We are selling our home and moving cross-country, so we needed someone to complete some repairs before it was listed. The contractor we usually use was not available, so we set out for quotes from other contractors and Troy was able to fit us in for a quote same-day. Troy came out promptly, discussed the repairs with me and made sure we were on the same page. I discussed our situation and TROY recommended taking photos of the work before and after, working directly with our realtor to approve of the quality of the work once completed and, since he doesn?t accept any other form of payment beside cash/check and could not wait for the check to be mailed to him, he suggested we give the check to our realtor as well. I felt like these were reasonable suggestions and agreed. The original quote was for replacing several boards on the outside of the home and painting them with the paint we provided, which we sent to our realtor, so he knew which repairs to check upon completion. After the initial quote, we asked if Troy could install some bathroom hardware indoors, and he agreed to a $50 fee for those items. I updated our realtor and asked to coordinate with Troy to allow him into the home. Our job was to begin on Monday, but to everyone?s surprise, one of the other contractors I received a quote from showed up as well as Troy, so they both stopped work and contacted me. Once that was resolved, Troy was able to begin the repairs on Tuesday. He sent photos of the repairs on Tuesday evening to me via text and notified me that the color match paint did not match, so he would need to paint the entire boards where the repairs were made. I felt like that was a nice touch. He completed all of the outdoor repairs on Wednesday afternoon and wanted his payment, without working on the indoor repairs, which was fine, but our realtor was trying to contact me prior to giving payment to make sure the indoor items were not part of the payment, since he had not completed them. We are traveling through mountains, so I did not received the calls immediately. Upon calling Troy back, I asked if I would be able to mail him a check for the remaining $50 for the indoor repair, since it was such a minor amount. He was belligerent with me over the phone telling me that we made him miss other work and he didn't appreciate the way our realtor was handling the situation, which was completely inappropriate given the amount of discussion we had regarding the situation with us being out of town and his approval of coordinating with our realtor. As I pointed out to Troy, I am not responsible for how our realtor conducts himself and did not understand why he was yelling at me for the incident when our realtor was only trying to make sure that the check we supplied to him for Troy was only for the original work that was supposed to be done; exclusive of the indoor repairs Troy had not began. It ended with me being extremely unsatisfied with having ever chose to work with him and I would advise any one else to be careful when selecting Troy for their projects. He seems to have a very short-temper, terrible personal skills and completely lacks customer service skills. Being a company owner myself, I understand that you have to deal with a wide range of situations. Blaming customers and scolding them for any type of situation that arises should *never* be a customer service tactic. It?s 100% disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely overshadows any positive aspects of the work completed.

The owner of the company, Troy Jenkins, could not have been more professional. He gave us a detailed estimate, stating what materials he would use. He was prompt. He removed all the old materials, and left the yard in immaculate condition. I could not be more pleased with the results! He is a genuinely nice guy - one that I would certainly use for another project.

Troy did a great job. He was on time and professional. He did top notch, quality work and I am very pleased with his service. I highly recommend him!

What a great guy! I really enjoyed working with Troy. He called me back when he said he would, he showed up when he said he would, and did a great job. What more can I ask for??? He had a very reasonable price, too! We will 100% use him again!

Troy was on time, fairly priced, and considerate. The work he performed was exactly as desired.

He came out to start the work and everything was going good he removed all the old fencing and piled it in the easement next to our house. He got most of the framing for the new fence done and half of the slats done in the first day. We asked him for a written estimate before the work started but on the day he said that he would be starting he came at 6AM and started the work prior to giving us a written estimate or contract. At the end of the first day he asked for payment of half of the cost. Which we gave to him, he said that he would be back the next morning to finish the work. When I gave him the payment for the half I again asked him for a written estimate/invoice and receipt/release for the material since we were going to need to submit for reimbursement from the company that damaged our old fence. He also insisted that the check be made out to him personally and not his company. On day 2 he came at 6am again and started working then I went out and talked to him and said that we needed the paperwork proving the material was paid for free and clear and a formal invoice prior to him doing anything else. He then went into a verbal rant about me questioning him for the proof the material was paid for and started cussing at me. When he refused to provide proof I then told him no payment could be made until proof was provided. He said that it was not possible to give me a receipt for the material he acquired from Lowe's. He then proceeded to get a chainsaw and cut in half and destroy the fence already completed and paid for and then left my property. We then had to contact law enforcement and our bank to find that he had altered the check we gave him and went to our bank and attempted to cash the altered check. So the end result is we now have no fence and a mess in our yard of all the destroyed material and old fencing that he took down. Also based on the fact he could not produce a receipt for the material from Lowe's we now must assume that the material was not legally obtained. I am not saying it is stolen but what reputable contractor has a problem providing a receipt for material. That is standard practice with every other contractor I have ever used before. Also we contacted the State of Texas and found that he does not in-fact have a contractors license and the DBA he has listed on this site T&E Home Improvement is not listed with the county or state. I would not ever use or recommend Troy Jenkins AKA T&E Home Improvement to anyone.

Troy started immediately and finished the work within days. The fence looks great. He was very easy to work with and came in with a competitive price. Would definitely use again.

