we had a master bath electrical outlet that had gotten to the point that you couldn't plug anything in or unplug anything without the dry wall breaking. One of those irritants that aren't important enough to call out an electrician to fix. So, as is becoming normal in our household - we call Troy. Yes he can do it. Yes he can do it this week. As usual he arrives on time, starts the work promptly, has all of his materials, supplies and tools available. He had the entire job finished in no time. I didn't look at the clock but I don't think it took more than 30 minutes to make our drywall behind the outlet look like nothing had ever been wrong with it. We will continue to call on Troy for any of our miscellaneous household needs.

Excellent experience from start to finish.Troy completed all of our list of things needing attention within the cost estimate he provided at the start of work. All work was complete in a timely and efficient manner. Troy arrived on time each day and worked carefully throughout the day to provide quality work. Work areas were cleaned at the end of each day.

Troy and his team, David and Jose, did an excellent job. I had several contractors come out and give me bids on the work to be performed on the inside and outside of my home and Troy's quote was by far the most reasonable for both. He took the time to listen to my ideas and provided me with an itemized quote for each task to be performed. That allowed me to choose those jobs that fit within my budget and to wait on those that didn't. I was also on a tight schedule to move in by a certain date and Troy and his team worked through the weekend to ensure that I was able to move in when expected. They arrived every morning at 7:30a.m. on the dot and did not leave until late in the evening. Troy met with me every morning to discuss the progress on my home and shared with me problem areas, providing creative solutions for how to address the same. He was trustworthy and honest and I look forward to working with him and his team again soon.

I only saw the outside paint job and it looks great. I had this done remotely to my dad's house but reports are that it looks really good. My experience was that they came when they said they would, were on time, cleaned up after themselves and were a pleasure to work with.

Troy called us right back the morning we called him about the job. He came over that afternoon and gave us an estimate that was reasonable based on other bids. We hired him, and he came the following Monday to do the work. He installed the door and cleaned up the mess. There was a bump in the wall to the right of the door after he was done. When he came to pick up the check, mu husband told him about it, and he fixed it that day. It looks great! Another great thing about him is that if he has to buy supplies, he keeps the receipts for you and you simply re-imburse him the exact cost. Overall, we were very happy with the work he did. I was out of town and called Troy to help protect and cover our plants. His crew wasn't available but Tilo of Tilo's Landscaping called his men and Troy agreed to supervise. They all arrived the next morning at 7:00 and using our supplies covered and secured everything in the front, back and side yards. Troy located our 500w lights, placed them at the base of the plants and ran the extension cords. All covers were so well secured that the plants were still protected when I returned home 3 weeks later. Another job well done. We will continue to call Troy for any of our needs.

We bought a new toilet yesterday and called Troy immediately to ask him to do the installation. He said yes but would need to get home and check his appointment book and call me back with date and time. He called back and scheduled for 8:30 this morning. As usual he arrived on time and immediately went to work removing the exiting toilet. The old line was to short so he went to Home Depot and bought what he needed to complete the job. The new toilet was installed in quick order. No water, No mess. We continue to be well pleased with Troy's abilities, work ethic, professionalism and personality. Another job well done.

First of all, Troy and his assistant were punctual, professional, courteous, and kept me informed at all times about their arrival status and status of the job. They cleaned up after themselves very well. Working with Troy was a very positive experience. I'm in a 55-year-old home, so getting anything to fit is a challenge. He replaced two doors for me: one going from the kitchen to the garage, and one from the utility room to the outside. He did a great job in getting both to fit and work properly. I did notice, however, that not all of the holes in the hinges were filled with screws, and some of the screws were inserted at a bit of an angle. Also, the door to the outside required a slight adjustment by me a little later because the top bracket slid forward slightly, and the door began to hit the jamb when closing. This was an easy fix, however. His assistant repaired a crack in the ceiling drywall in the dining room, and even did his best to match the circular pattern on the ceiling. He also painted the garage doors and shutters. This young man did a great job and did it very cleanly. Troy also repaired a broken fence post. Instead of replacing the existing post, he added a new one a short distance down the line. While I would've preferred he replace the existing one to keep the appearance consistent, he said he'd done this kind of repair many times after Hurricane Ike, and the job itself was done very well and the fence has been fine ever since. He used some lumber to frame out an old kitchen window space. While he did a very fine job of this, the wood itself had a couple of natural gouges in it, which I had to putty before painting in order to make it look smooth. Overall the experience of working with Troy was very positive and the work was very good.

It did not go well. He said he would be out to my home today, but he called early this morning to say that he wouldn't because he does not service my area even though I am very close to him.

I spoke with Troy and explained what I wanted done. He gave me a quote and I gave the okay. When I got home from work a couple of days later Troy already had three posts concreted in place. He completed all the work within a few days working me in around another project. Troy, as usual, designed and built a beautiful lattice fence which will probably outlast my house and will definitely outlast the privacy fence surrounding my yard! (As I told him, I wish he had built my entire townhome! But had he done that, I wouldn't require his services to 'fix' the shoddy work done by the original builder!!!) This is the fourth time I have used T&E and I have already scheduled him to return and take care of a few other items I need done. I'll report on that once the work is done. If you ever need a 'handyman', T&E Home Improvements is the company to call. Troy is a true craftsman, enjoys his work and takes great pride in doing an exceptional job, no matter how large or small the project may be... Again, I thank Angie's List for providing the means to find this incredible company!

