They moved furniture and stuff out of the way, but it is still (today!) covered with drywall dust. It would have been so much nicer if he would have tarped. When I mentioned that there was still drywall specks on my living room floor, his response was 'yeah, that is hard to clean up'. A wet mop would have been a good idea. 3) Ask your crew to be more respectful of people's homes. I left the crews alone most of the time, except when I saw the drywall guy sitting at my dining room table reading my paper (!!!). Later, I found bits of drywall in my paper and on the table. Also, they were in and out of the house a lot, but were not careful to make sure that the door closed each time. 4) I found a couple empty pop cans and water bottles in my yard from his crew. It's the little things, you know? Troy, you do good work. Thank you.

Troy was extremely professional, his crew did exactly what they said they would and did the work very well. Far better then I expected and everything was done to a high quality standard. The cleanup after the job was well done and I am quite pleased with the work. I have no qualms saying that I would definitely use them again in the future for other construction work.

He was very nice and worked with my schedule.

The experience could not have been better. He phoned in advance to let me know when he would be here, he was always on time, did exactly what he said he would do, charged exactly what he bid the job, cleaned up everything, and did excellent work. I even asked him to redo a door frame that had been improperly done some years ago which he did after the fence was finished. He charged only $75 to do that job which took about 2 1/2 hours. I couldn't be more pleased.

It went well when I called him, he gave me a call and it works. I liked them very well and I was very pleased. They just, in my opinion, hit the whole thing out of the ball park.

He responded quickly to my call for an estimate. He gave me a itemized estimate of time, work and cost for the jobs to be done. For the amount of work, the estimated cost was very reasonable. He showed up on time, finished the work on time and the quality of the work was good. His final bill did not exceeded the initial estimate. I was very satisfied with the cost and work that he did. I will employ him again.

Please see above. I could elaborate endlessly but would be unable to cease giving the compliments to this company. They were on time (to a fault), did more than required, cleaned up more thoroughly than I would have. I am so fortunate that I found him and can only hope that he will continue providing his skill, expertise, sense of pride for his work and work ethic to homeowners in the area. Once I approved the shelves he suggested in the garage, he & Cisco had to move the boxes, etc. to install them and then move the clutter back so I could park my car. I apologized but they never complained and said it was all part of the job. Actually I am going to contact T&E for some improvement projects in the building where I work).

Overall, OK. They did what they said, were punctual and very nice. However, the overall quality of the paint job does not match what was done in the rest of the house when it was built. Painting may not be their forte.