We were very please with Troy. He was very punctual and meticulous. He wasn't able to install a handle set on our front door, but I appreciated his honesty about that instead of him just going for it and messing it up. He did an amazing job matching our toe kicks to our hardwood floor.

Performed job and completed it ahead of time. I wish I was a little more detailed oriented throughout the process so that I could have had a few things re-done or touched up but overall happy to be back in my beautiful

I first contacted Troy early April to get an estimate on some handymen job by phone. He said he will call me back next day to schedule a time. Never called back.I texted him a few days later, never got a reply until a week later. He finally came over to my home, gave me an estimate, and the quote next day. When we finally tried to set a date to have the jobs done, there was only one day (Tuesday) he had available which we can take off from work. He told me one day might be tight, he will do whatever he can do in one day. We were OK with that. Then I asked him if he can start Monday afternoon. My intention is that he will have half day more. I got an angry email from him that he can't finish the job in one day, how will half day be enough? I emailed back to him to explain that he misunderstood me, I meant he will have Monday afternoon and Tuesday. I got nothing back from him. Weekend came, both my husband and I have to plan the day off. I called him left message twice without any response. I texted him again, no reply. Monday morning, I called him, no answer. I texted him again, finally one word came: Pass. I don't know what kind of work quality the company will provide, but they should at least let their customer know when they decided they don't want to do the job.

5/12 - I contact Troy with T&E Home Improvments to come to my house to get an estimate on work I needed done. 5/13 - Troy came to my house and we went over all of the work I needed. Basically consisted of several areas on the outside of my house that needed new hardy plank, roof and window trim replaced. Also had some fence repair and back porch repairs. Troy seemed to write everything down and said he would email an estimate the next day. 5/15 - I contact Troy via text msg asking about quote but no response. (We had communicated via txt msg previously) 5/17 - Contact Troy over the phone about estimate. He said he wasn't at home at the moment and would check to see if he had emailed it to the correct email address as soon as he got home. 5/19, 5/21 - left voice messages about estimate but never received response. 5/22 - sent txt message asking if he was getting my messages. The following txt msg conversation pursued: Me Are u not getting my messages? T & E Home Improvements (Troy) Not interested in the work Me Its probably a good idea to let your customer know that after you look at the job Me Really unprofessional. Ill prob leave my experience with this on Angies List T & E Home Improvements (Troy) Don't. Care T & E Home Improvements (Troy) Since you wanna get technical. I don't want the job because you want to patch what needs replacing. I don't do that type of work. Try Home Depot parking lot. You should find the contractor you are looking for. If he is not there then try the liquor store parking lot Me Ok ill try that a******. Thks for the advice. So pleased with the service I received! Not only did I get the work done but it was done within four days of contacting Troy. He was very courteous and patient in explaining what needed to be done and more than fair with his estimate. Now here's the cool part...he emailed me to say he'd be at my house to start work at 7:30 and I do believe he as out there at 7:15. By 7:30, he was done ripping out the old wood! I left for work and came home to find a sturdy, well-built, functioning gate instead of the mess of a gate built by contractors who built the home. If you're looking for someone to listen to your needs, be fair, fast, and literally show you the difference in the nails used for the job, then you need to call Troy. Oh, and one last thing; Troy cost me less to do quality work than someone else who was basically offering to do a patch job on the gate and hammer in other parts of the fence. Troy was prompt, friendly and polite. He gave a quick estimate and had the best price out of three companies asked. His work was very good and clean up was top notch. I would defintely use him again.

I needed a simple common wooden fence gate (Cedar Pickets) installed. I got various quotes and Troy's was the cheapest. But he did not compromise on quality. He did a great job. Strong and Sturdy Gate. It was a very small job but he took time out of his busy schedule and personally came to do it within a few days because I had requested it on a urgent basis. Would definitely recommend T & E Home Improvements.

I also had painting and a closet installed. Overall it was ok but found him to be quite messy. He also accused me of insinuating that he might steal because I would not "trust" him to be alone on the property. He never finished some staining that was to be done.

We contacted Troy to help us fix small things inside the house and also stain our deck. We were calling several contractors on Angie's list and Troy was the first person who answered my call immediately. He came to our house promptly and gave us a very fair quote. All the jobs were done very well and he was careful about keeping the house clean. More importantly, he was able to identify/fix the problem of our Jacuzzi faucet leak and saved us a lot of money from hiring a plumber. We will for sure call him again in the future.

We own quite a few rent houses and Troy has been extremely helpful in doing the repairs needed on them. He takes care of the problems very quickly and does a great job.

It went perfectly. Troy showed up on time, finished on time, did an excellent job at the quoted price, and left my garage tidy and clean.

Troy was excellent to work with! He called back quickly after I left a message and we arranged for a time for him to give me an estimate. He arrived exactly when he said he would. After we arranged to have him do the fence repair/replacement he got back with me and was here when he said he would be every time. There was a slight delay while he searched for hardware he wanted to use but he let me know that immediately. He is friendly, punctual and did an excellent job. I will most certainly use him in the future.