While Troy was building our shed, we asked him to change out our old back door with a new storm door and add a screen door. He gave us a quote right then but said he would not be able to do it until the following week. He had us go to Home Depot to select our doors and then the following Monday he went with me to pick them up. Once they started working they found rot in the doorframe and replaced and rebuilt it. Also the threshold wasn't level and was too narrow to handle both doors, it was removed and rebuilt. As usual, Troy got to work immediately; explained what was going on so that I could understand it; did quality work in short time. We now have used Troy for fencing, building a shed and now the doors. We will continue to use him.

Carpentry work was sloppy and had to be refinished. We had trouble communicating the requirements. We had to monitor the job very closely to get the work done near to what we needed. This company's skill level was not appropriate for our interior, detailed jobs.

The service went just fine. They were very careful with the installation. He caulked the holes left from the other hardware. I was very happy with that. I also thought the price was very fair.

I got a great quote from Troy for the replacement of rotten wood on our outdoor porch, a new attic door, and replacement of a broken window for $875. I scheduled T & E to perform the work on Friday, but he called and postponed until Monday because it was supposed to rain. Unfortunately, after I accepted the proposal, I found out that our attic entry was too small for an attic door with a stair like I had wanted. Troy worked with me to custom build a new attic door on hinges, and it looks fine but was a much cheaper cost for him. I still need to install a handle and some type of latch to finish the job, though. I bought the paint that was used to paint the boards on the porch when Troy told me it would be hard to match the current paint on my house. After the job was finished on the porch and the gutters were removed and the boards replaced, I noticed that two sides of the house facing the front were left unfinished without the gutters. My gutters were improperly installed many years ago, and with the removal of them, the unfinished board not on the porch that Troy didn't replace would soon rot if left exposed. When I asked him why he left it that way and didn't mention it to me, he said it wasn't part of the porch that we had discussed in the quote. I asked him to finish it and it cost an extra $30. He had to come back the next day to replace the window anyway, because he found out the window was too big to purchase the glass from the local Lowe's. When he replaced the window, he killed a newly-planted 3-foot crape myrtle and didn't bother to tell me. Overall, the work seems to be good quality, but I wish he just would have told me when he came across problems instead of leaving them for me to find. I also wish he had done a more thorough job in the estimate so I wouldn't have been surprised with the added costs of the window, paint, and the small-sized attic door. I had forgotten to use the coupon on Angie's List when I paid the initial work payment and asked him to apply the discount to the window and unfinished siding that he had to come back to do, but he refused.

He came out and estimated the job and seemed like a real nice guy. Said he would start work in two days. I gave him a key to the house. He called in two days and said to call him. I did call him several times but he never called me back and abandoned the job without explanation. Thank god I did not pay him any money in advance!

Each time we used T & E HOME IMPROVEMENTS the experience was positive. They were on time and on budget. If we needed extra supplies they went and got them. I would use them again.

Troy arrived when expected. He was knowledgable and helpful with advice on this project. He was also cheerful and easy to relate to.

Punctual, keen price and great workmanship. Had minor problem digging out an old fence post, caused damage to sprinkler sysem but repaired the damage. Highly recommended - will use in the future for other general repairs.

Troy was on time and very thorough. He and his assistant worked very hard without a break and managed to get all of it done in a pleasing, timely, and clean fashion. They cleaned up so well that one couldn't figure out there was so much work done with wood and such. He bought the fan and showed me the receipt for it and for a couple of other things which he didn't need to do since I trusted him completely. Overall, I'd hire him again in a heartbeat. Absolutely no complaints. Unfailingly polite and professional, he is very accommodating of the customer's needs and takes great care to make sure they are totally happy with the work done.

When I first called T&E, I was told that someone would call back early the next week to set up an estimate. I didn't hear from anyone, so I called back. Troy apologized that he forgot to return the original call, and set up a time for he estimate. He was professional, punctual, and had the lowest price. But in the end, we chose another company which had the middle estimate. Had we chosen T&E, I feel comfortable that we would have received quality work.

Troy came to the first appointment on time to give me an estimate. He initiated work on the appointed day and was early to the job site. The work took half a day longer than estimated. However, all work was done in a quality manner. Troy opted to use Hardi Plank for the exterior of the dog house to help its longevity. Troy and his assistant were easy to work with. Troy was open to new ideas and implemented them. Overall, his work was well-done AND greatly appreciated.

Did a great job...quickly. Cleaned up very well. The new gate is very solid and works well. I am very pleased. The cost was very resonable and Trey was prompt and courteous and enthusiastic!

He was wonderful. They came out and did the work. The wood shrunk 2-3 weeks later, and he sent someone out to redo the boards and the fence has been fine ever since. I asked him to leave me a few boards, and he left me 6-7 boards and he hauled the rest away. I thought they did a very good job.

I had a good experience with them. They set up an appointment with me and came out right on time. He did a very thorough and efficient job. He was very professional and respectful when he was in my home. He was very flexible and willing to work with me when I asked him to do some other small projects.
